The eldest brother Fu Naning said: "Little brother, you are too ignorant. In this deep mountain and old forest, in a hurry, where to get fresh flesh and blood? Besides, it's too unfair to hurt the lives of other animals in order to save its life, right? ”

Satan had to admit that his brother was right. Is there really no way but to watch the tigress family starve to death miserably, or kill each other? Satan looked down in thought.

Seeing that he was in a daze and stunned, the eldest brother urged him to leave this sad place. But Satta said: "Brother, you go ahead, I'll make it easier for me to chase you immediately." ”

So, Satan went to the outside of the cave and found a sharp branch that pierced his body and caused blood to come out. After sucking some blood, the tigress gradually recovered, and when she had strength, she tore and devoured Prince Sata in one bite......

The eldest Fu Naning suddenly felt a heartbeat, and when he turned around, he didn't see his little brother coming, thinking of his usual kindness to animals, he felt that something big was not good, and hurriedly returned to the tiger's den.

However, it was too late, and the flesh and blood in the tiger's den were blurred, and the hair was in disarray, and where was the figure of Sata......

The two brothers were shocked, mourning silently, and tears poured down......

They wept and told their parents the news, and the king and queen hurried to the scene, and the beloved son who was alive and kicking had turned into a pile of white bones, flashing with a cold cold light......

They picked up the bones left over from the tiger's eating and brought them back for burial. A tall tower was built on the site of his grave to commemorate Sata's good deeds.

The eldest brother at that time------ Maha Funaning, is today's Maitreya; And the little brother ------ the prince Mahasattva, who sacrificed himself to feed the tiger, is another predecessor of Shakyamuni Buddha. Because of this feat of sacrificing his life to feed the tiger, Shakyamuni was able to become a Buddha eleven years ago.

Still in ancient times, there was a sage king in the kingdom of Tihowei named Dengsheng. That year, when his crown prince was born, in the palace, around the birth bed, like a lantern, it was like a lantern, so he was named "Prince Burning Lamp".

Burning lamps are also called ingots, because at that time, the lighting appliances had enough famous ingots, and there were no famous lamps with feet, and the ingots and lamps were universal. When the king was dying, he entrusted the country to the prince of the lamp.

However, the crown prince was a great practitioner and knew that the world was impermanent, so he gave up the throne to his younger brother. He became a monk and made a sand gate, and after hard practice, he achieved the Buddha fruit, and was called "Buddha of Burning Lamp", also known as "Buddha of Ingot Light".

At that time, there was a practicing Sanskrit in the forest, named Confucian Tong (i.e., Mana Immortal). When he heard that the Buddha had attained enlightenment, he was very glad that he was able to catch up with the Buddha's death, so he immediately went to meet him. While passing through a capital city, Confucian met the king's daughter, Princess Quyi. At that time, she was holding seven beautiful and bright blue lotus flowers in her hands.

The Confucian boy couldn't help but exclaim: "What a rare blue lotus! It's a gem in the world! He then asked Princess Qu Yi, "Do you have a blue lotus flower to sell?" ”

Seeing his hungry look, Princess Qu Yi secretly smiled in her heart. She deliberately teased him and said, "Sell, a hundred gold coins." ”

Oh my God, one hundred gold coins is equivalent to a person's entire income for a year! Who would buy such a high-priced lotus?

However, the Confucian boy really took out all the money, scraped together a total of five hundred gold coins, and bought five Qinglian from the princess.

Princess Qu Yi was very curious when she saw that he was buying blue lotus flowers at the expense of his family, and couldn't help asking, "What do you want these lotus flowers for?" ”

Confucian Tong said: "Recently, there was a Buddha who burned the lamp and was born, and I sold flowers to make offerings. ”

Princess Qu Yi said generously: "In this case, I will give you the remaining two flowers." ”

The Confucian boy said: "Offering flowers to the Buddha has immeasurable merits, why don't princesses offer them in front of the Buddha?" ”

Qu Yi said: "I'm a princess, I can't leave the capital casually, so please leave it." ”

So, the Confucian boy came to the residence of the Buddha and worshipped the Buddha with the seven-stemmed green lotus shared by the two. After that, he stayed under the lamp seat and listened to the Dharma.

One day, when he was accompanying the Buddha Sutra of Burning Lamps, he noticed that there was a place on the road ahead that was very muddy. The Confucian boy was very worried that he would fall down due to the slippery road, so he did not hesitate to take off his clothes and spread them on the road.

However, the clothes were too small to cover all the mud. He was in a hurry, and hurriedly untied his long hair coiled on the top of his head, so that the Buddha could pass by.

Because of this, the Buddha touched the top of the Confucian boy's head with his hand, and said: "In the future, the ninety-one calamity, the name is the virtuous tribulation, and you will be regarded as a Buddha, and the name is Sakyamuni." ”

This is the story of the Buddha who burned the lamp to give a note to Shakyamuni. It is because of the cloth hair offering to the Buddha of the Burning Lamp, because of its diligence, the eight calamities are beyond the sea of life and death.

