Chapter 304: The Original Way
Harry poked his head out, staring at the map spread out in Hermione's hand with burning eyes, and then he realized that there was more to it than that.
As it approached ten o'clock, they were chasing Spotted downstairs, but the map only showed their names, but there was no Spotted in the castle, and instead, at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Harry saw Hagrid crouching in his cabin, Sirius and Crook Lynx in a small square on the map.
At the back of the house, near the Forbidden Forest, the names of Malfoy and Peter loomed.
"There's no time to think about that, Harry."
Hermione snapped close the map, and she took Harry by the hand and broke into Professor Lupin's office, leaving it behind, and then eagerly tugged at his sleeve and squeezed it out through the crack in the door.
"Professor Lupin's map—" Harry said confusedly, "we left it for him?" ”
"Isn't that obvious, Dumbledore has made it clear enough."
Hermione said angrily, Harry wanted to ask something, but the sound of hurried footsteps on the other side of the stairs and Professor Lupin on the other side blocked his mouth.
Even though they knew they couldn't see themselves, Harry and Hermione's hearts were pounding with nervousness, especially Hermione, who had memorized hundreds of prohibitions related to time magic before she got the hard-won time-turner from Professor McGonagall, and had seen countless cases of wizards throughout the ages who had caused serious accidents due to the wrong use of the time-turner.
Judging by the sequence of events, they appeared here unharmed, but Hermione couldn't contain her nervousness.
What happened next, even Harry, who was accustomed to the magic of magic, could only be described as wonderful.
He saw Ron and himself appear in his field of vision at the same time, just a few dozen feet away from them, and they were hurrying after the specks that flashed in sight, and then Hermione grabbed them by the collar and dragged them behind the tapestry.
Harry subconsciously held his breath as Professor Lupin had already walked over slowly, and Harry looked at Professor Lupin sadly, for what was about to happen, but he didn't need to be reminded by Hermione, and he knew what the consequences would be if he did.
Click-
Professor Lupin, with a tired face, closed the door to his office, and the three Harry behind the tapestry rushed down without a second of delay.
Harry and Hermione under the cloak of invisibility did not move, quietly waiting for what would happen next.
It was only half a minute before the door in front of Harry and Hermione suddenly opened, and Professor Lupin appeared grabbing the parchment, his expression so different from when he had just entered, that he couldn't see the slack at all.
Lupin grabbed the parchment and rushed downstairs, and Harry knew what he was going to do.
When Professor Lupin rushed downstairs as well, Harry tried to catch up, but the sound of hurried footsteps came from the far end of the hallway, forcing Harry to cling to the window opening, holding back his anxious mood and waiting for the visitor to pass by.
It's Professor Snape!
Walking faster than usual had turned Snape's robe into a cape, and Harry could even feel the chill emanating from Snape as he passed by.
Even if Harry didn't want to, he had to admit that they couldn't have escaped from the werewolves tonight without Snape.
"How the hell did Snape find out?"
When Snape's hurried footsteps became slight, Harry, who was almost suffocated, gasped for a few breaths, and then couldn't wait to ask,
"He didn't have a map in his hand, and I kept wondering how he found out something was wrong."
"Needless to say, Harry!"
After going through so many things, Hermione was more anxious than usual, and she said a little impatiently,
"That direction is Professor Blaine's office, Professor Snape found out through those magical lenses, he must have seen what we were chasing, and then, he saw Professor Lupin leave the office, sensed something was wrong, and followed us. Well, let me think, what should we do now? ”
Hermione was thinking with an eyebrow, and Harry was thinking about the man who had saved them from the Dementors' mouths.
Who is he?
Harry was silent, in his heart, hoping that the answer would be as he had guessed, but reason had told him it was impossible.
"If you can't figure out what to do, go the same way."
Hermione muttered distractedly, and she suddenly had an idea, grabbed Harry and ran downstairs.
The two of them walked along a straight path through the campus, without taking a detour or delay, so when they reached the pumpkin patch next to Hagrid's house, they hadn't shown up yet.
No sooner had they lurked in the tangle of pumpkin vines, at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, than Malfoy appeared without warning, and Spotted crouched on his head.
"Spotted--"
Harry exclaimed, and he tried to get up and rush over to grab the mouse, but Hermione threw himself on his back and held him down.
"Don't you understand, Harry, we're breaking one of the most important rules of magic right now, and if we're seen, we're doomed!"
Hermione squeezed a voice out between her teeth.
"Only Hagrid and Sirius—" Harry said with some reluctance.
Hermione didn't speak anymore, because then, Sirius had already spotted Malfoy and Spotted, and as Hagrid had said, Sirius went berserk with rage, and he grew in size in an instant, and he rushed towards Malfoy desperately under the gaze of Hagrid, who had walked out of the room at the sound of the movement.
Seeing this, Malfoy turned and mounted his broomstick, and sank into the abyssal Forbidden Forest without looking back.
"Look--"
Hermione said with bated breath,
"We're here."
It was true, at this point in time they were attracted by the barking of the teething dogs, and they ran from the path leading to the school gate.
They've all experienced the rest of the story, and there's nothing to see, Harry said with a wistful sigh,
"Peter fled, and didn't show up tonight, and if he can't be found, Sirius--"
"Not necessarily, Harry—"
The damp earth and the dew on the vine leaves made Hermione a little uncomfortable, and she adjusted her prostrate posture to look at them who were entanglement with Hagrid to break into the Forbidden Forest, and said slowly,
"Remember when you were in the Forbidden Forest, the Avada Spell that suddenly appeared?"
The name of the spell seemed to have a special magical power, and when its name appeared in the pumpkin patch, Harry felt a chill touch his skin, causing him to shiver for no apparent reason.
He hadn't heard of the spell before, but when Hermione did, he immediately thought of the green light that had caused his scar to ache sharply at night.
"You think Peter did it?"
"Apparently so--"
Hermione said quickly,
"I guess Peter's original plan was to bring Sirius into the Forbidden Forest, and if he were alone, he would have died at the hands of werewolves
It's just that we didn't expect us to show up later, and Professor Lupin and Professor Snape were attracted to us, and by mistake, so many people knew the truth of the year, which must have surprised Peter, but as long as Sirius died there, there was no proof of it. ”
Surrendering to Voldemort, killing his parents, lurking around the Weasleys and Ron for so long, and now, with all his thoughts on killing Sirius, Harry has not gone from hating anyone to this point except Voldemort.
Even the cold night breeze on the high ground could not extinguish the fire in Harry's heart at this moment.
The pumpkin underground struggle finally came to an end, and Hagrid led them into the Forbidden Forest, where they were greeted by a thrilling battle.
And just after they left, soothed by the moonlight, Lupin, who was particularly weak, appeared panting, asked Yaya for directions, and rushed into the Forbidden Forest.
Seeing that the time was almost right, Hermione was ready to get up and follow, there was still a long way to go from where the battle had taken place.
But at this moment, Harry suddenly stopped in a hurry, and he looked around as if he was looking for something.
"What are you talking about, Harry, we've got to keep up!"
"Wait, Hermione, maybe someone else will follow."
Harry knew they had no time to waste now, but he didn't move, his face full of anxiety.
"Harry!"
Hermione herself got up first, uncovered her cloak, and stomped her feet in exasperation.
"It's almost there, we'll have to wait—"
Harry also got up and looked around,
"Maybe someone else will come."
