Chapter 556: Banquet
At least in terms of eye-catching, Durmstrang's visitors appeared in the same way as Beauxbatons.
"How the hell did this ship get here?"
Neville asked in a tone of great shock as a majestic ship fully surfaced from the surface of the Black Lake, emitting the glimmer of a ghost ship beneath the Moon,
"The Black Lake is not connected to the sea!"
"They're certainly not going to come here normally--" Hermione thought with a frown, "I guess the ship can change size and then teleport to the nearest water." ”
"Cool!" Seamus gasped and exclaimed.
The people on board were landing, and Harry could see the silhouettes of the men as they passed the porthole lights.
Harry noticed that they were all about the same size as Crabbe and Goyle, and then, as they walked closer, down the lawn into the foyer, Harry realized that they were all wearing a kind of fur cloak with unkempt fur. However, the man who led them to the castle wore a different kind of fur: silvery-white, soft and smooth, much like his hair.
"Dumbledore!"
As the man walked up the slope, he exclaimed enthusiastically, "How are you, my dear old fellow?" ”
"Great, thank you, Professor Karkaroff."
Dumbledore's eyes flickered as he smiled gently.
Karkaroff's voice was mellow and sweet, he was as tall and thin as Dumbledore, and when he walked in, he looked up at Hogwarts Castle in the darkness, smiling with emotion, but there was no smile in his eyes, still cold and sharp.
Karkarovlov lowered his head, ready to ask Beauxbatons if he had arrived, even though he had noticed that the twelve Pegasi and the huge carriage with Beauxbatons crest were not far away, and then, as soon as he looked down, he noticed that just as he was in a trance, a man flashed out from behind Dumbledore, also smiling at his team, and he didn't notice as he climbed.
"Ah, Professor Bryan, I'm wondering why I didn't see you!"
Karkaroff grinned and showed a mouthful of yellow teeth, "How are you doing?" ”
"I've been wasting my time, Professor Karkaroff--"
Amosta chuckled.
"You're still so humble and personable, Professor Brian—"
Karkaroff strode forward,
"Even if you've done something so amazing. Oh, come and see, Wickdore, this is the Amosta Bryan you've been talking about for months! ”
Karkaroff beckoned to a group of 'tiger-backed bear-waisted' men behind him, and then looked at Amosta,
"Ever since I met you at a Quidditch match, this kid has been obsessed with you and has always missed you!"
Victor Krum!
"Oh my God, can you believe it, Harry!" Ron's ears were red with excitement, "It's him, it's Krum, we dealt with him in the World Cup, and he called Dad to rescue us, oh, that's amazing, he's actually Durmstrang's representative!" ”
Without Ron's reminder, Harry had already found Krum in the crowd of Durmstrang with his striking hooked nose and two thick, dark eyebrows.
Just like the awe, curiosity, and adoration that the Beauxbatons students had when they saw Professor Brian, many of the young wizards at Hogwarts had fallen into this mood after hearing Krum's name, and they scrambled forward, hoping to see the boy who was talking to Professor Brian respectfully.
Harry noticed that Hermione was calm, and he didn't seem surprised that Durmstrang would have a world-class Quidditch star in his queue, so he asked for it.
"Have you forgotten?"
Hermione said calmly,
"That night, before Krum and we parted, he told Braine that he was a student of Durmstrang, and I guess he wouldn't give up on being a warrior of Durmstrang."
Harry frowned and thought for a moment, but there was so much going on that night that he didn't have Hermione's good memory to remember how Krum had introduced himself to Professor Blaine.
By the time several of the deans had beckoned the students of their respective houses back to the Great Hall, the people of Beauxbatons were already seated at the Ravenclaw tables, and after a commotion, everyone had found their seats.
There were many young wizards, including Ron, who were too busy to pay attention to whether they were looking at Victor Klum or the beautiful and amazing witch of Beauxbatons.
"That girl is a girl!"
Ron's choice was Fleur, and he said to Harry in a hoarse voice,
"Say, how did Professor Bryan know her?"
"I don't know!"
Hermione answered Harry's question scathingly, "Maybe like you, you got her attention with a silly look!" ”
Ron didn't reply, still staring obsessively at Fleur, who was looking at Professor Brian at the faculty table, as if he hadn't heard what Hermione was saying.
"Good evening, gentlemen, ladies, ghosts, and—especially, our distinguished guests from afar," Dumbledore smiled as he looked at the foreign students,
"It is with great joy that I welcome you to Hogwarts, and I hope and fully believe that you will feel comfortable and happy here."
Fleur came back to her senses, and she looked away from the handsome man at the front of the Great Hall, and instead looked critically at the Great Hall in which she was, and let out a distinctly sarcastic sneer.
"And no one forced you to stay!"
Hermione's face was ugly, she was annoyed by the girl.
Today's dinner was more sumptuous than ever, and the elves in the kitchen made a lot of new dishes to welcome the guests, but there were really not many young wizards who could really focus on food, most of the attention was on the students of the two schools who visited, and young wizards like Cedric Diggory, who aspired to become Hogwarts Warriors, were eagerly waiting for the moment to announce the Warrior selection mechanism.
"Whew-"
Halfway through the dinner, representatives of the Ministry of Magic hurried in, and Ludo Bagman greeted Lady Maxim and Professor Karkaroff breathlessly, before Dumbledore explained in a whisper,
"Barty said he wasn't at ease, so he personally followed the Magical Beasts Management and Control Division to investigate"
"It's like Barty's style—"
Amosta smiled, and he looked at Ludo Bagman, but Bagman did so quickly, as if afraid to make eye contact with him.
"Shhh
The pain in his calf finally brought Ron's gaze back to normal, and he hissed at the cold air and glared at Hermione in annoyance,
"You're going crazy again!"
"When you take your eyes back--" Hermione said unceremoniously, "maybe you'll find out who's coming!" ”
"What?"
Ron was still frowning, but at Harry's reminder, he looked at the faculty table and caught his eye on the smiling Ludo Bagman.
"Oh, it's Bagman!"
Ron suddenly became excited, and he turned his head to look at Harry,
"It's Bagman, Harry, we've got to go to him and ask about it!"
To be honest, Harry didn't want to spend any more energy on this matter, but he knew that Ron cared about this matter very much, and he also understood the meaning of hundreds of Galleons to Ron, and just as he hesitated, Ron looked embarrassed, he looked at Ludo Bagman who was pushing glasses with others at the faculty table, and said with a frown,
"Isn't this an occasion inappropriate, Harry, I mean, Bagman is here for the opening ceremony of the Goblet of Fire, maybe, we should change the moment."
Harry heard Hermione beside him sigh visibly, and before he could answer the question, Ron leaned over to Fred and George's side,
"What are you going to do, are you going to confront Bagman, you have also lost a lot of gold!"
"As long as you can catch him."
Fred said dryly.
"We're not going to let him go!"
George made the same statement.
