Chapter 12: Finding the Dungeon
How nice it is to bask in a greater treasure!
Winkel did much more than he intended to do. His treasure did not double, but at least quadrupled. While he once struggled to bathe himself in coins, the dragon can now roll happily in gold and jewels.
All this was done in less than a month. If this continues, his cavern will not be able to hold all of his treasures.
"Guys, go away!" Servant Victor shouted outside, and Van Kerr ignored it. "Didn't you see the sign?" If you get any closer, you'll be killed!"
"Is that the dragon's lair?" A shrill voice replied, and Winkel tried to block it.
"Yes, but you really, really don't have a chanceβ" A lightning voice echoed in the distance. "Well, that's all!" Kill them, Minions!"
The sound of explosions and tremors interrupted Wacker's pleasant bath. The dragon turned to the entrance of the cave, where his minions had set up barricades. "Manlin Victor, what's going on?"

S, again! His chief of staff shouted, and another jolt shook as an icicle landed at the mouth of the cave, nearly impaling a kobold. "Blue, snipe that wizard!"
"I'm trying, Chief!" The undead minion shoots an arrow with a cowbone bow. "I've got him!"
Winkel was very proud of Victor's choice to study witchcraft. The Undead Minions didn't just add Vai

and he can now eat Minions, spit out bones, and still use them.
"Hit him right between his legs!" Red gloated after shooting his own arrow, then roared. "They have therapists!"
Winkel muttered, rose from his treasure and joined the siege.
Because they reached a certain level in Outlaw β which Van Kel found funny, who thought the law was a ridiculous act β Victor gave each kobold ranger bow and arrow, and taught them how to use it. Good idea, because this is the seventh expedition they're sniping this week.
At first, it was fun and lucrative, but Winkel grew tired of the endless interruptions.
The dragon's head emerged from the hole and cast his minions into his shadows, glancing down at their target. A group of stupid Manlin, dwarves, and elves, mostly armed with sticks that Manlin Victor called arquebuses or wands. Winkel counted them, fifteen in all.
This time they brought more people back, as if that would help. Lovely.
Unfortunately, they didn't bring Pegasus riders, unlike the previous group, so there was no horse ration tonight. Winkel's favorite thing is to poke them, but his fingers are sore from overuse.
"They're very persistent." When a magical projectile bounces off his head, the dragon considers learning magic on his own. The way some wizards often threw lightning bolts at him always fascinated Wink. It didn't work, but he found it interesting. "I thought they would give up after the first three temptations."
Victor replied, "Your Majesty's bounty for the head is high." "The location of your nest is now known."
Yes, yes, that's the downside of fame and celebrity.
The dragon let out a powerful roar, causing an avalanche; Snow rolled down the hill and flooded the screaming Manlin, while the cave was unscathed. He knew that choosing this place would be very helpful.
Congratulations! Capable of protecting your territory and retinue with the power of your noble roar alone, you have risen one level in the [Noble] rank!

Finally! Winkel began to wonder if he would be able to gain experience from it, and he was one level away from that generous stipend. "Alright, the problem is solved." Long said. "Take back their treasures, and I'll go take a bath."
"Your Majesty, we can't go on like this." Victor said he had dark circles under his eyes. "They come all the time, even at night. They ignore all warnings. β
"We can't repeat our new motto," Rhett complained. "As soon as we have time, yellow destroys it!"
"I'm just saying, where should we put the word 'bad luck'." The yellow skeleton replied, then shifted back to the deep voice he already enjoyed. βDoooooomγβ
The echo caused a smaller avalanche that killed several people who managed to crawl out of the snow. Van Kerr ignored them and hid in his cave. "Minions, I'm as annoyed as you are, but what can I do? I can't ban Manlin from assisted suicide. β
"Yes, as part of natural selection, I'm used to killing the idiots who attack us first, but we should resettle." Manling Victor shivered, shivering even in a goatskin coat. "Go to a warm mountain where adventurers won't always find us"
Abandon his cave? Not a single dragon didn't run!" Aren't you happy to have a roof?" Van Kerr scares his minions. "You have plenty of food and the most beautiful scenery on the mainland......"
"We don't have space and I'm tired of eating goats all the time," complained Manlin Victor, who became more daring and angry due to lack of sleep. "And, one cave will soon not be enough to hold your treasure, Your Majesty."
Winkel pondered the suggestion, his eyes fixed on his treasure. In fact, his cave would soon become too small, and thieves might be lucky enough to steal his gold while hunting outside. Although he trusted his entourage, they could not deal with so many robbers at the same time.
And since they made squid, they haven't received any requests. Maybe they should use this time to find a new place to live.
"I still don't understand why every time we go to your guild hall, it's always empty."
"Your Majesty." His chief of staff coughed. "The problem with eating quest givers is that no one will give you quests anymore because they're afraid you'll eat them too."
"But she refused to pay me first!" Vai

