8. Work hard to create a new world of your own
In this world, no one can absolutely control the thoughts of others, the road is under their own feet, anyone can walk out of their own way, ordinary or great, anyway, in the end it is still in the ground. We just hear and see the successes of too many people, and how much success we have ourselves, and if success is so easy, then there is nothing strange about this world.
It is not difficult for us to find that some successful people have this advantage: positive and enterprising, and have the courage to fight. In many special times, you fight hard, and what seems hopeless is done.
There is a person who keeps to himself, never fights with others in his life, and is not willing to kill even a mosquito in his life.
As a child, he was a playmate's "horse" and was ridden under his crotch. Growing up, he was the object of ridicule by people, even beggars who begged for a living, laughed at his pedantry. He never knew how to be angry, and in this world, he lived like a weed all his life, grew old, and finally died.
He came to heaven and he found a long line in front of the gate of heaven, and everyone was scrambling to enter the gate of heaven early.
He thought, he can't fight with anyone, or there will be trouble. So, he was at the back of the line alone. There were constant queues in front, for which many people scuffled, and then compromised, and the ranks returned to calm. He didn't dare to cut in line, he didn't even have such thoughts. There were also people who kept asking him if he could give up his place to them. He agreed, and stood at the back of the line. He has a good reputation here, and all the newcomers will let him give up his place to them.
He was always at the back of the line, so that after centuries he had not yet entered heaven. He grew impatient, but he never dared to talk to anyone, let alone get angry. Everyone said that he had a mild temper, and then, as in the human world, began to make fun of him as a game.
Finally, he met an angel. He boldly asked, "Angel, why can't I enter heaven when I have stood here for hundreds of years?" ”
The angel told God about his situation. God said, "You're talking about the one who is always at the back of the line, right?" Let him go to hell. ”
The angel told him the word of God, and he was finally angry. He went to God and asked, "God, didn't you leave heaven to those who are gentle and merciful?" ”
God said, "Yes, but I am reserved for those who are brave enough to forge ahead, and not wait to enter heaven!" If you don't need to struggle, you don't need to be aggressive, then hell is right for you. ”
God had some compassion on him and let him reincarnate again, and he returned to earth. He became a different person, and he dealt with everything with a positive attitude, and he became rich and became a philanthropist in society. After his death, he arrived at the gate of heaven, and he fought hard to get in, and finally ascended to heaven without any problems.
This parable tells us that no matter from the perspective of being a person or doing things, the road to heaven will not be obtained because you have no quarrel with the world, and you can only get everything by fighting for yourself.
Recently, a letter named "Ultimate Expectation" has been circulating among young people in Taiwan and Singapore, which is a fictitious letter from Bob Nelson, the number one employee motivation expert in the United States, in the book "Don't Just Do What I Tell You, Please Do What Needs to Be Done", which is used by many companies around the world as the core reading book for employee training. The letter reads:
Dear Staff,
We hired you because you can meet some of our pressing needs. If you didn't have the ability to meet the requirements, we wouldn't have to bother. However, we believe in the need for someone with the skills and experience you do, and we believe that you are the best person to help us achieve our goals. So, we offered you the position, and you gladly accepted. Thank you!
During your tenure, you will be asked to do many things: general duties, special tasks, team and individual projects. You'll have plenty of opportunities to outperform others, show how good you are, and show us how wise your decision was to hire you in the first place.
However, there is one of the most important responsibilities that your boss may always keep secret, but you should always keep it in mind during your tenure. That's what businesses expect from you in the ultimate – always do what is so much needed to be done, without having to wait for someone else to ask you to do it.
Yes, we hired you to work, but more importantly, we hired you to think, use your judgment, and act whenever and wherever you need it, in the best interests of the company.
If no one mentions this principle to you since, don't mistake it for thinking that it's because it's no longer relevant or because we've changed our mind. It's possible that we're dealing with busy day-to-day business, dealing with endless operational changes, and competing against the clock. Our day-to-day work practices may make you feel that this principle no longer applies. But don't be fooled by this appearance.
Don't forget for a moment what the ultimate business expects from you. During the existence of your employment relationship with us, let it always be by your side, become a guiding light for your proactive work, and spur your thinking and action at all times.
As long as you are our employee, you have our permission to act proactively in our common best interests.
At any time, if you feel that we are not doing the right thing — not doing what is good for all of us — please speak up. You have our permission to speak up, make your suggestion, or challenge an action or decision when necessary.
This does not mean that we will necessarily agree with you, or that we will necessarily change our current practices; However, we will always be happy to listen to what you think will help us better achieve the results and goals we are looking for, and in the process create a successful experience of helping others.
If you're looking for changes to existing work processes, you must first make an effort to understand how existing workflows work. Try to work within the existing systems first, but if you feel that these systems need to change, don't hesitate to let us know.
Your honest manager: Like many other good pieces of advice, the ultimate expectation is simple common sense.
Once you understand the ultimate expectation, you have to put it into practice in your daily work. There is nothing more critical to your success in your job, your career, and your life than taking on this challenge.
It is an open letter full of affection, inspiring people to work and be motivated, it proposes that everyone should actively work hard to achieve their dreams, and it calls on employees to take positive action for the common good and strive for the common vision of mankind.
We should extend this to the following point: what about work? Give a kind reminder to strangers, give a friend a help within your ability, and don't think about your efforts when you encounter problems...... Positive action and hard work will make your life path wider and wider.
