Chapter 325: Soaring
Liu Tiancheng paid attention to the third batch of students for another important purpose. And this important purpose is the task given to him by He Yingqin. Speaking of which, He Yingqinzhi came to the Whampoa Military Academy not with his original intention, and he was extremely unwilling to be a so-called chief instructor here.
He Yingqin also gave himself a nickname to self-deprecation, claiming to be "lion's head". He said that Lin Chong is the head of the 800,000 forbidden army, known as the "leopard head", and I am just leading hundreds of people out to shout slogans here, just like the "lion head" in Huaiyang cuisine, which seems to be good, but it is actually a snack. His brother-in-law Wang Boqun sent a letter to He Yingqin after attending the "aftermath meeting" held by Duan Qirui in Beijing, and in addition, He Yingqin's old friend Deng Hanxiang also became Duan Qirui's guest at the scene. In the minds of the people at that time, the Beiyang government in Beijing was the authentic, so He Yingqin was ready to entrust Wang Boqun and Deng Hanxiang to find an errand in Beijing. The letter was written, but it happened that He Yingqin's close friend Li Zhonggong knew about it, and Li Zhonggong immediately sent a long letter to He Yingqin, outlining the domestic political situation in detail, and bluntly told He Yingqin that the Kuomintang would definitely replace the Beiyang government, and the Whampoa Military Academy was the foundation of He Yingqin's life and the source of development. It was also around this time that Chiang Kai-shek promoted He Yingqin to take on important responsibilities one after another, especially handed over the task of forming the teaching group to He Yingqin, so that He Yingqin also dispelled the idea of going north. And with the fame of the teaching group, He Yingqin became more and more aware of Li Zhonggong's painstaking solitude.
He Yingqin himself has been the principal of a military academy, and he knows that students are the capital, so he asked Gu Zhutong, Liu Zhi, and Liu Tiancheng, these confidants, instructors, and students to pay special attention to the leaders among the new students in the third phase of Huangpu for him, in case of emergency. Therefore, Liu Tiancheng's special attention to Lin Qian is also the proper meaning of the question.
Lin Qian held a knife (wooden knife), Liu Tiancheng held a gun (wooden gun), and as soon as the posture was pulled apart, a bunch of people immediately surrounded him. After Liu Tiancheng's three moves, Lin Qian was unscathed, and then, Lin Qian's wooden knife was not polite, it can be said that the knife caused "life", of course, this is a drill, but the number of roads is clear. After seven or eight moves, Liu Tiancheng was a little overwhelmed, if he left others, the white powder coated on the wooden knife would climb onto Liu Tiancheng's military uniform. However, who is Lin Qian? He has in his heart a teaching from his second master, "let"! Don't look at Lin Qian changing Lin Zherang's name, but some things are rooted in my heart. Those who practice martial arts pay attention to the point, not to mention that this is still in the military academy, and the size in front of him is a senior brother and trainee instructor. Therefore, Lin Qian accepted it when he saw it, took a step back, and said with a simple smile: "Let you see and laugh." I'm all wild." Liu Tiancheng also put away the gun, and knew that Lin Qian was giving him face, so he smiled shallowly. As a result, this third-phase freshman named Lin Qian was remembered in Liu Tiancheng's mind.
The ancients said: "Smell the rooster and dance, and be encouraged", the early Whampoa students, except for a few people, most of them were young people with some ideals and ambitions, all of whom were enthusiastic and full of courage. For example, we all know that Tang Enbo, one of the "four major evils" in Henan during the Anti-Japanese War (the four evils refer to water, drought, yellow, and soup, of which soup is Tang Enbo). Xinhua News Agency's article on the crossing of the river by a million heroes called it "war criminal Tang Enbo." But this Townenburg also had some fighting spirit in his early years. When he was training with the infantry brigade at the Kuomintang Central Army Military Academy, he got up early to run and exercise, ran along Huangpu Road and Zhongshan East Road to Zhongshanmen, and then ran back the same way. Lin Qian is the same, he was able to enter the Whampoa Military Academy, it took a lot of effort, and the qualifications of the Whampoa Military Academy are all his capital. Wake up early every morning and run, rain or shine, never stopping. Including those who have a little headache and brain fever, Lin Qian has always insisted.
This is true for students, and the instructors are not ambiguous. Chief instructor He Yingqin took the lead, and the principal Chiang Kai-shek was even more hands-on. Don't look at Lao Jiang's absurdity when he was in Shanghai, he was so easy and hardworking, fat and light, and he was also infected with some inexplicable unspeakable secrets. Once he became the principal of the Whampoa Military Academy, he immediately changed his ways, shaved his head, drank white water, and even tied his leggings. On November 12, 1965, He Yingqin recalled the Huangpu years and said: "I remember that during this period, I always took students and student soldiers to run on Huangpu Island before dawn every morning to exercise physical strength and spirit. Whenever we returned to the assembly ground, I always saw Mr. Jiang, the principal, standing in the center of the assembly hall with Wei Guo in his arms, waiting for us. Chiang Kai-shek had a habit that he developed during the Whampoa period, that is, as long as others were in the "capital", most of them lived in military schools. Li Yuan, vice president of the Whampoa Alumni Association and president of the Beijing Whampoa Alumni Association, studied at the Central Military Academy (the later body of the Whampoa Military Academy) in the thirties of the 20th century, and he himself said: "The Jiang couple often lived in the military academy, on the one hand, out of security considerations, and more importantly, because of his feelings for the Whampoa Military Academy. ”
Therefore, instructors like Gu Zhutong who like to sleep lazily, as long as Chiang Kai-shek is in school, they will never dare to fall in love with the bed.
Lin Qian's run was half an hour earlier than the group running exercise, and he was "warming up". Chiang Kai-shek got up very regularly in the morning, and after washing, he stood in front of the window and looked at the campus a few times. Then he walked to the playground to inspect, and Chen Cheng, the second person of the Kuomintang, was discovered by Chiang Kai-shek during his inspection in the early morning, and since then he has embarked on an extraordinary road to heaven. And Lin Qian got up in the early morning of Chiang Kai-shek, stood in front of the window and looked at so many eyes, and entered Chiang Kai-shek's sight.
Almost every time he got up early in the military academy and looked into the distance, he could see the young student's running figure, which attracted Chiang Kai-shek's attention. Chiang Kai-shek's idol Zeng Guofan once said to his son Zeng Jize a heart-wrenching sentence: "If you don't believe in books, you can believe in luck." These words can come from the mouth of Zeng Guofan, who has been dignified all his life, and I don't think it is the old man's whim to tease him. The ancients studied hard for ten years, but there is a famous saying in the imperial examination called "Mo Essay in the field", not to mention whose article, who can go to high school, that is all an idea in it, that is, luck. In the words of thinkers, it is the connection between chance and necessity. The road where Lin Qian is running is right in front of Chiang Kai-shek's window, someone may ask, Lin Qian is really good at picking a place. Not really. Chiang Kai-shek had two residences at the Whampoa Military Academy, one was public, which was facing away from the playground, and the other was secret, which was known only to a few leaders such as He Yingqin and Wang Bailing. Chiang Kai-shek himself had carried out assassinations, and Tao Chengzhang, the leader of the Liberation Society, died under Chiang Kai-shek's gun, so he paid special attention to safety. Once, Chiang Kai-shek returned to the city from the military academy, and the car he was sitting in was planted with a small flag of blue sky and white sun, but it happened that the car broke down halfway, and Chiang Kai-shek was in a hurry, so he changed to another car to return to the city. As soon as he returned to the city on his front foot, the sedan he was riding in was completely blown up by the Guangzhou garrison as a mistake for the enemy, and none of the six people in the car were spared. Chiang Kai-shek's first thought was that security measures should be strengthened unprecedentedly. Therefore, his residence at the military academy was kept extremely secret. Lin Qian ran past Chiang Kai-shek's secret residence, which Lin Qian could never have dreamed of.
