Chapter 55: The Living Corpse
A dim green light lit up the hallway, where there was no light, and a thin, distorted figure was slowly approaching from a distance.
The sound of staggering footsteps gradually echoed with the swaying figure, although it was impossible to see the details at all, but the hemp rod-like limbs and severely recurved neck were definitely not normal people.
Andy stared at the mysterious figure that was getting closer and closer, and the rhinoceros spun in a circle in his hand.
"Dia..... What's going on with all this? Eve examined the body in despair, but found no useful information other than that she had been strangled to death, and the murder weapon was probably the hemp rope that had been casually thrown aside in the corner.
Both parties are dead, and it's impossible for anyone to know how things got to where they are today.
"If you're sad enough, get up quickly, we might be in a bit of trouble." Andy watched as the figure suddenly began to twitch like an epilepsy, followed by a beastly howl, and he instantly opened his arms and pounced on Andy.
"Bang bang bang—" Three bullets were fired, but the incident was urgent and poorly lit, and before Andy could figure out whether it had hit or not, the figure pounced on him like a gust of wind.
Andy was thrust away by the force, and the two bodies knocked over the table behind him and Deya's body, throwing the room into chaos.
"Andy!" Eve barely dodged, but was in darkness before her, fumbling for the candle for the light, but she couldn't find it because she was too nervous.
"Wait, where...," she touched, but was hit by something, and immediately screamed in fright.
"Roar!! A roar that did not resemble a human voice sounded in her ears, and a green light lit up from the side, illuminating the ugly green face in front of Eve's eyes, and Eve's scream was already instinctive, and she opened her mouth uncontrollably and screamed hysterically, and the scimitar in her hand slashed out.
"Ah!!h Andy struggled to crawl out from under the table, and as soon as he stood up, he saw the unknown monster with a scimitar embedded in its head and falling to the ground and twitching, while Eve was squatting in the corner and sobbing with trembling.
"Oh...."He stepped over the corpse of Diya on the ground, both of its eyes were bloodshot and its tongue was sticking out, which might not be enough to describe it as hideous.
"It's a... Crazy ghouls? Andy walked over to the incapacitated monster, and the scimitar had even slashed deep into the skull.
Although the knife could have split the ghoul's head in two if he had come, Eve was a woman who was not proficient in combat, and it was unbelievably powerful.
The mad ghoul in front of him, who was hacked to death by Eve, turned green all over his body, and some of the joints also grew strange green crystals, and a closer look revealed that those things were actually bone spurs growing from the surface of the body.
The ghoul's flesh was badly shriveled and almost skinny, but his mobility was still quite impressive, and Andy blocked the beep-beep boy in front of him during the pounce, and the ghoul gnawed on the beep-boy and made a series of teeth-sore sounds.
"Thanks to you." Andy lifted the beep-boy and glanced at it, confirming that the screen was not bitten, but just a little saliva.
[Clean the stains on the surface of the machine in time] The beep boy just jumped out of such a prompt. He looked left and right, first picked up the python that had been knocked off by the head of the chicken nest before, and then while Eve was still squatting in the corner, he dragged Diya's robe over and wiped it for the Pip-Boy.
"Eve?" It took several shouts before Eve came to her senses from that stressful state.
"That thing is dead." Andy takes the cutlass from the ghoul's face and hands it to Eve, who is in a state of despair.
"This.... This.... Why is there such a thing? Eve looked at the mad ghoul lying on the ground, and then turned her head away after a moment, the shock of the previous scene was too great for her, she had been wronged in Ouroboros Village for so many years.
"Maybe there was a slave who wasn't eaten by the stone?" Andy notices that the ghoul is still wearing a half-rotten garment, which has a mutilated sign on the back of the garment after kicking him over.
"........." he was silent for a moment, this thing is estimated to be very old. Thinking so, he suddenly walked out to the next room, and Eve was startled and immediately followed him.
Arriving in the next room, Andy kicked open the door that had been locked with a simple lock, and this time he could clearly see that there were a large number of metal cabinets in the room.
When I opened one, I saw a strange ghoul similar to the one lying inside, but his head had disappeared.
A foul smell came from the side, and Andy covered his nose and walked over, where the corner of the room was now a shriveled and tattered pile of human heads.
"Hmm-" Eve couldn't bear the stench, and didn't dare to go back to the darkness full of corpses alone, so she had to wait at the door.
"You've found so many before.... I don't know what you like to call this thing? Like Blackfoot, it's called an evil spirit or something? Andy pointed to the dead ghouls in the metal cabinets, which were in some sense immortal at all, and the radiation around them made their bodies immortal.
Theoretically, if the flesh of these ghouls were to be stitched together and powerful radiation was released, it would be possible for these incapacitated creatures to do so
"Bringing the dead back to life".
"No..... Or even if there is, I don't know. Eve looked flustered, always feeling that there was still such a thing wandering in the dark, and kept urging Andy to get out of here quickly.
Andy had to leave the house and walk down the road, still thinking about it. As he passed by the previous depression, he noticed that the shadow inside had disappeared, and now there was only a pit left there.
"Drill out of here....?" Andy muttered in his heart, the psychological quality of this legion spy is really exaggerated, not to mention staying alone in the dark underground, there seems to be something wrong in the stones here, and it seems that he will be attracted by the living people who stay underground and keep climbing out.
The number of mad ghouls that guy killed was at least twenty or more in that morgue alone, and these guys must have appeared one by one at any time.
He needs to be on guard day and night, destroying the ghouls' central nervous system as soon as he finds them, or simply cutting off their heads to eliminate their mobility, and then placing the corpses.
"Quick.... Let's go! Eves shuddered and tugged at Andy's arm, and at her suggestion, Andy looked up and found a shadow in the stone above his head.
"Stains—" Andy didn't want to stay any longer, and the two of them immediately returned to the ground floor hall from the hole in the ground, and then slammed the lid shut.
Finding a chair to sit down, Andy had just taken a breath when he suddenly noticed something moving in Hekate's statue.
He immediately raised his pistol
"Wait!" Eve stopped Andy, and she walked over to the statue and made a few motions and sprinkled some powder.
Andy lifted the Pip-Boy and saw a large snake slowly shrinking back into a large hole hidden behind the statue of Hecate.
"That's the big snake you kept in the church?" He was a little surprised, the size of the big snake was a little amazing.
"It's probably the longest-lived one so far, because it's there, and no one is worried that someone will hide in the church, but if there are our companions leading the way... It's a different story. Eve said, one hand clenched.
"How could Diya.... How could she have betrayed Lady Hecate, she must have been coerced by that Legion spy. Andy sat down in a creaky chair and lit a cigarette, he didn't really care what was going on, anyway, the spy's body was right underneath and wouldn't run away, and even if he did, wouldn't there be Eve's witness.... In short, Hekat should have no reason to refuse him.
"Take a break, let's go talk to Ivana about it."
