Chapter 383: The Great Yan Zheng Method
"Tantra? "The Great Nikkei Interpretation?Could it be that Master Yixing is a member of the Shingon Sect?" Fang Zhixing wondered. Because of the relationship between the practice of Mahamudra, he also knows a lot about Tantra, and he knows that Tantra is usually called Shingon Buddhism in the Central Plains, with the "Great Nikkei" as the fundamental scripture, and the line of "The Interpretation of the Great Nikkei", I think he is a person of the Shingon Buddhism. Fang Zhixing knows the name of the line, more because this person once wrote the "Great Calendar", is a mathematician, but he does not know much about his Buddhist heritage.
Jueyuan replied: "Exactly, the Middle Earth Tantra is passed down by the three masters of Good and Fearless, Vajra Wisdom, and Bukong. At the beginning, Master Yixing practiced Zen in Songshan with Master Pu Lin, a disciple of Master Shenxiu, and later met two masters, Shan Wu Fearless and Vajra Zhi, and followed them to practice the two tantric methods of Womb Tibet and Vajra, so he also entered Tantra. Nowadays, the "Great Nikjing" passed on in Middle-earth is translated by Master Shan Wudaunt and Master Yixing, and the "Interpretation of the Great Nikjing" is also the commentary of the master on the "Great Nikjing", also known as "Da Nikjing Shu", and the Tantra of Middle Earth is mostly based on this scripture. ”
Hearing this, Fang Zhixing nodded unconsciously, he didn't expect that his party would have such a relationship with Shaolin Temple. Needless to say, Master Shenxiu is the eldest disciple of the Fifth Ancestor Hongren, the senior brother of the Sixth Ancestor Huineng, and the founder of the Northern Sect of Chan...... After his death, he was revered as the six ancestors of Zen Buddhism. And his disciple Pu Lin was also revered as the Seven Ancestors of Zen Buddhism, which can be described as a master of Buddhism. It's just that later, the Southern Zen taught by the six ancestors Hui Neng rose, and the Northern Zen gradually disappeared, and the world knew about it, and it came mostly from the "Altar Sutra". At that time, the disciples of the six ancestors Huineng would go north, and often debated with the descendants of the Northern Zen sect. I'm afraid it may also be related to the internal struggle of Zen Buddhism. Of course, these are mostly Fang Zhixing's speculations, and it is difficult for future generations to know how they are.
The two talked as they walked, and after a while. Jueyuan had already found a line of works from a corner, patted off the dust on it, and handed it to Fang Zhixing. Seeing this, Fang Zhixing even guessed that he was afraid that in Shaolin Temple, except for Jueyuan, he was afraid that few people would learn the works of the line, even except for Jueyuan. I'm afraid that no one knows the work of a line, and it is not known here. After all, now the Southern Zen is the mainstream, and not to mention that he once studied the Northern Zen, that is, he entered the secret from Zen, and it is normal that his writings are not valued by Shaolin monks.
Fang Zhixing thanked Jueyuan and picked up these scriptures by himself. Study it carefully. The superior lineages of Tantra are all through empowerment and never fall into words, and it is a coincidence that Fang Zhixing obtained the secret transmission of Mahamudra, and he does not have any illusions about other Esoteric practice methods, so he is more likely to watch "Mental Arithmetic" and "Great Yan Theory" and learn a line of mathematical methods.
These two books have long been lost to the outside world, and Fang Zhixing has seen them for the first time. Because it is a mathematical classic, the various algorithm rules are quite difficult to understand. Even though Fang Zhixing is proficient in mathematics, it took a lot of effort to read it through, and said secretly: "This "Mental Arithmetic" is a kind of mental arithmetic. It's also extremely subtle, but I already have the Zhou Tian algorithm, and this method is not very useful to me except for some content of deriving the heavenly machine. His Zhou Tian algorithm is derived from mental arithmetic, and he can imagine a circular abacus with 360 axes in his mind, and quickly calculate extremely complex calculations. Naturally, there is no need to learn other mental arithmetic methods.
However, for "The Theory of Dayan", Fang Zhixing is extremely impressed: "Prove each other with the seven yao lines." Push the number of "Zhou Yi" Dayan, this line of masters. Sure enough, he deserves to be a mathematician!" The Quanzhen Sect's apologetic formation is the Tiangang Beidou Array, Fang Zhixing is familiar with the Big Dipper, and he is also extremely impressed when he sees a group of people using the Big Dipper to derive the number of the Big Dipper, many of these methods are also eye-opening, and he instantly thinks of many changes in the Tiangang Beidou Array.
But these are purely mathematical methods, and whether there are other hidden traditions depends on what the three numbers represent. Fang Zhixing said again in his heart. He flipped through it several times, but found nothing unusual in it, so he had to try to think about the meaning of the three numbers "five, eleven, and seventeen". These three numbers are combined with the number of the Great Yan, and if they are useful, they should be in this "Great Yan Theory".
Thinking of this, Fang Zhixing began to look through the fifth, eleventh, and seventeenth pages of the three volumes of "The Great Yan Theory", but he still found nothing. Seeing this, he was not disappointed, and tried to check the fifth, eleventh, and seventeenth columns, but he still couldn't read through. After thinking for a long time, Fang Zhixing secretly said in his heart: "It's not the method of separating words, it's troublesome." Thinking in his heart, he had to find pen and ink and memorize it on paper.
The five words "Da Yan Theory" and "One Line" were omitted, followed by "Da Yan Zhizhi", which Fang Zhixing wrote down. After eleven words, I saw "fifty" and wrote it down again. Seventeen words later, I saw "its use". After five words, I saw "nine out of forty". Fang Zhixing joined up and silently recited "The number of Dayan is fifty, and its use is nine out of forty", the sentence was quite coherent, and he immediately laughed, knowing that he had found the right way. Immediately after that, continue to memorize the text.
I don't know how long it took, Fang Zhixing finally sorted out a manuscript and recited it silently: "The number of Dayan is fifty, and there are nine out of forty. The number of days is twenty and there are five, the number of the earth is thirty, the number of heaven and earth, fifty has five, and the five elements are passed, and the five elements are subtracted by five, and the great Yan is subtracted by one, so it is forty-nine. Heaven 1, Earth 2, Heaven 3, Earth 4, Heaven 5, Earth 6, Heaven 7, Earth 8, Heaven 9, Earth 10. The number of days is five, the number of places is five, and the five are in harmony with each other. The number of days is fifty out of twenty, the number of the earth is thirty, and the number of all heaven and earth is five out of fifty. This is why it becomes a change and the ghosts and gods are also. ”
"Is this the ...... I Ching......? It's the law!" Fang Zhixing said in surprise. He studied the Book of Changes with Hao Datong, and also learned some divination methods, so he naturally knew that many of the passages in this passage came from the "Zhou Yi" and were mostly used for divination. A line deliberately concealed this text in the "Great Yan Theory", obviously not for the sake of writing the "Book of Changes". Most of what is left behind is a kind of Zhengfa.
Thinking that Yixing had once entered the court as an official, Fang Zhixing secretly said in his heart: "It seems that this is most likely the legendary Da Yan Zheng method, and I don't know where I learned it." As a large-scale derivation method, this great derivation method is by no means possible for one person to complete, and if a line is to enter the court as an official with the help of the power of the imperial court, I am afraid that it is also possible. Thinking of his untimely death, Fang Zhixing sighed in his heart, guessing that he had deduced the power of the imperial court, but he was afraid that he would do a lot of things that he had to do before he would end up like this. (To be continued)
