Chapter Twenty-Seven: Follow the Trend
In the place that was originally pitch black, suddenly out of thin air appeared a crow with a white circle in its right eye, its tail cocked and its head held high, stepping on a woven bag that emitted light, looking like a king leaning on a throne, and its proud style even made people want to laugh.
It's just that those black eyes are very indifferent, which makes the three of them shiver subconsciously, and when the crow swept over them, Veronica's more acute intuition even made her have the urge to run away.
"Don't worry, if He wanted to hurt you, he would have done it a long time ago." Esther had to speak reassuringly, and she walked over to the crow and leaned over to hold out her hand.
The crow glanced at Esther again before flapping its wings and flying directly onto her right shoulder, leaving Esther's hand directly in the air.
Esther didn't mind, she picked up the woven bag, carried it to her left shoulder, and looked back at the three who were still hesitating, they exchanged glances many times, these fell into Esther's eyes, she could clearly see the words that the three of them could not say, their thoughts were too easy to guess.
Could it be that Amon looks at me like this? Esther muttered to herself, she waited patiently for the three to speak, she had said earlier that they were allowed to ask questions, and she was naturally willing to leave time for each other to make up her mind.
Eventually, the one-eyed young man at the head gritted his teeth, and he took a half-step forward in response to Esther's earlier words: "You, no, who are you?"
The fear of Esther's strength made him change his words to a more respectful title.
"You can call me Esther, that's my name."
However, her words were too simple, and she didn't even reveal any information about her identity, and the gray-skinned person opposite scratched her sparse red hair: "I'm Zola."
"Hey, is it really okay to just tell her that!" As soon as the "giant bear" spoke, it spoke like it was rumbling and roaring.
"I'm Veronica." The female voice on the other side also introduced herself, making "Giant Bear" even more confused, but it was clear that the lady had a more nimble mind, "This big guy is 'Pion'."
Veronica's attitude towards Esther was calmer than the other two, she had already analyzed the current situation in her heart, and if Esther really wanted to do something to them, they would probably not be able to resist.
Since the lady didn't show much malice, no one wanted to be her enemy, and Veronica certainly hoped that this friendly attitude would last forever, and even if there was vigilance, it should be taken to heart as much as possible.
"Then now that we know each other, you should be from a nearby town?"
As soon as Esther's words came out, the hearts of the other three people who had just put down hung again.
Could this be the real purpose of the other party, to find their city with the help of them? She's here for that city?
But Veronica was still the one with the fastest spin in her head: "Yes, what town are you from?"
Esther, hearing such a rhetorical question, glanced at the lady more, and also vaguely replied, "No, I come from the continent and the sea, where the sun is still shining."
"What?" The three of them asked rhetorically almost at the same time.
"I'm from the outside world." Esther added, observing that the defenses on their faces had quickly broken down in their astonishment.
"The outside world!? Is there really anywhere else?" Pyne, who was as strong as a "giant bear", spoke excitedly.
Zola's clear eyes widened, and then he smashed the hammer in his hand with great force, making a strange echo like a bell, but his action seemed to be only to express excitement, and did not mean to attack, so there was no flame between the hammers.
Veronica clearly didn't fully believe that, but she quickly grabbed Zola's arm to stop her friend from striking the hammer again, so as not to cause a misunderstanding: "We've never seen anyone from the outside world, in fact, the last town we had contact with more than a thousand years ago has disappeared into the darkness."
Esther smiled and shook her head, "Beyond the darkness and lightning, there's another sky."
"Iron
With fire, this is so exciting! Can we go with you? No, no, we're going to have to bring the news back! You'll be happy, I'd love to see what real plants look like—"
"Alright Pion, calm down!"
As soon as Veronica raised her voice, the guy named Pyne immediately craned his neck, not daring to make a sound at all.
Zola let out a long breath, and he seemed to have done a lot of mental construction before he imitated Veronica's calm attitude: "We've never heard of the outside world, I'm sorry, Pyne is a little excited."
Veronica deliberately added to this: "We haven't heard from the outside world for a long time, it's been a long time, so ...... Do you know how to get out of here?"
However, after a moment of silence on the other side, the hearts of the three of them cooled again.
Esther could only shake her head, "The way I got out of here doesn't work for you, after all, you don't seem to be demigods."
This lady who claims to be from the outside world is a demigod at the very least...... Veronica and Zola had a judgment in their hearts at the same time.
Still in excitement, Pyne said anxiously, "Of course we're not, but there's someone else! Our chiefs are demigods, they must—"
"Pion! Don't talk anymore." Veronica interrupted her friend again, she was a little hateful, this fool continued to talk, and almost exposed all the things behind the three of them to each other!
Esther nodded at them, "I have reason to believe that those who meet this condition, what you call 'sir,' will not be willing to leave you."
The crow on her shoulder was impatient, and grabbed the hair of Esther's sideburns, and was glared at by Esther, "Does it make sense to discuss this with them?" You can go straight to what they call 'sir.'"
The crow then looked at the three people opposite, "Even if you don't say it, we're going to Spark City next, I know where that city is."
That's the obvious threat – even if you don't lead the way, we'll go ourselves.
Veronica remained silent this time, she didn't quite understand why, but the black bird, which had always been disturbed in her instincts, seemed more dangerous than the lady.
Then they had no choice, and Zola glanced back at Veronica, and seeing that the quick-witted companion had no objection, she nodded at the lady:
"Your friend is right, it's time for us to go back to our patrol duties."
"Oh yes, the Gulik you mentioned earlier, did you come to him?"
Veronica immediately came back to her senses from her contemplation, "Yes, where is he now?"
Esther raised her sword and pointed to the way she had come, "It's not far from here, I'll take you there."
