Chapter 14: Thunder and Light
Where the "Council of Six" is located, in a blackened round tower.
The chief of Silver City, Colin Iliad, was standing on the top platform of the Round Tower, and even he was still apprehensive about the thunderstorm that had come before, but his spirituality was no longer enough for him to continue in his current form as a mythical creature.
The tall and mighty cyclops slowly shrank in size, bent down from weakness, and supported himself half-kneeling on his knees.
Colin's charred flesh from the lightning, which was not obvious in the giant's state, was immediately revealed as soon as he regained his original appearance, and the edges of those wounds remained turned outward, and from time to time there were white razers rushing out of the air and dissipating into the air.
If it weren't for the warrior's own defensive strength being strong enough, coupled with the "Crown of Glory" with divine brilliance on his head, the principal of Silver City would not have been able to stably absorb the power of that wave of "thunderstorm" and transfer it.
Colin was forced to throw away the hot golden spear in his hand and toss it into the tank where this remarkable weapon was kept, and in an instant, bursts of steam came out of the tank, and small "crackles" continued to come from it.
Hearing the sound of the thunderstorm at the top of the tower cease, and keeping a close eye on the Chief's condition, the other two members of the council who had been waiting in the tower immediately emerged from under the trapdoor and hurried to Colin Iliad to heal his wounds.
Elder Lovia cast "flesh magic" to channel extraordinary powers that were not within Colin's body, and forced Colin's wounds to heal faster, causing a wave of pain, but Colin's steadfast demeanor did not waver in the slightest.
And Ben Bell, the elder of the "Cultivator" path, couldn't help but break open Chief Colin's mouth without saying a word, and directly poured three bottles of healing potions in a row, and then let a faint green light rise from his palm, slowly guiding Colin's vitality to recover.
"I can guide that thunderstorm up to two times and get everyone to go as quickly as possible, ahem...... Evacuate as soon as possible. ”
"Once," said the blonde lady with a serene face that could not tell her age, with only crow's feet at the corners of her eyes, Elder Benbell frowned, "If you still want to live, only once." ”
Elder Lovia raised her head and looked at the sky worriedly, "That's not a force we can fight against. ”
Colin also looked at the rolling and suppressed thunder light, his eyes were extremely firm: "It's always good to delay a little time, the inheritance of Silver City must not be broken in our hands." ”
"But......" Seeing Colin's expression, Benbell knew that his persuasion would not be effective, so he swallowed the words and helped the stubborn chief to get him back on his feet.
"Almost, you go down first, the inhabitants of Silver City need you too."
"Werther has gone down to appease them."
"Also, if something happens to me, let's follow the plan we've made over the years and let Waite be the next chief, after all, he is the only one who can use the 'Proof of Glory' now besides me."
The thunder in the sky sounded again, and Colin patted Benbell on the shoulder: "Go ahead, you two go down too, don't worry about me anymore." ”
Benbell quickly shoved the other two potions into Colin's hands: "We await your news. ”
It wasn't until the trapdoor closed behind him that Colin let out a long sigh of relief, straightening the crown that radiated the dawn light above his head and scooping out the special object made of pure gold from the tank.
Colin Iliad, who once again raised his spear to the sky:
"O All-Knowing and Almighty......"
I pray for you to bless your believers.
The next moment, Colin saw soft balls of light slowly rising from the ground below, from the inside of Silver City, they gave people a different feeling from the thunder in the sky, even Colin felt a little more calm in his heart.
It was a steady source of light in the town, a lantern mushroom that Silver City had become accustomed to and regarded as a shelter, and the "Council of Six" had long known that those mushrooms contained some kind of spirit that was close to "living", but the results of their divination and testing showed that it was completely harmless, so they agreed to introduce it as a new crop in Silver City.
Now, the spores detached from under the canopy on their own, as if attracted by the thunder in the sky, and the sight of them slowly rising was very clearly visible from the top of the highest round tower in Silver City.
Colin watched the scene in disbelief, and he thought of the sight recorded in those ancient books, when the sun receded from the rotating sky, and on the clear night, shimmering fragments would appear.
It's just that those "stars" are rising from the ground and rushing towards the violent thunder in the sky.
Then Colin saw the flow of black clouds, which were slowly collapsing downward, quickly forming a funnel-shaped vortex that was descending in his direction - after all, the round tower was the tallest building in Silver City.
Colin clenched the pure gold spear in his hand, he had always been prepared, and he only hoped that he would be able to withstand a few more thunderstorms that were about to fall.
It would have been great if the thunder had come straight at him.
However, things did not go according to the idea of the chief of Silver City, the light rising from the ground did not seep into the thunderclouds in the sky, but hovered above Silver City, and soon, as the humming sound resounded throughout the city, illusory lines connected from the points of light, and as the light became denser and denser, it finally converged into a thin curtain of light.
The curtain of light took shape in front of Colin's eyes, it looked like a tent erected, and the center point at the top was the round tower that had just been struck by lightning at Colin's feet, and the edge of the light curtain was around the round tower, slowly closing above his head.
The pitch-black clouds suddenly shook more violently, and Colin saw a faint glow at the bottom of the vortex sinking towards the round tower.
Even more strangely, he heard the singing, and in the midst of the thunder and humming, only the singing was steady and clear, and someone was humming a nursery rhyme in a language he could not distinguish.
Then, Colin Iliad, saw a soft glow detach from the center, and a flock of disembodied illusory birds flew down from there, clinging to the edge of the curtain of light, preventing it from completely enveloping the Silver City below.
Of course he remembered the fairy tale, and although there was no exact explanation in the Lord's holy scriptures, every child who grew up in Silver City had heard stories about the "lark", which had been left from the ancient texts for generations.
The despair in Colin's heart suddenly became hot, and he was quickly burned to ashes.
Is this the Lord's response to us?
The many larks that emitted light pulled the light curtain and flew up again.
A crack suddenly opened in the thick clouds, and all the larks crashed straight into the figure in the middle.
This time, Colin could see very clearly, the edges of the light curtain held by the lark all fell into the two palms that she spread out on the left and right, converging into a silver stream of light.
It was a young-looking lady who was looking up, staring at the thunderclouds that were falling on her, oblivious to Colin's gaze.
The raven on the lady's shoulder, however, seemed to sense his gaze, and it cast a cold glance downwards before disappearing directly from Colin's sight.
A chill shrouded in hostility arose, and Colin didn't show a look on his face, but he moved the direction of the golden spear.