What is "luck"? That is, if you can't do it, you still have to say that you can, and the person who says you can do it still has to do it, and he can't just do it, and he has to say that you can do it in front of someone who is better than him, and that's it. Right now, Lin Qian has taken this opportunity. Chiang Kai-shek asked He Yingqin: "Who is the student who often runs in front of my window?" "If Chiang Kai-shek asks others, such as Wang Bailing, Shao Yuanchong, or Qian Dajun, then he will answer that he will wait for his subordinates to check and come back, and then he will inherit the throne. But the strength of He Yingqin is different, he blurted out: "This is Lin Qian, a third-term student, the head of the country, and a native of Pingyao, Shanxi." "Why was He Yingqin able to blurt out? Because he had long paid attention to Lin Qian. The officer with gold-rimmed glasses that Lin Qian met during the re-examination was He Yingqin, and then Liu Tiancheng told He Yingqin about Lin Qian's revision of the established textbooks, and He Yingqin felt that this young man from the north was even more good. And why does He Yingqin pay attention to the dynamics of students everywhere, even to the point of not letting go of a new student? There's a lot of reason for that.
In December 1921, He Yingqin was defeated in the infighting of the Guizhou army, was assassinated and fled, and was introduced by his friend Wang Bailing to further contact Chiang Kai-shek (Previously, He Yingqin and Chiang Kai-shek were also known and not familiar). On April 26, 1924, Chiang Kai-shek proposed to conduct actual combat exercises, and He Yingqin and Wang Bailing each proposed a set of plans. The planned plan of the exercise is as follows: Assuming that a landing force will go ashore from the gate of the Whampoa Military Academy and attack the Penang Hill behind the military academy, how will you respond? Wang Bailing, who is a member of the Preparatory Committee of the Whampoa Military Academy and director of the Professorial Department of the Military Academy (i.e., the director of education), proposed Case A, that is, a roundabout operation. He Yingqin proposed Case B, that is, a frontal attack. Case A is relatively stable, with few casualties, but progress is slow; Case B was bold and brave, with large casualties and rapid progress. Case B was deeply praised by Chiang Kai-shek, and this was the first time that Chiang Kai-shek began to have a good impression of He Yingqin.
June 6, 1924 was the first day of the opening of the Whampoa Military Academy, and Sun Yat-sen, the premier of the Kuomintang and the premier of the Military Academy, personally attended the opening ceremony. Jiang doesn't like transactional things, and how to organize the ceremony and how to lay it out has to be handled by the people below. Originally, this was Wang Bailing's business, but Wang Bailing was lazy in life, and the result was all handled by He Yingqin. At three o'clock in the afternoon, the school playground held a grand military parade ceremony, He Yingqin served as the commander-in-chief of the parade, the whole ceremony was serious, neat, bright, heroic, so that the leaders of the various factions present were extremely admired, Sun Yat-sen was even more appreciative, after the ceremony, Sun Yat-sen proposed to take a group photo with Chiang Kai-shek, He Yingqin, Wang Bailing, this photo is a symbol of He Yingqin's career, and was treasured by He Sheng. The military academy got off to a good start, which made the principal Chiang Kai-shek's face shine and deepened his expectations and appreciation for He Yingqin.
Chiang Kai-shek himself once served as the commander of the Cheung Chau Fortress, and he erected a large banner at the fortress with the word "Chiang" written on it. At that time, Chiang Kai-shek was only a representative of the newly emerging forces in the Kuomintang camp, and he could neither stand shoulder to shoulder with the old faction nor have sufficient military qualifications. In the mixed Kuomintang army, Chiang did not have special prestige. However, in this context, whenever He Yingqin walked in front of the fortress fort and saw this banner with the word Jiang written on it, he solemnly saluted. This detail was secretly captured by Chiang Kai-shek, and he was unforgettable for He Yingqin's "Pu Zhong". At the most critical time, who pulled him and pushed him once, this is unforgettable for a lifetime. Jiang has always been a person with clear grievances. Since then, he has treated He Yingqin with green eyes.
And there is another factor that contributed to He Yingqin's thorough laying of the foundation for his de facto No. 2 person in the military academy, and this factor is Wang Bailing, He Yingqin's promoter of the Whampoa Military Academy.
Wang Bailing, whose name is Maoru, was a brother of the opposite sex with Chiang Kai-shek and Zhang Qun during his study at the Jiangsu Provincial Army Primary School, and after that, the three of them entered the preparatory department of the Japanese non-commissioned officer school - Zhenwu School. Later, at the invitation of Tang Jiyao, he returned to China to preside over the Yunnan Lecture Hall and served as the director of education. and Jiang Baili, who presided over the Baoding Military Academy in the north at that time, also said: "The king of the south and the Jiang of the north". Therefore, at the beginning of the establishment of the Whampoa Military Academy, Sun Yat-sen specially appointed Wang Bailing as a member of the seven-member preparatory committee. When He Yingqin was assassinated in 1921, thanks to Wang Bailing's rescue, he was able to live forever. After that, it was also recommended by Wang Bailing, and He Yingqin entered the Whampoa Military Academy as the chief instructor. Speaking of which, Wang Bailing should be regarded as He Yingqin's confidant and benefactor, but there is such a paradox in the world, that is, the recommender and the recommended person often develop to the end of the situation, and the saber is tense.
Wang Bailing is a native of Yangzhou, Jiangsu, and when young people talk about it in Yangzhou, they will probably think of "Yangzhou fried rice". In fact, in ancient China, Yangzhou was one of the most elegant metropolises in the world. In particular, the people of the Tang Dynasty, who were at the peak of the development of China's feudal society, highly respected Yangzhou, and the "fireworks go down to Yangzhou in March" that we would recite when we were children is an example. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, Yangzhou's specialty "Yangzhou Thin Horse" was even more famous all over the world.
The best Yangzhou thin horse pays special attention to two places, one is called "narrow jade", and the other is called "wide pei". What is called "narrow jade", which refers to the waist. Since ancient times, there has been "the king of Chu has a thin waist, and many people in the palace starve to death". But if it's just a thin waist, it's a kind of sick beauty, and it can't be linked to the "Yangzhou Thin Horse". The "thinness" of "Yangzhou Thin Horse" is the reflection of "fat". And this "fat" is not fat, it lies in the "Kuanpei". What is "Kuanpei"? It is the junction between the waist and the buttocks after it is down. This is what later generations often say, "to have a waist and a waist, to have a crotch, to have a hip and a hip". The skinny is skinny, and the fat is fat. But it is not called fat, but wide, and it is as round as jade. We often say that the Tang Dynasty "took fat as beauty", but in fact, this is a misunderstanding of the high aesthetics of the ancestors. The most important thing for plain women in the Tang Dynasty is that they are "narrow" and "wide", and they are harmonious. And this kind of beauty has always been able to take root and sprout in Yangzhou, and it is not accidental, "one side of the water and soil raises one person". China Jiangsu and Zhejiang are also said, but the beauty of women in Jiangsu and Zhejiang is very different. From the painter's point of view, the women in Jiangsu are "goose egg rounds", while the women in Zhejiang are "melon seed tips". In contrast, the women of Jiangsu, especially the women of ancient Jiangsu, are more abundant and elegant. Therefore, the people of the Tang Dynasty dared to say that "the world is divided into three bright moonlit nights, and the two scoundrels are Yangzhou". In the final analysis, the men in Yangzhou are interesting, and the women in Yangzhou are intellectual.
