2023/12/30 Find the right balance for yourself
It is customary to save a part of the money you earn, with the aim of taking back control of your life, you can choose not to do any work, you can choose to stay away from someone, you can choose not to do things you don't like.
Enough savings to survive can increase your choice, work when you want, rest when you want, play when you want, do what you are good at and enjoy, and do what you like, such freedom is a luxury.
Many rich people can't spend all the money they earn in their lifetime, but they don't have this freedom, this luxury. People who spend more often than they earn, who often take out loans, and who are in debt, will never have the right to choose their lives, and will never have freedom.
This group of people can only do things they don't like for money, see people they don't like, want to rest for a few days, and can't recover their spirits, because as soon as they stop, their lives will collapse.
In my daily life, I have always maintained a habit of saving a part of my income. The main purpose of this is to regain control of your life. With savings, I can choose not to do certain jobs, stay away from certain people, and even avoid doing things I don't like.
Saving well actually gives me more options. I can choose to work or rest, play or focus on what I am good at or enjoy depending on my wishes. This freedom is invaluable, and many wealthy people may not be able to enjoy this luxury, even though they have enough wealth.
Many wealthy people may not be able to enjoy this freedom and choice, although they have endless money to spend throughout their lives. Those who are often struggling to make ends meet and are in debt, they often lose their choice and true freedom in life. For these people, they may have to work in jobs they don't like and deal with people they don't like in order to make a living. They may not be able to spare a few days to rest and recuperate because their lives can be in jeopardy once they stop working. Therefore, saving is not only about coping with unexpected needs, but also about regaining control and freedom of choice in your life.
Which is better, more time and more work, or less time and shorter work?
Long and short working hours, more or less input, are all relative concepts, and there is no absolute standard. Some people work more than ten hours a day, while others only work five or six hours. Some people work six days a week, while others work only four days. Which is better, it is related to personal pursuits, family needs, career requirements, etc.
Some people work long hours and invest more because they love the job and are willing to spend more time doing what they love. They may feel that the work itself is a kind of enjoyment, and they realize their own value and gain a sense of accomplishment through the work.
Some people work short hours and have little commitment because they focus on quality of life and are not willing to spend all their time at work. They may prefer to spend their spare time with family, friends, and doing things they enjoy.
There is no absolute standard for which is better. The key is to find a balance that suits you and make your work and life satisfying. If you feel that working long hours is exhausting you, you need to adjust your work style to reduce your work time and commitment. If you feel that work has made you lose the joy of life, then you need to adjust your attitude towards life and increase your commitment and time to work.
In conclusion, finding the right balance for yourself is key so that you can achieve true happiness and fulfillment in work and life.
