Chapter 30. Edit the years
If for an athlete, the coach is a presence that needs to look up, then for people who like words, editing is a presence that needs to look up!
Who doesn't like to turn words written on manuscript paper into lead type?
I'm sure everyone who writes an article has more or less had an editorial dream.
This dream usually appears after he has written a few works that he is satisfied with.
I don't know what other modest and cautious writers look like, but my own self-confidence in writing now seems to be divided into these stages.
The first stage is blind confidence. This stage started very early, and began after the lightning rod-like praise on Mr. Peng's head. The expression is that at that time, I really thought that I was a "poet fairy", and what I wrote was good. Fortunately, this stage is very short, knowing that there are still things written by others, it is not bad, I admit that there should be some poems, demons, poets and ghosts who have also been reincarnated in this era, so I have entered the second stage, and I named it the stage of being slightly rational and confident. Admit that you are strong, and pinch your nose to admit that others are strong. Later, I slowly watched more works, and then I realized that in the face of the pyramids of my predecessors, even Lu Yao felt like a child piling up a few small mounds on the sand by the river, and I really didn't know where my confidence came from.
From the self-confidence of the fan to the lack of self-confidence at all, I don't believe how I could have the courage to be confident back then.
This state of self-confidence has lasted for at least 20 years.
With the accumulation of more than 20 years of insisting on reading after that chance encounter, the essay won the first prize in recent years, and the poems were also selected into the Daqing Literature Museum, and the self-confidence was slowly regained. In particular, this memoir was able to persevere, and finally completely regained self-confidence, and this self-confidence, I think it is more appropriate to call it self-identity self-confidence, which comes from the recognition and acceptance of oneself, that is, the belief that oneself is a unique and valuable individual.
Don't compare with others.
Now I can naturally sit here objectively and summarize my self-confidence, but I still have to take the detours that I should have taken, and I still have to hit the south wall.
Going back to my dream of editing, I've done a little bit more than other authors, reaching five.
That's not a bit of a rigor.
Strictly speaking, my years as an editor should be divided into 4.5 paragraphs.
The first paragraph is naturally the "Willow Shore Collection", the journal of the Liu'an Literary Society, which was written in high school.
Definitely a newborn calf is not afraid of tigers, and I am less than 18 years old when I am confident in the reincarnation of "poetry immortals", and I met with my friends to found Liu'an Literature Society.
I've always liked the surprise of "looking back at the twilight, but the person is in the dim light"! Maybe it's Scorpio's innate romance.
Therefore, I yearn for the kind of willow shore flowers after the mountains and rivers are restored, just like reading books, not just happy.
Fun in Tao, fun in doubt!
So when I founded the Literary Society, I took "Willow Shore" as the name of the company.
If you have a literary club, you naturally have to write something, or a literary club that was established because you wrote something, and it is a lawsuit between chicken and egg.
The literati have been inferior since ancient times, and this really doesn't depend on age.
In the second year of high school, we only had one liberal arts class, and there were not many people in this class (I had counted the first version of the address book for the class, and at that time, in the contact information column after the person's name, most of it was a thing called a pager, and there were a total of 61 people who transferred in and out at that time, and I ranked 58 in the midterm exam in the second semester of my junior year of high school), but it was divided into three literary clubs.
This one of mine is "Willow Bank", another is "Gu Yu", and the other is called "Aoshi".
Each in its own publication.
Go your own way.
Unlike their normal publications, our decision was to publish one issue of each person's own, so that the cycle would be 9 issues.
There were 9 people in the "Liu'an" Literary Club that year, and there were 4 boys.
Back then, I also used the pen names of these 9 people to write a poem of seven laws.
The Seven Laws
Scenery on the willow shore
It has been traveled around the sea with two sails, and the peach paradise is a light boat.
Although the heart of the estuary is more than smooth, I am glad to see that the waves have not been harvested.
There are often idle clouds with the moon, and there are no wild cranes to accompany the forest.
The sunset has gone to the twilight of the stars, and the fishing boat is chasing the water.
May 19, 1987
I learned this from my father, and I remember that he wrote this kind of marriage to many of his friends' married children, including mine.