Wang Bailing is a particularly interesting person, and he is the kind of person with an interesting temperament. But don't you forget, what time is it? This is in the entrepreneurial stage of the Whampoa Military Academy, and it is recorded in the "Biography of Senior Generals of the Republic of China" and "The Biography of He Yingqin" that Wang Bailing "prostituted and gambled" during his time in school. Whether this is the case or not is difficult to verify. However, there is one point, that is, when Chiang Kai-shek has something to find Wang Bailing, the chief of education, Wang is often off the post and is not in office. But He Yingqin will come as soon as he is called, and over time, can Jiang's perception of He Yingqin and Wang Bailing be the same? Chiang Kai-shek was not a person who did not miss the old, the question was to what extent this old thought was made, and whether this "old" gave him enough face to continue to "read". Wang Bailing's performance in Whampoa was obviously not up to Chiang Kai-shek's standard of "nostalgia for the old." Among the three brothers Chiang Kai-shek, Zhang Qun, and Wang Bailing, Wang Bailing is the most reckless. Take Zhang Qun as an example, he is one of the "civil and military licorice" around Chiang Kai-shek, that is, Wen licorice (Wu licorice is He Yingqin). "Licorice" is a traditional Chinese medicine, which will not kill people or live people if you eat it, and you can put it in any Chinese medicine, so as to describe the degree of maturity of a person. Zhang Qun and Chiang Kai-shek are brothers, but Wang Jingwei still uses him when he comes to power. Sichuan soldiers often did not buy Lao Jiang's account, but Zhang Qun used his Sichuan origin to get along with these Sichuan warlords, which was called a good one. The Kuomintang and the Communist Party duel reached the final stage to ensure that the southwest was the line of defense for life and death. Chiang Kai-shek was not at ease with Liu Wenhui and Lu Han. Zhang Qun has spoken, I guarantee that Ziqian (Liu Wenhui's character Ziqian) and Yongheng (Lu Hanzi Yongheng) are fine. The result? One pulled the flag in Peng County and rebelled, and the other waved his arms in Yunnan. Xikang and Yunnan provinces have reversed. If this is put on someone else, it will be over at that time, but Zhang Qun has nothing to do, he arrived in Taiwan safely, and Ping An served as the secretary general of the presidential office, and he continued to sit as a high-ranking official. At that time, some people advised Zhang Qun not to go to Taiwan, saying what if Chiang Kai-shek settled accounts? What did Zhang Qun say? Zhang Qun said that he must go at this time, and he must go quickly. Mr. Jiang is now building a grass platform, and he needs someone to support him, especially old friends, who are late, so they are called finished. Sure enough, when Zhang Qun arrived in Taiwan, someone talked about the Yunnan uprising in front of Chiang Kai-shek, and Chiang Kai-shek snorted twice and said: "Wherever I go, Yue Jun will follow me wherever I go." (Zhang Qunzi Yue Jun) Do you still use the old man to say the following words? Fools get it. And the most legendary thing is that Zhang Qun was originally taken hostage in Kunming by Lu Han, and Lu Han was ready to secretly release Zhang Qun, Yang Qingtian was ordered to warn Lu Han that Zhang Qun was a Class A war criminal, and his release would have to wait for the approval of the central government. Lu Han said that Zhang Qun was kind to me, and when the Communist People's Liberation Army came, would it still be possible? insisted on letting Zhang Qun go, not only did he release it, but he also exchanged the soft soft around Zhang Qun for dollars for Zhang Qun to take with him. This guy is playing with righteousness, it's really jaw-dropping. Zhang Qun finally threw down a sentence before leaving, which is called a sweetness: "Zhang has been in China for most of his life, and he has made Yongheng a friend." "Superior, right? Zhang Qun dedicated his "national policy" to Chiang Kai-shek during the Anti-Japanese War, and he was like a fish in water in dealing with complex interpersonal relationships, what about Wang Bailing? You can't find anyone in the school, and you can't find the north in the war, so how do you say Chiang Kai-shek still misses the old? I can't read it anymore. Moreover, as soon as Wang Bailing's uncle got angry, he caught whoever was doing it.
After the victory of the Kuomintang's Northern Expedition, Chiang Kai-shek sent Wang Bailing to seek Yunnan to return to the central government, because Long Yun was Wang Bailing's student, so Wang Bailing was very comfortable with doing things in Kunming, and Long Yun also wanted to use Chiang Kai-shek's big tree to suppress the dissident forces in Yunnan Province. Wang Bailing, who had made great contributions, naturally wanted to be rewarded, and Chiang Kai-shek promised him the post of mayor of Shanghai. Wang Bailing was very happy, and before the letter of appointment was issued, he ran to Shanghai. It doesn't matter if he arrives in Shanghai, but there is one person who picks on it. Who is it? Mrs. Ni, the old lady of the three Song sisters. The old lady spoke: "Maoru came to Shanghai, why didn't you come to see me?" These words reached Wang Bailing's ears, and he didn't know that the boss had committed the fairy temper, so he blurted out a sentence "She didn't marry her daughter to me, why did I go to see her?" "What did you say? All of a sudden, Mrs. Ni was knocked into the south wall. Mrs. Ni's three daughters, three sons-in-law and one son, these are all well-known figures in modern China, can she swallow this breath? As soon as the complaint was filed with Chiang Kai-shek, Wang Bailing's mayor of Shanghai was completely useless.
Wang Bailing's temperament is naturally not He Yingqin's opponent, Wang Bailing, who has fallen behind, often attacks He Yingqin in front of Chiang Kai-shek, and He Yingqin never says anything about Wang Bailing's rights and wrongs in front of Chiang Kai-shek. The implication is that you, Wang Bailing, "have an ancient heart". He Yingqin, who had eaten this reassuring pill, worked even harder to serve Chiang Kai-shek. Therefore, when Chiang Kai-shek asked who the students who often ran in front of his window were, He Yingqin didn't even say a "喀", and immediately said Lin Qian's name and place of origin. Chiang Kai-shek was even happier when he heard this, and the teaching group handed over to He Yingqin was the right step. He Yingqin tentatively asked Chiang Kai-shek if he wanted to summon Lin Qian. Chiang Kai-shek shook his head: "Don't worry, you have to train him for a while." He Yingqin hurriedly nodded yes.
