Chapter 13: The Strange Carriage

"Mir, are you sure you didn't cheat on me?" Chris exclaimed.

"Chris, it's true, it's really gone!"

Mir felt that what he had encountered tonight was too unusual, the female ghost in the harbor and the woman in the strange hat in the carriage seemed to reveal some kind of strangeness, and he had not yet discovered that he was afraid of being inhuman.

The two of them retracted their stretched heads into the carriage and sighed at the same time, then looked at each other thoughtfully.

At this moment, the carriage turned around, and the light of the silver moon gradually faded, as if the whole world had become darker, and the inside of the carriage was almost invisible.

In the distance, the wooden fence made a crisp sound, crackling, straight cypress trees, like soldiers standing guard, standing on both sides of the road, like sculptures.

The carriage stopped suddenly, and the horses gasped for breath with all their might, and then a chirp resounded across the vast plain, and the two voices vibrated rhythmically across the plain.

However, the wind that came from nowhere was screaming and wailing like a myriad of sharp knives, slashing with great brutality, and the trunks of the trees were sliced and bruised all over their bodies, and their hands danced and rustled in pain, even the carriages.

Several different frequencies of sound are subdued, like some non-human guy is composing an eerie symphony.

Chris was terrified by the unusual noise outside the carriage, and he curled up in a corner of the carriage, but despite this, Mill sat calmly in the leather seat, his eyes peeking out of the window from time to time.

Mir wasn't sure if there was a ghost outside the window, or if the carriage had already appeared on the Lafayette One, though it was moving very slowly.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! ”

Chris let out a scream, his eyes filled with fear, and he subconsciously removed the flintlock pistol from his waist and aimed it at the car door.

Although Chris's series of movements were very fast, Mir could see all of this, and Mir could feel Chris's nervous heart beating rapidly, and his helpless state.

"It's your men, Chris, don't panic."

Mir motioned for Chris to immediately put down his gun, and if his men saw Chris's embarrassed appearance, then tomorrow Chris was scared by the ghost would become a good story in New Orleans.

Chris let his guard down, he took a pink handkerchief from his pocket, wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and cheeks, and then he began to adjust his state and take a deep breath.

"! Four idiots! Tomorrow I have to find a way to find them some hard work to do. Chris yelled.

"Let's go, Chris, we should be there."

Mir opened the door and jumped out of the carriage, one of the officers handed Mir an oil lamp, and then Chris gently held on to the door of the carriage, looked around cautiously, and slowly stepped out of the carriage.

The two officers in front walked in front with oil lamps, Mir and Chris walked in the middle of the four, and the last two officers, with tools in their hands.

Mir looked up at the sky, and he saw a thick black fog floating overhead, slowly spreading in all directions, and upon closer inspection, he found that it was only hanging over Lafayette One.

Gradually, the wind stopped, but the sound of the fence continued, albeit much softer than before.

The road to Lafayette was extremely winding, and the soil became so loose that Chris's smooth leather shoes fell into the mud and nearly fell due to the continuous rainy season for half a month.

This was enough to make Chris angrily scold at God, and by the way, vent his frightened feelings.

A police officer in front of him ran up, and he quickly grabbed Chris, not letting Chris sink deeper into the quagmire.

"Oh! Worst! I can't seem to pull my foot out! Chris yelled, "Damn fools! Come and help me! ”

With the help of the three police officers and Mir, Chris managed to pull his foot out, but the oil lamp in Chris's hand fell into the mud.

A strong strange smell quickly crept into Chris's nostrils, and with the blessing of the breeze, everyone present smelled the sour smell.

"! Damn it! Let's get out of here! Chris said.

Mir and Chris went to the place where Ian's body was buried, and then each pulled out a white handkerchief from his pocket, but only Chris's handkerchief was pink, which he wore to highlight the alternative.

"Chris, your handkerchief is so bright." Mill joked with a laugh.

"This is a handkerchief given to me by a good friend, a Frenchman, but unfortunately she died."

Chris pointed to the front right and said, "She's buried there, I buried it with my own hands." ”

"What's wrong with her?" Mir asked.

Chris's mood sank into anguish and said, "She contracted the damned plague, and God took her away, along with the unborn child." ”

"Is it your child?"

"Yes."

At this moment, a slightly short police officer ran over and interrupted: "Sir Chris, the body has been dug up." ”

"Let's go, Mir, let's see."

Mir crouched down close to Ian's corpse and observed, his skin had lost its original color, because the surface of New Orleans was full of swamps, after a day of rain infiltration, Ian's corpse was always under the interlayer between the surface and the swamp, and his skin was a little white.

Ian's sturdy exterior was covered in a thick layer of white ash, bulging eyes, resentful eyes, dark teeth, and lips resembling purple lip gloss, and Mir found no signs of injury on Ian's corpse.

In the representation of Ian's body, Mir seems to be able to think of what kind of abuse Ian had been subjected to before he died, or who the killer was the person he hated the most.

Mir couldn't imagine, or even connect the murderer of the murder to the ghost, it had nothing to do with it.

Mill began to believe Chris's concoctions, because no one but the ghost could be perfect, and he couldn't guess what the ghost was trying to do or what means it was going to kill him.

Mill stood up and took a few steps back, trying to see if Ian's body would be like in the movie, where his death symbolized some unknown symbol, or some kind of death symbol.

He looked from afar, still didn't find any clues, but he saw that Ian's body was brighter than the silver moon, and the only faint light seemed to illuminate the dark night, and he didn't want Ian to be willing to be a slave to the ghost, he needed to find Father Cavendish for help to overtake Ian's soul.

"Oh! No! Mil, look! ”

Mill heard Chris's shout, and he followed Chris's finger and turned his head to look behind him, and the carriage appeared out of nowhere.

"Hell !" Mir immediately instructed the four officers, "Quickly bury Ian's body!" Fast! ”

As Mir spoke, the oil lamp in the third carriage suddenly went out, and he sensed that danger was coming.
