831, Beiting Duhu

Beiting Duhufu, Tingzhou, the western fortress of the Silk Road on the northwest desert. Now the Cheng family has no foothold in the Central Plains, and deliberately develops the northwest territory in order to be safe. Yuan Zaixing, a scholar from Hanlin, Ye Tianyun, Liu Gang, and Murong Tianshui, have been sent to the Northwest Desert one after another, and have been in office for many months. However, although these people were far away from the flames of war in the Central Plains, the situation they were in, surrounded by foreign domains, mixed with ethnic tribes, strange people and merchants, invaded and plundered by foreign enemies, and lived a hard and difficult life, and it was not a place of pleasure that could be enjoyed.

It is said that Ye Tianyun, the protector of the Beiting Capital, inspected the Tianshan Mountains and returned to the Tingzhou Government Office, and he looked at the "Map of the Political Region Situation in the Tang Dynasty", and his heart couldn't help but fall into the melee between the Tang Dynasty and the ethnic tribes in the western part of the country:

The Tibetan Dynasty, founded in 629 AD, fell in 846 AD, but the remnants of its tribe are still in existence today. From the Altun Mountains and Kunlun Mountains in the north, to the Himalayas in the west, to the Himalayas and Brahmaputra River in the south, and to the western Sichuan Basin in the east, this vast area includes Qinghai, the nine bends and eighteen bends of Hexi, the Qaidam Basin, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and other places, all of which were once the sphere of influence expansion of the Tubo Dynasty.

Speaking of the Himalayas, we must talk about Mount Everest, that is, the "peak of the third goddess", "Everest" Tibetan means "third", "Langma" means "goddess", Tibetan means "Virgin", 8848 meters above sea level, the world's highest peak, located in the middle of the Himalayas, on the border between China and Nepal, in the south of Dingri County, Shigatse Prefecture, Tibet. The peak is covered with snow all year round, and it is a holy scene. The Everest region has 4 peaks above 8,000 meters and 38 peaks above 7,000 meters, and is known as the third pole of the earth. Heroes who love mountaineering can have the interest to learn it, but they must do what they can, and don't be a "dead soul" sleeping on Mount Everest.

At the foot of Mount Everest is the world's highest temple, the Rongbu Temple, and at the same time, the Rongbu Temple is also the best place to see Mount Everest, with a straight line distance of 25 kilometers.

Transportation: Mount Everest is about 100 kilometers south of the China-Nepal Highway. It is not very difficult to find a hitchhiker from Shigatse and Lhatse to Xindingri, but the remaining 100 kilometers to the base camp, the chance of getting a hitchhike is quite low, so it is recommended to charter a bus from Lhasa to go the safest.

Before leaving Xindingri, go through the formalities of entering the mountain at the hotel at the intersection of Xindingri: cars entering the range need to pay the highway construction fee according to the number of wheels, 100 yuan per wheel; In addition, each tourist has to pay 65 yuan for the entrance fee. Walk 11 kilometers along the China-Nepal Highway, see the sign of the Everest Reserve and turn left, and say goodbye to the asphalt road, you have to be mentally prepared for the bad road surface in the future.

Room and board: The only place to stay near the Everest base camp is Rongbu Temple, the bed is 25 yuan per person, and the accommodation here is convenient for watching the morning and evening scenery of Mount Everest. There is a small restaurant run by a Tibetan boy at the entrance of Rongbu Temple, and the door is full of beer bottles. The owner doesn't speak Chinese, but can order and haggle in English. The food tastes average, but the price is unusually expensive, which is understandable considering that it was all transported all the way from distant Shigatse.

Tips: In fact, Rongbu Temple and Everest Base Camp are still about 8 kilometers away, if you bring your own camping equipment, you can also live in the Everest Base Camp, you need to bring your own stove for cooking. During the climbing season, the base camp is manned by liaison officers from the Tibetan Mountaineering Association, who can buy small amounts of food and water at that time, but the price is more expensive, about three times more expensive than in Lhasa. Beer costs 10 yuan per listen.

Before entering Mount Everest, the last place with better conditions is the Everest Hotel, which is located in the new day, and the standard room with bath and toilet costs 330 yuan / room. But there is a very cheap building behind the main building, there is no bathroom, but it is very clean, the price is only 30 yuan / person, and you can also bargain to 20 yuan.

Travel tip: Not far from Mount Everest, there is a mountaineering checkpoint. After checking the procedures for entering the mountain, I was allowed to go straight. After 40 kilometers, you can reach a small village called Tashi Dzong, where there are 2 or 3 small restaurants with few vegetables, so you can make do with a little food. Continue to walk about 30 kilometers and climb over the Zola Pass, you can see the spectacular scene of four snow-capped mountains above 8,000 meters lined up, and you can reach the Everest base camp by going down the mountain for more than 20 kilometers from here.

In the Everest base camp, you can find the manager of the Everest Post Office, spend two yuan to stamp a commemorative postmark of Mount Everest, and then leave the postcard in the post office to deliver it, and friends in the mainland can receive this valuable postcard after more than half a month.

This is the general situation of the "Peak of the Third Goddess", congratulations on the lucky enough to see a trace of her face.