The reason why Chiang Kai-shek was not in a hurry to summon Lin Qian was that he said that he would "train him for a while", and the other factor was that his "ear report" had not yet sent enough information about Lin Qian. Taking control of the Whampoa Military Academy was Chiang Kai-shek's main task at this time, although he handed over the teaching regiment to He Yingqin, how could he pin his trust on one person as the number one person in Whampoa? Zhuge Liang said: "If the husband is a general, he must have a heart, ears and eyes, and minions." Those who have no heart, such as people walking at night, are at a loss; Those who have no ears and eyes are like dwelling in the dark, and do not know how to move; Those who have no claws and teeth, like a hungry man who eats poison, will not die. Therefore, those who are good at generals must have those who are well-informed and wise as their hearts, those who are cautious and cautious as their eyes and ears, and those who are brave and good at their enemies as their minions. He Yingqin is Chiang Kai-shek's heart, and the minions, eagles, dogs, and ears and eyes are others. At that time, there were two main people who spied on Chiang Kai-shek in the military academy, one was Hu Jing'an, and the other was Zeng Guangqing.
Hu Jing'an recommended Dai Li for Chiang Kai-shek, and it can be said that without Hu Jing'an, there would be no later "Boss Dai"; Zeng Guangqing used a counter-plot for Chiang Kai-shek to get rid of Xu Jishen, a famous Red Army general who was one of the founders of the western Anhui base area. However, Chiang Kai-shek's final sentence to these two was: "Hu Jing'an is incompetent and shameless." ”
But at the moment, whether it is Chiang Kai-shek or He Yingqin, the first thing to consider is the big issue of the Eastern Crusade. After Sun Yat-sen went north, Chen Jiongming entangled a group of men and horses, threatened Guangzhou, and tried to relive the old dream. In February 1925, He Yingqin was ordered to lead the first regiment to participate in the Eastern Crusade. After this Eastern Expedition, Chiang Kai-shek especially saw He Yingqin and Wang Bailing clearly. At the beginning of the battle, Wang Bailing, as the commander of the second regiment, actually shelled friendly troops, although this was a mistake. But his confused energy made Chiang Kai-shek lose face. Jiang Yi was furious and dismissed Wang Bailing from his post as head of the Second Teaching Regiment. In the next "Battle of Cotton Lake", He Yingqin showed his skills. This battle not only made all the people in South China see clearly the strength of the Whampoa Student Army, but also made all the factions that coveted the Guangzhou regime gasp. After the battle, He Yingqin's regiment suffered one-third of the casualties, and the nine company commanders lost 6 killed and 3 wounded. When the battle was at its most difficult, Liao Zhongkai, the party representative of the Whampoa Military Academy, personally carried the ammunition, and Zhou Enlai, director of the Political Department of the Whampoa Military Academy and director of the party affairs organizations in various parts of the Dongjiang River, was always on the front line to boost morale. Chiang Kai-shek said to He Yingqin: "You must resist, you must not take a step back, if you are defeated here, Guangzhou will be in danger!" He Yingqin said: "I promise with my head that I will never take a step back." He turned around and ordered Chen Cheng, the commander of the artillery company: "As the commander of the artillery company, can't you even pull a few mountain guns?" Chen Cheng blushed and ran up to set up a cannon and fire, hitting the target with one shot. After the war, Chiang Kai-shek immediately announced that Chen Cheng had been promoted to battalion commander. Gallen (Bryucher), an adviser to the Soviet Union and one of the five founding marshals of the Soviet Union, unwound his saber and presented it to He Yingqin. The Battle of Mianhu achieved He Yingqin's lifelong fame, and also basically established his reputation as the second person in the Whampoa department. This residual power persisted even before and after the defeat of the Kuomintang on the mainland.
In the novel "Red Rock", a notorious spy leader Xu Pengfei was created, and the prototype of this person was called Xu Yuanju. He has the "nickname" of "Desperate San Lang" in the Kuomintang spy system, that is, in order to complete the tasks assigned by Shangfeng, he can not recognize his relatives and have no one in his eyes. In 1928, the "fledgling" Xu Yuan took the title to use Tang Shengzhi and Liu Zuolong to kill people, and then even put someone's daughter to bed (that is, Xu Yuanju's later wife Geng Jingwen). When he arrested Liu Guojun (the prototype of Liu Siyang in "Red Rock"), he had a dispute with He Beiheng, a powerful local leader in Sichuan. (He Beiheng is related to Liu Guojun) In the end, Liu Guojun's brother was transferred to He Yingqin's door, He Yingqin spoke, Xu Yuanju stopped, and afterwards he said to Shen Zui: "Mr. He has spoken, can I still not listen?" With a "vicious dog" like Xu Yuanju, he is still afraid of He Yingqin's prestige, let alone others.
Lin Qian, who was a student of the third phase of Whampoa, was soon involved in another political incident that shocked the top of the Kuomintang, and sincerely won Chiang Kai-shek's appreciation. This matter has to start with the "Liao case".
On March 12, 1925, Sun Yat-sen, the founder of the Kuomintang, died of illness in Beijing. After Sun Yat-sen left, the warlords Yang Ximin and Liu Zhenhuan launched a rebellion in Guangzhou and were put down by the Whampoa student army in one fell swoop. At this time, there was already an undercurrent surging in the Whampoa Military Academy, and the conflict between the "Young Servicemen's Federation" established in February 1925 as the core backbone and the Sun Wenist Society with the pro-Chiang faction as the core in the military academy became increasingly intense. Lin Qian himself is also facing an important choice. Both the Young Servicemen's Federation and the Sun Wenism Society were constantly "recruiting troops" in the school, and because the Sun Wenism Society had Dai Jitao's support and Chiang Kai-shek's tacit approval, and in particular, Wang Bailing, who was in charge of this matter, wanted to use this society to show his skills in front of Chiang Kai-shek, so the activities of the society were particularly rampant. He Jinhan and Deng Wenyi, the backbone of the Sun Wenism Society, lobbied everywhere and established the party. Someone also found Lin Qian and mobilized Lin Qian to join the club. Lin Qian didn't say anything, the Young Soldiers' Federation found Lin Qian, and Lin Qian also didn't say anything. Fang Jun whispered to Lin Qian in private: "Governor, if you do this, those people of the Sun Wenism Society still don't hate you?" Lin Qian smiled and said, "They don't have time to hate me now, they hate Jiang Xianyun and Xu Jishen the most." Fang Jun said: "They have hated these two for a long time, and it is not unusual. Lin Qian said: "Brother Shuxi, you don't know anything, and now there is another strange story in the military academy. Fang Jun was interested: "What anecdote?" Lin Qian said: "Everyone who joins the Sun-Wenism Society will be given three yuan to Dayang." Fang Jun said, "No, right? Isn't this a gang? Lin Qian: "Therefore, people now call the Sun Wenism Society 'Sanyuan Society'." Fang Jun thought about it for a while, and suddenly understood: "Could this be the idea that came up with over there, right?" Lin Qian nodded: "Now that He Jinhan of the Sun Wenism Society is suspected of being a trick by Jiang Xianyun and Xu Jishen, this matter has spread among the classmates, and everyone has a very bad impression of the Sun Wenism Society." Fang Jun said: "Jiang Xianyun and Xu Jishen will not do this kind of thing, these two are famous mavericks, and there must be someone else who does this." Lin Qian: "Anyway, the two families in front of us are in a mess, and we will wade into troubled waters." With the principal in mind, I don't care if I join the Sun Wenism Society. ”
Fang Jun guessed correctly, the initiators of the legend about the "Sanyuan Society" were indeed not Jiang Xianyun and Xu Jishen, but Yu Shandu. Yu Shandu, He Jinhan, and Deng Wenyi are all fellow villagers in Hunan, but they are not "fellow villagers see fellow villagers, tears are in their eyes", but "fellow villagers see fellow villagers, and give three shots in the back". Yu Shandu presided over the Blood Flower Drama Society very prominently, but there was no place for him in the Sun Wenism Society, so he worshiped Deng Yanda and prepared to start anew, and also secretly organized a group of people to oppose the Sun Wenism Society, and the "legend" of the "Sanyuan Society" was created by him at his instigation. Chiang Kai-shek later saw that the Youth Army Association (abbreviated as the Young Military Federation) and Sun Wenhui were incompatible, so he set up the Whampoa Alumni Association separately, and sent Zeng Kuoqing, a well-known "non-muddy" in the military academy, to serve as the secretary of the Whampoa Alumni Association and preside over the daily work of the alumni association. (Zeng Kuoqing has a very good relationship with various factions in the military academy, and never wades into muddy waters easily, known as "not mud") sent Yu Shandu to be the head of the propaganda section of the alumni association. Yu Shandu suddenly climbed on the heads of He Jinhan and Deng Wenyi, making them hate them to the bone, and later collected materials to squeeze out Yu Shandu, and Yu Shandu was finally defeated. In 1927, Yu Shandu participated in the famous "Autumn Harvest Uprising", which was originally developed in the direction of "proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation", but he did not persevere, left the team in the middle, and returned to the Kuomintang camp again, and entered the "Guest House for Rehabilitated Students", which belonged to the "runaway youth". In 1934, Yu Shandu fell out with Chiang Kai-shek's nephew Jiang Xiaoxian, and was put on the hat of "drug trafficking and drug possession" by Jiang Xiaoxian, and was brutally executed.