If so, coupled with the fact that Shakyamuni met the Buddha of Desand in the practice of the Hundred Tribulations. Moved by the Buddha's appearance, he looked at the Buddha for seven days and seven nights without closing his eyes, and praised the merits of the Buddha with his son, so he transcended the nine eons. In this way, the immeasurable time of the forty great eons was surpassed by his perseverance, surpassing Maitreya and becoming a Buddha in advance.

The raging fire that ignited in Tianhua Temple burned the mountains red, reflected the sea, and it seemed that even the sky was ignited, flashing with blazing flames.

Seeing that all the halls and living facilities of the whole temple were set on fire by the officers and soldiers, and the ancient temples that had condensed the painstaking efforts of countless eminent monks were destroyed, and the fruits of their years of hard work were in vain, some young monks could no longer sit still, their eyes were sprayed with anger, and they stood up with righteous indignation.

Those officers and men who were eyeing the surroundings and were on the alert immediately drew their weapons with cold light, put on a battle formation, and surrounded them tightly.

Although the young monk is unarmed, he is full of justice and enthusiasm; Officers and soldiers like wolves and tigers have swords in their hands, killing people like hemp, and they are bloodthirsty.

The two sides confronted each other nervously, eyes of mutual hatred collided, fought, and fought.

You can seem to hear the clanging of swords and halberds......

The atmosphere was tense and almost suffocated, and the air was filled with gunpowder powder, and if a single hair fell, it would explode with a bang, and the blood would rush to the sky......

"Shakyamuni Buddha."

Suddenly, a loud Buddha horn sounded, like a dose of cool nectar, which extinguished the fierce anger in the hearts of the young monks.

I don't know what kind of material this cloth bag is made of, it is only the size of a fist in the hand, but when unfolded, it is five or six feet long, and it seems to be larger than the bag that people usually hold food. He carried his pocket, walked up to the monks who were glaring at each other, and said with a smile: "Senior brothers, there is anger in their chests and anger in their hearts, so please spit them all into my cloth bag." ”

What, to spit out the anger and anger in your heart into a cloth bag? Did people mishear it, or did it fit their nerves?

Qi smiled and urged the young monks: "Come on, come on, senior brothers, don't underestimate my cloth bag, spread out in all directions, and the void is unhindered. You can pour into it all the grievances and anger that have accumulated over the years. After spitting it out, I can guarantee that you will be relaxed and happy. ”

When the monks saw this, they couldn't help but be full of doubts. A grumpy monk in the prime of life reprimanded: "Little novice, go away! What are you messing around here? How can the anger in people's hearts be spit out? ”

Qi immediately said very seriously: "If you can't spit it out, doesn't it mean that other senior brothers can't spit it out either?" ”

The other monks said in unison that they couldn't breathe out their anger.

After hearing this, he laughed.

He laughed inexplicably, and everyone was inexplicably laughed at by him, so everyone inexplicably asked each other about this inexplicable situation with their eyes.

He laughed enough, and then said: "Since you can't spit out your fire, it means that the nature of firepower is empty!" Since self-nature is empty, there is no substance, and it will disappear automatically. What are you standing there for? If you can't exhale the anger, it will naturally have subsided! ”

Everyone is an old Zen and son who has been participating for a long time, and they can't help but tremble in their hearts, and they all feel the rolling Zen machine......

In that year, Patriarch Bodhidharma came to the Central Plains and faced the wall of the Taigu Cave of Songshan Shaolin Temple for nine years. In order to seek the Dharma, Zen Master Hui Ke stood for a long time outside the cave under the heavy snow and biting cold wind.

However, Bodhidharma said, "If you want to get my mind, unless it snows in the sky!" ”

Red snow in the sky? It's impossible! In other words, Hui Ke has no hope for supreme Bodhi! In order to express his determination to seek the Dharma to the death, and to show his sincerity from the soul, Hui Ke took out his ring knife and slashed at his left arm......

That's when a miracle happened!

The blood gushing out from Huike's broken arm stained the snowflakes fluttering in the air red, and stained the white snow!

Bodhidharma finally agreed to accept Hui Ke as a disciple.

Hui Ke broke an arm and trembled with pain, but instead of saying that he was in pain, he said, "Master, my heart is in pain, please feel at ease for me." ”

It turned out that Hui Ke was asking Bodhidharma for the true meaning of Buddhism.

Therefore, the heart he speaks of is not the heart in our usual sense, but our true heart.

Although the true heart is formless, it can feel, think, fantasize, dream, speak, hear, generate intuitive inspiration, gesture, raise eyebrows...... It's omnipresent and omnipotent.

Buddhism's so-called enlightenment - clear mind, that is, the mind is a Buddha, and there is no difference between the mind, the Buddha, and sentient beings, which is what we are talking about.

Patriarch Bodhidharma heard Hui Ke's heartache and unease, his eyes were round, and he stretched out a big hand in front of him and shouted: "Take your heart, I will be safe for you!" ”

At the moment when Bodhidharma stretched out his hand in front of him, Hui Ke clearly felt that he was hit by an invisible but tangible force.

He was stunned and amazed, as if he had realized something, but he couldn't say anything......

