Visit the Bell and Drum Tower
Come down to Yongning Gate, you can see the Bell and Drum Tower here, Zhao Cui said go over, you don't have to take the bus or subway, Ma Xiaoliang thinks about it!
Walking all the way, but not far, I saw an ancient tower on the side of the road, and a sign next to it: Tang Dynasty!
I can't help but feel that Xi'an is worthy of being the ancient capital, and every brick and tile is where the Han and Tang Dynasties are! Walking through the long street market, the two came to the bottom of the bell and drum tower!
The Bell and Drum Tower is in the center of Xi'an, there is a lot of traffic every day, people come and go, in the Ming Dynasty, there is neither a palace here, nor is it the location of the noble mansion, why will the royal standard bell and drum tower be built here?
Here's a little-known story: Zhu Yuanzhang established the Ming Dynasty and set the capital of Nanjing, and the city of Xi'an was no longer the seat of the imperial capital, but more of a defensive role as a military feudal town.
At that time, the ministers of the court believed that Xi'an's political and military status was very important, so the emperor suggested that the capital be moved.
In fact, Ming Taizu had already planned to move the capital to Guanzhong. As early as 1370, Hu Ziqi, the superintendent of the imperial history, had Chen Zuo, telling Zhu Yuanzhang that Xi'an had a better geographical advantage than Luoyang.
This suggestion was approved by Ming Taizu at that time. Although this suggestion was later shelved due to the difficulties of current affairs, this matter has always haunted Taizu's heart.
It didn't take long for Zhu Yuanzhang to send the crown prince Zhu Biao
"Inspect Guanzhong" and tell him,
"The mountains and rivers in the world, but Qin Zhong is dangerous, and he has been sealing his land to his brother (the second brother of the prince, Zhu Yuanzhang's second son, Zhu Yuanzhang's second son, Qin Wang Zhu Zhang), and it has been more than ten years. So, the crown prince Zhu Biao was ordered to come to Xi'an for a field trip.
The customs and natural features of Xi'an deeply attracted Zhu Biao. In October of the same year, Zhu Biao returned to Nanjing to return to Taizu, presented the "Map of Shaanxi" drawn by himself, and also introduced in detail the advantages of Xi'an in all aspects, and strongly recommended moving the capital to Xi'an.
The matter of moving the capital was affirmed by Zhu Yuanzhang, and the imperial court began to intensively publicize the matter of moving the capital, and the Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower also entered the design and construction stage.
Unexpectedly, the sky was unpredictable, and it didn't take long for the prince to fall ill, and he died of illness in the spring of the next year.
As a father who suffered the loss of a son in his later years, Emperor Taizu was so grieved that he quit the dynasty. What's even more distressing is that the crown prince Zhu Biao also wrote to Zhu Yuanzhang when he was dying
"Planning to build the capital of Xi'an". However, Xi'an became the sad place of Emperor Taizu, and the originally feasible plan of building the capital of Xi'an was forever shelved and put on the dusty annals of history.
The Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower, built according to the standards of royal architecture, has been completed. About the North Plaque of the Drum Tower
"Hearing in the sky" is very interesting, there is a legend that it was inscribed by Empress Wu Zetian herself. These four words are taken from the famous sentences of the Book of Songs
"The crane sings Jiugao, and the sound is heard in the sky", which Di Renjie came up with after Wu Zetian gave wine, so the ministers asked Wu Zetian to write it down
"Heard in the sky" four words. Wu Zetian, who was a little drunk at that time, was there
The word "Yu" was written a little less, and no one cared, and the plaque was then hung up. One day, the empress passed by the drum tower near the palace gate and looked up to see the plaque
The word "Yu" was a little less, so he asked the ministers around him what the reason was, and the ministers around him looked at each other, and no one dared to speak out.
So Wu Zetian ordered to take the pen and ink, dip it in ink, and shoot it on the plaque with a bow and arrow, just shooting to the missing position and making up for it
The word "Yu", the ministers cheered. Hearing someone else's explanation, Zhao Cui was full of interest, so it was, but unfortunately I just finished visiting the city wall, I don't want to spend money on the bell and drum tower, just take a look below, Ma Xiaoliang said okay, so the two took a group photo, Ma Xiaoliang took a picture of Zhao Cui again, and then the two continued to walk around and came to Muslim Street!