The most fundamental factor that Lin Qian did not participate in the Sun Wenism Society, he did not tell the truth to Fang Jun. Because he learned through Liu Tiancheng that He Yingqin was not satisfied with the Sun Wenism Society. Although He Yingqin himself had to join the Sun Wenism Society and pretend, he was extremely disgusted with this "dog skin plaster" that provided Wang Bailing with a stage for "salted fish rebirth", but it was just inconvenient for He Yingqin to hang it out directly. Therefore, when he learned that the Sun Wenism Society could not win over Lin Qian to join the club, he specially asked Liu Tiancheng to take care of Lin Qian, don't worry about retaliation, if someone embarrasses you, you can go to He Yingqin to complain. Moreover, He Yingqin also said Lin Qian's sentence "Keeping the principal in mind, not whether to join the Sun-Wenism Society" to Chiang Kai-shek at the right time. Therefore, when the people from the Sun Wenism Society ran to Chiang Kai-shek to give Lin Qian a small report, Chiang Kai-shek snorted and said, "You can't even pull a neutral like Lin Qian, what kind of organization do you have?" Chen Boda once said that the root of "politics" lies in following people.
The internal turmoil within the Whampoa Military Academy is only one of the manifestations of the secret struggle at the top level of the Kuomintang. After Sun Yat-sen left, there was a huge power vacuum in the Central Committee of the Kuomintang. Hu Hanmin, the "acting marshal," has the brand of a "rightist" and is narrow-minded, and there are many contradictions with Xu Chongzhi, who holds military power. And Liao Zhongkai, who is dedicated to the public, rushed to the forefront as always, and the new and old hatred of the Kuomintang right wing against him became particularly intensified because of Liao Zhongkai's frequent appearances. On August 20, 1925, Liao Zhongkai was assassinated in front of the Central Party Department. It is known as the "Liao case" in history. After this incident, Wang Jingwei, Chiang Kai-shek, and Xu Chongzhi formed a "special committee to deal with the Liao case", because the mastermind Hu Yisheng was Hu Hanmin's cousin, and Hu Hanmin couldn't explain clearly even if he was all over his mouth, so he had to leave the class gloomily. On August 26, the First Army of the National Revolutionary Army was established, and Chiang Kai-shek concurrently served as the commander. Chiang Kai-shek appointed He Yingqin as the commander of the First Division of the First Army. In September, the second "fruit" of the first round of cooperation between Chiang and Wang was ripe - Xu Chongzhi, the leader of the military rights faction of the Guangzhou Nationalist Government, had to step down. As early as when dealing with the Liao case, Wang Jingwei and Chiang Kai-shek had a high degree of tacit political understanding, that is, Chiang Kai-shek helped Wang Jingwei expel Hu Hanmin, so that Wang Jingwei could gain the status of the ruler of the Kuomintang party power and the Nationalist government. Then Wang Jingwei promised to let Xu Chongzhi get out of the way and give up the command of the army to Chiang Kai-shek. Xu Chongzhi was not only Chiang Kai-shek's immediate boss, (Xu served as commander-in-chief of the Guangdong Army, and Chiang Kai-shek also served as the chief of staff of the Guangdong Army) but also one of Chiang Kai-shek's leaders. But the biggest role of Xu Chongzhi at the moment is a stumbling block on Chiang Kai-shek's way forward, so there is no reason why Chiang Kai-shek will let Xu Chongzhi continue to "live".
On September 20, Chiang Kai-shek mobilized the Whampoa student army to surround Xu Chongzhi's residence, which was a lightning move, and Xu Chongzhi's descendants, the generals Xu Ji and Mo Xiong, were all kept in the dark, and the defensive troops of Xu Chongzhi's residence were not the opponent of the Whampoa student army at all. Lin Qian also participated in the expulsion of Xu Chongzhi. An unexpected episode occurred during the siege of Xu Chongzhi's residence.
Although the Whampoa Student Army is made up of Whampoa students, it is not a completely isolated background. Many of the people in the Whampoa Student Army used to be members of the Cantonese Army, and the two were intersecting. Moreover, Xu Chongzhi has a wide governance of the army and has always been good to his subordinates, and some people in the Whampoa student army are also very grateful to him. Liu Tiancheng felt bad as soon as he saw this posture, if he couldn't complete the task or didn't complete it well, not to mention that Chiang Kai-shek didn't agree, He Yingqin would be the first to abolish him. He looked at Lin Qian, who was standing on the side: "Chief, look..." Lin Qian: "Company commander, please give me ten people and three machine guns." Liu Tiancheng immediately agreed. Lin Qian took these ten people and three machine guns, and at once sealed a key news path leading to the headquarters of the Guangdong Army and Xu Chongzhi's residence. In this way, Lin Qian not only sealed the elbows and armpits of the Yue army after they might know the news, but also sealed the last bit of residual thought in the hearts of some of the Cantonese soldiers in the Whampoa Student Army. Because everyone knows that once this news road is blocked, not to mention the reinforcements of the Guangdong army, even a bird will not want to fly over, and Xu Chongzhi will be completely finished.
