Chapter 7 The First Employees
Atlanta, Quarry Camp.
Leon stood beside the camouflage truck, surrounded by a dozen survivors, each holding a job offer and listening to his speech with a somewhat odd expression.
"Our umbrella company was founded by top minds who survived the disaster, and was created to eradicate the virus, protect humanity, and rebuild civilization."
"We have the most professional virus experts, the safest shelter base, and the most suitable living environment for ordinary people to survive."
"We have doctors, we have food, we have equipment, we have a complete water and electricity system for life."
"However, we are not a charitable organization, we will not help survivors for free, everyone must create enough value."
"We can only receive warriors who are worthy, capable, and willing to give for all of humanity."
"As long as you join our umbrella company and become a member of us, not only you, but you and your family can be protected by the company, live in our shelter, and live a safe and stable life from now on."
"In this apocalyptic world, this is the best option."
Listening to Leon's speech, most of the onlookers felt confused, depressed, and confused.
After the news about the army and the town brought by Leon spread, everyone's minds were affected to varying degrees, whether they believed it or not.
If even the most powerful official organizations are defeated by zombies, what will these helpless survivors do to survive in this terrifying apocalyptic world?
Leon coughed, took out a recruitment book written by him from his pocket, looked at the contents on it, and said:
"Look at the job offer you have in your hand."
"It's like the one described above."
"All employees who join our umbrella company will be divided into three different departments."
"Security, Engineering and Logistics."
"The security department is responsible for all the combat missions of the company, the best treatment, the threshold is not high, the upper limit is extremely high, and only fighters who dare to work hard and are not afraid of sacrifice are recruited here."
"The engineering department is the core department of our company, responsible for all technical work, the threshold is high, and only recruits technical talents with real practical technology."
"The logistics department is responsible for the normal operation of our umbrella company, with the lowest threshold and the highest ceiling, as long as they are hardworking and loyal and willing to contribute to the future of mankind, they can join."
"Employees in each department are divided into five levels of ABCDE, and different employee levels will determine your salary and your position in the umbrella company."
"Everybody doesn't have a fixed level of staff, it moves up according to what they contribute to the organization."
"The higher the level of the employee, the better you will be treated."
"As long as you contribute enough to the organization, you can even live a better life than before the disaster."
"This is the end of the world, and we are all survivors of the end of the world, and we can no longer hold on to the noble idea of equality, freedom and peace for all."
"In this apocalyptic world, in our umbrella company, there is no racial discrimination, no bloodline, no matter who, as long as you have the ability and dare to fight, you can be reused."
"Of course, as a positive organization with the protection of all mankind as the spiritual benchmark, we will severely punish any behavior that violates the basic moral norms of mankind, and will firmly guard the bottom line of being a human being and safeguard the basic rights of everyone as a human being."
In this tirade, Leon was dry-mouthed, but fortunately, as an executive in his previous life, he was best at drawing pies.
What the survivors lack most of today is confidence in the future.
The end destroyed their faith.
Just give them a description of a bright future, and they will be willing to fight for it.
"I know it's a tough choice."
"You don't fully believe me."
"But think about it, even if you risk your life to get out of here and find other shelter, even if you are saved by the army."
"Can you really live a better life than you would if you joined our umbrella company?"
Leon looked at the survivors in front of him who were shaken by his speech, restrained his somewhat high emotions, folded the recruitment book in his hand, and put it in his pocket.
After painting the flatbread, Leon decided not to arch the fire again. He wants to leave some space for these people to think, so that their thoughts can collide well in order to get better results.
"I'll stay until tomorrow morning before leaving."
"Let's think about it."
"Do you want to gamble with me?"
"Interested parties, please contact me before I leave."
With that, he left a dashing smile and got into his camouflage truck cleanly.
Under the complicated gaze of the survivors, they left the quarry camp.
Leon did not go far, he drove to a flat woodland, and stopped about seven or eight hundred meters from the quarry camp.
He took out a set of tables and chairs and a large incubator from the back of the truck, placed them in a position that could be vaguely seen on both sides, and took out various delicacies one by one.
Canned food, cold dishes, barbecued meat, cold drinks, full of tables, there are more than a dozen plates.
This is the food he prepared in advance last night, and since he became the king of big stomachs, his demand for food has increased several times.
As a traverser, even if he is in the zombie apocalypse, as long as there is that condition, he will not give up his pleasure.
Now that it is early summer, the weather is starting to turn hot, eating high-energy food and drinking cold drinks, Lyon's body and mind have become happy.
He has long speculated about the results of this recruitment and is not worried.
The survivors of the quarry camp are, after all, just a group of strangers who have just met, and they are not as united as the protagonist Rick arrives a month later.
Some of them are independent families, some are brothers and sisters who depend on each other, and some are just lonely people who huddle together for warmth.
They are not a whole, everyone has their own interests, as long as the things they get are higher than their bottom line, they will seek change.
Others Leon is not sure, but at the very least, Glenn, T-boy, Jim, and those who are alone without family ties will definitely want to join a group that does not exclude outsiders and has the same interests.
Only in this way will they be valued by others and will not be easily abandoned by others.
However, to Leon's surprise, it was not the people he guessed who made the decision first.
He had just eaten a full three-pronged meal when a pair of young blonde sisters came to him.
It was Andrea and Amy.
