Chapter 13: Events
Merven Castle looks better than Van Kel imagined anywhere.
The Dungeon is a huge, ominous black stone structure that sits on a rock in the middle of a crater filled with hot lava, and the black smoke around it gives it an eerie feel. The remains of a half-destroyed stone bridge that connected the edge of the volcano to the entrance to the castle were a stone gate large enough for Winkel to pass through – unlike that stupid temple.
The castle's numerous towers and fortifications are surrounded by a ring of stones, and the magnificent dragon statue overlooks the castle. At the center of the building is a minaret, larger than all the others, and Winkel glimpses the shadow through the stained-glass windows. Flocks of scavenging birds and ravens flock to the rooftops, hungry for the blood of the Manlin, while giant worms wander through the magma below.
It has lava. It has food reserves. It has towers.
In short, it's the perfect lair for him to hide his treasure!
However, the land outside the castle is far less impressive than the building itself. The volcano is a decent size and borders the West Sea, but the countryside here is an indecent wasteland and arroyo. The soil is brown and flowers are scarce, while under the southern horizon, Winkel can see the beginning of a huge red desert. The remaining Manlin people built a small village at the foot of the mountain, while the dragon noticed several primitive camps near the desert border.
Winkel hoped that more than one village would provide him with livestock, but the castle made up for the poverty in the vicinity. "It's strange," he said to himself, his minions serving his audience, "I remember flying over this area two centuries ago, and it looked much greener. ”
The dragon didn't care. He was already in a good mood, and he was glad at the sight of his flying treasure.
Manlin Victor and his Minions invent an ingenious device: a spaceship.
Winkel exhaled without lighting a fire, he let out hot air and filled a large bag of silk, paper, and other materials; When the dragon kindly pleaded, the merchants around the Albon Mountains abandoned them. Somehow, propelled by his miraculous breathing, this giant balloon could even lift a boat.
The minions worked together – like those kobolds who never slept – to create a wooden ship much smaller than a balloon that could carry treasure. kobo
The ES uses pedals to power the wooden spiral, allowing the ship to change direction by means of wheels steered by Manlin Victor. Winkel demanded that the bridge be opened so he could see the treasures inside and catch any that fell from the ship.
It took the Minions a full week to build the ship and sew the balloons under Winkel's watchful eye, but eventually succeeded.
While Manlin Victor was still designing the ship, the Koboyds discussed other ways to transport the treasure, including: using something called a "magnet"; Tie the bird's wings to the chest; Put everything on the throwing plate and throw them up the hill; Find a magical bag to make the treasure smaller. Van Kerr immediately dismissed this suggestion.
While the dragon liked the idea of a winged chest the most, he was happy with the end result. He no longer needs to carry gold the old-fashioned way! He just needs to fly next to it, occasionally providing hot air.
"Well done, minion Victor," Van Kerr congratulated his chief of staff as he flew next to the ship. "I'm proud to be your host."
"Yes, I noticed that the iPad has a schematic diagram of the plane in the file, so I thought maybe there was information about the plane in it; I guess the dragon's breath must work on some kind of gas in order to catch fire. We don't plan to cross the Atlantic in that airship, but we can use it for short distances. ”
"Only our Chief of Staff has access to the true power of the Apple of Knowledge!" Red tweets. "It was successful on the first try!"
"After we wrecked eight prototypes, it made its first test flight," Manlin Victor noted. "You know, there's no way I'm going to design something like this on Earth. Since then, the eleven intelligence points I've earned have manifested themselves there. ”
What they said, Van Kerr didn't understand half of it, he was too happy to care. "Minions, once we're done, you'll get my treasure there," the dragon pointed to a small, remote valley, "stay away from the thieves." ”
"Absolutely." Attendant Victor said, glancing at the castle as he kept the ship above the crater rim. "I'm sure the shopkeeper must have seen us coming."
"Good." Winkel replied, hovering over the edge of the volcano. "What's his name?"
“Fu
ibo
.”
"Minions, to that Fu
ibo
Report my existence. ”
"Your Majesty, are you really, really sure they want to do this?" Manlin Victor took a deep breath and shouted into the crater, his loud voice causing the crows to flee: "Vengeance! King Van Klele Bain, King of the Albon Mountains, the greatest adventurer of all time, wants to talk to you!"
