Chapter 555: Amosta's Influence
When Professor Dumbledore reminded him, the young wizards' eyes finally found their target, and above the Forbidden Forest, a black dot loomed in the void with the pure white snow-capped mountains as the background. It was discovered that the speed of the thing was extremely fast, and almost every time it blinked, the black dot grew larger.
"What's that!"
Hufflepuff's Justin Finchrie screamed excitedly,
"Is it an oversized flying carpet?"
Hermione gave a rather disapproving expression, if it was usual, she would have told Justin that flying carpets were a law-breaking means of transportation in the UK, but this occasion was unusual, she didn't say anything.
The little wizards watched as the behemoth swept across the dark blue sky at great speed, and as it became clearer, they could faintly hear a breathtaking whistling in the air, which Dennis Creevey said was like a house about to smash at them.
The truth was so close to what Dennis had said, that by the time the blackened behemoth passed over the roof of Hagrid's house, it was clear to everyone that it was a great powder-blue carriage flying, and twelve winged winged horses were flying through the air, all silver-maned horses, each as big as an elephant!
In order to counteract the powerful momentum of the flight speed, the carriage made an earth-shattering sound when it landed, and many young wizards were frightened and screamed, but Professor McGonagall immediately ordered the little wizards to keep their mouths shut and not lose their manners in front of the guests, but her own hats were crooked.
When the smoke cleared, a hundred and ten feet long brake marks appeared on the grassy field, and the castle keeper, Mr. Filch, immediately looked down on his face.
When Madame Maxim got out of the car, Amosta heard the unexpected exclamations of the young wizards behind him, who had apparently not expected that there were other people in the world besides trolls who could compete with Hagrid in terms of height.
With the professors taking the lead, there was a burst of applause outside the castle, which slackened the face of the tall woman who had walked into the foyer and let out a graceful smile as she walked towards Professors Dumbledore and Bryan, holding out a hand with many sparkling jewels.
Dumbledore, though also tall, barely bent down when he kissed the hand, and Professor Bryan even tiptoed to his tiptoes.
Such an occasion must be Dumbledore to act as the face of Hogwarts, so, after the courtesy greeting, Amosta took a half step back with a smile and stood beside Dumbledore, but Lady Maxim had no intention of ending after greeting Dumbledore, her dark and watery eyes stared at Amosta,
"I heard about that terrible attack in Beauxbatons, Brian—"
Madame Maxim said in a deep voice,
"I had a couple of students who were there at the time, and they came back and described to me what it was like that night, your mana is awesome, Brian—"
There was silence in the field, and the young wizards listened to their conversation with their ears pricked up, and many of them raised their jaws in pride when they heard Beauxbatons's astonishingly large headmistress pay tribute to Professor Brian.
"yes--"
Amosta was a little surprised that Madame Maxim would mention this on such an occasion, he blinked his eyes slightly in surprise, and then smiled,
"You've seen it when you're in Paris, haven't you, ma'am, I've had a knack for bluffing."
"Oh, not really!"
Some of the Hogwarts girls muttered dissatisfied.
But both Dumbledore and Lady Maxim laughed, and Lady Maxim looked satisfied, and she stepped out of the way, exposing the visiting young wizards of Beauxbatons to everyone's attention.
"They're so exquisite!"
Lavender exclaimed enviously as she noticed that the Beauxbatons students were dressed in silk, a luxurious aristocratic look that contrasted with the young wizards of Hogwarts.
"yes, we don't look decent compared to them!"
Parvati looked at Professor McGonagall with resentment, as Professor McGonagall had just ordered her to remove the butterfly hairpin from her head, the only decoration she had on her body.
"Stupid—"
Hermione whispered, disdainful, and didn't know if it was Lavender and Parvati, or the Beauxbatons students.
Harry must also admit that Beauxbatons' visiting little wizards' costumes looked shiny, but they were clearly a bit out of place, as they couldn't have tucked a woolen jacket under a silk school uniform that looked like a gown. And the temperature on the Hogwarts campus at the end of October doesn't take care of your desire to express yourself, and the young wizards of Beauxbatons are shivering from the cold, and several of them wrap themselves tightly in silk turbans to ward off the cold.
"Mr. Bryan!"
As the young wizards of Hogwarts were discussing the costumes of the Beauxbatons students, the little witches of the land, who came out from behind their headmaster, tore off her headscarf to reveal her true face, and her waterfall hair fell down suddenly. In the dim field, a silver light flashed.
Hiss--
The phalanx of Hogwarts suddenly erupted with a cold breath, and many students stared at the graceful female student in disbelief, their eyes almost bulging out of their sockets!
"It's amazing--"
Ron said in a hoarse, startled voice,
"This girl. Hey, that's not ordinary! ”
"Ah, yes, Miss Delacour—" Amosta pursed her lips and smiled, "Welcome to Hogwarts." ”
Perhaps not very satisfied with Amosta's cold, official greeting, Fleur, who had attracted countless eyes, moved her upright and shiny nose dissatisfied.
"Let's catch up later, Fleur—"
Madame Maxim lovingly interrupted Fleur to say something.
Maybe the young wizards of Hogwarts see Professor Bryan every day, so they don't have a deep sense of his current status in the wizarding world, but the young wizards of Beauxbatons are not the same thing. The duel of the century on the night of the Quidditch final had propelled Amosta Bryan to legendary status.
Madame Maxim led her students into the foyer, and every Beauxbatons who passed by Professor Blaine looked at him with awe and curiosity, and the little wizards who wrapped their turbans tore off their turbans so as not to appear disrespectful.
And the Hogwarts students who witnessed this scene were all honored.
"If Dumbledore is sensible enough--" Draco snickered in the Slytherin phalanx, "he should step down now." ”
Draco's words sparked a chord in Slytherin, and every Slytherin student was eager for Dumbledore to get out of the way and let the Slytherin-born Professor Bryne take the stage.
"Quiet--"
Severus Snape, who was standing behind the Slytherin phalanx, listened to the discussion of his house students, shook a few strands of hair on his forehead, and said lazily, but the meaning of command in his tone was almost non-existent.
It wasn't until Madame Maxim and her students disappeared from view that Ron reluctantly withdrew his gaze, and many of the boys sighed in disappointment like him, and now, they were waiting for Durmstrang's men to arrive, and people began to talk about whether Durmstrang's men would use dragons to pull the carriage.
They stood there waiting for Durmstrang's arrival, it was so cold that even the young Hogwarts wizards in thick cloaks were shivering with cold, and the young wizards gradually lost interest in the discussion, hoping to welcome the guests as soon as possible.
Harry looked at the Quidditch pitch with a little wist, this is the time when he should normally go to the Quidditch pitch to complete his daily running exercises, especially in such a cold weather, he is even more desperate to get some exercise and warm up instead of standing here stupidly.
"Madame Maxim doesn't look much different from a few months ago, and the little wizard she brought with her is also very energetic—"
Amosta whispered.
"I agree with you, Amosta—"
Dumbledore said with a gentle smile.
