103 - Sumeru and Sumeru
It's normal for Cyno to lose, and Rama doesn't even regard Cyno as an enemy at all.
This is indeed a good person.
Staring at the pressure of the six sages, he forcibly performed his duties as a discipline officer.
Cyno doesn't care about why a person does what they do, he only cares about what a person does, and wrong research leads to wrong answers.
Such an answer would not only destroy researchers, but even more innocent people.
It's like the Red King's quest for some kind of power.
He succeeded in reaching out to forces beyond the world, at the expense of the desert people, himself, and the wounded Great Tree King and the Grass Dragon Apep.
Everyone has the right to pursue their dreams, but when their dreams interfere with everyone else's, Cyno strikes at these scholars.
In the performance of his duties, it was not because the discipline of the Discipline Officer required him to do so, but because more innocent people would not be killed.
With this creed, Cyno became the blade of discipline for scholars in the hands of the Six Sages.
"With the background of the desert people, he can achieve this position, which is already the ultimate manifestation of ability."
"Even though he didn't give Shahai anything in return, I still recognize his value."
However, Cyno probably doesn't need anyone else to recognize him.
"This is a good-willed man who abides by his own rules, and who obeys morals and laws." Rama praised the other party's performance outside of specifications, "So he's really vulnerable." β
"Good people fight bad people, what is needed is several times the talent and ability, otherwise there is really no way to win."
"How can a hero who is always active within the rules play against a bad guy like me who 'don't bring them to justice, I just want them to die'?"
Respect for these strong-willed and faithful people.
Then use their faith and the rules they abide by to crush them fiercely.
Rama always did that.
He has his own set of rules, but usually, the enemy can't find him, let alone hit him hard.
"Yes, good people will lose, in fact, it is normal."
The god looked at Rama meaningfully.
"Should I learn from you? Learn the Fatui and your patterns of behavior? β
"You also said that although Cyno is a good man, he will only fail."
"Obviously, before I bless the people of Sumeru, I should make a choice about which path is best for them. β
"Is it a benevolent god or a selfish god, which kind of god does Sumeru need more?"
"Broken jar?" Rama rubbed the young god's hair, "If you ask me what kind of god the Sumeru people need, then I can only answer kindness." β
"One kindness alone is the best answer for all mortals."
"In the history of Mondstadt, the demon god Dieklapian, known as the Lone King of the Tower and the Dragon Scroll, once formed a wall with strong winds to shield him from the cold of the outside world."
"However, the early Mondstadts' desire to explore the world beyond the walls was an early quest for freedom, and then Decarapian failed, and they welcomed a new wind god, Barbatos."
Barbatos changed the terrain with his divine powers, and what he said he could do, Decarapian should be able to do.
In many descriptions, the Lone King of the Tower has actually completely occupied the seat of the Wind God.
With only Him and the Wolf King left in the land of Mondstadt, and the Wolf King has failed, Decarapian should be the true Wind God of Mondstadt.
And then He lost.
"It seems that the reason for his failure has something to do with human expectations." Nahida pondered, "After all, you brought up His story at this time, and it can only be used to support your story. β
Rama didn't refute, and said with a smile on his face, "There's another story that happened in Liyue. β
"During the Daedric War, there was a Salt Demon God in the land of Liyue."
"He is a relatively weak god who was gradually defeated in the Demon God War, and finally lost everything he had."
"And at the last moment, his followers chose to rebel because they were disgusted with the weakness of the gods and the fact that the gods could only carry them away."
"They killed the Demon God of Salt, and the good Demon God gave up his resistance, and some of them died in the backlash caused by the death of the gods, while a few left alive and joined what is now Liyue, giving their faith to Morax."
He removed his hand, his face calming back, "The story is over. β
"So people need a god who is kind to them, and if you become a god, if they make a mistake, they don't even need to make a mistake, they are at risk of being destroyed at any time."
"However, there is a clear gap between gods and people, and if you want to destroy them, they will never be able to resist, they can only kneel down and expect your mercy, or expect another god to stand up and stop you."
"Such a future is terrifying to all, and of course they need a benevolent and weak god."
Nahida sighed, "That's a kind of persuasion." β
The thought of dispelling a person is persuasion.
Instilling one's own truth in another person is also a form of persuasion.
It seems that Rama is the second kind.
"For people, in the end, the pattern of the Seven Rulers of the Mortal Universe will always guarantee relative peace."
Rama was noncommittal, "In this case, a weak god is much better than a tough and indifferent god." β
Aside from Tartaglia's wave of operations to awaken Othello, the rest of the story is relatively harmless.
In fact, the biggest impact on ordinary people is probably the Dvalin attack in Mondstadt.
The dragon had indeed circled Mondstadt several times, and the leyline disorder was leading the monsters to riot, and it was estimated that Dvalin was not willing to do it, otherwise Mondstadt would have rebuilt it.
This was followed by the attack of Osser.
As for the Eye Hunting Order and the Lockdown Decree set off by the General, and the god-making project of the Sumeru Sage, these are far from making ordinary people unable to live at all.
Teyvat's most brutal war was probably the Daedric War, a time when even the Daedric could not necessarily guarantee his own life, let alone mortals.
Secondly, it was thrown to Kanria for the battle of destroying the country, but this battle also had nothing to do with the ordinary people of the Seven Kingdoms, and it was the gods themselves who took action.
And now, the relative peace of the Seven Kingdoms of the world has made many people feel in no mood to fight.
When there is no threat from an external enemy, the choice is almost self-evident.
"But if it's for the country of Sumeru, you can learn a little from me or the Fatui, but not too much."
the seriousness of Rama; "You see that the two of us don't talk much, this kind of behavior can only be exchanged for short-term benefits."
