Chapter 33: The Past and the Reunion
The plot has a slight shift in Grace's body.
It is true that her right leg was seriously injured in the car accident, but it was not amputated, and she was only temporarily incapacitated and needed to be slowly recovered in the subsequent rehabilitation.
But the psychological trauma she suffered was much more severe.
Not only witnessed the tragic death of a friend under the wheel of the truck, but also watched the pilgrim who loved horses being knocked out of the way.
When the pilgrim was found after a car accident, he was already dying.
The veterinarian even directly concluded that it would not live long, so it was better to give it a good time.
However, Grace's mother, Anne, realizes that if the pilgrim dies, it will be like another car accident for her daughter.
She begged the veterinarian to heal the pilgrim as she could, while asking around for ways to recover.
Soon she saw a book about horse whisperers, searched the Internet with the idea of giving it a try, and found a news article about Tom.
By phone, Tom was reluctant to travel all the way to New York to treat a horse, so Anne drove her daughter and pulled a trailer to carry the dying pilgrims to Montana.
When the trailer opened and saw the pilgrims lying in it dying, Tom was stunned.
He swore he had never seen such a badly injured horse, and the most bizarre thing was that it was still alive.
While lamenting the tenacious vitality of this horse, Tom tells Anne and Grace mother and daughter a cold truth.
The horse certainly can't be saved.
Tom's opinion, like that of the veterinarian, is the best way to give it a good time.
Hearing the bad news, Anne and Grace hugged each other and cried, sad and disappointed, but finally decided to do Tom's words.
However, while they discuss the pilgrim's injuries, Jamie sneaks up on the trailer and feeds the dying pilgrim some spring water that John took out of space.
John had experimented with it before, and the spatial spring water had a good effect on injuries and various diseases.
The next day, when Tom led the veterinarian to euthanize the pilgrims, he was surprised to find that he had risen from the trailer and had eaten some of the forage.
Euthanasia was canceled.
After this, Jamie would quietly feed the Pilgrim some spatial spring water every day, and his injuries began to recover at an alarming rate.
This happened to Tom before, and it was very strange.
Anne, on the other hand, thinks that all this is due to the magical abilities of the horse whisperer, and looks at Tom more and more differently.
Grace, however, doesn't think so.
She was once seen inadvertently seeing Jamie feeding water to pilgrims.
The pilgrim, who would have become grumpy and out of control if anyone approached him, was unusually tame in front of Jamie.
At Jamie's suggestion, Grace mustered up the courage to pet her horse again.
However, pilgrims will immediately become irritable when confronted by anyone other than Jamie.
In order for Grace to fulfill her wish, Jamie can only take Grace's hand and touch the pilgrim.
After a lot of comings and goings, the pilgrims accepted Grace again.
And Grace is also in the intimate contact of hand-in-hand, and secretly has feelings for Jamie.
One day after the Pilgrim had fully recovered, Grace sat on the Pilgrim's horse again with Jamie's encouragement.
The two of them rode together on a horse in the wilderness of Montana, and Grace's heart knot was untied.
During the break, Grace took the initiative to kiss Jamie.
A beautiful and pure love has not had time to unfold between the two, when the two ride back to the ranch but encounter a thunderous scene.
Grace's mother, Anne, kissed Tom at the stable.
This scene happened to be bumped into by Grace and Jamie, who were riding on horseback.
At the same time, Anne also saw the picture of Grace and Jamie riding together.
The mother and daughter had a big fight.
Grace accuses Anne of nominally coming to heal the pilgrims' wounds, but in fact betraying her husband and family by having a tryst with another man.
Anne resented her daughter's hiding from her that she was so close to a wild boy from a ranch.
She even asked Tom on the spot to get Jamie away.
Tom, however, reluctantly told Anne that he couldn't.
Because of the wild boy in Anne's mouth, his surname is Dutton.
Although the ranch is not owned by Dutton's family, the rancher, who is Tom's brother, has decided to sell the ranch land to John, and the family goes to the Yellowstone ranch.
Jamie has no interest in this bloody family ethics and leaves on his own initiative, while persuading Grace to have a good talk with Anne.
His original intention was just to hope that Grace would not have such a stiff relationship with her mother, but he didn't expect Grace to really listen to persuasion.
In the evening, the mother and daughter had a deep conversation and finally reconciled.
Anne admits that her relationship with Tom was wrong, and that she can't afford to abandon her family and career in New York.
Grace also confesses to Anne that she and Jamie don't have the kind of relationship that their mother thought.
Both mother and daughter breathed a sigh of relief.
Anne is glad that her daughter was not cheated, and Grace is glad that her parents' marriage was saved.
Both of them put family and family first, and they are determined to make a break with the emotions in their hearts.
Early the next morning, the mother and daughter said goodbye and returned with the pilgrims, bidding farewell to this place forever.
Jamie thought that Grace would disappear from his life completely, but he didn't expect to meet again in such a way after three years.
Looking at the photos on the screen in front of him, Jamie immediately made a decision, and after getting off the plane, he was going to go to Phillips Exeter High School in New Hampshire to "interview" Zuckerberg.
Rebecca originally wanted to be Jamie's guide, but seeing Serena's secretly wary eyes and Blair, who was ready to isolate her at any time, she finally gave up on this decision.
After getting off the plane, everyone went their separate ways.
Jamie and Serena come to Hampshire House together to see the new home.
Serena loved the edgy and minimalist décor and couldn't wait to check out the comfort of the bedroom bed with Jamie.
Half an hour later.
Serena soaks comfortably in the large round bathtub, holding a glass of red wine, and enjoys the invincible view of Central Park from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
At this time, the mobile phone that was placed aside suddenly rang.
Seeing that it was her mother Lily's call, Serena answered it without hesitation.
Lily's usual elegant voice came from the other end of the line.
"I heard Chuck say you've returned to New York."
"Chuck?"
Serena grabbed a handful of foam to her chest and sat up from the tub.
She couldn't figure out why Lily had met Chuck.
Lily bluntly told Serena that she was at Chuck's house at the moment.
As for the reason -
Just yesterday afternoon, Lily accepted Chuck's father's marriage proposal.
They're getting married.
