Burden - Chapter XVI.5
Fifty paces away. Forty years old. A
d
Okles put down everything except the spear and took a few steps forward. Twenty. Ten.
Androx, screaming for blood, raised his spear and charging at the oncoming cavalry. He jumped up to stab him.
He is lucky enough to shoot the protagonist in the throat and then crashes heavily into the protagonist's horse, almost losing his balance. Androcles retracted his feet under him, leaned his back against the dead man's horse, and kicked the torso of the next animal, opening up some space.
One javelin whistled past his neck, then another over his stomach. Androcles turned his spear and let the tip of the spear plunge into the leg of one of the soldiers closest to him, deep into his groin. It pierced the bones and pushed him off the saddle. The soldier let out a terrible scream and fell under the hooves of another horse. His screams turned deadly.
Five warriors surrounded Androcleus, but they were suddenly shocked and hesitated, because he was really fighting them and had killed two of them so quickly. They did not expect serious resistance. Through their helmets, he could see their wide eyes. But the influx of media forced them to pluck up their courage, and they raised their swords.
Then more than a dozen fighters appeared, and in the blink of an eye, there were too many to count. It's just that their poor discipline slows down their swords β they don't give each other enough space to swing properly. Soon that won't matter, though. He didn't move much, either.
Androclus held on as long as he could, he could not see Agn and the others, and could only silently pray to the gods that they would escape safely. Far enough. They just have to go far enough.
The first wound came from the back, with a shallow cut on the back of his shoulder. The second shot followed, and a javelin bounced off his shin.
He dodged the swing around his neck, then pulled him off his horse with one arm and threw him under the leg of the other. He dodged the second and third attacks in time. He blocked the fourth with his spear, and then he was kicked in the back of the neck, so hard that he threw his head back.
There are too many of them. Some wore winged helmets and mounted spears, some wore thick leather jackets and swords, and some carried ready-made javelins, all of whom wanted to outwit their neighbors and seize the advantage. And it's all on horseback. A
d
Okles are not accustomed to fighting at equal heights.
He was kicked again, kicking him hard in the forearm and knocking his spear off. A man on the other side of him plunged a sword into the hole. Androcle lowered his hand and grabbed the blade near the hilt of the sword, stopping the sword just inches from his teeth.
There is no time left. If Agunn didn't have a shield yet, there was nothing he could do. Andlox stood straight, his eyes down, his face furious, unleashing his murderous intent.
Anger erupted from him, slamming down on the soldiers like a volcanic shockwave. The air churned and tore. The clothes and hair began to dance and burn, as if seized by the wind of the flames.
It was more murderous than he had expected. Definitely better than Wolf SCA
There is a lot more miasma released. There was so much emanation, so clarity, that his mind could follow it. It seemed to be a part of him, an extension of his consciousness outside of his body. He could feel the shape of almost everything around him, the wriggling flesh of his enemies, the ground drying and cracking beneath his feet.
The last few horses have stopped, and most have fallen to the ground and died. He had to step quickly to avoid being knocked down. Those within five steps of him either died on the spot or immediately fainted. Ten steps away, they gasped, trembled, collapsed to the ground, and convulsed. The horses lost their minds and some fell; Others tried to flee. The sound of bones shattering echoed through the air.
The warband did not relent. There are too many people who ride too fast to stop. Their approach was like a hand pressing on his flesh, clearly pressing his murderous intent. The closer they got to him, the stronger his awareness of them became, until he felt as if he could touch their lives with the fingers of his heart. He felt how his wrath oppressed them, causing them to suffer and die.
He briefly turned his attention to those who had fallen but survived. He could feel the life in them, like a mass of strength that could only withstand the flames for so long. One of them disappeared in the blink of an eye, like a child's sand sculpture being swept away by the waves. And then another. Whatever his strength to fight for survival was, it dissipated under his relentless rage.
At this point, those farther away began to slow down, and the rest seemed to have noticed that something was wrong. They might be able to taste it on TV. If the wolf sca
It's true, there may be some distance.
He looked around and estimated that more than twenty people were now dead or incapacitated, a significant portion of their number.
