Chapter 20: A Good Idea
As Carl officially entered his first teaching week, so did the assignments.
It wasn't the stern Professor McGonagall, or the ever-smiling Professor Sprout, who was the first to raise the matter, but Professor Binns, who had been reading his lecture notes dryly.
This incident stunned all the students in class at the time, and in fact, many students who slept heavily did not know that the history of magic class had assigned homework until the end of class.
Cedric was the only one who actually heard the assignment, and with great perseverance he adapted to Professor Binns' hypnotic tone, jotting it down in a half-asleep state.
Then he was completely sober and became a sweetheart again after class.
Everyone rushed over curiously, wondering what the so-called homework was, what were the requirements, and most importantly, how?
There is no doubt that Cedric was able to solve all the links of this problem.
Not only did he write down what the assignment was, but more importantly, his notes were the most complete in the entire class.
It is precisely because of Cedric's presence that Carl can confidently choose to solve this problem with magic - he specially asked Percy to learn a very useful spell: "Copy Charm".
After each class, he would borrow a copy of Cedric's notebook and copy it, and wait until dinner to copy a handwritten version.
As for the history of magic lesson?
Carl chose to study on his own.
He first took out the Theory of Magic and studied it. But the dull words, and the dull voice of Professor Binns, made for a duo that was so effective that he fell asleep faster than Lee Jordan next to him!
That time, after being pushed awake by Fred, Carl realized that he had done something stupid.
So for the rest of his history of magic classes, he chose to read books borrowed from the library.
In order to ensure that he would not be hypnotized by the ghosts on the podium, he even asked Hattings to help him get two balls of cotton to make a pair of earplugs.
Looking at the students gathered around Cedric, and seeing Cedric's troubled expression, Carl blinked when he thought of something.
"Cedric." Carl squeezed into the crowd and said to Cedric, "Give me the notes." ”
"But ······" Cedric hesitated, but eventually handed it to Carl, who knew that Carl had learned the Copy Charm, but was skeptical that Carl would be able to copy so many copies in one go.
"Of course." Carl said confidently.
He glanced at it and found that the homework was actually to write a summary, briefly combing through the deeds of famous wizards in the classical era of Greece, there was no word count requirement, but it had to be written in ten inches, and it would be handed in the following Monday.
Well, there is plenty of time, but this is not an assignment that can be completed by just relying on a few poor lines in the textbook, and you need to borrow more books.
Karl pondered for a moment, then looked up at Cedric and said, "We might have to go to the library and need to find some materials." ”
Cedric looked at him with a wry smile on his face, but did not speak.
Carl then noticed that the students around him were staring at him, or rather, the notes in their hands, to be exact.
He smiled, took out his wand, and said to the people around him, "How many people here need notes?" ”
Soon, the number of people was counted, and there were forty-six people in all.
Carl asked the students around him to give way slightly, and his wand pointed at the notebook, and whispered the incantation: "Copy in pairs." ”
With a swipe of his hand, the notebook lying flat on the table immediately trembled, and then, in the amazed gaze of everyone, the uncountable parchment suddenly erupted like ash from a volcano.
The students thought it was amusing and laughed and picked up notes from the air.
"My magic lasts about a day? Hurry up and copy it. ”
This is what Percy told him, that the items of the Copy Charm cannot be kept forever, and that magic plays an important role in them. Not only does the magic determine the details of the duplicated item, but as the magic fades, many of the details will get worse and worse.
So he usually copied it after he had dinner in the evening. Of course, he would always make a copy note for Lee Jordan, Fred, and George to copy it themselves.
However, the twins have always been very resistant to such boring things, so they come up with a solution for themselves.
Given that Cedric's notes were in short supply, the clever Fred found a good solution to the "dilemma" after pondering and discussing it with Carl:
Fred and George claimed that they were able to borrow Cedric's class notes in the first place, and the two of them had their own notes copied by the two girls with the best handwriting, Angelina and Arya, in return for the two of them having the highest priority in the original "Cedric" notes.
Then the four freshly baked notebooks were taken by the rest of the people.
On the surface, it was a good deal, and everyone was happy with it — except for Lee Jordan, who sometimes scribbled notes and lamented how he didn't think there was such a solution.
However, Angelina reacted at this time, and she exclaimed, "Fred, George, that's the note you lent us!" ”
Karl's expression was subtle, and he silently moved towards the door.
Well.
It's also good for Fred and George.
Of course, you have to copy the notes yourself, otherwise what will you do during the exam?
In this way, he can be regarded as fulfilling Mrs. Weasley's request. Carl thought happily.
Fred and George, who were exposed, did not give up struggling, and Fred took the lead and said, "We're borrowing real notes, right, Cedric!" ”
Cedric was confused, he was an honest child: "What note, Fred, do you have trouble with your eyes?" ”
"I'm George." Fred said, looking at Angelina, who had rolled up her sleeves, "There must be some misunderstanding here." Angelina, you calm down first. I guess Fred can explain ······"
As he said this, he had already moved to the edge of the crowd, and when everyone looked at his own brother, he ran out of the door without hesitation.
"It was all Fred's idea!" George, who had a heart-to-heart with Fred, wanted to run, but Carl, who had already reacted, immediately blocked the road.
Looking at the girls who had already rolled up their sleeves, George immediately swore a curse, "I am firmly against it, I don't believe you asked Carl!" ”
Angelina looked at Carl, "Carl, you already knew about it, didn't you?" ”
Karl's face was serious: "I don't know, otherwise why would I help you stop him?" ”
George's eyes widened, and he opened his mouth to expose Carl's ugly face.
Carl looked at Lee Jordan: "Lee, you saw it at the time, didn't you?" Fred only said that he was asking me to borrow notes. ”
As soon as Lee Jordan nodded, George, who had already reacted, hurriedly said: "That's right, Fred did everything!" ”
"Aren't you Fred?" Alia, who hadn't turned her head yet, asked subconsciously.
"I'm George!" George immediately argued, "Fred has already run away, he is the mastermind!" I wanted to copy it, Carl and Lee did it themselves, but Fred said he had a brilliant idea. ”
"You must know that he is my brother, and although I am against him, I can only support him." George's expression was very serious, as if what he said was true.
"Now, I can take you to him!"
In the end, Fred did not escape the pursuit of the two girls.
The Gryffindor maidens told everyone with their fists and wands, deceiving the lioness of fate.
"So, you're just throwing things at me!?"
Fred, who had just returned from the school doctor's office, sat at the dining table, his face still a little puffy, and said dissatisfiedly, "George, we are brothers!" Shouldn't you take the initiative to take the blame? ”
"Fred, why didn't you think of your brother when you ran!?" George said with a grin.
At Carl's prompting, he went ashore safely, and Fred took everything on his back.
"I thought you'd ······"
Lee Jordan sat at the table and watched the two arguing, drinking hot black tea, and said to Carl, "They're all good girls, aren't they?" ”
Karl looked at the scene in front of him with a smile and nodded.
He's really good for the twins.
By no means like Lee Jordan, jealous of Fred who came up with a great idea.
