Chapter 10: The "Origins" organization
Edward walked steadily through the street, stealthily keeping an eye on the crowd behind him. He was preoccupied with searching for the faces of the murderers of his parents. Those three faces have long been deeply engraved in Edward's memory, like an indelible imprint.
Suddenly, his gaze froze in front of a stall, and he spotted the man who was quietly following him.
"There should be two more, where?!"
Edward only found one person, but it didn't matter, it was enough to know that someone was following him.
Unwittingly, they fell into Edward's carefully woven plan.
Edward got into a traveling car and told the driver about a destination.
The driver wore a leather coat and a pair of goggles to protect his eyes from the wind, sand and steam. The gloves wrapped tightly around his hands.
He answered, and the car began to accelerate slowly.
Edward sat in the car, and it was a novel experience for him. The seats in the car are wrapped in soft leather, which is comfortable and warm. His fingers lightly touched the steampunk-inspired pattern on the seat, as if he could feel the mechanical charm of the world.
Through the car window, Edward saw the scenery passing by, the silhouette of the city and the architecture full of a blend of old and futuristic. The huge gears turned slowly, releasing a faint steam as the airship soared freely through the sky. He gazed at the strange sights, feeling a thrill and curiosity from the unknown.
The interior of the car was filled with a subtle smell of steam and oil, accompanied by the slight hissing of the steam engine. These voices give Edward a sense of authenticity and presence.
Edward closed his eyes, and he could feel the scenery speeding by, the sound of the steam engine constantly changing, bringing him a strange sense of satisfaction and surprise.
Edward felt that he had made a wise choice to be in this mechanical island full of machinery and steam. Although there were also electric cars that were favored by the wealthy, for Edward, electric cars did not have much of an appeal. After all, in his opinion, electric vehicles have long been rotten on the earth.
Once you arrive at your destination,
Edward walks into a hospital as part of his planning. This hospital is a branch hospital of another scientific research organization, "Origin", which is located in Port Severin, and is very different from the "Heart of the Machine". The research direction of this organization is biological and medical. Their headquarters are not on the island of Mechanic, but on an island called Wisselland.
Edward didn't know the specifics, after all, he was just an ordinary person.
But as far as he knew, while most of the scientific organizations would not have their headquarters on the same island, they would be all over the place.
Therefore, those scientific research organizations in the world are not closed, which also benefits from the strong transportation capacity of the "mechanical heart".
Only in this way can the vehicles, equipment, munitions of the "Heart of the Machine" be sold all over the world, and the hospital branches of the "Origin" are also all over the world. The power plant of the "Elemental Electric Power Society" that emerged 50 years ago, and the vapor compression equipment of the "Combustion Research Institute", etc......
Edward chose this place because not all of the members of the Origin organization were doctors. Their research area is focused on biomedicine, and biology is their focus. The members of this organization are both angels and demons, both to heal and save people, and to be plague messengers who spread death. They even undergo biological modifications to incorporate their bodies into the cells of exotic animals to gain extraordinary abilities.
"Origin" is the only scientific research organization other than the Dominator that can give non-human abilities to ordinary humans.
Despite the vastly different from those of the Dominators, the direction and revolution of the Origins organization is unparalleled.