Andlox glanced quickly behind him. Thanks to the gods, Aguna raised his shield, and the beasts and children were inside. In his new consciousness, her shield felt slippery, fleeting, impossible to grasp.
She had a bloody red wound on her temple, and a dead Artebrogia at her feet, holding a knife in her hand. He didn't know how she used it to kill a person. Gabby is uninjured and it looks like Flower is still sleeping.
He turned around contentedly, and the handle of the javelin hit his forehead and bounced back.
Anchors saw a flash of white light, and his eyes temporarily lost focus. As his consciousness flashed, the dull, thumping pain of a cracked skull echoed in his mind. His murderous intent went out like a lamp under his thumb.
The second javelin missed his flesh, but it hit his trouser leg, which got stuck in a hole in the cloth. The third and fourth balls missed, and he bent down to pull the second free kick. He stood up, sideways to dodge the fifth, his chest squeezed and almost pierced due to a broken rib. The pain was enough to take him out of breath. It's too easy to ignore.
The soldiers stopped the charge and began to spread out in a semicircle around him, and they must have thought that the distance was safe. Of course, they were given the appropriate tactics to deal with him. Lovely. They must not have believed their orders at first, or they might never have sued him.
A
d
OKLES did not wait. He only had a moment to break down the formation. He turned, ready to charge in one of the corners of the semicircle, raised his spear and shouted loudly. He expected a hail of javelins, so he kept his light pace in order to jump to the side or fall, but the riders tried to reverse and ended up colliding with their neighbors. Some raised their swords to stop him from approaching, others had javelins ready, but before they could throw them, he got them.
His mind was now clear again, and he unleashed his killing intent to stop it from roaring out of his skin and engulfing the nearest man and beast.
He doesn't need a spear. The impact on them was immediate. A small number of people died. Another one fell and twitched. Those farther away were pale and trembling.
Andlos spun around and rushed through the clearing in the middle of the circle he had just adjusted. At least thirty people raised their javelins, their hands shaking as they prepared to throw.
He accumulates and releases more anger. The air fluctuates. It trembled, as if it were afraid of him. The ground blocked his feet. Snow and water suddenly turned to steam, and the dry leaves immediately turned into wisps of smoke.
Only one person threw a javelin. Anclex could barely move as soon as he tried to react, when he realized that he could feel the thing flying in the air. His instinctive reaction drew all his attention to the javelin, and before he could realize what was happening, his broad rage suddenly pounced on the javelin like a clapping hand.
It exploded into smoke and iron dust. The sound beat against his skin, making his ears ring. Fifty horses panicked and tried to throw the rider down. The frenzied cavalry tried to pacify them, but a dozen were thrown down, and a dozen more were taken away by the fleeing beasts. The warband was in chaos, and the air was filled with their piercing cries.
A
d
Okles didn't wait to see them regroup. He rushed forward excitedly, feeling their lives disappear one by one. Those who were far enough away to keep their heads clear turned their horses around and fled at full speed.
Except for three. They rushed into his killing intent like a trirem of warship, approaching him before he realized the danger.
The two men rode to either side of him and aimed their swords at his neck. Androcleus blocked his head with a spear.
The third rider's horse slammed into him, knocking him to the ground. A
d
Okles rolled after it, but the horse ran faster. It had erected itself and pounced on him with its hooves.
He had been kicked by hooves in the shoulders and arms, and he didn't expect it to hurt as much except that the stitches under the bandages had been torn open. The soldier tried to split his skull with the edge of his small round shield, but Anchors took a step back just in time.
He heard a shrill whisper and noticed the two severed heads, two of which were hanging from the ropes in the saddle. Their mouths are open, their faces are shriveled and stiff, their eyes are sunken and hollow, and their hair is blackened by oil and decay. Yet they were twitching, and he dared to swear they were whispering.
The other two riders circled back, ready to pounce on him again. They also cut off two or three heads, each of whom was tied to the saddle with a rope. Farther away, the remaining dozens of militants have already begun to regroup to watch. There is no front.
Andex frowned at himself. He should have expected it. Did he think that only kings and princes had magic to protect themselves in battle? Absurd. He was lucky that these people chose to wait for their turn instead of rushing at him at the first charge. They most likely dismembered him before he realized what was happening.