Each of us has this experience: when we put our hearts into it, the true heart is everywhere and omnipotent, but after using it, it disappears without a trace, without form.

With such a heart, there is no fixed place, so where can Hui Ke find it?

Therefore, Hui Ke was stunned for a long time and muttered, "Master, you asked me to bring my heart, but where is my heart?" I can't find it! ”

"It's already for you!" Bodhidharma roared.

His roar, like a thunderbolt on a sunny day, exploded in front of Hui Ke, suddenly shattering his thoughts.

Yes, since you can't find your heart, why do you still have a heartache? Since your heart is empty, what are you going to do?

If you can't find your heart, you can rest assured!

The fog cleared and the sun shone brightly. Hui Ke is self-natureTanaka Hui is in the sky, and the silence shines in all directions. He was enlightened.

Since then, Hui Ke has become the second generation patriarch of Zen Buddhism.

Monk Yunqing lost no time in standing up and said to everyone: "This is right, no matter when and where, we must not forget that we are disciples of the Buddha and should take care of our minds with the Dharma. The patriarchs of Zen Buddhism have said that it is easy to practice meditation on the cross streets. Now, despite the current fire, it is also a good opportunity to practice meditation! Everyone sat down and concentrated on meditation. ”

The middle-aged Zen monk was a man of temperament, and when he saw the good monastery turn to ashes, he was unwilling and said, "Master, my heart is burning like a fire, and it is really difficult to calm down!" ”

Monk Yunqing said, "Then you should look at the injustice in your heart!" The mind is empty, where is the thought? ”

After being silent for a moment, Yun Qing shouted in shock: "Ginseng! ”

As a result, an extremely rare scenario emerged:

Under the scorching fire, under the light of the fire, surrounded by the army of tigers and wolves, and in the shadow of the swords and swords of the soldiers, hundreds of monks sat on the ground, their minds were introverted, they went deep into meditation, and practiced quietly......

The earth is speechless, shaken by its pathos!

The sky is silent, and I am shocked by its magnificence!!

The ghosts and gods are ruthless, and they are also moved when they see this scene!!

How could the officers and men have ever seen such a solemn, sacred, and mysterious scene?!

They have sharp weapons in their hands, but their scalps are numb for a while;

They had never blinked a murderous killing, but now they felt a chill from the soul.

The ferocious leader also felt a chill down his spine for some reason, and his heart was pounding, so he hurriedly withdrew with his men, no longer pursuing the three deserters of Yingqing, and went directly back to the barracks.

After the officers and soldiers left, nearby villagers came with buckets and hooks to help the monks put out the fire.

However, all the buildings of Tianhua Temple are on fire, smoke everywhere, and they are all brick and wood structures, the flames are in the air, the flames are ten, the heat wave radiates, people can't get close to splash water at all, and the hook can't come in handy, and can only watch the ancient Tianhua Temple gradually turn into ashes.

After the catastrophe, looking at the mess in front of them, the monks of the whole temple were at a loss, and they didn't know what to do. It was getting dark, and the villagers invited the monks to their homes to rest, but no one wanted to leave, and they all sat silently in the smoking ruins of Tianhua Temple, as if waiting for something.

At night, a young monk's eyes were sharp, and he found that in the ruins of the collapsed Tibetan scripture building, treasures lingered and golden light flickered.

Could it be that there are still unburned embers? However, it was clearly not a scorching fire, but a cool auspicious light.

Several young monks dug through the ruins and found two Buddhist scriptures intact!

Oh my God, the flames soared into the sky, the tongue of fire swept away, even the stones were burned, and the two Buddhist scriptures were unharmed!

Monk Yunqing opened two sutras, which contained the "Buddha Says that Maitreya Bodhisattva Shangsheng Doutian Sutra" translated by the layman Fuqu Jingsheng and the "Buddha Says Maitreya Dacheng Sutra" translated by Kumarosh.

He pointed to the deed and said: "Deed, the fire is blazing, the jade is burning, why can the two classics be spared?" ”

Monk Yunqing continued: "Here, these two letters of Buddhist scriptures will be left to you. You have to take a good look at how Maitreya Bodhisattva is happy with the people and purifies all sentient beings. ”

He said, "Okay, I'll read the scriptures." ”

As he spoke, he really moved the two Buddhist scriptures to himself. However, instead of reading it respectfully, he half-leaned and half-leaned on it.

How can anyone in the world read like this!

What's more, this is a solemn and sacred Buddhist scripture!

Sure enough, Monk Yunqing said: "Here's it, don't mess around!" The scriptures are for recitation. ”

Qi said with a smile: "The black light is blind, it is the time to sleep, why not use the letter as a pillow!" ”

Although it is said that "Zen monks have no home everywhere, and spend their years with karma", however, meditation and enlightenment, after all, need a relatively fixed place!

Qi sat up and solemnly said to the abbot of Yunqing: "Great monk, Tianhua Temple has been completely destroyed, and it is difficult to recover in a short time. There is not a single room here, there is not a grain of food, and there is no longer a place to live in the people. Therefore, I suggest that you lead everyone to take refuge in Yuelin Temple near the county seat. ”