Xu Chongzhi couldn't wait for reinforcements, but he received a call from Chiang Kai-shek, in which Chiang Kai-shek told Xu Chongzhi: "Now the air in Guangdong is very unfavorable to the commander-in-chief, please ask the commander-in-chief to go outside to avoid the limelight, and when the situation is stable in the future, I will ask the commander-in-chief to come back and preside over the overall situation." Chiang Kai-shek also wrote a letter to Xu Chongzhi and asked someone to bring it. As soon as Xu Chongzhi read the letter, he knew that the general trend was gone, so he had to run away gloomily. However, "if you lose the east, you will reap the mulberry", Xu Chongzhi did lose a lot of his post as commander-in-chief of the Guangdong Army, but the handwritten letter from Chiang Kai-shek in his hand also became a "touchstone" for Xu Chongzhi in the future. As long as Xu Chongzhi was tight, he would stretch out his hand to Chiang Kai-shek to ask for money, and Chiang Kai-shek, no matter how big the amount, would never be ambiguous, and would send it to him. Later, Chiang Kai-shek asked Zhang Jingjiang and Wu Zhihui to come forward and give Xu Chongzhi a large sum of money to "redeem" the handwritten letter. However, when Chiang Kai-shek got the original of this long letter, he was stupid again, because the four corners of the original long letter had traces of thumbtacks pinned. Xu Chongzhi said to his cronies: "I just let him know that the debt he owes me will never be paid off." ”
Lin Qian's "kick in the door" made Chiang Kai-shek unforgettable, and he remembered it for a lifetime, until he was defeated and retreated to Taiwan, Chiang Kai-shek still remembered what Lin Qian did in the process of expelling Xu Chongzhi and could not forget it.
Why can't Chiang Kai-shek forget Lin Qian's "miraculous feat"? It's a long story. For example, a successful or mature politician has a big scale in his heart that can weigh the merits and merits of real weight. What is Miraculous Achievement? What is a dangerous work? What is great merit? What is head work? And so on and so forth. In the early years of the Han Dynasty, the emperor was a great hero, and the generals bared their teeth and said to Liu Bang that Xiao He had any merit and why was he named the first marquis in the world? Who is Liu Bang? Who is he facing? There are a few twists in their stomachs, and Liu Bang can see through them at a glance. Liu Bang said: "There are two kinds of meritorious service in the world, one is a meritorious person, and the other is a meritorious dog. Gongren is the one who guides the way, Gonggou is fatal, you guys talk about it, can Gongren and Gonggou be of the same magnitude? "The generals have lost their temper, and they dare to love that they are all "dogs", so what are they fighting for?
Specific to Chiang Kai-shek's expulsion of Xu Chongzhi, the impact on Chiang Kai-shek was too great. And this effect was also slowly pondered by Chiang Kai-shek after his second descent into the wilderness. When a person lives in the world, he should know what kind of role he is going to play and what kind of character he is playing. But in fact, there are very few that can be figured out. In the summer of the sixth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, there was a dialogue between Zeng Guofan, the head of the Hunan family, and his cronies and staff Zhao Liewen, who were high-level officials of the dynasty. Speaking of which, this is the second highest authority (only one notch lower than the highest authority), and I still haven't figured out my identity. Chiang Kai-shek was no less immune. When he first took office as the principal of the Whampoa Military Academy, he was still angry, in fact, he was "coquettish", but at least it shows that he did not pay enough attention to this tablet and did not have a considerable understanding, including He Yingqin. But Chiang Kai-shek's cleverness lies in the fact that once he enters the role, he quickly discovers the importance of the role. However, Chiang Kai-shek's mind was still not so clear about how important this importance was or how to really put it in an important position. This is also the origin of Chiang's rash clamor at the Third National Congress of the Kuomintang, and Chen Guofu and others elected themselves as the "president of the Republic of China." The sudden expansion of personal power made Chiang Kai-shek unaware or not soberly aware of what Ben was? What is End?
After the second comeback, Chiang Kai-shek's path changed, and he put all his thoughts on the direction of "governing the party with the army" and "governing the country with the army", serving as the chairman of the Military Commission of the Nationalist Government full-time, and giving the government's tablet to the hollow elders to do it, avoiding transactional things and focusing on real power. This was one of the signs of Chiang Kai-shek's political maturity. After more than ten years of operation, especially after the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, there has been a substantial change in the comparison between the local powerful faction and the central government before the war. The chamber of the chairman of the Military Commission has become a veritable modern version of the "Military Aircraft Department," and the military and central commands are like mercury pouring into the ground, and they are pervasive. On Chiang Kai-shek's path of personal centralization, the "military party theory" gave him infinite "strength." However, the great victory of the Anti-Japanese War made Chiang Kai-shek get carried away, including some important people around him. The agitation and restlessness of the Anglo-American faction made Chiang Kai-shek's "presidential complex" at the "Third National Congress of the Kuomintang" begin to move again. In fact, the Kuomintang's constitutional congress was the most stinky move, offending all forces in the world and dividing the party. Moreover, this impractical hat of "The President of the Republic of China" completely destroyed the Whampoa and Gui lines, the last two pillars of the KMT.
The huge price paid by Chiang Kai-shek in order to become president is well known. Before becoming president, Li Zongren was still the number one person on the surface of the new Gui department, but after becoming president, there was no benefit at all except for the order not being able to get out of Stone Town, and Bai Chongxi, the second person in the new Gui department, seized the overall power of the new Gui system, and Li and Bai became history. The best sentence Cao Cao said in his life, and it is also the biggest summary of his life in politics, is that "you can't be fame and deal with real trouble", so although Sima Guang doesn't look down on Cao Mengde, he also admits that Cao Cao is "difficult to be fake". It's a pity that Cao Cao's famous sentence may not be understood by future generations of politicians. A mature politician never cares about the so-called reputation on the surface. Hanging the sign of the No. 2 or even No. 3 person, and doing the things of the No. 1 person, this is the "right way in the world" for politicians. Chiang Kai-shek only thought about this again on the eve of the defeat and retreat to the mainland, and only then did he have another epiphany. Therefore, after arriving in Taiwan, Chiang Kai-shek did not allow Chiang Ching-kuo to easily come to the fore at various stages of cultivating Chiang Ching-kuo's "ascendancy", and all the various positions he assumed were all in vain and pragmatic, and it was not until the time was ripe that he was allowed to take over the Ministry of National Defense and the Executive Yuan. Therefore, whenever Chiang Kai-shek remembered the process of expelling Xu Chongzhi and laying the foundation for his "military party beginning" in one fell swoop, he would especially appreciate Lin Qian's "miraculous achievements".
Chiang Kai-shek decided to meet this simple, hard-working young man. At this time, although Chiang Kai-shek was not yet the "leader of the party-state" who later held more than 100 important posts, in the minds of many Whampoa students, this big man who was the principal of the Kuomintang Army Military Academy, the commander of the Guangzhou garrison, and the commander of the First Army of the National Revolutionary Army was enough to decide their future fate. Accepting Chiang Kai-shek's summons is not news among Whampoa's students, at least not the first time. Moreover, many of the essentials of meeting Chiang Kai-shek in various versions were also quietly circulated among Whampoa, and some of them were actually very effective. It is the only way for some people to rise to prominence through summons.
