Chapter 9: Prelude to the Plan
After learning about the situation in this world, Edward breathed a long sigh of relief.
The grandeur of the world made him feel small, a little overwhelmed, and didn't know where to start.
But there was an urgent matter that he needed to solve immediately. According to the style of the hunters in the past, they would definitely not let him go easily, but would not hesitate to completely eradicate him.
I didn't expect that the first thing I did when I came to this world was to save my life first.
"These inventor hunters are all black-hearted, cunning and treacherous, and a little tricky."
Thinking of this, Edward felt a headache.
"Call the police? Forget it, although this place also has police-like units known as law enforcement squads. But it's really hard to say what attitude towards inventors is. Inventors are like Tang monk meat in this world, everyone wants to take a bite. Don't drive away the wolf, but attract the tiger...... Alas, trouble. ”
After dying once, he can joke about the matter in front of him, anyway, it's a big deal to die again.
The glimmer of light from the window cast a shadow on his tired face, and he walked over to his desk and sat down, his brow furrowed.
I want to find a silver lining.
But Edward's memory was nothing but sea water and research. The glimmer of light that came through the window was cast on his tired but resolute countenance.
The place where Edward lived was called Port Severin, a second-rate port city located in the south of the main island, but it is important to know that the so-called second-rate cities have exceeded 90% of the cities on the main island. The dominant area is comparable to that of the European continent, with conservative estimates of about 2,000 cities towering over what is known as an island but is more like a grand continent.
"Wait a minute, seawater?!"
Edward had a flash of inspiration, and he remembered that when he first began to study the buoyancy of water, he had discovered a cave under the sea. He also discovered it by accident, and the location is very tricky.
Edward was still curious at the time, so he went in and saw that the space was not large, almost the size of a small warehouse.
This idea led him to a plan.
"Escaping here is a priority and we need to find a suitable opportunity. They had no idea that there would be a hidden underwater cavern there. You have to be careful, any mistake could be a disaster for me."
"If my guess is correct, they should have been out there watching me by now, so first of all, find a way to know where they are and how many people they are."
The next day, Edward was seen walking in the streets in the form of a walking corpse, with a pale face and dark circles like pandas hanging on his face, staggering through the streets, pretending to be a man who was going to see God at any time.
Edward muttered to himself:
"I don't know if there is a God in this world, or if the Buddha is okay, how can I be half a fellow."
The streets are filled with the smell of rusty metal, and elements of mechanical punk are everywhere. Huge mechanisms are embedded in the walls of the building, freeing itself from the constraints of traditional architecture and revealing a unique industrial aesthetic. Pipes and gears criss-cross, rusty surfaces reveal signs of age.
The bulbs on the street lamps emitted a faint glow, casting eerie shadows through the cracks in the iron fence. Neon lights flicker in the dark night, giving off dazzling colors that contrast strongly with the surrounding mechanical elements.
The streets are lined with shops selling a wide variety of goods. The windows display mechanical parts, tools and instruments, as well as some handmade mechanical toys and decorations. The signs of the shops are written with various words, luring passers-by into shopping. Vendors greet customers warmly and introduce the advantages and characteristics of their products.
People walk in a hurry and in an orderly manner, they communicate and laugh, adding life and vitality to this noisy and lively street. At the end of the street is a busy intersection where vehicles drive by, and the hum of vehicle engines and the slight sound of wheels rubbing against the ground can be heard.
In a dimly lit corner of the street, Vest, Paiky, and Toru are gathered together, their expressions grim and mocking.
West was a tall, thin man with deep wrinkles and tattoos on his face. His yellow eyes flashed with a fierce light, and the corners of his obscene mouth cracked, revealing a row of yellow teeth, which made people feel disgusting.
Pai Ji is a slender woman with a cold face. Her eyes were deep and sly, and a strange smile hung on the corners of her slightly upturned mouth. Her long black hair fell casually over her shoulders.
Toru was a strong, gruff man, full of muscular tension. His face was covered in scars, and each one seemed to tell the story of his violent past. He smiled presumptuously, his eyes revealing a kind of wildness and cruelty.
West grinned, revealing a row of yellow teeth.
"Looks like I've managed to destroy him, but he should have finished himself as planned." He was a little confused
Pai Ji had an eerie smile on her lips.
"yes, it looks like we're going to do it ourselves and make him disappear from this world forever."
Toru laughed, his muscles stretched out, revealing a wild spirit.
"I'll give him a taste of what true hopelessness and despair are."
"Keep up, he's out on the street," Vest said.
