Chapter 40: Spirit Creatures Dementors
"With a little bit of special magic, I can control the length and flexibility of my hair."
Harley noticed the surprise in the other people's eyes and added softly.
"Professor Dumbledore told me that your innate magic is even more special than being like Magus Disguise.
I didn't believe it at the time, it seems that I was shallow. ”
Professor Lupin sighed with a nod to his hair, and Sirius let out a low howl of approval.
Professor Lupin's attention was quickly diverted by something else, as the Hogwarts Express was not normal at this time.
Putting aside the abnormal stopping, the rain attached to the car window has turned into frost at some point.
It was pitch black outside the window, and there was an eerie chill.
In the distance, there were bursts of exclamations from the little wizard, as well as shrill squeaks, loud hisses, and other inexplicable sounds.
Professor Lupin opened the box door and peered down the hallway, clutching his wand in his hand.
Hallie was moving faster than he was, and her left hand was already on the mirror.
Her eyes shimmered green, and the Fallen Gauntlet's twisting and amplifying abilities were quietly activated.
The glass of all the carriages turned into Hallie's eyes at this moment, probing the surrounding scene.
The Hogwarts Express didn't know when it had been surrounded, and hundreds of disgusting creatures floated in the air outside the carriage.
The creatures were cloaked in gray-black cloaks, and their bodies looked as if they had been soaked in water.
Their bare palms are scabbed, like rotten pieces of flesh.
But under their cloaks there are not legs, but black mist.
And all around the creatures, the air seemed to freeze. Joy, enthusiasm and vitality are gone, absorbed by them, leaving only pain and despair.
"Dementors?" Hallie's eyebrows were full of solemnity.
After receiving Professor Dumbledore's notebook and writing a few letters with some of the masters.
Harley had roughly guessed that there would be Dementors at Hogwarts this semester.
It was only natural that the Dementors would inspect the Hogwarts Express.
Red Gloves want to check the train and catch the wanted criminal, who has a legitimate reason to stop it?
So Harley also took time out of her day to study the Patronus Charm according to Professor Dumbledore's hints.
Now Harley can unleash the Formed Patronus.
Of course, even without the Patronus Charm, Harley herself wasn't that afraid of Dementors.
After all, according to the small amount of Professor Dumbledore's notes, it seems to be just a dark creature that absorbs pleasure and brings pain and despair.
And the name of the witch sequence five is called the Witch of Pain, and the name of the fourth sequence is called the Witch of Despair.
When it comes to controlling emotions, Hallie is confident that she won't be weaker than anyone else.
But it wasn't the Dementors themselves that made Harley feel solemn, it was their origins.
According to Professor Dumbledore's notes, the Dementors were first discovered on Azkaban's island, and that it was the only place where new Dementors would be born.
The Wizards' Council, the predecessor of the Ministry of Magic, built a research institute there and tried to study the Dementors, but were unsuccessful in discovering their origins.
The only useful information that the Ministry of Magic has researched is that decent wizards can only banish Dementors through the Patronus Charm, and that they can only weaken them, not kill them entirely.
Later, the Ministry of Magic simply turned it into Azkaban Prison to imprison prisoners.
Professor Dumbledore also left two intriguing words in his notes:
During Voldemort's active days, he drove Dementors and made them obey his own and ordinary Death Eaters' orders;
The Dark Wizard cannot use the Patronus Charm, and once used, the wand will return fire, and the wand will summon maggots to devour it.
This suggests that the Dementors must have other weaknesses, but Professor Dumbledore didn't write about them.
Now, Hallie felt as if she had something different in her hands.
She smelled a strange and familiar aura from the Dementor's body, a spirit breath.
"Spiritual creatures? No, it is difficult for spirit creatures to maintain their form in the physical world for a long time, unless they consume their strength all the time. ”
Harley's eyes were closed, the light under her eyes flickered wildly, and her magic power was quickly consumed.
"Is that black mist something to rely on? Do they belong to a wonderful semi-spiritual biological form? ”
Harley quickly canceled the ability and ended the vision.
She was now more and more curious about the existence of Dementors.
Harley silently made a plan in her mind: catch a Dementor and study it.
Of course, this is no easy task. Dementors are civil servants of the British Ministry of Magic, and even the loss of one is a loss of property for the Ministry!
So Hallie had to come up with a careful plan in order to put the action into practice.
By this time, several Dementors had boarded the train and were wandering through the corridors, opening the doors of the boxes to check.
During the inspection, they don't forget to take a few puffs to make some extra money in the task.
The little wizards in the boxes that had been inspected by the Dementors were all huddled in a ball, occasionally sobbing quietly.
If it weren't for the fact that the leader forbade them to hunt on this train, these lucky people would have wanted to steal a meal and take a bite of the wizard's soul.
Professor Lupin's mouth was a little bitter, he certainly knew what the Dementors were here for.
Isn't it just for Sirius Black?
If it was normal, Professor Lupin could have shouted, "None of us hid Sirius Black under our robes, please leave." ”
But the problem is, it's not the normal situation now. Sirius Black was in the box behind him!
However, seeing that several of the young wizards who had stayed in the hallway before and did not have time to return to the box had collapsed on the ground, and were nearly fainting as the Dementors approached, Professor Lupin took a step forward:
"You've hurt the young wizards, and I, in my capacity as Hogwarts' new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, demand that you get out of the car and explain to Professor Dumbledore!"
Professor Lupin's voice traveled down the carriage, but was useless against the Dementors.
This group of Dementors is not human, though, and has a very low IQ.
But they still have at least biological instincts, and can understand commands that are not particularly difficult.
They understand that they can eat a big meal every day with the original "collection of evil thoughts";
And listening to the orders of the "fool" who often dangles in front of him can barely eat and drink;
But that "terrible being" whose feelings are as hot as the sun just wants to kill himself and completely destroy the race!
Now that the "evil thoughts collective" is not out, they naturally choose to carry out the orders of the "fool" thoroughly to ensure that they still have something to eat.
