Chapter 66: New Semester
The Hogwarts Freshman Dinner was still sumptuous, and unlike last year's panic, this time Carl and the others sat at the table and became part of the intimidation of the freshmen.
Looking at the group of freshmen who walked into the hall tremblingly, as if they were going to the slaughterhouse, Fred couldn't help but mutter, "Were we like this last year?" โ
"I think it's worse than them." Lee Jordan interjected, "Don't forget, there's no damn Peeves messing around this year. โ
Soon entering the sorting ceremony, Carl made a rough count and found that the number was even smaller than their current class.
He knew it was due to the war, but he didn't expect it to have such serious consequences.
However, thanks to the number of stabs, Carl suddenly realizes that the Great Savior will be entering Hogwarts next year.
I don't know what he looks like now? Carl thought to himself that since he could get Dumbledore's approval, he should have shown enough magical talent by now.
Gryffindor was very coincidental this year, there were still only two girls, and the girl named Katie Bell was quickly pulled by Angelina and Alya. They soon chatted enthusiastically, and it was evident that this was another warm and cheerful girl, and the other girl, Linee, listened quietly.
Next to Lee Jordan sat a boy named Cowmike McLagan, who looked silly, but with the arrogance that Carl had seen in a Slytherin student.
The disgusting smell came from his mouth and said, "The Weasleys? My dad and I mentioned you. "You can smell it.
Fortunately, he didn't really have malicious intentions, but was just stupid, so he was quickly wittily diverted from the topic by Lee Jordan.
Then Carl listened to a whole bunch of Quidditch.
This Mr. McLagan has a rather unconvinced spirit, and has his own unique opinion on Quidditch - if he doesn't open his mouth and shut up, it would be "my dad took me to see it live", "I've seen xxx", "Do you know the ball?" With these words, he might be a little more popular with Fred and George.
However, Carl also silently mourned for this stunned young man in his heart, he may not know who he provoked, Fred and George are not as generous as him.
I hope he has a good life as a freshman.
For the rest of the week, Karl and the others were quiet, and Fred, George, and Lee Jordan surprisingly didn't complain about the peace of life โ not even the sight of Snape's stinky face on Monday.
It wasn't until Wednesday of the following week, with an astronomy lesson in the evening, that Carl noticed that the men were still flying around with broomsticks, that he realized that the Gryffindor Quidditch selection was about to begin this weekend.
Gryffindor's Quidditch squad is strong and well-staffed, graduating this year with just one chaser and two batsmen.
There are far more than three Gryffindor second-year Quidditch lovers โ they can make a good team.
Here Fred and George are the most stable battersmen, at least to outsiders.
However, the twins and Karl both know it, and Charlie has made it clear at home that the selection of the team has been handed over to the next captain, Wood.
Coupled with the fact that there were other grades competing, even Fred and George were rarely a little apprehensive.
"Are you going to see our tryouts tomorrow?"
At dinner on Friday night, Lee Jordan suddenly asked.
Without the slightest hesitation, Karl replied, "No, do you want me to go?" โ
This answer made everyone else who was listening to it breathe a sigh of relief, and then shook their heads.
They weren't a big group, but everyone except Carl was going to be Quidditch tomorrow, and whoever Carl was cheering for would make the other one sad.
In this matter, they are direct competitors, and there is no possibility of a win-win situation.
"But I'll prepare a dinner party for you tomorrow." Karl said slowly, "Reward the winners, and comfort the losers." You need a dinner party, don't you? โ
Karl's words made the others smile, and they all thought of the dinner after last year's game with the Hufflepuff freshmen.
"Of course." Fred cheered, "This time I can show you the surprises that George and I have carefully prepared for the summer vacation." โ
George winked at the others: "We learned to make fireworks this summer, and we made a lot of fireworks." โ
"Hey! George! Fred said displeasedly, "How can you reveal the surprise directly!" โ
"Isn't that what you're hinting at?" George said, "If people want to buy fireworks in the future, they can come to us, and our fireworks are one nat cheaper than Jokowi's." โ
Fred was stunned for a moment, then nodded at the others: "That's right, that's it, everyone is welcome to buy our fireworks." โ
On Saturday morning, Fred and George woke up early, and Lee Jordan was even more exaggerated, he didn't sleep much all night because of his nervousness, but fortunately his skin could hide a lot of exhaustion.
"I need a pick-me-up." Lee Jordan regretted, "I knew it! I should have been ready. โ
He suddenly thought of a possibility and looked at Karl: "You said that if I went to Madam Pomfrey and said that I had a coldยทยทยทยทยทยท
Carl looked at Lee Jordan, whose eyes were bloodshot, speechlessly, and thought for a moment and said euphemistically: "I think Madam Pomfrey will give you a glass of life and death water." โ
The water of life and death is a powerful sleeping pill, and Carl feels that Lee Jordan needs this even more.
"I can cast a happy spell on you if you need to." This is the spell he learned last semester in the third grade textbook of Standard Mantras.
"What's that, can you forget about tiredness?"
"No, but it can make you forget your anxiety and be happy for a long time."
Lee Jordan's original excited expression immediately withered, and he sighed: "Enough, Carl, I'd better wash my face and drink a few more cups of coffee for breakfast later." โ
When he arrived at the restaurant, Carl found that the Gryffindor selection was almost all there, and most of them were similar to Fred and George, snorting, and it looked like they hadn't slept well last night.
The atmosphere at the table was dreary, and everyone was talking and thinking about their own thoughts.
"Good luck to you." Carl said helplessly after breakfast.
His and Quirrell's lessons were about to start again, and today was the first one.
In the abandoned classroom, Quirrell was waiting for him early in the morning.
Compared to last semester, Quirrell now seemed more energetic.
"You should really go to the Carlo Ancestral House." Quirrell regretted, "You're missing out on a lot of good stuff. โ