Now what? Try to pull your head away? Stab them twice and kill them?
One thing is clear now, though. He did not intend to fight this army alone and achieve victory, wherever and no matter what. His chances of victory in the mountain pass were still much better than elsewhere, but if the king could send a hundred, or fifty, or even ten, then it didn't matter where he fought them. He's going to lose.
The two knights raised their swords again, this time stabbing rather than slashing. They lunged at him with expert precision. He casually noticed that one of them was left-handed. He raised his spear and was ready.
The soldiers stabbed forward, aiming directly at his heart. At the last moment, he put the spears on the butts, crouched under their thorns, and grabbed their ankles with both hands.
Their forward momentum nearly dislocated his shoulders, but he held on. The muscles in his chest and arms were as hard as steel, and the pressure on his ribs caused a sharp pain that he could not help but whimper.
The two men were ripped from the saddle and fell beside him. As the three of them struggle not to expose themselves to the blade, it turns into a frantic tangle. One man's helmet was lost, but he pulled out a knife that nearly hurt Andrx's eye. The other hit and kicked, trying to break free, and slipped away.
A
d
Okles rolls the knife over the man and hits him on the nose with his forehead. It's connected, but it's almost harmless. It feels like bouncing on an inflated bladder. The man is still protected by witchcraft.
He snatched the knife from the man's hand and threw it out. Then he grabbed a handful of dirt and shoved it into the man's eye, pressing and rubbing it. Let those withered heads protect him!
The other picked up a long sword.
A
d
Okles rolled off the enemy, jumped up and intercepted the first swing in time. There was no dodge in this range, so he closed the distance and blocked the attack by grabbing the man's front elbow. He reached in, grabbed one of the helmet's wings, and jerked it off, only to find him fighting a man his age, his face contorted with the threat of fear.
In a fit of rage, he grabbed the man's head with both hands, turned away, and used his momentum to lift the man off his feet and throw him into the air. Andlocks turned, jerked the man's neck as if he was calling a chicken, and threw the still twitching body to his companion. Let the head protect them from harm!
The second man tried to grab the body and push it down. A
d
Okles walked over and brutally kicked the man in the throat, pushing him back to the ground. He leaned hard and dug in, feeling all the tendons in the man's neck squeezing each other. The man's face turned purple. His eyes bulged. He writhed around, trying to punch Androx's calf, but to no avail.
As the man writhed his last finger pitifully, Andrecks set his sights on the third rider. The man stopped charging, his sword pointing feebly at the ground.
"Come, weak man! Andlos shouted, raising his arms in challenge. "Come and save your friend!"
True anger fueled his murderous intent, and this desire grew stronger. It began to center on him, revolving around a great circle. Smoke rose from everything within twenty pacesβgrass, leaves, cloth, hair. However, like an outcrop surrounded by raging waves, the knight's magic still resists.
The man's horse took a few steps back, twisted the reins, and hurried to escape. The man's severed head in the saddle bounced and fluttered violently under his own power.
The person lying on the ground was paralyzed by the lack of air for too long.
The corpse, with its broken neck, could no longer resist the heat of its rage, and lit a fire, roaring into a ten-foot-tall pillar of oily fire. A
d
Okles barely walked away in time to avoid his pants being caught.
This is unbearable for the enemy. The rest of the men turned and kicked their horses and galloped away. When he walked up to the stunned group of people who kept their distance, they fell behind him and were quickly engulfed in the woods.
A
d
Okles retracted his killing intent and rushed in, filling the void it left behind. It took him ten full breaths to calm down and gather his thoughts.
He looked at his hands, even though his strength was not in them. His murderous intent was that he didn't know what to do. How could he feel anything through it? Why has it been so many years that it has taken to get to now? He didn't know, but he knew it felt natural. Clear, pure, inevitable. A part of himself.
The chill on his skin allowed him to see where the blood was bleeding, and thankfully, it wasn't too bad. He suffered minor injuries to both his head and arms.
"Is it safe now, Dad?" Gabi shouted. She just seemed a little nervous, and it seemed that there was never a suspense in the outcome. He didn't know whether to be proud or annoyed.
