Chapter Eighty-Nine: Traces in the Woods

Early the next morning, Kano and Fleur left the manor under the worried gaze of the butler.

The mangled bones of the expedition team in the forest appeared in the upper reaches of the forest creek and have now been collected by the police station.

Today, the two are going to go to the police station and read the police autopsy report directly.

Soon, the two followed the path pointed out by the butler to a small town. Strangers don't come here often, and both Fleur and Kano are so good-looking that many townsfolk have their eyes on them.

The two didn't care, and walked straight to the police station in the middle of the town. They walked in the door, and there was only one police officer on duty, dozing off in broad daylight.

"Sir, sir?"

Kano tapped on the table, and the officer who was catching up on sleep jerked his head up and wiped the corners of his mouth.

"Sir, I—" He opened his sleepy eyes and breathed a sigh of relief when he found that it was not his leader in front of him, "You're not a local resident, are you?" ”

Kano flung his wand into his hand and cast a secret spell on him.

"Confusing."

Effortlessly, the officer fell into a state of confusion again.

"We were sent from above to investigate the attack on the expedition team, and we have shown you the documents."

"Have you seen it? Okay, come with me to get the information. ”

The two followed the police officer on duty to the warehouse at the back, and the police officer casually took out the report from a box and handed it to Kano, and then went back to sleep.

"Copy in pairs."

A simple copy spell, and all the information is in hand.

"Okay, the police department infiltration plan went very well." Fleur took Kano's arm in satisfaction.

Kano smiled and nodded, and the two found a secluded place and began to look through the autopsy report.

In the report, after examination by the coroner, the bones found by the stream belonged to four different people.

Based on the dentist's visit records and the comparison of their teeth, it was confirmed that the four victims were the four members of the expedition team.

Their bones are covered with marks from the bite of the animal's sharp teeth, most of which, according to research, were left by a large canine.

However, there are also some imprints that are semicircular, which means that there are humans who have gnawed on these bones.

"Is it certain?" Fleur frowned and tapped the report in her hand, "This was done by a werewolf." And both before and after the transformation, this guy enjoys the taste of humanity. ”

"I really know such a werewolf." Kano wasn't quite sure when he said, "Fenrir. Greyback, a true cannibal and villain. ”

Whether in the past, or in the "original" future, this filthy werewolf is heavily indebted.

A large part of Voldemort's Death Eaters wanted to use him for profit or status, and the other part was due to his terrifying prowess. But Fenrir. Greyback is different, he is pure evil.

Greyback has a penchant for cannibalism, and has made it his life's work to create more werewolves.

Back then, because Lupin's father offended Greyback. He sneaked into Lupin's house in the middle of the night and bit Lupin, who was still a child, and turned him into a werewolf.

"Did we find this bastard's lair?" After listening to Kano's words, Fleur was thoughtful.

"Quite possibly, because after the attack on the expedition, Louis still saw the giant wolf in the moonlight. This proves that he did not leave here. ”

"And the next thing is to catch him?" Fleur said excitedly, "There is no reasoning process at all. ”

"What's wrong with that?" Kano laughed, "When I catch Greyback, I'll pour Cromwell a cup of potion to make sure he's cured." ”

"Let's go, let's go and deal with him, tonight is the full moon, let's do it quickly."

Fleur cheered up, and Kano turned into a white eagle and flew with her to the stream where the bones were found.

"Look at the photos and that's it. Now we need to look for footprints that are too long, and after so many days, it may be..."

Before Kano could finish his sentence, he saw Fleur take out her wand and tap the ground.

"Trace the source."

The blood seeping into the dirt was locked by the spell, and a dark red path appeared in front of them.

"Spells I've never seen before, very useful." Kano was amazed.

"What I found in the library after the last incident was an unpopular spell." Fleur pulled Kano along the path, "But you're right, it's useful, that's enough." ”

The two followed the trail all the way through the woods, and Kano saw a number of small trees that had been broken, and the stubble was not so fresh.

"It's been at least a month." Kano gently patted the trunk and got its feedback.

The traces disappeared under a stone wall, and Kano simply picked up Hibiscus, jumped with both feet, and gently landed on the stone wall seven or eight meters high.

"Very good, Mr. Watson." Fleur tapped Kano on the chest in satisfaction.

"Thanks for the compliment."

The two eventually came to a hidden cave that emitted a foul odor, and Kano opened his vision of life and scanned around, but found no trace of the existence of any living creatures.

There was a burnt fire just outside the entrance to the cave, but the housekeeper had said that it had rained the day before yesterday, so it could only have been left yesterday or the night before.

There is a bed in the cave, and a few strips of jerky hanging from the ventilated part of the hole.

"These can't be—" Fleur turned pale, as if she was about to vomit.

"I think that's it, after all, the bones of the expedition team have not been found." Kano endured his nausea, used his wand to float the jerky, and then helped the poor people to settle down.

"Whether he's Greyback or not, he's dead."

After setting up a grave for them, Kano began to set a trap in the neighborhood with a black face.

Fleur continues to explore the cave, where she discovers something that is not quite right.

Kano heard Fleur's call and walked into the cave.

"What's wrong, did you find out?"

"Look here." Fleur points to the innermost part of the cavern.

It seems to have been magically extended inward, and the craftsmanship is crude, and the cuts are very unnaturally left there.

"These artificial traces are very old, and they don't look like a recently built temporary foothold." Fleur analyzed, "But if werewolves have been hiding from the crowd here for years, why did Cromwell only find out about his existence recently?" ”

Kano also reacted: "Werewolves are very painful when they transform, so in order to keep it secret, they will use a wide range of closed earbuds to listen to magic before transforming to block their howling sounds. ”

"So he deliberately let Cromwell find out? What is the purpose? ”

The two looked at each other and reached a consensus.

"Cromwell must be unusual."

"It seems that the reasoning part is not over yet?" Kano raised an eyebrow.

"I think so." Fleur must have arrived, "Let's go, it's time for lunch." ”
