Chapter 15: The New Orleans Inn
Adrian shoved the charm into Mir's hand so hard that Mir could not refuse, and he accepted the amulet given by Adrian, but he did not necessarily choose to wear it, unless it was a crucial moment.
"Thank you for the gift! Father Cavendish Priest. Mir thanked him and bowed deeply.
"Also, try not to wander around at will tonight, I'm afraid she'll come to the door." Adrian instructed.
Mir agreed, but he had more important things to do tonight, he would go to the New Orleans Hotel to look for clues, and he would not stay home before the officers arrived.
"Father, you will instruct the coachman to park the carriage in front of the New Orleans Hotel." Mill said.
Adrian knew what he was going to do next, he didn't stop him, and then he told Chris to do his best to help Mill solve the murder case, find out the murderer as soon as possible, and if there was any difficulty or danger, let one of Mir and Chris visit him at 113 Bourbon Street at any time.
After saying goodbye to Father Adrian, Mill and Chris stood at the door of the New Orleans inn, and Mill looked at the French police officers still standing guard on either side of the gate.
"Inspector Louie, you're here." One of the officers, he saw Chris, leaned over to say hello.
Chris nodded and said, "Let me introduce you, this is Detective Edward." β
Another police officer opened the door of the hotel and said very warmly, "Mr. Edward, please come in." β
Mir and Chris walked into the lobby of the hotel, and he asked Chris, "Chris, do you have any drawings here?" β
"Drawings? What drawings? Chris asked, confused.
"I need a copy of the construction drawings, and if you don't have one, you can go to the innkeeper and ask for one." Mir said, observing the lavish dΓ©cor of the inn.
Chris glanced at the time on his pocket watch and said, "It's half past ten in the evening, and I think he should go home and sleep at this time." β
"Well, then you can prepare one for me tomorrow morning, preferably before they arrive." Mill stood near the counter and said, "Lead the way, Chris." β
Since there is no light source at the staircase, Chris needs to light an oil lamp and lead the way, giving Mir an overview of the hotel along the way.
The New Orleans Hotel has three floors, the first floor is mainly a ballroom, where most French people come to relax every night, the second floor is composed of taverns and restaurants, where a very small number of drunks or homeless people drink until dawn, and the third floor is a living area and utility room, where almost everyone who comes to live here is either on business or for fun.
Mill followed Chris to the third floor, where Chris said that Ian lived in room 320, the layout of the hotel was triangular, 301 was next to room 320, and the other two storage rooms were at each end of the two feet.
Before Chris left, room 320 was not locked and the door was not locked, Chris had told the owner of the hotel that the door needed to be left open all the time, and now the door of the room was closed.
"Damn! I'll go to the counter on the first floor to look for the key, Mir, you wait here for me a while. β
Mill nodded, and after seeing Chris hurrying downstairs, he came to the window in the hallway and looked into the distance.
At this moment, there was an unusual noise in the hallway, and Mir didn't pay any attention to it, he thought it was a mischievous mouse.
Squeak squeak..
Distraught by the noise, Mir tried to find something and chase it away, but he couldn't find any tools in the hallway.
Click...
Mir listened to the source of the sound, and with light steps, he tentatively walked forward step by step.
When Mir reached the storage room, he realized that the sound was not coming from here, but from the dark direction of the staircase.
"Chris, is that you?"
Mill shouted again, "Chris? β
There was no answer at the staircase, and Mir felt that the voice was deliberately teasing him, whether it was Chris's prank or not, he couldn't judge, he could only pluck up the courage to move forward.
If it was Chris's prank, then he would curse him unceremoniously, and instead he would take out the amulet given by Adrian to deter the unknown non-humans.
Mill walked slowly as he gripped the amulet tightly with his hands, and then he leaned against the wall, ready for the challenge in his heart.
Mir immediately poked his head out, but he didn't see anything, and even his voice disappeared in an instant.
When he retracted his head, his voice sounded again, and he cursed angrily in his heart: "Damn! β
Mir's heart began to beat faster, cold sweat overflowed all over his body, he tilted his head slightly, closed his eyes, and sighed deeply.
He was about to poke his head out again, hoping it was Chris, but this time he saw a similar ghost in the harbor - it did look like it.
Mir exclaimed in disbelief, "Oh! Oh, my God! No! β
The ghost stood in the shadow of the light source, her smooth skin covered with a yellowish halo, her blue eyes hollow, and she stared at Mir deadly.
Mir felt a violent vibration in his lungs, each beating as if symbolic death was imminent, and his breathing became a little difficult.
Because the ghost's face was so beautiful, Mill was even a little fascinated by it, and his mind flashed through the words that Chris had said - if you look at it from a close distance, she can even arouse your desires.
Her face is beautiful and sultry, her lips are full, her lines are graceful, she is unstinting, she has no shame to show her plump breasts, and her brown chest halo is extremely prominent, which Alina has so far been incomparable.
Mir's eyes roamed over the ghost's body, dodging, he saw every inch of the ghost's skin, although Mir was terrified, he was now attracted by the ghost's beauty, so to speak, his soul was hooked by the ghost.
"! I don't care about you! β
Mir struggled as hard as he could, he thought of Ian's death, he couldn't go Ian's way, Uncle Amos was still counting on him.
He thought of the amulet, and then he struggled to raise his arm, and as he showed it to the ghost, she suddenly vanished.
"Mir, wake up!"
Mill heard someone calling to him, and he immediately opened his eyes and saw Chris, who found himself lying in Chris's arms.
Mir pushed him away in disgust and said, "Get out of here!" Don't get so close to me! β
"What's wrong with you? Mill? Chris was pushed aside very hard by Mill, and Chris asked puzzled.
Mill was lying on the floor, and he looked at the roof and said, "It's a ghost, Chris, I just saw her." β
"Where is she?" Chris asked.
He replied, "In the stairwell." β
Mir felt that the ghost was terrible, not so annoying, but still such a beautiful ghostβMir saw her as beautiful as she did when she was a child.