"Yes, it's safe now," he replied. With each step he took, the pain in his ribs got worse until he found himself hissing, panting, hunched over. The pain was severe enough to make him sick. The gods are above, and he will vomit.
"Okay, I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere! She shouted.
He straightened up, amazed at her audacity, and saw her leap past him on a stag. She stood and rode bravely, like a captain standing in the bow of a ship. The animal held her so gracefully, she never went in the wrong direction. Her blonde hair glistened in the wind and sun, and she quickly untied most of the ribbons.
Androx wanted to shout at her to stop, reached out and grabbed her, staring at her in surprise, perhaps scared. However, he did nothing. What should a man with such a child do? Get used to it. What is it. "Don't go too far, Miss Gabby." That's all he said.
"I won't, Daddy," she could have replied. He didn't hear clearly. She walked too fast. That's when he understood what she was doing - her goal was a horse with no rider wandering not far away. As soon as she got close enough, Galby began to talk to it, and the gods testified, and the thing stopped, turned its head, and listened to her.
Androcles sighed, stepped over the man Arguna had killed, and pulled her hand away, where she was holding a cloth over the wound on her temple. "It doesn't look too bad. Stitches may not be required at all. Although I don't think we even have needles left, do we?"
"I didn't. Maybe Gabi knows," she said calmly.
His hand rested on her head for a moment. "You know what we're going to do for the rest of our lives isn't going to be so fun. This is it. β
She snorted and pushed his hand away. "You know we're all going to die. That's it, you damn fellow. β
"Then I don't think we really need to sew it up. Hand me the knife. He held out his hand and said.
Agunn frowned and slapped it into his palm. He took it and walked over to the alien she had killed. The man's armor was covered with a rough cotton shirt, a shirt woven from iron chains. The cotton looked as clean as anything he could find, so he cut a long strip with a knife and tied it to Agern's wound as a bandage. Now that's all there is to it.
"The next time you need to kill, do it before they hit you with a sword," he said.
Arguna gritted her teeth, trying to come up with a not-so-obvious good answer, and finally said, "Stop making fun of me, go and call your daughter." Looking at you, I'm exhausted, you exhausted three-legged mule. β
"I'm telling you, I'm not a mule. I'm a pure Indian jerk," Androx said.
He turned around to see if he could find Gabi, hoping to shout close enough to him that she could hear him too. However, she wasn't too far away, about fifty paces on the other side of the battlefield passage. She was still standing on top of her big red stag, her arms crossed and her hips, staring intently into the woods, motionless. A horse stands beside her, patiently waiting for her to finish what she is doing.
A
d
Okles began to walk towards her, and at that moment two more horses appeared and walked towards her. They licked their lips and lowered their heads as they approached, and he wondered for a moment if they were taking her for food. But before he could shout, they raised their noses and rubbed them affectionately against her face, while she patted them on the head. When the small group was satisfied, the stag turned, and Gabby walked back with three saddled alien horses.
She rode straight towards him, her arms crossed, her small forehead furrowed, showing childish seriousness. When she got there, she shook her finger at him from her stag and said in a warning tone. "Dad, I have a few horses. You have to ride, and you can't argue! I bought you one, even if you're tired, it's okay. You can't go, because if we go too slow, they'll catch us. So you can ride the one that's brown all over, because he's the strongest. If you want to say you can walk, shut your mouth!"
If she hadn't been scared of the fight, for fear that her eyes would have sparkled like a beaten dog, he might have been angry at her for scolding him. In fact, he loved her for it, brave little thing. How noble his children were.
"Why did you buy three?" He asked. The brown one did look strong, at least for the time being; He rode a horse, and the horse didn't run long. But it's not his horse, so he thinks it's good.
"Because flowers need to be ridden. Ash is tired. She's just a wolf. β
"Isn't Bobby tired too?" Androcs asked, boldly hoping that they would finally leave the abominable beast behind.
"No, he can run very far." Well, let's stop there.
"You're doing well, Ga
bi girl. We will ride horses. Come here, Arguern. βA
d
Okles helped the woman to the saddle, because she had no way to climb up herself. She felt lighter than she looked, which bothered him, but after a few minutes, his hand remembered her warmth.
