Ruan Ji: In life, you always gain some and lose some, but you don't want to lose anything
Ruan Ji, his old father Ruan Yu died early, how he loves to live. His biography in the Book of Jin is a collection of "jokes": he rolls his eyes up to the sky for those he hates, and he also has blue eyes for like-minded people. He didn't care about his uncle and sister-in-law's other etiquette to say goodbye to his sister-in-law, and he didn't care about men and women crying for girls they didn't know. He was drunk and lying beside the beautiful woman, and he also drove the car with a wine tank, and cried blood and wailed at the end of the road. He loves wine, but the amount of alcohol is not good, and when he drinks high, he plays the piano sonorously. Legend has it that there is a guqin song called "Drinking Mania" written by him, and the song stumbles, extremely confused and depressed, but also extremely generous and passionate, and the entanglement in the heart of this person who has been twisted with himself all his life has been passed on to future generations.
Ruan Ji is the leader of the Bamboo Forest Celebrity, and his behavior pattern determines the temperament of the Bamboo Forest Group - extreme romanticism, freedom, and individualism. In this regard, Nguyen Ji has more or less inherited the mantle of his father Nguyen Yu, and they both distanced themselves from the government, which represents the coercive power of the community. It's just that Ruan Yu gave up his seclusion when he couldn't hide and there was no point in hiding, and Ruan Ji, he was too famous, and he was watched all the time, and he had to express his stance when something happened. But he didn't. For the rest of his life, whether he is a liar or drunk, he just doesn't jump into your "routine".
Ruan Ji has had three opportunities to become a big official. Once was when Cao Shuang invited him to join the army, He Yan and Xiahou Xuan were carrying out reforms, and many famous people had a wait-and-see attitude, but Ruan Ji refused. Another time was after the coup d'état in Gao Pingling, the Sima family came to power, Sima Zhao proposed to Ruan Ji for his son Sima Yan, hoping that Ruan Ji would marry his daughter to Sima Yan. He will also take the initiative to seek officials, but all with a mocking "hippie" spirit. He asked Sima Zhao for a Dongping Xiang, and after he went, he smashed the windows and knocked on the wall, turning the yamen into a cool square. After that, he took the initiative to ask for an infantry captain, but it was for the wine of the infantry battalion. He disrupted and turned the "normal" values upside down, and he was very angry.
But Ruan Ji, he is not a worldly master who does not care about politics at all, on the contrary, he moves between opposing political forces, and he has the ability to make peace. When he was first invited to be an official, Taiwei Jiang Ji and Cao Shuang both wanted to recruit him. Jiang Ji was made a lieutenant in the first year of Qi Wangfang, and he was a person who believed in etiquette and law, and was in league with Sima Yi in his personal life and governing policy. On the contrary, Cao Shuang gathered a group of noble children, and he had a bit of a later "celebrity" habit. In order to gain the support of Ruan, Jiang Ji preemptively recruited him to be his secretary. And Ruan Ji was humble first, saying that Wei Wenhou asked Zixia to be a teacher, and King Yan Zhao asked Zou Yan to be a teacher, and he sat in the student's seat, which was the practice of a virtuous person and a corporal Lixian. However, although I am in a humble room, I do not have the same virtue as Zou Zi and Zixia. What you can do is to farm well and pay taxes well, and now you make me an official, I can't do it, you better take back your life. Jiang Ji saw that his letter was a little half-pushed, and thought that maybe he was pretending, but he didn't expect that by the time someone was sent to pick him up, he had already run away. Later, the villagers were very dissatisfied with this and often blamed him. As a result, he had no choice but to go to Jiang Ji's secretary, worked for two days, found a reason, and ran away again.
You see, Ruan Ji not only skates like a loach, but also has different skating methods for different people: Jiang Ji and Cao Shuang compete for Ruan Ji's support, and Ruan Ji quietly moves slightly towards Jiang Ji. So you can clearly see that for the political group that is about to gain power, although Ruan Ji is unwilling to tie them to a rope, the direct approach is: he does not do anything when he becomes an official, or resigns before his ass is hot, but he still gives them a little face in a way that shows difference. It is this subtle face that tells the world that he is not an opposition, and leaves room for his independence, he is not black and white like Ji Kang, more often than not, he stands in the gray area, more than advances and retreats.
