Chapter 42: Assault

When Calvin returned to Hogwarts, he did not see the panic and loss of control as he imagined, but turned off the lights early and could not hear any sound, like a dark and depressed cemetery.

Calvin quickly found the remaining teachers and students in the auditorium. All the decorations in the auditorium were removed, and the tables were moved aside. All the students were in their sleeping bags, lying quietly on the floor of the auditorium.

In the auditorium, there were only two people keeping vigil, Professor Snape and Professor Sprout.

Calvin quickly found Snape, who was patrolling the Great Hall like a viper, and asked in a low voice, "Snape, what's wrong?"

"The school was attacked, and many teachers and students were injured. I brought all the students and teachers together here." Snape gestured to a couple of sleeping bags in the distance, "The wounded teachers and students are there."

"Really attacked? Who is the murderer? Are the casualties serious? What about Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick?" Calvin asked quickly.

Snape shook his head, however, "Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick were also attacked, and they were both lying there. There were no dead people, everyone was petrified. As for the murderer...... I don't know."

"Don't know?" Calvin was stunned, "How could you not know, aren't you a Death Eater?"

This time it was Snape's turn to wonder, and he looked at Calvin with interrogating eyes, "Why do you say it's a Death Eater?"

"Isn't it?" Calvin explained, "I was called out by Sirius tonight because he had discovered the Dark Mark and I found Peter and Remus there."

Snape's face twisted violently at the hearing of these two names.

Calvin didn't notice the change in Snape's expression and continued:

"Dumbledore was notified by Pierce Sinkenes to attend the meeting of the Magical Congress of America in Azkaban, so he is not here tonight, and cannot be contacted.

The owls of the Ministry of Magic have been under attack since September, and messages cannot be communicated. And just now, the Ministry of Magic was also attacked by a large group of Yin corpses. Isn't it Voldemort's plot tonight?"

Snape's eyes narrowed, a hint of disdain at the corners of his mouth, "It's true, I'm almost going to believe it." It's a pity I didn't find a Death Eater in the school."

He led Calvin out of the auditorium, up to the third floor, turning the corner into a dark hallway.

Snape lit his wand, and fluorescent light on the walls and waterlogged floors. Calvin could clearly see some handwriting on the wall, a foot above the ground. Under the fluorescent light, it looks mysterious and eerie.

The Chamber of Secrets was opened.

Those who are enemies of the heirs, be wary.

"That's where we found the first wounded." Snape said, "Filch and his cat. Then Filius, Minerva, and Pomona and I decided to let the little wizards go back to the common room......

"Wait a minute, Severus," Calvin interrupted Snape, "can you explain what the Chamber of Secrets is and what an heir is?"

Snape looked at Calvin again with a fool's eye and reluctantly explained, "There has been a legend circulating at Hogwarts that Salazar Slytherin left Hogwarts because of a disagreement. But before he left, he left behind a secret room, the secret room." ….

"It is said that no one in this chamber will be able to open it until his true heir comes to the school. Only the heir can open the Chamber of Secrets, release the horrors inside, and let it purify the school and purge all those who don't deserve to learn magic."

"It's a normal school legend," Calvin dismissed, "and there's a similar story going through Beauxbatons."

[The problem of slow update of new chapters is in the can.]

Neppe wouldn't lie to him about it.

"Okay, you go on, what the hell happened tonight?"

"Including Filius and Minerva, there are eight victims. The first was Filch and his cat, found lying here, petrified."

"Then I and a couple of other teachers found several other victims—Colin Creevey, Justin Finchlie, Penelope Crewatt."

"After finding the victim, I and the other three deans began to maintain order and get the children back to their own house common room. But Minerva and Filius soon found that some of the students in their house could not be found, so they went together to find them."

"I saw that they hadn't come back for a long time, so I went to look for them, and found the last few victims—Nick, Hermione Granger, and two professors, who were almost headless."

"At this stage, I had all the students gather in the auditorium to avoid another accident."

Calvin nodded, quickly grasping the crux of the matter, "Which of Minerva and Felius found their students missing?" You say Hermione is a victim too, but what about Harry and Ron?"

"There were five students who weren't there, Luna Lovegood from Ravenclaw, Harry Potter from Gryffindor, Ron Wesley, Hermione Granger, and Ginny Wes. Except for Granger, the other four are back."

Calvin heard a lot of familiar names, and they were all students who didn't let people worry.

The two left the dark passageway, and Calvin asked, "Severus, since you think the Chamber of Secrets exists, who do you think is the heir and who opened it?"

Snape's face twitched, and after a moment he said, "Don't you think the title is familiar to Salazar Slytherin's heir?"

"How could I ...... Wait," Calvin said with a chill in his back, "You mean Harry, Harry Potter?"

"No, it can't be, at least Harry won't hurt his best friend, Hermione Granger." Calvin was quick to dismiss his idea.

"Of course I know it's impossible, it's okay for him and his father to be clever, but if they really want to do harm, they don't have the guts. But neither you nor I would doubt Potter, not necessarily the students, especially the stupid Lockhart." Snape said scoffingly.

Calvin shook his head, no way, students are the easiest group to be fanned.

"Well, what do you think of anything other than Harry? For example, if the secret room was opened fifty years ago, who was the murderer at that time, and was he caught?"

Snape said coldly, "I don't know, I don't care, I wasn't interested in learning about a murder from fifty years ago when I was in school here."

Calvin snorted dissatisfied, Snape didn't care about anything but Lily and the Dark Arts.

Luckily, I know a friend who has been at Hogwarts for fifty years, so I'm going to ask Hagrid after seeing the wounded.