Whampoa students summoned by Chiang Kai-shek generally had to undergo two kinds of tests, one was "face-to-face" and the other was "interrogation". Chiang Kai-shek had a history of wandering the rivers and lakes in his early years, so he was very willing to study a person's "face". As far as Jiang is concerned, he is also a person who pays a lot of attention to appearance. The first "dismount" he gave to these Whampoa students was military appearance and discipline. Young people who have just entered the military academy have no perceptual and rational understanding of how soldiers should behave properly. Once, Chiang Kai-shek asked these Whampoa students: "Do you know how to wear a military hat?" The students were stunned, they used to wear it every day, not so much to wear it, but to buckle it when they were in a hurry. Chiang Kai-shek immediately demonstrated in person - when wearing a military cap, pinch the cockade with the index finger and middle finger, and aim the second joint of the thumb at the bridge of the nose. Only in this way can the military hat be crowned with a standard and upright crown. When the students saw it, they were all convinced. In the end, he is the principal, and he has been to Japan. This habit was still emphasized by Chiang Kai-shek in his later years. When he was in power in Taiwan, one day he saw his grandson Jiang Xiaoyong returning from elementary school, and his head was shaved brightly. Chiang Kai-shek wondered, why did the little guy shave his good hair into a bald head? He asked Jiang Xiaoyong the reason, and Jiang Xiaoyong replied that this was because the school teachers were responding to the call of the "president" to "lie down and try courage and counterattack the mainland" and learn the spirit of the "president" and "bald revolution", so all students must shave their heads. Chiang Kai-shek was so angry that he said in front of his grandson: "The reason why I shaved my head at the beginning was not a bald revolution, one was the appearance of a soldier, and the other is that I don't have much hair, and it is slender, so it looks better if I shave it." Subsequently, Chiang Kai-shek ordered that schools should not engage in any "skinhead revolution" for students.
The ancient Chinese had a famous saying: "Yan skin does not wrap the bones", and Yao Xing, the emperor of the Later Qin Empire, particularly respected this. Chiang Kai-shek was no exception. In fact, just look at the appearance of the famous "Eight King Kongs" under Chiang Kai-shek - He Yingqin, Chen Cheng, Qian Dajun, Zhang Zhizhong, Chen Jiji, Jiang Dingwen, Gu Zhutong, Liu Zhi and others. However, judging people by their appearance is not as good as judging them by their talents. Xu Xiangqian, who is not striking, is the best example of Chiang Kai-shek's blindness. Chiang Kai-shek was not deeply impressed by Xu Xiangqian, who spoke Shanxi dialect and had a mediocre appearance, and could not imagine that this person's military ability would later lead to the three armies.
Chiang Kai-shek's questioning is usually not about family life, but about your study, life and hobbies. The more questions you ask, the more you will inevitably have similarities. In particular, when asked what books you have read recently, some people deliberately said that they had read "The Complete Works of Zeng Wenzhenggong" or "Zeng Hu Zhibing's Instructions" and so on, and Chiang Kai-shek occasionally asked about some content, but he was very happy to hear such an answer. "The noble are the most stupid, and the lowly are the smartest", at least in terms of deceiving or deceiving superiors, as a subordinate, there is a certain amount of effort. And, generally speaking, the more you are at the top, the more difficult it is to reach the bottom of the situation. As far as the "lower feelings" themselves are concerned, it is also a valuable resource, and the subordinates have some living space because they are familiar with the "lower feelings", and if this resource is monopolized by the superiors, then the subordinates have to die. Therefore, the controlled use and selective supply of "subordinate feelings" are compulsory courses for subordinates, and if anyone fails to complete this course, he is not worthy of being a subordinate again. For thousands of years, one of the many contradictions between superiors and subordinates is the problem of "ventilation".
The purpose of the politicians' conversations is clear: to win hearts and minds. When Chen Bui recalled his impressions after a conversation with Chiang Kai-shek in Shanghai, he said with emotion that the moment he saw Chiang Kai-shek, he felt to himself: At this moment, I am willing to do whatever Chiang Kai-shek asks me to do. A belief in the death of a confidant rises in the chest.
However, neither the summoned nor the summoned have time to consider these minor details at this time. Chen Jiongming, who is not dead in his thieving heart, is ready to make a comeback. This time, Chen Jiongming has increased some capital than before, echoing Deng Benyin, who is entrenched in Guangdong South Road. The Nationalist Government decided to launch the Second Eastern Crusade to completely exterminate Chen Jiongming. On September 28, 1925, the Eastern Expeditionary Army was established, Chiang Kai-shek served as the commander-in-chief of the Eastern Expeditionary Army, Zhou Enlai served as the director of the General Political Department of the Eastern Expeditionary Army, and He Yingqin concurrently served as the commander of the first column of the Eastern Expeditionary Army. The focus of the Eastern Expeditionary Army's attack was on Huizhou, the old nest of the Chen family's army. Lin Qian also participated in this battle, which was the first field battle in his life.
However, what Lin Qian learned in this field battle was not the cruelty of war, but the treacherous opportunity on the battlefield. Lin Qian was subordinate to the Third Regiment of the First Division of the First Army of the National Revolutionary Army at that time, and the regiment commander was Qian Dajun. Qian Dajun is a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province (born in Kunshan, Jiangsu, moved to Suzhou with his father at the age of four, and his resume has always been filled in as a native of Suzhou). Moreover, in Vanity Fair, most of them can show at least superficial tranquility. During the Republic of China, the leaders of various factions and forces that did not belong to the authentic lineage of the Kuomintang all liked Qian Dajun, among which Zhang Xueliang and Qian Dajun were especially close friends. Qian Dajun himself once served as the captain of the ninth artillery team at the Baoding Military Academy, and Chen Cheng was Qian Dajun's out-and-out student at that time. In 1936, Qian Dajun, who had been elected as a member of the Fifth Central Executive Committee of the Kuomintang, was arranged by Chiang Kai-shek to be the chief of staff of the Guangzhou Xingying, chairman of the Military Commission of the Nationalist Government, and the director of the camp was actually Chen Cheng, a student of Qian Dajun that year. Chiang Kai-shek, including He Yingqin, Chen Cheng and others, all thought that Qian Dajun might not be willing to do it, but when Chiang Kai-shek asked Qian Dajun's opinion, Qian Dajun actually didn't care: "Everything in the world is changing, and a gentleman can be a student, and a student can also be a gentleman." And this was said for a while. At that time, Chen Cheng was away most of the time, and the daily work of the Guangzhou camp was controlled by Qian Dajun, although Chen Cheng was named the director, but the real power was in the hands of Qian Dajun.
Qian Dajun's third regiment was stationed in Boluo and was tasked with defending the general headquarters of Chiang Kai-shek's Eastern Expeditionary Army. There are two nicknames in Qian Dajun's life that best describe Qian Dajun's personality. The first is "Whampoa Egg", and the second is "Money Big Hook" (also known as "Hook Big Money"). Let's start with the first nickname. He Yingqin's nickname "Granny He" refers to He Yingqin's actual status in the Whampoa camp, second only to Chiang Kai-shek's "old woman" who was the "old husband". The nickname of Qian Dajun's "Whampoa Egg" vividly reproduces the relationship between Chiang Kai-shek and Qian Dajun.
Chiang Kai-shek had a bad tooth and mouth, and he had a bit of a hard time eating. Generally, you have to pick something soft to eat first. Therefore, eggs are particularly to Chiang Kai-shek's taste. For example, Hitler was especially fond of cooking eggs, and the chefs around him could even concoct more than 100 kinds of egg-based diets. However, we all know that the phrase "governing a big country is like cooking a small fresh", that is to say, "cooking a small fresh" is often the most difficult. Yuan Mei, a genius of the Qing Dynasty, also liked to eat eggs, especially egg custard (chicken cakes in the north). Once, when he ate an incomparably delicious egg custard, he asked the chef how to make it, and the chef might be in a bad mood that day, so he fooled Yuan Mei and said, "This egg has to be stirred a hundred times." Yuan Mei didn't hear that this was a "bubble person", so he wrote this matter into his notes and continued to "fool" his descendants.