He went to Ash's back to save Flower. He untied the little boy's hands and feet, and frowned as he looked at the rough skin beneath the rope. The flower resists slightly, but never fully awakens. The boy does know how to sleep.
"What do you think, Arguna?" Should we wake him up, or hold him like this?"
"I wasn't good enough to ride him through a chase. I'm going to drop his head off. What about you?"
"I'm going to ride as lightly as possible, or the beast's belly will drag to the ground."
Gabby said, "Just put him there." He can continue to sleep. Put him in the saddle. The milk drops won't leave him. Hurry up, Dad, hurry up, before they get back!"
βMilkd
op ?β
"That's what I named her. Put him on it! Let's go! She said nervously.
A
d
Okles glared at her, making her realize that she was talking to him, and lowered her eyes, but she wasn't wrong. There is no extra time. He put the flower on the horse's back and put him in the saddle, hoping that its four horns would hold him in place.
"Agn, you follow him, just in case. There's no way he's going to stay there. β
"Your horse will be the slowest. No matter how we start, you're going to end up falling behind," she said.
"I'm the only one who knows where we're going," he replied briefly. He walked up to the brown horse, which did look fatter than the others. It looked back at him, and he could swear that he saw fear and resignation in its eyes.
"We all know where we're going, you idiot. You pointed it out. Aguna said.
"Oh? Can you find it from here?"
She was pointing in the right direction, or closer enough. He frowned.
"Daddy," said Galby, "I can go ahead and let Poppy find the best way to go." β
"Why him? Androx said.
"He's good at finding trails and hiding from hunters. Because he is a deer. β
"But ......what if," he wanted to say, but stopped again because he couldn't find a good answer. He didn't like the idea of following the complacent future victim, not at all. But he needed a better reason than this, otherwise he would seem stingy, but he didn't.
"Ash can listen, and she can sniff out if there's a horse because she's a wolf. Dad, Flower helped last night. I want to help now. I can help as much as anyone else. β
The little princess stood on the shoulder of the stag and stared at him earnestly, her wheat-blond hair freshly combed with ribbons, and her eyes like sapphires in the sun. He sighed. He can't win against her anymore, can he? He would never be like this again in his life. He was a man doomed.
He climbed into the horse, and as expected, the poor thing was bent over by his weight. Hopefully it will last a few miles, but he is not confident in it. At least they'll get out of here, and that's it.
"Lead the way, Miss Gabe."
She nodded, and Poppy sped away. The horse doesn't need to be commanded, just line up behind the big buck in the proper order.
The horse struggled underneath him, but it survived the first and second miles. While it wasn't known exactly when the poor creature would break a leg or fall to its death, Androx knew they had to act quickly. So far so good.
The bucks chose some impossible paths, turns, tangles, and paths, and Angelus wasn't sure if he could throw the stone over, but somehow, they walked over unscathed and never slowed down. The longer it lasted, the more incredible it became, as if he had seen something that humans could not see. A man known only to gods and beasts.
After another mile, the horse fell under his feet. The car collapsed halfway up a small pebble stream, nearly throwing him on the icy gravel instead of throwing him into the water. Andlox had been listening and observing any movement from all directions with undivided attention, which was completely unexpected by him. He didn't break free in time, it caught his calf, but luckily, he couldn't pull it out again. It could be worse. Been there, been there several times.
He stood up, gritted his teeth, and tried to dust off the dirt as he endured the burning pain in his ribs. It's just smearing.
Gabi had already turned and walked back. She jumped off Poppy and rushed at the fallen horse, foaming at the mouth and dying. She knelt down, stroked its face and neck, and whispered, "I know what I want you to do." Thank you very, very much. I will never forget you. You can rest now. β
The stallion exhaled and died. Gabby patted it again, then stood up, her face flushed, tears glistening in her eyes, and she refused to blink. She looked Androcles in the eye and said boldly, "Put the flowers and mom together, and you take his horse away." Then we rode horses. β
Before he could do as I was told, she strode back to Poppy, who knelt down and let her into the car. This time she chose to ride standing with her arms crossed and her face facing forward. It's just that as soon as she turned around, she quickly wiped away her tears. He saw her shoulders trembling and sobbing for.
