Chapter 303: A Difficult Task
Exceptionally remnants of power?
Harry and Hermione looked at each other, not knowing what Dumbledore was trying to say.
However, Dumbledore, who had just shown great urgency, suddenly became cautious, and he stared up at the white ceiling for a moment of silence, and then asked himself as if he were talking to himself,
"According to Miss Granger, this map of the living spots has always been in your possession, Harry, how do you think it got to Mr. Malfoy?"
Harry was a little confused, why was Dumbledore suddenly so interested in the map, even though they were discussing how to save Sirius?
"At Christmas time--"
Hermione stared at Dumbledore's blue eyes, trying to find something in those bright eyes to confirm her suspicions,
"Malfoy had taken Mr. Filch into the Gryffindor common room. We were in a bit of trouble at the time, if, at that time, Spotted. I mean, Peter followed Malfoy's words--"
Hermione asked quietly,
"Harry, after that, did you make sure the Living Point Map was always with you?"
"No--" Harry immediately shook his head, proving his innocence, "I haven't used it in a while—"
"Looks like we've finally figured out a problem--"
Dumbledore threw an appreciative glance at Hermione, he nodded and said, "Then there's another problem, Remus's map and Mr. Malfoy's map are combined, but since Sirius didn't make a second map back then, what happened to the map in Remus's hand?" ”
It was a puzzling question, at least for Harry.
"Professor Dumbledore--" Hermione's breathing became slight as she stared at Dumbledore and called softly.
Dumbledore looked out of the door, and the rhythm of his speech became tight again,
"Some questions are up to us to find answers to, Miss Granger, it's a very dangerous mission, but if it works, oh, I think you're obviously going to succeed, right, you might not save a life tonight."
Harry's mouth was slightly open, looking at Dumbledore and Hermione, unable to intervene in their conversation.
"But, Professor—"
Hermione grabbed her collar nervously, her voice trembling, but Dumbledore stood up, he pulled out his wand and waved it, and a light breeze rippled in the closed room, and both Harry and Hermione felt as if something had melted into their bodies.
"A little bit of insurance--"
Facing the confused eyes of the two little ones, Dumbledore said quickly, "You can avoid your names appearing on this wonderful map--"
Harry was completely confused, and could only look at Hermione with his lips pursed.
"If you can't figure out what needs to be done, Miss Granger, I'd suggest you go the way you started, and good luck."
Dumbledore abandoned the map on Harry's hospital bed and hurried out of the room and closed the door.
"Good luck?" Harry glared at Hermione, "But aren't we discussing how to save Sirius, and what can luck do for us?" ”
As soon as Dumbledore left, Hermione fumbled around her neckline, and after a few moments, she pulled out a long, slender gold chain.
Hermione also grabbed the map and stuffed it into her pocket, and put the invisibility cloak belonging to Harry on her arm at the head of the bed, and said urgently,
"Come here, Harry, we don't have much time to waste."
Harry walked over in a daze, looking at the little glittering hourglass hanging from the gold chain, wondering what it was for.
"Come—"
Hermione put the chain around Harry's neck as well, "Ready?" ”
"What is this for?" Harry was inexplicable, he thought they were stupid, Professor Lupin's fate was uncertain, Sirius was hanging by a thread, Ron hadn't woken up yet, Hagrid was in a coma, but Dumbledore left without any explanation, and he and Hermione were fiddling with a memento.
Hermione spun the hourglass four times.
The bright hospital room suddenly disappeared, and Harry felt like he was on a knight's bus that had suddenly accelerated, and the powerful force of inertia pulled him back, except for Hermione, the colors of the scene on both sides quickly blurred, and there seemed to be many figures hidden in the blur, he wanted to see his surroundings clearly, but his vertigo head and swollen eardrums made it impossible for him to see anything clearly.
Hermione seemed to feel fine, as if she was used to the painful sensation, but Harry was screaming from the swollen eardrums and fainting brain, but incomprehensibly, he couldn't hear his own screams at all.
Then, suddenly, he felt his feet touch the solid ground again, and everything around him became clear again--
They were still in the ward, but it was pitch black, and they didn't know when the lights were turned off, and the noise outside the room had disappeared.
Harry looked around in confusion, his expression suddenly startled as he glanced at the clock hanging from the wall, for the hour and minute hands on the dial showed that it was still a moment before ten o'clock.
"Nine-forty---"
Hermione slipped the cloaks of invisibility on the two of them, and she muttered eagerly,
"Where are we at this time?"
"Maybe in the break room for the festivities--"
Harry had vaguely grasped a clue, but he couldn't believe his guess.
"Oh, yes, that's it!"
Hermione let out a whisper, and she grabbed Harry and rushed out of the room.
At this time, Madam Pomfrey had finished her rounds, and was sitting in her little room cosy with magazines and listening to songs on the radio, and she could not have imagined the trouble she would face in a few hours.
"What the hell are we-this--what's going on!"
As he climbed up to the third floor, Harry finally couldn't help but ask.
"We have gone backwards in time. Whew, use this time turner—"
As they rushed upstairs, Harry and Hermione spotted Percy, who was also climbing the stairs, and he seemed to be in a good mood, humming a song alone, apparently having finished patrolling the castle and was going back to the dormitory to rest.
Hermione paused, and when Percy was out of sight, she took Harry's hand and ran down the third-floor hallway.
"I got it from Professor McGonagall on the first day I came back last semester, and I relied on it for all my classes throughout the year, and Professor McGonagall made me swear not to tell anyone, and she wrote a lot of letters to the Ministry of Magic to get one for me, and she had to prove to them that I was a model student, and that I would never use it for anything other than academics. I reversed it and it could be restarted for a while, so I could have several classes at the same time, you know. ”
If it weren't for the fact that he had already experienced so many accidents tonight, Harry would have expressed his surprise at the time-turner.
"Oh-"
Just then, Hermione braked suddenly, and she stopped, expressing surprise at an office with an open door on the side of the hallway.
"He forgot to close the office door—"
Hermione whispered, but then, realizing that she shouldn't make any noise, covered her mouth again.
This was Professor Lupin's office, but he wasn't in the office himself, and Harry suddenly remembered that Professor Lupin should be on his way back after washing, and from the map Hermione opened, Harry confirmed this.
"Speaking of which, how did you find out that Professor Lupin is. Is it a werewolf? ”
Among the things that surprised Harry tonight, Professor Lupin's werewolf status was definitely in the top three, and when he was in the Forbidden Forest before, Harry didn't have a chance to ask Hermione how he found out about the secret, but now, he couldn't help but be curious.
"Remember, Harry, Professor Lupin taught us how to deal with Boggart in the first lesson, when Boggart turned into a moon when he faced Professor Lupin. Later, he called in sick for a few days a month, which I wondered all the time, and before Christmas, I previewed the Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook in advance and saw the introduction of the werewolf—"
Hermione cautiously poked her head into Professor Lupin's office, and there was no one there.
On the map of the living spots, Professor Lupin has appeared on the fourth-floor staircase on the other side, and the location of the Gryffindor Tower, where the names of Ron and Harry are intersecting with Percy.
"It's weird--"
Hermione said sneeringly.
"What's wrong, what's wrong?"
Harry asked quickly, and Hermione pointed to the Gryffindor common room, her tone full of confusion,
"See, Harry, we were led out of the common room by Peter, you see, we're going downstairs, but I don't see Peter's name on the map."
