59------ the final test
As he approached the guards at the gatekeeper at the Edge of Tomorrow, he could see a lot of activity in the city behind them. Both the player and the Elions are hanging out, letting out a soft conversation.
"Hey, outsider!" One of the guards shouted.
I paused, a feeling of déjà vu. It was almost like the first time he had approached the Advent Gate. The thought made him smile faintly.
He's come a long way since then. His smile turned sad.
If only Uncle Finn could see it.
His heart jumped, and he quickly turned his attention to the guards, focusing on them in order to take his thoughts away from his uncle. All but the last female guard was a huge male. But he must be a bodybuilder who can easily lift "Sef" with one hand. He probably has more muscles on his little finger than he does all over his body. The burly guy yelling at him was slightly less intimidating than the woman, even if Sev had to turn his head to look at the guy's face.
"Hey." He greeted hesitantly.
The guard looked down at him, his silver winged helmet gleaming. Apparently, his name was Guard Gary. "I haven't seen you before. Do you want to come in? ”
"Yes, please." Sev tried to make himself sound confident, and he did. But these guys are huge! They may have devoured a whole boar for breakfast, then a whole cow for lunch, and then drank the blood of the invaders for dinner.
"Hmm." The guard looked him up and down, then stepped aside, closing a narrow distance. "Well, you can get over. You have to go straight to the registrar, who is in front. Don't cause any trouble. The city is neutral and we do not tolerate troublemakers. ”
"All right," Sev said reluctantly. He cautiously squeezed into the narrow space that the guards had vacated for him, and when his shoulder brushed against the glittering gloves of the guard on his left, but Seif hastened his pace as soon as he passed them, eager to put some distance between them.
The main road was in front of him, wide and passionate. The soft sound of his boots drew his attention to the ground beneath his feet. The path is paved with smooth little stones, each with a different shade of blue, which are tightly put together like a complex puzzle. The design almost reminded him of the Yarn Courtyard, except that the stones here were much smaller. And blue.
He lifted his eyes, following the path that stretched ahead of him in the blue trail. When exposed to sunlight, it glows pale, and in the shadows it darkens and turns steely blue.
People walk around as if on gravel roads, completely oblivious to the splendor beneath their feet. Sev looked at them for a moment, rubbing his neck. Maybe they're used to it. But he didn't think he would get used to it. He felt like his boots were staining it.
Everyone looks impressive, dressed in majestic armor or flowing robes, ranging from colorful outfits to simple and practical leather garments. Old but well-maintained buildings and perfectly shaped trees, and even tangled buildings with flowering vines - everything looks so majestic and clean.
When he finally saw a huge marble plaque with the words "Registration Office" engraved on it, he breathed a sigh of relief and immediately walked straight there.
Behind the marble signage is a single-story building built with the same light-colored marble as the sign. Tall marble columns support the heavy, ornate roof with artistic carvings around the edges. It is a strange building, reminiscent of ancient Greek architecture. There are no walls. There is only one roof supported by marble columns.
He slowly approached, glancing at the Elion guards standing around the corner. Some even stood inside the building, with their backs to the pillars, so they could monitor the center of the room, where a huge table carved out of a single piece of marble was placed. Behind the table there was a huge chair where a little girl sit.
The huge table dwarfs the girl. Her head barely poked out of the edges. This isn't a registrar, is it? Well...... Why not? This game opened his eyes to even stranger things. Thotherence made a clicking sound as he walked through the two pillars towards his desk.
The little girl looked up and looked at him with big green eyes. She has a thumb in her mouth and a doll almost her size in her other hand. She pulled her thumb out of her mouth and could just say "Hello! ”
"Hello." Sef looked at her with some confusion. She's definitely only five years old.
The thumb is extended again. "I'm Daddy." Yes, he could see it. She is also a Aryon.
"I'm Seif," he told her.
She giggled with her thumb in her mouth. "'Goodbye!
He grimaced. Are these true? It sounds like a bunch of gibberish to him. "Okay?"
The little girl's dad thought it was funny. She giggled, her eyes wide closed, and she giggled loudly. Sef watched her do so, feeling a little insulted. But how can it be so funny? What did he do?
The children. They could also be aliens from another planet.
When she finally calmed down, Sev hesitantly asked, "Are you a registrar?" ”
The name didn't come to his mind, but he had to be sure. She sat in the registrar's office.
The little girl looked at him. Then she giggled with her thumb in her mouth. “Silwy! I'm only 5 years old! ”
Sylvie? Sai ran a hand over his smooth chin, trying to control his anger. He pushed it back. It doesn't help to get angry now.
"Here it is! She wants you. Dad held up her doll hand with two hands. It looks like it's woven out of roving, with black buttons on its eyes and red stitches on its mouth. The hair was brown, messy strips of leather, twisted and braided into thick ropes that hung softly over the top of the head. A pale pink dress is sewn onto the doll.
The "uh......" doll looks creepy, and Sev doesn't even have zero desire to touch it.
But Dad insisted on pushing the doll towards him. Her lips pursed and her little face began to darken. "She wants you!"
A little girl turns into a behemoth illusion, roaring and stomping through the city in anger, the idea comes to Sef's mind. Knowing about this game, there is a good chance that this will happen.
He cautiously reached out and took the doll as if it were spun from fine glass. He held it in front of him with both hands in an awkward position.
The storm on Daddy's face disappeared immediately, and she smiled at him with all the pride of a child.
Sai tries to return the doll. "Actually, I think she wants you."