Seven years old. She was only seven years old. Androx was taken aback. He knew she was a cute little thing, strong, kind, and beautiful. But is it? Who would have thought of this?
However, there is no time to waste. It is better to take advantage of her sacrifice. Anchors lifted Flower and put him over Arguna, who had a pained, sympathetic look on her face. He kissed her hair.
He climbed on another horse with more hesitation than before, the one that Gabi named "Milkdrop". It carried Flower perfectly and never let the boy slide left and right. A
d
Okles really didn't want to kill this as well. Not now.
They rode horses and walked along the path that Poppy could not have walked. The next mile is a large expanse of open land with views of mountains and hills on all sides. He found at least a dozen corps, each with more than a hundred men on horseback. The path the stag had walked had turned a corner, and he wasn't sure what else was where, but he could guess that many of them were heading toward the battlefield. Several others, however, seem to be heading south, towards the mountain pass. It's troublesome.
Luckily, no one seemed to notice him, or even if they did, they didn't react and gave it to him while he was looking.
The Milk Horse had only run half a mile before stopping, right in the middle of a snowy field. This time, Anders was more prepared, jumping backwards before he fell.
The horse died before it could hit the ground. Gabi jumped down again and fell to his knees in thanks. But this time she didn't say anything, because the horse wouldn't hear it. It didn't breathe, its face sunk in the snow, the length of a hand. When she stood up to face him again, it was harder for her to stay calm than before, but she kept her composure. "You've got to get over here, Daddy. I'm sorry. β
"That's enough, my daughter. You did very well. That may have saved us. At least a thousand men rode behind us to block our way, and we got out before them. β
She nodded solemnly and turned back to Poppy. From her shoulders, she held her head high, but her legs hesitated, and he could almost feel her sadness and belief. In fact, maybe he really could. She can spread her emotions just as much as he can spread his homicidal intent. Maybe she missed.
"Aguna, I'm starting to feel like she's probably my favorite daughter," he said. He tried to disguise his sincerity with the joke, but his voice was still caught.
Aguna just gave him a sad smile, nodded, and said, I love her too.
Androcles tossed aside the bag containing the money, and with a spear in the other, threw the rest of the blanket to Galbi for her to hold while riding. They have almost nothing left. He should have looked for more food on the dead soldiers - all they had left was a small bag of barley. How long will it take for them to eat Poppy? Because for the first time since meeting this terrible beast, Andrx didn't want to do it.
Poppy began to walk, and Ash followed. The rest lined up and set off, marching through the snow, which in some places was a foot deep. Why it didn't melt here, he didn't know, just to make things difficult for him. It knew he was coming.
They made their way through the rest of the field, another half mile through the tiresome snow, and straight into the jumble of bushes, ayahuascs, and clumps of trees in the distance. Poppy continued to lead them down a path that only he could see, and even on foot, Androx didn't know how he did it. For the first time in his life, he doubted that animals could do magic. Or worse, if Bobby is a wolf sca
That kind of elf, but the appearance is different. The thought made the blood on his face disappear.
The process was unpleasant, mainly because Andlocks regretted it as soon as he took a deep breath, carrying that much money was hard work, but the process was worth it. After a while, they came to a smaller clearing, where he could clearly see the mountain pass three or four miles away. Just as he had suspected before, a group of people were gathering there to line up for his arrival. A
d
Okles couldn't see the king or any of his demons, but there was no doubt that he would appear. If he hadn't arrived yet, he might already be on his way.
"Wait, wait," he said. He stopped to catch his breath, and the others slowed down and walked over. He found an uneven stone to sit on and said, "I need to think about how we can get through them." See them gathered where we're going? Give me a few minutes. β
To make it as clear as possible that it was time to rest, Anchors stood up, laid the flower down, and laid him on his back on a patch of dry yellow grass, allowing Agunn to relax and then sit down to think about something.