The red plum branches make the countryside more beautiful
Huanyu double flying wings, good articles in the same book
At that time, the three literary clubs of Liu'an, Guyu and Aoshi only existed for a little more than a year, and the students went their separate ways, and many of them had not seen each other for more than 30 years.
I didn't have any experience in running a publication for the first time, and I had just learned to draw at that time, so now I seem to be miserable.
But there is no way, people come step by step like this, and you can't eat less than one of the first six cakes.
Later, I still didn't post the issue I wrote, so I found a copy of the 5th issue.
We are all this kind of eight-page paper issue.
Basically, it's an illustration drawn with a colored pen, and then a pen is used for the text.
After finishing an issue, find a place to make a copy and make your own color version.
The other two literary societies were first engraved on wax paper and then mimeographed.
I miss the scenery on the shore!
The second stage is the "Oily Youth" supported by himself during the period of the Oilfield Chemical General Plant.
I once said that the most I paid during my work was during the Youth League Committee of the Oilfield Chemical General Plant.
I did the work of more than 10 people by myself.
Youth League officer (Youth Civilization No. 1 at the central level of the Youth League), driver (about 100 kilometers per day on average), editor, review, typing, proofreading, typesetting, cover design, illustration, printing, binding, plus column writing, etc. (getting up early and greedy late to ensure a monthly issue of "Oiled Youth").
Unlike the handwritten "Willow Shore Collection", in 1997 I began to use WPS97 to arrange graphics and texts.
The 36 pages in each issue are basically carefully designed by me page by page.
Initially, I just used WPS to print my documents.
It is not a fraction of the difficulty of going from manuscript to publication.
Back then, it was almost impossible to find a way to use WPS to design illustrated articles. You have to figure everything out by yourself, and design it while you learn.
From just normal horizontal rows to adding vertical rows as needed.
From only changing the font size after typing, and slightly bolding the title, to striving to carefully design each masthead and title with hollow, three-dimensional, surrounding, bolding, and color-changing on each page.
You know, it was 1997, and the computer had just changed from DOS command to windows with windows open.
At that time, there were no pictures available, so they had to be cut and pasted from newspapers and magazines.
When you use it, you can't use it directly, and every illustration that you might use has to be scanned with a scanner for a minute or two before it becomes an electronic version.
I had a job during the day, but I could only work at night, and during that time I hardly went to bed before one or two o'clock at night.
When the manuscript is not enough, I have to make up to 36 pages by myself, sometimes writing some essays under a pen name, sometimes writing some art appreciation and the like.
Unlike Lu Yao, who can start at noon in the morning, I still have to get up early to pick up people to work.
So my mornings really began in the morning.
Now that I look through these publications that have been preserved, many familiar people are long gone, and many more are no longer young.
The third stage is the journal "Retrospective" that was decided to start editing in 2016.
I explained this experience in detail in the article "Tracing Up, Mo Ruo Tracing from It" written on May 1, 2018.
In order to change the laziness of not mentioning the pen for a long time, meet some like-minded people and create a literary club.
……
It is precisely because of his obsession with words that thirty years later, another group of like-minded people have joined hands and embarked on a journey of words again. We who are long since our youth is gone, we no longer want to go up retrospectively to challenge the way of resistance and long, resistance and climbing, and resistance and right, but the cause of prosperity, with the encounter and peace, down the stream, perhaps suddenly looking back, the so-called Yiren, has been like in the middle of the water......
Compared with the time of "Oily Youth", the current WPS97 has become an installation disc in a cardboard box, carrying some memories of diligence and hardship.
What followed was a world-wide improvement in the level of design.
Software such as Iedit and CorelDraw are modestly pretty handy.
Everything is ready for the basics.
A total of 14 colleagues responded to my appointment and handed in their articles as scheduled.
I carefully designed 24 pages (if there are interested readers, you can click on the cover picture above, you can go directly to the electronic version), and asked our next generation, Tian Jijiang's daughter, to write a wonderful "Message from the Front", which amazed our eyes.
I really didn't expect our hobby to be passed on to the next generation, which is more enjoyable than turning our words into lead.
Good job, Tian Yili.
It's a pity that only the first issue came out.
Many students have already submitted their manuscripts for the second issue.
I've also designed a lot of pages.