It's really hard for you to see that such Ruan Ji is a person with low political acumen, but he just doesn't want to be an official. It is generally believed that Ruan was sympathetic to the Cao clan and dissatisfied with Sima's rule. But judging from the things mentioned above, he didn't buy Cao's account. The Sima clan sent people to kill the little emperor Cao Chao with a sword at the gate of the palace, and Ruan Ji did not even have the idea of organizing an uprising like Ji Kang.
His rebellions, mostly empty words, played an important role in making a name for himself. As a result, his reputation as an independent literati became louder and louder, and in the eyes of others, he always seemed to be in danger of persecution, but in fact he was quite tactful: for example, when he was Sima Zhao's secretary, Sima Zhao was listening carefully to the verdict of a case of murder of his mother, Ruan Ji sneered, Sima Zhao even dared to kill the emperor, he was a monarch and a fatherless to the extreme, and now he pretended to try the case upside down. So he couldn't help but sarcastically say on the side, it's okay to kill your father, but you can't kill your mother. Hearing this kind of disobedient words, Sima Zhao was very angry, and Ruan Ji quickly changed his words, because the beast knew that the mother did not know the father, and killing the father was the same as the beast, and killing the mother was not as good as the beast. Ruan Ji didn't dare to provoke Sima Zhao, but when he wrote the "persuasion table" to persuade Sima Zhao to be the emperor, in order to show his helplessness, he was drunk before writing the persuasion form, and he wished that someone possessed him when he wrote the article, not that he Ruan Ji wrote it.
No one can be offended, no one is opposed, Ruan Ji really found a safe crack in this era of fierce collision and hid in it. The friends who grew up with him, when they were struggling between blood and fire and even risking their lives and the future of his family, sat in his cracks, looked left and right, and hesitated to hold on to his noble reputation.
Having a good name represents social recognition. "Aiming" is a legacy left by the Qing Dynasty in the late Han Dynasty, which is a sign of their integrity. Moreover, Cao Cao became famous because he was evaluated by Xu Shao as "a capable minister who governs the world, a traitor in troubled times", and then Wang Yan and Xie An were all because of their fame, so they got everyone's attention before they did anything, which shows that reputation is the most powerful intangible asset, and it is easy to do things with fame.
However, when a person sleeps with his reputation tight, what he loses is the courage to pioneer. If Ruan Ji was born a believer in Zhuangzi, did not like to join the WTO, and was unwilling to forge ahead, then his reputation would be the icing on the cake, and it would be easy to say. It's just that for a person like Ruan Ji, who "has few ambitions to help the world", it is pain, on the one hand, his subconscious mind in his heart to save the country is about to move, and on the other hand, he binds himself again and again: if he can't go, he will die if he goes.
So Ruan Ji's heart is always wandering and tangled, he is not like Ji Kang, who tries to transcend the monarch's society to achieve the anarchy of personal freedom, even if he is stupid, he is also frank and unrestrained; Even if it was death, he felt that it was martyrdom. On the one hand, like Ji Kang, he wanted to pursue spiritual purity like Zhuangzi, so he wrote "The Biography of Mr. Adult", describing adults who were assimilated with creation and were not bound by famous religions. He ridiculed the "ritual people" in power as nothing more than lice in the crotch of their trousers, crawling tremblingly along the line in the crotch for fear of violating the etiquette. Eating human flesh seems to be inexhaustible, but once there is a war and those big cities are destroyed, these little lice don't even know how to die in the crotch of their pants.
On the other hand, he could not stop yearning for the Confucian social structure of gentlemen, benevolence, and loyalty. He climbed Guangwu Mountain, and couldn't help but sigh at the relics of the Chu and Han dynasties, "There are no heroes when there are no heroes, so that the shaft becomes famous." His poems often contain sentences of envy for going into battle to kill the enemy and longing for meritorious deeds. For example, "Donate your life to abandon Nakano, and the black kite will be a disaster." If you are a hero, your fame will be great from now on", "How generous is a strong man, and he wants to be powerful." drove far away to serve, and was ordered to forget about himself. The good bow is black, and the bright armor is fine. In the face of hardship, regardless of life, the body and soul are flying". The hero he envied was not Zhuangzi, not Chu Mad to receive public opinion, but Liu Bang Xiang Yu, who tied up the heart of entering the world with a birth attitude. No wonder Ye Jiaying said that his eighty-two poems are like steamed buns in a steamer - much the same. He left a chic image for posterity, but his heart was not detached. The poems he sang are full of traces, and there are two words back and forth: entanglement.