Agunn walked over and began to straighten Gabi's hair again, tie the bow again, and giggle at her, and although she sounded angry, it meant the opposite. Poor Gabi received this treatment, and at first she was stiff, but soon relaxed, as Aguna brushed away all the stress and worries of the girl with her fingers. Aguna is unleashing some of her power, her maternal love, and Gabi is responding in the same way; Their souls mingle and speak in a language that only witches like themselves can understand.
Maybe rushing up from the mountainside instead of the pass would buy them more time, but not much. It is impossible to hide. The king had already dug them out once this morning, and there was no doubt that he could dig again. Maybe there already is.
But when it comes to passing, even if he can get all the balls in, it doesn't look much better. Now that Androcles knew that some of them were protected by magic, perhaps hundreds or thousands, it would be difficult for him to win without his own army. If he had a few hundred elite soldiers with spears and shields, it would be possible. Maybe. But there are still doubts.
As the minutes ticked by, Anchors felt his brow tighten as the questions became more and more puzzling. How far will the king chase him? Let's say he can escape. He wanted to know how far he was from glory. He hadn't gone far enough east or west to go south and he wouldn't be able to get home, but how far south he could hardly guess. Will the king chase him all the way to the border, or will there be other tribes or kingdoms in between?
Somehow, Flower began to cry. The boy finally woke up. He let out deep, mournful sobs, his whole body trembled, and it sounded very uncomfortable, especially today.
Agunn was the first to respond. She said, "What's the matter, flower, my dear?"
"I had a nightmare!" He blurted out, his eyes still closed. Tears streamed down his face. "I dreamed that I felt Pepper lying next to me, and it was so real, but he wasn't!"
"Yes, I am." Pepper said. He sat next to Flor and held his hand. One moment the air was empty, the next he filled it.
Flower gasped and choked. He opened his eyes. He looked at Pepper, then at his hand, and pinched it to make sure it was real. "Chili! He screamed and jumped on top of his brother, knocking him down. Then they cried and clung to each other, and they were all about to be bruised.
Wolf sca
Here, too, hovering above them, it looks like he's trying to find the right way to join them.
Anchors and Agunn watched in amazement as it sank into the water. Gabby ran the fastest, and she screamed herself and jumped off Bobby. She was speechless, but as soon as she reached within reach, the boys pulled her in. The three of them cried together, so hot and crazy that their hearts were overflowing.
"What a little bastard that kid!" Aguna exclaimed, wiping away the tears that welled up in her eyes.
Deanna walked in and gently pulled them apart. "Pepper, watch your back. Flower, you have to let him go, he's hurt. Gabi, you too. Kids, get up. Arise, dear children. β
Androx didn't see her approaching; She must have slipped in with Pepper and hid a few paces away. Her dark brown hair was now longer, about half a finger long. She was still wearing only a plain pair of pants with a rag tied to her chest, but her demeanor had changed. Her demeanor was different. She looked a little shy and nervous, but more gentle. More maturity, less bravado.
He wasn't excited to see her, she knew it. Still trying to get the kids to undress and sit up, she gave Andlocks an apologetic smile and said, "He made me do that." He said he wanted to surprise you. β
"Chili! Agunn shouted. This caught their attention. "Come and give me a hug, you little bastard on the goat's ass"
Pepper laughed tearfully and let Deanna pull him up. He rushed over and jumped on top of Agn, hugging his arms and legs tightly. She almost fell, but then she spun around again, holding him and crying and laughing. "Mom! He said. "Mom." He couldn't say anything, and he didn't need to say anything.
After a few moments, Arguern's hand reached into the long, torn slit at the back of his shirt, and she gasped. "Mary: Mom, what is this?" What's wrong with your back?" She turned him around and pulled back the frills of the fabric, revealing a long seam that slipped from shoulder to shoulder, covered in a pale, sticky ointment. "Chili!"
Andlos started to get upset and didn't know when it would be his turn, but that injury changed everything. "Deanna, what's wrong with him?" He asked, trying to calm his growing rage. It's useless here either. He wanted to hug his dear son, not kill someone. However.
Pepper said, "No, I want to tell him!" The boy needed a moment to calm himself, everyone waited in silence, and he got a moment of composure. He wiped away tears with both forearms and nervously flicked his black tail behind him until the flowers came over and wrapped their tails together.