Qian Dajun paid special attention to Chiang Kai-shek's daily life and diet, and Chiang Kai-shek's security and security work were all handled by Qian Dajun. Once, Chiang Kai-shek said casually: "I don't know when I will be able to eat 'Whampoa eggs' again." words. Qian Dajun immediately went to find someone to handle it. The experience of this "Huangpu egg" is a bit similar to Zhu Yuanzhang's "pearl jade and white jade soup", when Chiang Kai-shek passed through Huangpu Port, he ate scrambled eggs cooked by a person named "Yan's mother", which was particularly impressive and had an endless aftertaste. In fact, there is no special secret to this "Whampoa egg", which is to cook and fry on high heat, and then put chopped green onions, and then stir up. At the beginning, the people sent down were not found, Qian Dajun was anxious, and he took the guards to the surrounding countryside to investigate, it was really a painstaking person, Yan's mother really found Qian Dajun, the old man was nearly sixty years old, and his body was still tough, but his ears were not so smart. Qian Dajun asked the old lady to cook Whampoa eggs for Chiang Kai-shek again, Chiang Kai-shek feasted, praised repeatedly, Yan's mother later told the chef around Chiang Kai-shek about this craft, Chiang Kai-shek every time he ate Whampoa eggs, he must think of Qian Dajun's "hard work", and the thoughts in it are naturally self-evident. The nickname of "Whampoa Egg" is pressed on Qian Dajun's head, which is reasonable. Therefore, Qian Dajun was promoted quite quickly among the instructors of the Whampoa Military Academy, and once acted as He Yingqin's chief of education and even as Chiang Kai-shek's military academy principal. Later, a sentence that often hung on Qian Dajun's lips was: "Leaders are also people." ”
This time he was stationed in Boluo, and as usual, Qian Dajun was responsible for guarding Chiang Kai-shek's safety. According to Chiang Kai-shek's original intention, he wanted to transfer Chiang Xianyun to be the leader of his guard troops. Jiang Xianyun is the head of the "Three Heroes of Whampoa" (Jiang Xianyun, He Jinhan, and Chen Geng are also known as the "Three Heroes of Whampoa"), he is a native of Hunan, but Chiang Kai-shek has always wanted to have a relationship with him, and once asked Jiang Xianyun to be his secretary. In 1927, when Chiang Kai-shek's special car passed through Liling, Chiang Kai-shek sent a special person to invite Jiang Xianyun's old father-in-law, Li Lisan's father, Li Shisi, to come to talk. However, even so, Jiang Xianyun did not turn back, and Jiang Xianyun, who did not hesitate, still plunged headlong into the camp of the CCP. However, among his comrades-in-arms and comrades, there were many people who were suspicious and suspicious of Jiang Xianyun, which made Jiang Xianyun extremely distressed, and he revealed a lot in his casual conversation with Li Yiyu. In the Battle of Linying in May 1927, Jiang Xianyun was wounded three times and could not leave the line of fire, and finally died. Li Yilu said: "He made up his mind to die on the battlefield to show his loyalty to the party." He believed that only in this way could those who doubted him finally believe that Chiang Xianyun had not been bought by Chiang Kai-shek. Unwarranted suspicion is terrifying. ”
Chiang Xianyun was reluctant to transfer his troops to Chiang Kai-shek as a guard, and he bluntly stated that he would rather stain the battlefield with blood than take care of the family. If someone else said this to Qian Dajun, Qian Dajun would have been annoyed, but Jiang Xianyun was no one else after all, he was Chiang Kai-shek's favorite general. Therefore, Qian Dajun had no choice but to say with a wry smile: "Brother, how can you call the headmaster a guard to take care of the home?" In this way, Qian Dajun selected Liu Tiancheng's company as Chiang Kai-shek's guard. Liu Tiancheng naturally regarded this as a beautiful difference, and he said to Lin Qian: "This Jiang Xianyun doesn't know where his brain moves, he insists on serving the battlefield, although the spirit is commendable, but isn't the commander-in-chief of the guard just as glorious?" Moreover, it will make the commander-in-chief look at it with blue eyes, I really don't know what these sub-communists think? This incident left a deep impression on Lin Qian, and it was not until ten years later, when he had a dialogue with Hu Tiantao, the commander of the captured Red Army, that the past preserved in the depths of his memory was re-hooked, making Lin Qian fall into deep thought for a long time.
As soon as Lin Qian's company entered the role, an alarm came. It turned out that after reconnaissance, it was discovered that there was a "Chen family army" that was raiding in the direction of Boluo. Qian Dajun ordered the guard company to immediately prepare to protect the safe evacuation of the general headquarters. Lin Qian felt that this order was strange, because Liu Tiancheng had previously revealed to him that a large number of Chen Jiongming's troops had been contained on the front line, and He Yingqin had transferred all the backbone forces of the First Division to defend the Boluo General Headquarters. Liu Tiancheng patted Lin Qian's shoulder and said, "Brother Zuomin, if you don't do things, you can't do anything, and it's useless to be tired. Now Qian Dajun is our owner, if you don't listen to him, who will give you if you are in trouble? ”
Liu Tiancheng and the others were in full swing, and as soon as Chiang Kai-shek came in, he lost his temper and was furious: "Who is doing what?" The people below reported to him, and Chiang Kai-shek became even more angry when he heard it: "Call me Qian Dajun!" As soon as Qian Dajun arrived, it was a training to split his head and cover his face, and Chiang Kai-shek patted the table and said: "Find Chen Geng for me, I want Chen Geng to be my guard company commander!" Qian Dajun wiped his sweat and explained: "Junzuo, Chen Geng is a member of the Communist Party." Chiang Kai-shek was furious: "What happened to the Communist Party? Aren't the Kuomintang members angry, Huizhou iron buckets are general, and it wasn't Jiang Xianyun, the Communist Party, who went up first? Before the enemy arrived, we were in disarray, where is the spirit of a soldier? You go and get Chen Geng for me! ”
Huizhou is the old camp where Chen Jiongming has been entrenched for many years, and it is easy to defend and difficult to attack. He Yingqin and Soviet adviser Cherepanov personally supervised the battle, and Liu Yaochen, commander of the Fourth Regiment of the First Division and a member of the Old League, led the attacking team to Huizhou City, but unfortunately was shot and died. At Zhou Enlai's suggestion to change to a chain siege method, Jiang Xianyun, the party representative of the Seventh Regiment, led the first group to attack the city first, and Chen Geng and the second group followed up. At 3:30 p.m. on October 14, 1925, Jiang Xianyun was the first to board Huizhou City, and Chen Geng was the first to plant the red flag of the National Revolutionary Army on the city. After Chiang Kai-shek learned about this, he said repeatedly: "It's still Chen Geng, it's still Chen Geng." In the Whampoa Military Academy, the "Whampoa Three Heroes" have their own merits, and there is a saying among the classmates that is called: "Jiang Xianyun's pen, He Zhenhan's mouth, and Chen Geng's legs." ”
The characteristics of Chen Geng's troops are that they are diligent, fast, and long. This merit and characteristic were not only appreciated by Chiang Kai-shek, but later when others saw Chen Geng and his troops charging into battle from the telescope, they couldn't help but praise and say: "Chen Gengxing, can be a military commander!" "This time, Chen Genglian was transferred to serve as a guard unit, and thanks to Chen Geng's leg, Chiang Kai-shek's life was saved. not only saved Chiang Kai-shek, but also saved Qian Dajun.