"Sylvie! She didn't! ”
Sev asked desperately, "Are you sure?" ”
"Yes!" Dad nodded vigorously, grabbed the edge of the table with his chubby little hands, and stood up. She stood in her chair, her head not even off the back, and climbed onto the table, her little knees hitting the hard marble of the huge table.
What is this girl doing? What if she falls? This table is huge. If she slips and falls off the edge, she will really get hurt.
"Hey," he reached out to her, only to find that he still had the doll in his hand. He can't be like that. So he started putting the doll on the table, and when he tried to give it back to her, Dad looked angry.
He hesitated. What should he do in this situation? Holding the doll to make her fall off the table? Or put the doll down at the risk of her being angry with him? Well, if she had focused on getting mad at him, maybe she wouldn't have crawled like a monkey.
He carefully lowered the doll and gently placed it on the table. He kept watching to see if the girl had any reaction.
Baba was stunned. She knelt on the edge of the table with her hands and knees. Her head tilted toward him. "Why?"
Oh no. My heart sank. I made a terrible mistake.
"She's tired?" He blurted out the first thing that came to his mind.
Baba blinked. Then she nodded. "Okay. Well, it's nap time. Come on," she patted the surface of the table.
Now what's going on?
"Come on," Dad's voice raised in pitch and volume. She slapped the table, impatience written all over her face. "It's nap time, it's time for us to go to bed!"
As if to demonstrate, she crawled to her place. The doll is lying on the table. There, she lay on the ground, her feet raised, and kicked freely in the air above her head. She slapped the table, dangerously close to the edge. "You need to lie down and sleep."
Well, that makes sense. It's hard to fall asleep sitting or standing. But why put it on the table?! And he's not tired! He can't sleep right now, he needs to talk to the registrar!
Sev took a deep breath, trying to keep his emotions under control. Then he looked at the narrow space left between Daddy's doll and the edge of the table. That's where she instructed him where he should lie down. "I don't fit there," he tried to explain. "How so?" Baba asked. She pursed her lips and swung her legs back and forth.
"There isn't enough space."
"Why?"
Sef twitched. "Because there is no tolerance."
"Hmm," she mumbled. Then she quickly moved towards the center of the table, moving about five inches in total. She pulled the doll a little closer. "Now there's it!"
"Well, no," Sey wanted to cry. "Nope."
Her face was gloomy again. "Yes!"
"No, there isn't." "Right here!"
"Nope."
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
Someone cleared their throats.
Both Baba and Severance looked up and found the source. Next to them stood a tall, imposing man, with his hands behind his back, looking down at them, his eyebrows elegantly curled. He is a very handsome man, his facial features are almost too beautiful to be male, but his strong chin is enough to tilt the whole picture into the realm of men. The hair was long, and the rest of it hung down on his shoulders like a smooth black waterfall. He wore a simple and elegant white robe, which was embellished with gold and silver, adding to the imperial atmosphere.
He stared blankly at the man, and he realized that this man was the person he was looking for. The name that appeared above his head was none other than Registrar Ashe.
"Daddy," the man said, in an extremely smooth baritone. "What are you doing?"
In the blink of an eye, Baba was sitting cross-legged on her desk, a big smile on her face. "Daddy! I'm taking a nap! ”
"On my desk?"
"Yes! He said it didn't matter, "Dad pointed one finger at Seif, and she grabbed her doll with the other."
Did she blame him for all this? He looked warily at Ash, the registrar, and saw their eyes met.
"You are?" The registrar asked.
"I'm Seif. I guess I'm here to register? ”
"Ahh With that, Ash walked over to his desk, took his daughter under his armpit, and picked her up from the desk. Still holding her, he walked over to the chair and sat down, putting her on his lap. Dad giggled and snuggled up to his father, her doll huddled between them.
"I'm Registrar Ash. I welcome you to the edge of tomorrow, and before you sign the register, you must prove your worth. ”
The registrar paused, and he asked, "Prove yourself?" ”
He thought that all he had to do was talk to someone and then he could go. But this is starting to sound like a more troublesome thing to do.
Ash absentmindedly stroked his daughter's head, pinning a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Yes," he said. "You have to pass the test. If you succeed, you will become a true citizen of Elliona. If you don't pass, you won't move forward. ”
Sev frowned. What does Ash mean is that there won't be any more quests until the Cypriot completes this quest? The tone of the man's voice seemed to be a very serious matter. Although Ash may be that kind of person, someone who always takes things very seriously.
"Well," said Sef,
Ash looked at him for a moment, then nodded solemnly. "I will send one of my men to escort you to the Undercity. There, you and a small group of outsiders must defeat Posettis lurking there. This is something you have to do on your own, and your clan can't help. ”
As soon as Ash's words fell, the system sounded softly.
Olite Complex Mission Complete: Talk to Registrar Ash.
Mission received: Defeat Poseidis in the Undercity
"Oh," Sef said blandly. It sounds like another dungeon.
"Sir Husky," Ash raised his voice slightly. In response, the boots made a heavy sound on the marble, and Seif saw a guard reach them through the pristine floor. This guard wears the same armor as the guards at the gates, and is as tall as the guards at the gates.
"Registrar," the guard slammed his fist into his chest, his gloves tapping against his breastplate. "Please escort this outsider to the Undercity."
"Of course." "Follow me."
Severance saw the cold grey eyes under the guard's helmet.
Sir Husky didn't say a word, and began to walk out of the building. Sef hurriedly followed. When he turned back, he saw Ash looking down at his daughter, his eyes gentle, as if she were the center of his world.
