Maintain inner peace and purity. If you want to attain omniscient wisdom, you have to be able to attain one samadhi and one samadhi. ”

A young disciple who had just arrived stood up and asked, "What is the samadhi?"

The Sixth Patriarch Huineng explained: "If you are not obsessed with those visible things, do not have disgust and affection, do not have the idea of greed and abandonment, do not care about success or failure, have no worries in your heart, are comfortable and leisurely, quiet and indifferent, and transcendent from the outside world, this is called one phase samadhi." ”

The young disciple then asked, "So, what is a line of samadhi?"

The Sixth Patriarch Huineng explained: "No matter where you are, no matter where you live, whether you sit or lie down, if you have a single pure heart and maintain a peaceful state of mind, then you will have a good day and a good place everywhere, and you will truly have a Pure Land of Bliss." This is called a line of three flavors. ”

Sixth Patriarch Huineng: "If you have these, just like a seed buried in the ground, it will naturally grow the buds of Bodhi and bear the fruits of Bodhi." ”

Everyone agreed: "Master's Dharma for us today is like rain from the sky, nourishing our hearts. ”

The Sixth Patriarch Huineng's longevity eyebrows showed: "The Buddha nature you originally have is like a seed in the ground, which will sprout and grow when it is moistened by rain and dew. Those who inherit the tenets of my Zen teachings will surely attain the right path and bear true Buddhahood. I'll send you another verse. ”

The heart contains all kinds,

The rain is all cute.

Epiphany,

Bodhi fruit is self-contained.

In the early days of our Zen Buddhism, the world-honored man held flowers and smiled. In the solemn calamity, there is the corpse of the Buddha, the corpse of the Buddha, the Buddha of the Buddha. In the virtuous tribulation, there are detained Sun Buddha, detained Nahamuni Buddha, Kasa Buddha, and Shakyamuni Buddha. Collectively known as the Seven Buddhas. Sixth Ancestor Huineng bent down to pick up a yellow leaf on the ground, stared at it in front of him for a long time, and said to himself: "Heh, the fallen leaves return to the roots!"

At this time, Fahai and the gods will talk about the affairs of the temple while walking towards this side.

Fahai stepped forward and reported, "Master, the boat you instructed your disciples to do yesterday is ready. ”

Sixth Ancestor Huineng said: "Shenhui, Fahai, it's time for the teacher to set off and return to Xinzhou." ”

God would blink: "When will you leave?"

Sixth Ancestor Huineng: "It's today." ”

God will be surprised: "So fast?"

Sixth Ancestor Huineng: "It's not fast, it's time." ”

Fahai asked, "Master, how many people are you going to take with you?"

Sixth Ancestor Huineng: "Only bring six people, and you and the gods will also accompany you and set off from the waterway." ”

At the mouth of Caoxi Creek, all the monks of Baolin Temple were dressed neatly and came to see off the master.

The mountain breeze blows through the plum groves on the slopes on both sides.

When the Buddhas appear, they still show nirvana, they will come and go, and the reason is always the same. ”

The apprentices asked, "Who taught the Teacher's Eyes?"

The Sixth Patriarch Huineng replied: "Those who have the Tao can get it, and those who have no heart can get it." After speaking, he waved goodbye to the disciples.

The wooden boat that the sixth ancestor Huineng took departed from Shaozhou, passed through the plum groves on both sides of the Cao River, and slowly went off the shore and down the Beijiang River.

Clear green water, dotted white sails, veins and green mountains, bright wildflowers, deep blue sky, patches of white clouds...... Everything is so natural, so beautiful. Even the old figure of the sixth ancestor Huineng standing on the bow of the boat is also integrated into this harmonious nature.

The river is as green as satin, and the cliffs on both sides of the river seem to be cut.

The blue sky is vast, and the waterfowl are soaring.

The beautiful scenery in front of him is infinite, but what emerges in front of the eyes of the six ancestors is the scenes of life: Jintai Temple listened to the scriptures, went to Hubei Dongchan Temple to go to the five ancestors, and also got the ancestral holy clothes and golden bowls, and then hid in Huaiji, Sihui, Xinzhou for more than 16 years, until the comeback after the Guangzhou Dharma Temple shaved, in Shaozhou Baolin Temple opened the "epiphany" method, in the blink of an eye, and more than 30 years.

What a twists and turns and hardships for this long journey of life! After thinking about it, the sixth ancestor Hui Neng couldn't stop thinking a lot of emotions and felt a lot of emotion.

The light boat traveled on the river for many days, from the Beijiang River down the Pearl River, and then traced the river upstream, when it arrived at the mouth of the Antelope Gorge, it was already the sunset of the remnant sunset, and the sail was pointed.

When the sun was setting, the light boat that the six ancestors Huineng and they took passed through the ancient city of Duanzhou and anchored at a wharf in the west of the city.

Seeing that it was getting late, the boatman pointed to the light boat that was beaten by the wind and waves, and said to the sixth ancestor Huineng's master and apprentice: "Master, it is getting late now, and there is a strong wind blowing on the river, and the waves are so big, it is not safe to sail overnight. We might as well dock the ship, cook a meal, rest for the night, and then set off tomorrow morning, shall we?"

Sixth Ancestor Huineng nodded: "Okay, donor, then let's rest for one night first, you have been traveling for a few days, and you are tired enough." ”

The gods would say to the Sixth Patriarch, Huineng, "People say that this place is picturesque, why don't we take advantage of the gap to go ashore and take a look at the beautiful scenery in the city?"
