Face yourself squarely, play to your strengths and avoid weaknesses

We don't have to dwell on our own shortcomings, let alone be proud of our strengths. Life lies in a grasp, grasp your own disadvantages, and try to make up for it; Grasp your own advantages and let it continue to "carry forward". Maybe our strengths are not strong enough, but there is always something to beat our opponents, and as long as we use them well, it will become a weapon for our success.

I once heard such a story, which is very interesting and very moral: there is a fox who always hides his shortcomings in every way. It tried to catch the mallard, but the duck flew away, and it said, "I think it's too thin, I'll wait until it's fattened." He went to the river to catch a fish, and the carp swept him by the tail, and he said, "I don't want to catch it at all, it's not easy to catch it?" I just wanted to use its tail to wash my face. Before he could finish speaking, he slipped and fell into the river, and when his companion saw this, he tried to save him, and he said, "Do you think I am in danger?" No, I'm swimming......" as she spoke, and it sank. That's when the companions said, "Let's go, it's performing dives again." "You may think this fox is ridiculous and pathetic, but have we noticed that it is actually quite similar to some of us? We sometimes deceive ourselves and others, living in a self-constructed "perfect" world, believing that our shortcomings are not visible and dare not face them, so we try to hide them.

In fact, no one in this world is useless, and no one is perfect. The ruler is short, the inch is long, and people have shortcomings, but they must also have advantages. Many people have low self-esteem, feel that they are not good, that is not good, and that is not as good as others, precisely because when they look at themselves, they only have flaws in their eyes, so they compare their own flaws with the strengths of others, of course, they are ashamed of themselves; There are also some people who are very conceited and feel that they are simply impeccable, because they can only see their own strengths, and when they look at others, they only look at their shortcomings, so they begin to drift and do not know why; There are also some people who are like the foxes in the story, knowing that they have shortcomings, but they don't admit it, and in the end they don't want to cover it up? This kind of person is vain and tired.

Obviously, all of these ideologies are highly undesirable. On the road of life, if we still want to do something, then we must be self-aware and confident, so that we can make an accurate positioning of our life coordinates.

We can know ourselves, so that we can measure our own strengths and weaknesses when encountering problems, not self-righteous, nor self-indulgent, promote our own strengths, avoid our own shortcomings, seek advantages and avoid disadvantages, and achieve something. As a result, self-confidence arises spontaneously.

I think that back then, Mr. Mao Sui was able to become famous with a recommendation, didn't he rely on this self-confidence? But in fact, Mao Sui's self-knowledge is even more admirable.

I believe that the story of "Mao Sui's self-recommendation" is already familiar to everyone, so I won't repeat it here. So let's think about it, why did Mao Sui stay unknown for three years under the Pingyuan Junmen, who is known for his good understanding of people? Why did Mao no longer keep a low profile and stand out as soon as Chu's incident came out?

Obviously, Mao Sui knew his own characteristics well, presumably he knew that he was not a "strategic minister", so he did not show it when he shouldn't, so Mao Sui was "buried". However, when the opportunity to show his strengths came, Mr. Mao was no longer silent, he knew that he was superior in verbal negotiations, and that he was a diplomat. And it was this self-knowledge that made him neither humble nor arrogant in the face of Pingyuanjun's contemptuous attitude, and finally stood out and affirmed himself. In the second year after Mao Sui relieved the siege of Handan of Zhao with his generous speech, Yan took advantage of the fact that Zhao was out of breath and could not win, and sent a general to attack Zhao. Who will be in command to defend against a strong enemy? This time, King Zhao remembered Mao Sui, who dared to recommend himself, and was ready to promote him to be the commander and command the army. When Mao Sui heard the news, he was taken aback and hurriedly ran to King Zhao, but this time he did not "recommend" himself, but to "resign" himself. He said this: "It's not that I'm afraid of death, it's really that I'm weak and low, and I can't afford this position, I can be a pawn on a horse, and I can't hang a robe to lead the seal official. "I recommended myself back then, and I was full of spirit! At this time, it is unbelievable to say that one hair, if there are two people. King Zhao was very puzzled by this, and asked: "Mr. recommended himself last year, and he is a talented man, a great husband; Now standing out, it is the time to make contributions, how can you be like a little woman? Mao Sui replied: "The inch is long, the ruler is short, Qiji is a thousand miles a day, and catching mice is not as good as a snake and a cat." I should not give in to the three-inch tongue, I can't fight the three-foot sword, how dare I test my incompetence with the safety of my family and country? It is said that Mao Sui's words are reasonable, but in order to show that he is thirsty for talent, King Zhao does not enter at all, and insists that he take command to meet the enemy. As Mao Sui said, he is only a diplomatic talent, not a general who commands thousands of troops, the Zhao army in the first battle of Qamdo was killed by the Yan army, Mao Sui faced a tragic defeat, was full of shame and died. Being able to know one's strengths and weaknesses, promoting one's strengths and avoiding weaknesses, Mao Sui's cleverness is obviously not only above his tongue, but King Zhao is too rigid and self-serving, so that Mao Sui and tens of thousands of Chu soldiers died in Changdu, this lesson is very worthy of the advice of friends who are managers. In fact, if we can know people and good people on the basis of self-knowledge, then we will be more intelligent.

To get back to the point, it's still the same sentence, the most important thing is to recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and throw your energy and sweat in the right place. If it's a rabbit, it's supposed to go for a race instead of a swim; If it's a lark, it's supposed to sing, not fight in the sky. If we are physically fit and talented, but we have repeatedly hit a wall on the road to becoming an artist, then we might as well stop and look at ourselves to see if we are more suitable for the entertainment field or the sports field. In fact, as long as we can find our own role positioning and create our own advantages to make up for our own shortcomings, then we can become strong in that field.

We often envy the successful people in our lives, and even think that they are so perfect. In fact, successful people, like us, also have shortcomings in a certain aspect. The reason why successful people are successful is that they know how to develop their strengths and avoid weaknesses, can make full use of their existing advantages, avoid life risks, plan their life direction, and move towards the established life goals step by step.

In fact, you and I can be successful, as long as we make some changes to the status quo: first, face up to our flaws, but don't let the flaws become your confusion, don't let it affect your success; Second, position your role in life, tap and give full play to your strengths, develop your strengths and avoid weaknesses, and form advantages.

On this basis, if we can know ourselves and know our opponents, face our opponents, and fight our weaknesses with our strengths, what will life be like? It's like racing horses, with our superior horses against their medium horses, and our medium horses against their inferior horses, then isn't life a sure win?