Without wanting to keep this moment, he said, "Hello, Ga
biγ I brought Pepper back. Gabby grabbed him from the air, kissed him, and pressed him tightly to his chest.
Pepper said, "Dad, I'll do it...... I'm sorry, I really miss you. Then the tears flowed again, and he was speechless. A

Okles wiped the tears from his face with both hands, then took his hand and looked at him, how beautiful he was. Flower rested his head on his brother's shoulder to comfort him.
"What's wrong with your arm?" The boy reluctantly said.
"You speak first."
Pepper took a deep breath and blinked to suck up the excess water, her yellow eyes sparkling. "This was cut when I was fighting the demon alone. I'll kill him with this," he said, pulling out a black spike more than a foot long. Devil's horns.
Andlos almost erupted in a burst of rage, but stopped it in time. "They locked you up and attacked you?" Pepper, my son, I swear to my father's grave that I'll kill the last one-"
"No, wait!" Pepper interrupts. "The situation is more complicated. Wolf SCA
They didn't lock me up after letting me out. They gave me food and I had a place to sleep. They don't know what to do with me, because I told them about you and said you would be angry when you came to me. I've had fights with Komar, he's a scout, but he's a bit crazy and ...... shadows."
The boy's thoughts were tangled, and he stopped.
Deanna came to his rescue. "A few days ago, the King of the Outlands summoned a horde of evil spirits to attack the Nightmen. This caused some of them to lose their minds, and one of them attacked Pepper. Pepper fought bravely and saved herself. I didn't manage to protect him and I really regret it. I'm sorry. β
Andlos didn't say anything, she looked at the ground and continued: "They weren't good for him. He had no friends among them, only a few silent enemies. But he's finally got his revenge, isn't he, Pepper?"
"I killed nine of them with a single kick." Pepper said solemnly. "They had a circle to block out the shadows, but then I got mad at them and I just kicked it. It broke the magic, so the ghosts came in and attacked them, and nine people died. Then Patos came and asked me if I was enough, and I said enough, and we evened out. After that, they started treating me normally, and I finally met all the other kids. And then the wolf sca
Brought me here. Deanna had to carry me on her back because she was running better than ...... Faster than anything, I think. It's too fast. β
Deanna said, "You've missed the giant."
Pepper grinned. His eyes sparkled. "Dad, you won't believe it!" There was a giant, it was so big, its toes were bigger than Deanna, she wrestled with it and drove it away. I saw it - she had to climb up and down him like a squirrel in a tree, but she kept hitting his feet, and eventually he got seriously injured and left. He's here to kill the Nightmen, right where I am. She saved everyone, and she saved me. β
"I told you it was a footprint!" Gabi shouted.
Andrakes took a moment to accept. In the beginning, the gears in his head just didn't turn. His mouth was dry.
Well, it's not here right now, so don't worry. "So you killed a demon to avenge the mistreatment of his tribe?" Is that so?"
"Yes, Dad. Sorted. There are many more reasons, but ......"
"My son, Pepper the Demon Hunter."
"I just want you to be proud of me," Pepper said, and then, like a bucket with a tip, tears flowed out. A

Okles pulled the boy over and hugged him, careful not to let his wounds hurt. Freckles wets his face and beard with his own tears, while Pepper covers his tears with his shirt.
"My child," said Andlos after a while, "you are nine years old. You don't need to earn my pride. Then, he swallowed, making sure his voice remained steady, before adding, "But you did."
This only made things worse, and soon everyone started crying again, except for Deanna, who tried not to make herself look like she was bothering anyone. After a while, Aguna insisted that it was her turn to hug again, and then Pepper was like a girl playing the flute, being conveyed emotion.
Overall, it's still a bad day, and they're probably all going to die. But Andrakes was glad it had happened beforehand. Very, very happy.
When everything calmed down, Deanna said, "I think it's time to take you to meet the Nightmen." They have something to want with you, an incomparable warrior, and Agura, a priestess of Passos. Then, I also have something to say. Ask. β
"Where are they?" He asked.
"To the south, through the canyon."
"There's an army in the way."
"That's Pepper." Deanna pointed.