"Minions, don't forget the 'great catastrophe of this time'." Wankel reproaches his minions. "I worked hard to get this." So many princesses have been kidnapped...... The dragon promised himself that he would catch one when he moved in.
Unfortunately, before the Minions could correct their mistakes, the current owner teleported outside the castle.
The Lich Frebon is a skeleton, larger than that of most of the weaker races, with a long serpentine neck and a manling-like skull. His bones were made of gold, his teeth were made of precious stones, and his empty eye sockets shone bright purple. The creature wears expensive reddish-purple robes, just like the living wizards, but it has long, thin arms but no legs. Only magic can make it fly.
It had a beautiful crown, and Winkel wanted to put it on himself at once. "I wonder what his level is...... Let's ...... [observe]" Manlene Victor's eyes widened. "Fifty-eight?!"
The undead flew upwards towards the dragon and his flying treasure at a speed comparable to Winkel's. The lich stopped right in front of the bridge. "Hello everyone, mortals." The lich said in a low, cold voice. Winkel noticed that the air around him had cooled. "His Majesty King Bain, Winkle Knight, and Victor Dalton, I suppose?"
"That's right, I'm King Winkel." Winkel replied proudly, delighted to be treated with the respect he deserved. It's been a great day.
"You are facing Friburn, the archmage of Ishfania," the undead replied, "welcome to my humble abode. It's been a long time since I've had a living visitor. My creation is so eager to fight. ”
"Do you know our names?" Manlin Victor said loudly. "Are you waiting for us?"
"My master and master, King Brandon Moore, has warned me that you have helped Gardmani recapture the fortress of Rocherflond by destroying his chosen agents, and that you have stolen the Apple of Knowledge." The creature's "eyes" turned, surveying the ship. "I think you've gotten a glimpse of its forbidden knowledge."
What did they do to Rochefonte? Van Kkel didn't notice this at the time.
"Are you here to return the artifact to its rightful owner?" The lich asked, "I hope not." In that case, I'll have to spare you. ”
"It's as if someone can take what belongs to me." The dragon mocked the lich with contempt.
The monster made a low voice that Van Kel thought was laughing. "Then why not play a game?" You're adventurers eager to challenge my castle, aren't you? I am very annoyed by the absence of victims; You retarded can't imagine how much trap design I've been through in the last half-century. When you're immortal and tasked with maintaining a crumbling ruin, you'll have to take up your time somehow. ”
"By creating a death trap?" Minion Victor asked in a strange tone. "Everyone has their own hobbies."
"A mortal who loves sarcasm." The lich replied in the same tone, only with a more snarky sound. "Original. Black curse. ”
A black aura enveloped Manling Victor, instantly draining all the color from his skin, causing him to fall to his knees.
However, the voice of the servant ...... Never in his life had Wenk heard such a ridiculous voice, and neither did Furibon, who giggled. "Still standing? So, let's try again. Black curse. ”
This time Victor fell to the ground and almost fell off the ship. "Sir! Kobolds and kobolds immediately rushed to his aid.
"Why didn't you make an interesting noise this time?" The Lich thought.
"Because I've ...... Learn your monster Pe
k…… Want to see it?" Manlin Victor held up a feeble hand to the lich. "Black Cursed ......"
A black aura enveloped the lich, and the lich shrugged. “A [Mo

k and I fight. Maybe I should shorten the greeting and throw this ship down from the sky and you too. ”
"Stop bullying my minions." Winkel warns the creature as it moves between the airship and the lich. "He's my chief of staff. To attack him without my permission is to disrespect me and to commit suicide with a dragon. ”
"Oh? Do you want to fight? I'll admit I'd rather test my invention on you first, but if you want a straight fight, I'll take the apple back-"
Tired of talking and eager to get his new castle before dinner, Winkel poked the lich in the chest with his finger.
The blow sent him flying towards the castle, but its flight stabilized before it hit the wall. "You......" the lich was furious. How dare you, you lizard, touch me?" I'm going to hang your head on a nail in my study!"
He survived after being poked.
The Lich survived the poke.
"How dare you survive the poke!" Winkel held up two fingers and complained. "Now I'm going to have to destroy you with half a hand!"
