Chapter 12: The Sorting Ceremony

The Sorting Hat sings a song about the four houses, introducing their core ideas.

Kano, who already knew this, was staring up at the magic ceiling. He wondered if some of the magical rituals that needed to be performed in the wild could be performed under this ceiling.

"Hannah. Aibo! ”

Professor McGonagall picked up the long parchment scroll and pronounced the first name.

The little girl ran forward, putting her tattered sorting hat on her head, looking a little nervous.

The Sorting Hat covered her eyes, and a moment later she shouted through the wide slit in her hat.

"Hufflepuff!"

Kano breathed a sigh of relief when he heard Harry and Ron beside him, as if they were glad they didn't have to fight the dragon.

"Canopus. Black! ”

As long as either parent was a wizard's child, they all craned their necks to look at Kano.

Many of the faculty frowned, for the kid resembled Sirius.

Unnoticed, Kano stepped forward and fastened the Sorting Hat to his head, his eyes obscured by the brim.

"Oh, it's been years, what a traditional druid."

The Sorting Hat's emotion rang out in Kano's heart, and Kano responded in his heart.

"Need to see my memory?"

"If you want."

Kano was never afraid of receptive spells, as a traditional druid was more focused on spiritual training than modern wizards.

There was only a flat lake in his head, and all his thoughts were underwater.

Kano's mind moved, and all the experiences except for the memories of his past life came to mind. He felt the power of the Sorting Hat sweep over him, and then regained his composure.

"It's hard, kid, it's hard."

"You have the passion and courage to come to the mortal world to participate in the tide of this age, and Gryffindor will like you. You have the will to train as a knight for ten years, and Hufflepuff will be proud of you. Your pedigree is purer than most and perfectly meets Slytherin's requirements. ”

Kano asked a little strangely, "Isn't it okay for Ravenclaw?" ”

"Actually, you can, but your attitude towards knowledge is more inclined to preserve, pass on than obsession, and I don't recommend you to Ravenclaw so much compared to the other three colleges."

Kano nodded knowingly, and the Sorting Hat groaned again.

There was a commotion among the young wizards below, and the Slytherins were watching with expressions of anticipation and disgust. Gryffindor has mixed emotions, and many people think of the rebellious Sirius that used to be.

Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are indifferent and peaceful, but they don't care so much.

"I don't think which college we go to will determine what kind of person we will be in the future, will I?"

Kano comforted the Sorting Hat in turn, "Don't be nervous, you're the authority of the Sorting House." ”

"You kid, why am I nervous? Gryffindor! ”

The final house was shouted out by the Sorting Hat. The Gryffindor table was silent for a moment, then clapped enthusiastically.

The Slytherin students let out a shush, and Kano lifted the brim of his hat slightly, sweeping his gaze from beginning to end on the table.

This gaze does not contain any threat or persecution, it is just a kind of indifference that looks at you but does not take you into account.

The person who made the boo was stared at and did not dare to speak out as if he had been choked by the neck. The other three houses erupted in laughter, and the Gryffindor students cheered so loudly that they almost jumped onto the table.

"Thank you, sir. I didn't expect the Slytherin students to be so bad now. ”

Kano took off his Sorting Hat and patted the dust off it.

The Sorting Hat also pouted helplessly: "There are a few who take the lead, and the atmosphere is so bad." ”

Maybe it was Voldemort who pulled people into the school to be Death Eaters that Slytherin's ethos were bad.

Kano walked over to the Gryffindor table and sat down, and moments later Neville, Harry, and Ron all arrived at Gryffindor.

Their faces glowed, and Neville looked happily around as he said maybe he had made a mistake.

Dumbledore stood up, and the lively Great Hall immediately fell silent. Everyone looked at the great white wizard with reverence.

Kano looked at him in a gray-white robe, and breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.

"Welcome to Hogwarts to start the school year! Before the banquet begins, I would like to make a few brief remarks. ”

Kano felt that the scene was inexplicably familiar.

"Stupid, crying nose, residue, screw!"

"Thank you!"

Dumbledore ended his speech at the beginning of the school at a swift pace, and Kano applauded heartily, finally not listening to a long speech.

There was a lot of hot food on the table, roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops, lamb chops, sausages, steaks, boiled potatoes, baked potatoes, potato chips...

Kano's fork stopped in mid-air, how could it be all roast and potatoes? This dish is also too hard.

The ghosts of the various academies also entered, and Kano hurriedly picked up a large piece of beef, so as not to delay the meal by the ghosts.

Thanks to the druid tradition, Kano had no taboos in eating in this area.

By the time Kano was almost half full, the dishes on the table suddenly changed to various desserts.

Ice cream in a variety of flavors, delicate baked treats, syrupy fruit pies and more. Kano took two bites and immediately realized that British food was a little bit of a skill tree.

Desserts and snacks are so delicious, why can't they get along with potatoes and meat in the staple food?

After eating seven points, Kano put down his knife and fork. The children around him were still desperately stuffing dessert into their mouths, and Kano always felt that Hogwarts had become a pig farm at the moment.

Ron shoved half of the apple pudding in his mouth and reached for one as he chewed.

However, in the next second, the plates on the table became empty, and the entrance dinner was over.

Dumbledore stood up again, and if the slight hiccups were ignored, the Great Hall fell silent again.

"Now that everyone is well fed and drunk, let me talk about some precautions."

"Attention first-year students, the woods at the school are forbidden to any students, and some old students should also be remembered."

Kano turned a deaf ear to these words, and most of his rituals were either at the water's edge or in the woodlands.

At least he was in the wilderness when he was reviewing druid poetry, and that advice was to be heard, for he would never be hurt by the woods themselves.

"Finally, I must tell you that anyone who does not want to suffer an accident or a painful death should not enter the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor."

This was a game set up by Dumbledore for Voldemort, and the main purpose was to train Harry as a savior.

Kano didn't want to rob Harry of the beginner's tutorial, but if he got Voldemort right in the future, he would definitely participate.

But the main goal for this year...

Eat more, sleep more, exercise more, study hard and be magical.