"Words still have to be counted, and this involves the issue of prestige."
"There are more other small problems, which is not a good boss."
Nahida tilted her head and asked, "But you manage the desert very well. β
"They're just afraid of me." Rama was clear, "Actually, I have not been involved in the work of governing and accepting my destiny at all, and the elders have decided who can ascend to the throne, and he can take the throne. β
"I tell everybody that the decision is up to me, but I never actually look at the list they report."
"When they report it, I dare to agree, anyway, if something goes wrong, I will even deal with it with someone and the recommender."
This is not domination at all.
Rama didn't care about the strength of the sand sea, so he didn't hesitate at all when he used the sword.
This is not the self-confidence of monopoly, but the complete indifference to domination.
Rama only needs resources, and he doesn't care about the crowd or the rumors of the people, and it just so happens that he still has the ability to do so.
But this is by no means the rule of the norm.
Nahida sighed softly.
"I'm qualified to do this kind of thing."
Normal rule requires taking into account the will of the people, and Rama never cared about that.
"You have the ability to communicate well with Cyno, but you just told him that I can deprive you of your power and change the law, and I must be right."
Right and wrong are judged by people.
Rama insisted that he was not wrong, and that his words and deeds were reckless to the extent that "you say I broke that law, I just change it."
Not to mention outsiders, even when Nahida himself sat in again, he thought that Rama was not reasonable, he was just unreasonable.
But in fact, he was right.
In doing so, he apparently did not take the rule to heart.
"I flipped through a few ancient books when I was a child," Rama said, holding his hands down with a look of remembrance, "the wind god blew away the snow and ice and flattened the mountains, in exchange for the prosperity of the land of Mondstadt today." β
"The god of rock dropped a rock spear on the sea and forcibly created an island in the middle of the vast ocean."
"The god of thunder slashed the divine punishment of the sword called Phaseless in the castle tower, and the sword marks continued from Narujin Island to Kaigi Island."
He lowered his eyes and looked at Nahida.
"I'm puzzled, they have such great power, why do they care about the life and death of ordinary people?"
"Then I put the question aside, and I thought that it would be much better for the gods to sympathize with humans than for them to treat humans like pigs and dogs, and since the results were good, and the problem was beyond my reach, it was better to act as if it hadn't happened."
"Then something suddenly occurred to me."
Nahida had guessed the answer, but He didn't interrupt Rama.
Rama whispered softly, as if to tell a dream word: "If I have the power of a demon god, even if it is a little weaker, why should I care what they are thinking? β
He smiled: "They have dreams, and they have things that they want to do desperately, which sounds really exciting, and it really makes people want to join them." β
"And then?" His face suddenly calmed down, and he asked in a low voice.
"With blood, with dreams, then what?"
"And did the desert folks succeed in their rebellion?"
"So behold, my great god." Rama picked up the god and pushed him to the heights.
Nahida floats in mid-air, overlooking the world outside the Pure Shan Palace.
"It's not dreams or blood that can change everything, it's the chips you have."
"Power, wealthΒ·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· Many, much more. β
"And on this continent, there is only one of the most expensive chips."
"That's power."
Nahida sighed, "I can't do it. β
"Yes, so it's enough for you to choose kindness."
Rama was not surprised by this answer.
"This is the temple of wisdom."
With the soft whispers of the gods, starting from the Pure Zen Palace, the realm called Maya Temple covered the entire city of Sumeru.
When the people of Sumeru City look up, they can see the temple in the sky that symbolizes divine power.
"Your Majesty, is this just talking to such a god?"
The excited desert folks were like being poured a basin of cold water on their heads.
Rama did many foreshadowings, describing the greatness and irresistibility of the gods, and then passing this answer to the upper echelons of the sand sea through Babel.
They reached a consensus, and the idea continued to pass downwards.
So everyone knew that winning the Akademiya was only the most trivial part of the seizure of dominance.
And the more troublesome part is how to get the approval of the gods.
They knew, but they didn't have much of a sense of it.
The god of grass is a god who lives only in legends, and all the reverence for him, as Nahida said, comes entirely from the previous generation of the god of grass, the Great Compassion Tree King.
Such a deterrent to the gods is not enough.
And now that they had witnessed the gods' abilities, they suddenly realized that it was really more difficult than they expected to get the gods' approval.
Two voices faintly came from the sky, one humble but vague, almost completely inaudible.
The other voice was too gentle to even hear much majesty.
"It turns out that when I inherited the power of the Great Mercy Tree King, so many things happened in Sumeru."
This is the voice of the gods.
He paused for a moment, as if listening to the other's words.
"Yes, the Tree King did promise the Red King that he would accept the people of the Sand Sea."
"The sand sea is also the territory of Sumeru, and the desert people are also the people of Sumeru."
"It's a bit too much for the six sages of the Akademiya to do this."
The desert folks relaxed a little.
The god of grass recognized the identity of the desert people and belittled the actions of the six sages.
That's enough to show His attitude.
The god paused for a moment, as if to think about something.
"If this is the case, the people of the desert, who are also the people of Sumeru, have suffered many unwarranted disasters, and the six sages who rule the Akademiya are all rainforest people, so it is indeed impossible to give a relatively fair judgment."
"But you have awakened, and we all believe that when Sumeru returns to the rule of the god of grass, we will all have a fair and abundant life."
This is Rama's voice.
Instead of mentioning his own power, he describes the future of divine rule.
Such a compromise has made many desert dwellers lose their expressions.
Although none of them believed that the gods would really let Rama be an ordinary Sumeru, Rama's attitude was a little more respectful, and his attitude was completely different from that of weekdays.
For Rama to behave like this, it was obviously the force of the gods that convinced him.