"Your Majesty, the powerful undead are immune to critical hits...... "Victor the servant warned, regaining enough strength to speak normally." Take a deep breath!"
"(Magic rises)." The lich said hoarsely, a crimson aura shining from his body. "[Fire Zone-]"
Van Kerr just blew him up with a quick fireball and he evaporated instantly.
He immediately regretted it.
Crown!
Congratulations! You take down a powerful Lich by surprise and temporarily destroy it in front of your fans, and you earn a rank in Gladiator!

"Winkel, the best dragon!" His servants congratulated him. "Vanquil, Vanquil, Vanquil!"
"Where's the treasure?" When the smoke cleared, leaving only dust, Winkel asked. "He should have lost a baby."
"That's because he's not dead, Your Majesty." Manlin Victor said and stood up.
"Of course he is. He was an immortal, he was dead before I killed him. ”
"Your Majesty, first of all, Furybon is a lich. Their souls are kept in a container and will be resurrected within a few days if not destroyed. ”
Before Van Kelle could argue further, the lich appeared before them, surrounded by powerful magic. "[Enhanced Fire Resistance], [Magic Protection], [Stone Protection], [Acceleration], [Enhanced Dodge]."
"Already?" Victor narrowed his eyes at the scene in front of him. "Isn't it going to take you a few days to recover?"
"I have a special perk that speeds up the process. As for you, Wenquil, I'll teach you why your kind is—" The lich dodged Wenquiel's attempt to stab him and flew away. "Stop now—" He dodged the poke again. "Stop! Crimson barriers. ”
A shiny red orb of magic surrounded the Lich, blocking Van Kerl's failed attempt to poke him with two fingers. "Better. King Winkel, I thought you would be a fun sacrifice, but now I can't wait to make a bag out of your skin. ”
"It seems so," Wicker replied with smug contempt. "Dragons have no weaknesses!"
"Is that so?" The lich flew onto the bridge and saw Winkel's gold directly. "Is that your treasure, King Winkel?"
No, "You don't dare throw my treasure into the lava!" "
"Throwing riches into lava?" The lich giggled. "Do you think I'm an animal, Knight Bane?" What kind of monster would throw such a hard-earned treasure into the lava?"
Yes. Ah, thank you, the old demon, that undead is a civilized fellow.
"I have a better idea," said the lich, raising his hands and summoning purple lightning.
"[Turn gold into lead]!"
Before Winkel knew it, all his treasures had turned from beautiful gold to dull lead in the flash of black magic.
For a long period of agony, the giant maggot was too shocked to calculate the situation, and his brain froze in the skull.
…
"Boss? Wang Vai
queu
?”
…
"Your Majesty?
…
"Oh, I've 'lived' for centuries, and I never knew a dragon would make an expression like that."
…
"Minions, spin the balloons away. Let's get out of this place now. ”
"But the chief - - - - - - -"
"Spin the damn balloon away!"
…
"Well, King Winkel, why not make a deal now that I have taken what is most dear to you?" Give me back the apple at once, and I'll get your gold back—"
Van Kkel's eyes turned red.
Attack! Attack! Attack! Increased firepower! Warning: [Berserk] Sickness!
“RAAAAAAARGH !”
Winkel immediately fired a huge fireball at the Lich, a projectile large enough to mistake several Manlin people who had witnessed the attack for a meteor. "(Teleportation)." Before the flames could destroy him, the lich blinked and dodged, and the projectile hit the rim of the crater, causing a large area of the crater to fall into the lava.
The Lich reappears nearby, observing the destruction with an ominous silence. "In hindsight," he said to himself, "maybe it was a mistake......
In a furious rage, Winkel destroyed the entire region, including the castle and the Lich, with a fiery death. This time, Fu
ibo
Hit directly by a fireball, shattering his crimson shield and flying over one of the castle's walls. A smaller tower fell on top of him.
Furious enough to think, Van Kerr continued to shoot at the dungeon, melting the stone and blasting another tower into the lava. Immediately afterward, a bright yellow magical barrier surrounded the castle, shielding it from repeated bombardments by the dragons. The monsters in the magma cowered in terror.
Winkel roared and rushed into the sky, the mountains trembling.
