Chapter 556: The Strange Tree
As the roar of my challenge echoed through this ancient forest, every tree, every leaf, every living thing seemed to feel the coming showdown. Soon after, the Golden-Winged Roc spiraled down from the sky, its eyes shining like two brilliant gems, a sharp cold light.
The powerful wind attribute ability of the Golden-Winged Roc was on the verge of triggering, and the intense storm formed a huge vortex that tried to consume me. The trees and grass on the ground swayed in the storm, as if they could be uprooted at any moment. And I responded with the four abilities I mastered: wind, fire, earth, and electricity. With a wave of my hands, I triggered a bolt of lightning and rushed towards the Golden-Winged Roc; I summoned a wall of rock at my feet to build a line of defense for myself; Then surround me with a ring of flame to protect myself.
The collision between the two sides formed countless sparks, sometimes lightning and thunder, sometimes flames flying, mixed with the roar of the earth. It's a battle of strength and skill, a fight of life and death. We're all pouring all our energy into this battle, and every encounter has the potential to decide the winner.
The battle lasted for hours, until the sun went down and the sky was lit up in the heat of the battle. With my innate perseverance and determination for my homeland, I finally single-handedly suppressed the powerful Golden-Winged Roc. Although it possessed the ability to fly and quickly withdrew from the battlefield, I could not catch up and defeat him. But I know that I have defended my territory and won this battle.
I stood on that familiar land, looking back at the traces of the battlefield, and my heart was full of satisfaction and pride. I know, for my family, for myself, I won. But I also understand that this is only a victory, and there is still a long way to go, and I must always be prepared, because every battle is an exercise of my ability and a test of my will.
I stood on the land where I had grown up, looking up at the tree from whose sap I had derived. But when I pushed away the long-sealed layer of dirt and tried to regain that mysterious power, I found that the tree had regained its original vitality, and that special sap no longer flowed.
This made me a little disappointed, but also realized that I could no longer rely on external objects to strengthen myself. I need to rely on myself, on my own experience and wisdom, to rule this continent.
During my time away from home, I not only strengthened my abilities, but also took in some of my fellow animals that were wandering with me. With their support, I quickly unified the animal groups across the continent and eventually became the undisputed king of the land.
Although I have enough power to rule, I know that it is not just about power, but also about wisdom. I listened to the advice of the wise owl, my earliest companion and my most trusted wise man.
The owl advised me to develop a fair set of rules to ensure peace and prosperity on the continent. As he proposed, my rules embody the inherent law of the biological world – the law of the jungle. I've carved out my own territory for each creature, within which they can compete for food and living space, but not all of them. I prohibit interracial cooperation to ensure that each species can survive and thrive independently, rather than relying on powerful species for temporary security.
I have set up that each species can find its own piece of land on this continent and share the resources of this land together. Instead of fighting for food or territory, we work together to make this continent more prosperous.
In order to ensure the implementation of the rules, I have also set up a peacekeeping force composed of various animals. Their mission is to patrol the territory and make sure that no animals violate the rules.
In this way, although there are still creatures that grow and fall, they do not lead to large-scale fights. Order on the continent was maintained, and the animals lived in relative peace.
Over time, life on this continent has become more and more harmonious. The animals all follow the rules, respect each other and help each other. The continent is alive and busy, and my heart is full of joy. I know that I have achieved my ambition to create a kingdom not only for myself, but also a home of peace and prosperity for all animals.
And I led a new animal leader to the tree and set up our station. that
A tree has always been my symbol, a source of my strength, and a source of my doubts. Even though it has now regained its original vitality and no longer sheds miraculous juices, it is still a sacred tree in our hearts.
And I have never given up my research and investigation of this tree. I wanted to find out the secret of its growth, and why it produced the kind of sap that gave creatures. I've been trying everything in the hope of activating its power again, however, I still haven't found an answer.