protested. "Witnesses before!"
"Yes, she is still a nobleman with a high status and a wide range of contacts. I did file a complaint with the Adventurers' Guild, and I heard that the Duchess's sister was privately happy that we had expedited her inheritance, but we couldn't find a job for the time being. β
"I can't believe that in this case, your weak race would do this?" Complaining and being lazy?"
"Your Majesty, your portrayal of our race is very flattering." Victor said flatteringly, as usual. "Usually we just clean up dungeons, kill monsters, and take their treasures."
At the mention of the treasure, Van Kerr's head cocked and hit the ceiling. "Baby? He repeated that the kobold hid behind him so as not to fall off icicles, "Minions, tell me everything." β
The chief of staff scratched the back of his head, probably not knowing where to start. "Dungeons are dangerous places, full of monsters and treasures," he explained to his master. "Adventurers who clean up this place can take everything they get and even take the dungeon if they kill all the monsters inside. However, dungeons usually have a super powerful creature with a boss to control them. β
"A monster lord." Wacker guessed.
"Do you have a specific statement?"
"Monster lords are at the top of the food chain," Pi
k chirped. "They are the strongest of the strong, and the minions should obey them!"
"Dragons are always on top," Vai
queu
explained. "Where do we find a dungeon like this?"
"Most of Gardmani has been ransacked by older adventurers, but I've heard that some places are too dangerous for most people, especially on the border with Ishfania. I think Your Majesty will be able to deal with them. β
"Are these dungeons big enough to hold my ever-increasing treasures?" The minion nodded. Well, this could also be an opportunity to rebuild his subordinate base, as Manlin Victor will obviously not be able to breed for the rest of his life. "What kind of dungeons have you heard of?"
"That's Meropis Underwater Cityβ"
"Next!" Winkel immediately interrupted him, he had had had enough adventures on the water. "Warm place on land. It didn't rain. β
"Aren't there swamps?" I have a pretty good one in the swamp. β
"No swamps, no swamps, no forests, no lakes, no mud, no filthy, fecal-smelling Manling City."
His chief of staff kept nodding. "For our sake, don't frost. So, how about going to a beautiful, dry desert?"
"Oh, oh, I've heard of one!" Huang interjected in the middle of the conversation. "I heard there's an ant nest in the southern desert on the other side of the mountain!" It's deep and warm too!"
Black shiver. "The cactus is there to shoot you with a needle. I still feel like my butt hurts. β
"Ah, yes, I remember that time we tried to practice on the beach," Blue said. "It's a happy time for me to stop feeling pain."
"Except for the remains of the victims, the ant-headed lion does not carry any treasure," Manlin Victor noted. "At most, we'll get a few trinkets, plus what we can get by killing the beasts," he said. Still, this place is more than enough for treasure. β

Would rather eat two cows in one bite. Next.
"Great, great, how about building a castle in the middle of a volcano?" Victor suggested. "Since Your Majesty likes lava baths as much as gold baths......"
And he did. "I'm listening," Winkel said. "How much lava are we talking about?"
"I don't know, I've never been there. But this place, Mu

The castle has a creepy reputation. As far as I know, this was once the training base for officers of the elite of the European continent and the headquarters of the Inquisition in Ishfania. At the beginning of the War of the Century, Brandon Moore sent his general, the Lich Frebon, to capture the castle, turning it into a refuge for demons and awakening the volcano where they built the fortress. The Ishfanian Inquisition did everything in its power to repel the demons, butβ"
"Twenty words." Wacker interrupted his servant.
Victor paused. "Excuse me, Your Majesty?"
Vai