Including the cover design, a few more manuscripts will make the book.
After the article is designed and bound into a book, the physical book in the hand feels different.
That's a kind of reality.
It is also an achievement.
After the book was printed, I mailed the completed book submitted by my classmates from other places, and I became addicted to real editing.
At the same time, I made up my mind, if only I could write a rejection letter:
Zhou Moushuo, the communication was received, and it was slightly insufficient, mainly reflected in 1234567xxxxxx (1,000 words omitted here), and the manuscript is now returned to you, I hope you will continue to work hard. Thank you for contributing.
Hahahaha!
Very happy!
I am happy but also a little embarrassed, the writers have given me the manuscript for five or six years, and the second issue has not yet come out, no matter how you find a reason, you can't say it.
I can only say that there will always be a second issue.
After all, more than half of the drafts handed in have been designed, and there is not much difference.
The fourth paragraph is about to begin, the feat of editing and designing what I have written before and printing it into a book.
I have named this anthology "Selected Writings of the Fallen Maple Collection", and I have already designed a few pages of it.
This fourth period of editing will probably be my longest tenure.
At the beginning of this section, I said that strictly speaking, my years as an editor should be divided into 4.5 paragraphs.
Among them, this 0.5 paragraph is attributed to the time of the teacher's college.
In those two years, we gathered together with the same enthusiasm and enthusiasm as always to meet to start a publication.
After several disputes, the final name of the publication was "Exploring the Sea Stone".
It is edited by Tian Jijiang.
I've been looking through this journal lately, and I've been working on it since I wrote the outline and knew that I would write this paragraph, and I asked all the people I could think of who might keep this book, and they all said I don't have it here, you ask XXX, he should have it there.
I asked and didn't find it in the end. It will not be available.
A slight pity.
Because of my confidence that I definitely didn't know where to put it, I turned on the whole house rummaging mode. The hard work paid off, and I finally found the last page of the publication in a file bag while I was rummaging through the clippings in Chapter 9 in advance.
It was a page of 16 signatures over 30 years old that had been badly damaged, and the longest crack almost split the paper in two, leaving only a few centimeters of joint, and it took me some effort to get to the point of taking a photograph. This page bears witness to the fact that 16 people founded the journal that year.
At that time, we must have been young and excited, and there was no shortage of exciting scenes and bridges. There will certainly be a commitment to keep this publication going wherever we go. It's a pity that most of them haven't met again after graduation, and a few of them can't remember who it is.
All that remains is this piece of paper with 16 signatures.
The reason why I attribute this period of time to 0.5 paragraphs is because almost all of those four paragraphs were edited by myself, and these 0.5 paragraphs are collected by everyone.
Although I haven't found this journal yet, I still vaguely remember that Tian Jijiang's first message was unanimously praised, as if it had risen into a hurricane somewhere, forget it, don't continue to recall, I can't remember the situation to recall the articles written by others is purely aesthetic.
My habit of putting some queues at 0.5 comes from the accommodation of the teacher's college.
In our days, it was a room for 6 people.
Anyone who has lived in a dormitory knows that when several people under the same roof meet for the first time, the first thing is basically to line up who is bigger and who is smaller.
For some reason, there were only five people in our dormitory at first.
The eldest to the fifth, once lined up.
We all agree with this name.
A few days later, another one came.
Bigger than the old size, bigger than Liqun's classmates.
Because we have been called each other very smoothly by the eldest to the fifth, if we change it, we will have to change everything.
I had an idea and proposed, don't move the original one, he is 1.5!
5:1, the proposal passed.
Since then, our dormitory is different from other dormitories, the fifth in our dormitory is the old pimple, and the sixth in the other dormitories is.
It's a vignette for the text!
At the end of the sentence, one more thing came to mind.
There are many things that can be passed on, for example, my daughter also got a publication "Rocker Board" when she was in school, and she directly used CorelDraw typesetting.
Later, she joined the school magazine department of her school and became the editor-in-chief.
I used a software typesetting full of foreign letters, and I had never heard of it at all.
This is the publication she arranged and designed.,It's a pity that it's all in English.,I can't read it.。。
It doesn't matter if you don't understand it.
Watching her concentrate on "my" hobby, I'm already very happy!