In the heart of the forest, the large, mysterious tree stands majestically, its tall canopy and trunk thick enough to accommodate several people standing side by side. Whenever the breeze blows, the leaves of the tree will gently sway and make a pleasant sound, like a symphony of nature. Even though I'm already at the top of this territory, I still don't know where this tree came from and what it secrets.
One day, while I was standing under a tree and immersed in my own thoughts, a cunning fox came up to me. Its eyes were sly and curious, apparently noticing my doubts about the tree. The grievances between us have a long history, but under the new order of the mainland, it can only temporarily rein in its edge.
"You look confused." The fox said in a deliberately long tone, wagging its tail slightly.
I looked back at it faintly and asked with a blank face, "Is there something wrong?"
The fox smiled slightly, and his tone was defiant: "I noticed that you are always staring at this tree in a daze, do you want to find out its secret?"
Looking at the fox's expectant eyes, a thought suddenly occurred in my heart, and I decided to take this opportunity to teach this old opponent a lesson. I gently leaned into its ear and whispered, "I'll tell you a secret, but you must promise not to tell other animals."
A hint of surprise and interest flashed in the fox's eyes, and he quickly nodded in agreement.
I reached out and pointed to a barely noticeable wound on the trunk of the tree, and whispered, "The sap of this tree is the source of my strength."
The fox's eyes widened in an instant, full of shock and greed, and then I told him what had happened. Apparently he took my word for it.
"Just, don't think about it. This juice only works for me." I added, adding a bit of mystery.
The fox stared at me, apparently struggling with whether to take action. And I smiled smugly inwardly, watching the cunning fox fall for his own tricks.
In this vast continent, although every creature has its own secrets, I am afraid that no one but me can really unveil the secret of that tree. And this fox is just a pawn I use to test the ability of this tree.
When night falls, the starry sky shines. I hid in the darkness, my eyes fixed on the trees not far away. As I expected, the fox really couldn't contain his curiosity and sneaked under the tree.
The moonlight shone on the fox, reflecting a hazy light and shadow. He looked around vigilantly, always on the lookout. Seeing that there was no one around, the fox sneaked up on the towering roots. He used his ability, fire, to attack the roots of the tree, trying to slice through it.
However, the bright flame hit the roots of the tree like a bathing stone, without any waves. The roots of the tree were undamaged, as if they had not been attacked at all.
Immediately after that, a mess happened. I saw that the roots of the tree suddenly shook slightly, and a powerful force quickly poured out from the inside of the tree, directly sensing the fox's strange energy.
The fox's frightened scream pierced the silence of the night in an instant. I could clearly see the fox's ability being extracted in an instant, condensing into a fiery red mass of air. It was a powerful force that connected the fox to the tree, constantly channeling the abilities in the fox into the tree.
At this time, the fox could only watch feebly as his life and strength were sucked away by the tree, and his body quickly withered until finally turned into a dried corpse and fell under the tree where he was trying to peek into the secret. And the tree, after absorbing the power of the fox, appeared even more vigorous and powerful, as if it had been rejuvenated.
I looked at the scene in front of me and couldn't help but be horrified. It turns out that the tree has long had its own consciousness, and it is able to sense the creatures that pose a threat to it and take action to protect itself. And that is only paid out of curiosity
The fox that cost my life, although I regret it, has indeed taught me a profound lesson: you should not disturb anything easily, especially if you don't know it.
I thought I was the most powerful being on this vast continent, but this tree shook me like never before. It stood there silently, without any expression, without any movement, but it showed more power than I could have imagined.
That night, watching the fox die under this tree because of greed, I felt a sense of awe in my heart that I had never felt before. I began to wonder if the reason we had the ability was really because of the tree. Is that particular sap really given to us by this tree?
I know that if a creature with an ability threatens the tree, it won't hesitate to drain the attacker's ability and wipe it to naught. And I, as powerful as I am, can't do anything about such abilities. This power beyond my comprehension made me begin to be in awe of the tree.