Take a few "Yonghuai" songs to see:
Thirdly:
Under the Jia tree, the peach and plum in the east garden. The autumn wind blows the weeds, and the scattering starts from here. Prosperous and haggard, the hall is full of thorns.
Drive the horse to the west toe. I can't protect myself, let alone love my wife. The frost is weeded, and the twilight of the year is over.
Thirty-fourth:
Day after day, morning after night. The complexion changed to normal, and the spirit drifted by itself. Linzhen is sad, thinking about my old people.
I can't speak about wine, and I am sad and bitter. I wish to cultivate the east of Gaoyang, who will keep the truth. Sorrow is for a while, and Gao Xing hurts his body. What do you do, the dragon and snake are my neighbors.
Its forty:
Skynet fills the four wilds, and the six rays are uncomfortable. With the waves, the general is like a float. Life is indefinite, day and night. The immortals stopped cultivating their age, and their ambitions were empty.
Floating clouds during the day, Miao and the world are different. The reputation is not his own treasure, and the voice is full of entertainment. There is no rotation of medicine collection, and the immortals do not match. It was confusing to force this good, and it made me hesitate for a long time.
His poems are always worried, sad, and afraid. There is a net in his poems that catches him and makes him breathless. Later generations always think that it was Sima Zhao's persecution and the darkness of society that made him unable to speak. But perhaps, it was he himself who was in a dilemma, tied his hands and feet, and trapped his heart. Ruan Ji is hiding in a negative way, hiding from the changes in this society, and from the impulse to take responsibility for himself. He was always hypnotizing himself, this was not an era for him to make great achievements, he practiced Epicurean hedonism, but he could not find pleasure in this kind of enjoyment like Epicurus. He was not only afraid that he would be drawn into the struggle between the Cao clan and the Sima clan with a positive and serious attitude, and he was afraid that once he really made a choice in the political turmoil and took responsibility, his reputation would not be guaranteed.
Nguyen inherited his love for independence from his father, but he was reluctant to test his independence. He is even too clever to know that power brings corruption, and that different interest groups are related to power and money, and even life and death. But to be a "promising" hero, you can't be isolated. Therefore, when he wants to do something and needs help, it is also when he is stuck to corruption and dumping. Officialdom is not innocent. In life, there is always something to be gained at the cost of loss. But Ruan, he didn't want to lose anything.
His friends who are crawling in the officialdom, Shan Tao and Wang Rong have all become powerful officials and have been made marquis. One of them participated in political reforms, elected countless talented people; One participated in the war and did work for reunification. But they were also accused of encroaching on land, topping the list of corrupt officials.
Ruan Ji is reluctant to become a person like Shantao and Wang Rong, in his eyes, this is a "vulgar thing", he cherishes his feathers too much, but he also knows that if he wants to achieve something, these are the only ways to go. So he had no choice but to idealize the ancient society, darken the reality, and indulge in alcohol, out of sight and out of mind. Isn't his sorrow of the end of riding in an ox cart the knot that he can't find an exit from in his heart? So he was always vomiting blood, his mother was dead and vomiting, and he was vomiting after drinking too much wine, and he was depressed and miserable all the time. But the cage is the era he faced, and it was also the one he drew for himself. If he is not willing to make a choice, he will never get out.
Nguyen is a man who asks the question: personal reputation and politics can never coexist. Confucius has long said that there are three kinds of bad friends that cannot be made, those who are pretentious, those who are gentle and good, and those who are sloppy. These three qualities, which are harmful to reputation, are precisely the compulsory courses of politics. He saw that his father had lost his reputation as a hermit but had not improved the society, and he also heard that Cui Yan was killed because he didn't want to lose the backbone of a scholar, and he still gathered friends to talk about government politics after being dismissed. He saw that the path of his predecessors was not working, so he chose not to act, but he did not expect that inaction was as painful as taking the wrong path.
Ruan Ji has a son named Ruan Hun, who looks and looks very much like Ruan Ji. He loved this son very much, but one day, Ruan Hun visited his father and said to him, I admire your expansive attitude towards life, please let me live like this. Ruan Ji pondered for a long time, and finally sighed and shook his head: Your cousin Ruan Xian has become a person like me, you, still don't want it.