Say, "When I hear 20 boring words, I start to get distracted." I know you Manlin people love to talk nonsense, but dragons have more important things to do than listen. Twenty words, twenty-five words when pressed, gold, treasure, and money are not counted. β
Manlin Victor made a strange noise. "The Lich has taken over the castle, it's broken. Kill it, it's good. Great bonus. β
Winkel suddenly realizes that Manlin may be using big words to hide his real low IQ. The poor man. The dragon most likely saved his life while holding him under his wings. "What reward?"
"I've heard that the Ishfanian Inquisition kept most of their possessions in huge cellars beneath the castle, including some unique artifacts. In fact, Moore ordered the attack so that they would not be used against him. Moreover, Gardermani promised that whoever cleaned the castle would be able to take the surrounding land for himself, but this did not make much sense, because they had long been abandoned. β
"Not exactly, sir." Red retorted. "I think I know that place, where a lot of kobolds make their home."
"Abandoned by civilized races." Victor the Minion corrected himself, then frowned. "Wait, where do you live?"
"Our original Warren is still there." Red nodded. "When resources became scarce enough to feed us all, the five of us left to find our very own Monster Lord. The Minion job market there is crowded. β
The blue one nodded. "The mountains are full of demons, undead, and villains, except for that human village."
"And there's a village there?" Victor asked, caring only about his little man, while Winkel imagined that a large group of kobolds would soon grant his every wish. "How did it survive?"
"I don't know, boss." Red replied. "The elders said that there was a 'bad moon demon' in the village, and everyone avoided it. We ate the other adventurers for miles. β
This means that there are no more attempted robberies. "Great, you sold me." Wacker said. "Pack your things, minions, the castle is the new cave."
"I must warn Your Majesty, Lich Fu
ibo
He still occupies the castle and wipes out all adventuring parties that try to expel him. Even gold-level adventurers. β
The lich ......, "Victor, the lich is an undead creature, right?"
"Yes,"
"I knew it!"
"They are the strongest of all the undead, spellcasters who turn to the dark magic to prolong their lives. A hundred years ago, when Forriben conquered the castle, he was a level 50 magician. He was probably stronger now, he had a large retinue, and he himself was Brandon Moore's general. β
"Who's Brandon?" The name sounds familiar.
"The Demon King who usurped control of Ishfania a hundred years ago. At the same time, it is also Sco
che
s employer; Now that we let them disband, Gardmani will be able to retake the fortress of Rocheflund from his army, so he may be angry with us. β
"I don't understand why I should care," Winkel replied, who was not afraid of anyone. "I'm going to poke him like I did to your little darling."
"I'm just saying that a demon king and a lich who have killed almost every hero sent to them for a hundred years may be more difficult than a group of robbers."
Great, that means he has more treasures to use to increase his treasure, and more levels. "I, Winkel, love a challenge." The dragon replied unmoved. "Pack your stuff and mine stuff."
His chief of staff took one look at Winkel's treasure and was amazed at its size. "Your Majesty," he said. "How do we transport this gold?"
The dragon narrowed his eyes before realizing what the problem was.
Indeed. Winkel's treasures are increasing, the dragon is no longer able to hold them, and the wit of his minions makes up for their lack of physical strength. They can't transport all the treasure at once.
"We can leave it behind," Manlin Victor advised. "Open the entrance. Even if the adventurers try to dig it up, it will take several days. β
The thought that his treasure remained unattended for days as the robbers continued to march towards the top of the hill frightened Winkel. What if he comes back and finds that the gold is missing? After his efforts to grow his treasure!" The victor of the minions. β
"What's the matter, Your Majesty?"
"Find a bag. A big bag. β
"A big bag?" For the whole treasure?"
"A very large bag," Winkel clarified when his chief of staff looked at him with his big ugly eyes. "Prepare smaller bags for the other Minions."
"Your Majesty, there is no bag large enough to hold your treasure."
Winkel thinks it's flattery. "Do you have a better idea, minion?" Gold doesn't fly. β
The old man opened his mouth to say something stupid, closed his mouth again, and then looked into his coat and took out a strange white metal plate from inside. The rest of the retinue whistled in awe, much to Winkel's confusion.
"In fact," Manling Victor said. "I think it ......"
