Chapter 65: The Last Life of Summer Vacation
When he got home, he looked at the beautiful invitation, hesitated for a long time, and finally wrote a letter to decline the invitation.
Although the Weasleys didn't say anything, Carl could clearly feel that Mr. Weasley's expression was much lighter after he had rejected Professor Caro at dinner.
For the rest of the summer, Carl basically lived in the Burrow and continued to practice magic.
For this purpose, Mr. Weasley lent his workshop to Carl.
In addition to a large clearing where he could practice magic, there was also a small room, where Mr. Weasley researched his "hobbies".
Perhaps out of a more intimate attitude, or simply out of kindness, Mr. Weasley invited Carl to come over and help.
"Bill has helped me, Fred and George, and you can come over if you're interested." Mr. Weasley sighed at the mention of his son, "It's a pity that Charlie and Percy aren't interested in that. β
At first, Carl really thought he was going to help, but when he went over, he realized that it wasn't quite like that.
Mr. Weasley took him from scratch to learn little by little the intricacies of magic contained in his seemingly simple "hobby".
This part of the magical knowledge is quite complex and quite esoteric. Like Professor Caro's Dark Arts, Professor Snape's Potions, and Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration, they are self-contained, and when you dig deeper, you realize that they all have a wide world.
Frankly, without Mr. Weasley's guidance, Carl would have thought that magic prop making was something as simple as a wand and magic at the touch of a tool.
After all, apart from the Sorting Hat, Carl had never seen a magic item that could be kept for a long time, and the toys sold in those toy stores would basically fail due to magic failure after a few months, and eventually be completely scrapped.
He had always thought it was because of the loss of his magic, but from what he had learned from Mr. Weasley, it wasn't as simple as it seemed, and it was a rather complex puzzle that had always puzzled wizards.
Even now, all wizards who love power-ups are still trying to find better ways to make their magic items last longer.
And unlike Carl's impression that magic props are basically equal to toys, Mr. Weasley's items are much more Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·
Carl was hardly convincing, especially in a house like this shabby.
But there is no doubt that the research environment is too rudimentary, and the research is less fanatical (Mr. Weasley only tinkers with this during his breaks), and that Mr. Weasley's research is more like "magic".
How do you keep magic long? How can you give more and more powerful magical functions? How to make things smarter?
In Mr. Weasley's mouth, it was as if Carl could see a real living house.
It helps Mrs. Weasley with household chores such as cooking, laundry, mopping, babysitting, etc., while being able to remind her family members what to do, like equipping her with many house-elves (Mr. Weasley said that these are servants of the wizarding world).
"At that time, everything in the family can be handed over to these magic props, and Molly will be able to be completely idle." Mr. Weasley said happily.
He was seldom so happy, for few people would ever sit down and listen to him talk about his strange ideas. Mrs. Weasley tends to just roll her eyes and just listen to jokes. She insisted that wands and magic were enough, and that their family needed a house-elf at most.
"Even further, I can make a dummy that works in my place, and then we can do something more meaningful, like go on a trip."
Carl remembered the magical clock he had seen in the living room of the Burrow, which was clearly part of the Weasley family heritage.
The historic family wasn't exactly what Mr. Weasley himself claimed, and they kept their love of magic items alive in addition to the land and the clock.
Of course, from a horizontal point of view, it is too far away from the future that Mr. Weasley envisions, and it is no wonder that Mrs. Weasley is completely unavoidable.
It's not impossible, though, as Carl remembered the Sorting Hat, and no doubt this is proof of the future possibilities that Mr. Weasley had imagined.
Realizing the value of Mr. Weasley's teachings, Carl forcibly brought in Fred and George, who had been playing Quidditch.
After experiencing the initial complaints, the twins quickly jumped into it. However, they didn't have Mr. Weasley's grand wishes, and after a simple study of the basics, the twins' inspiration was opened, and they began to try to reproduce the magic toys.
The most fundamental motivation for this is poverty, and for Fred and George, who love to play, if they can make their own products, they will definitely save a lot of money.
However, this is obviously not something that can be done so easily, and they are still in the rookie stage.
Mr. Weasley, on the other hand, was so pleased with Fred and George's dedication that he secretly thanked Carl for doing so, and showed him his most proud work, a truly magical car.
The car was the embodiment of Mr. Weasley's lifelong learning, and in addition to the flying charm, Weasley was also doing other modifications, including a stealth booster, expanding the space inside, and more importantly, imparting wisdom to the car that he had always wanted to try.
"Carl, take a good look at this car." He stroked the sky-blue front cover that had been opened, and his eyes flashed with hope, "It will take more than a year to complete, this is a big project." By the time Ginny went to school, the current car wouldn't fit so many of us. β
Mr. Weasley listened as if he could hear the noise of the magic in the car: "I have a hunch, Carl, maybe this car will succeed, and I can feel something brewing in the magic." β
"Don't tell Molly, though." Mr. Weasley blinked, "I wanted to surprise herβI lied to her that I would only take this car apart to see its internals." β
A happy smile appeared on his face.
"Although I lied to her like this last time." Mr. Weasley added. "She always thought our car was just a Muggle car."
When people get busy, time always flies, and when he sits down at the table and sees Mrs. Weasley's sumptuous dinner, he realizes that today is the last night of the summer vacation.
Fred and George didn't make a big fuss this time, just celebrated with their homemade fireworks.
The next day, in the midst of a rush β something the Weasleys always seemed to be caught up in β except Percy β they ended up getting on the train before it left.
