Maybe it's the children of the poor who are in charge early, Xiao Xuanye is extremely sensible and well-behaved, when he was five or six years old, he had already learned to help the old monk do all kinds of work, and by the time Xiao Xuanye was eight or nine years old, he was already able to not only cook by himself, but also help with farm work.
Where there is a temple, there are naturally people.
Although Xuanyin Temple is not a big temple, it is surrounded by several small villages and a small market. There are not many people in the small village, and the combined number of small villages is only a few dozen families and hundreds of people, and the small market only appeared in a few small villages in order to exchange some things. Because there are not many people, they are very familiar with each other. Moreover, although for such a small temple as Xuanyin Temple, these villagers do not have any money to donate incense or anything, but for the two monks in Xuanyin Temple, one old and one young, these villagers are still familiar. Especially Xiao Xuanye, such a well-behaved child, plus Xuanye occasionally goes to the market to exchange the vegetables and grains he grows for some salt or other necessities, so these villagers are particularly familiar with Xiao Xuanye, and Xuanye is also very kind to these simple villagers.
However, although Xuanyin Temple is a temple, the old monk, as the only real monk in the temple, does not seem to have the slightest consciousness of inheriting the Buddhism of Xuanyin Temple, at least, Xiao Xuanye has never seen the old monk practice what Buddhism, what Buddhist scriptures he has studied - in other words, the small Xuanyin Temple, it seems that there are no Buddhist scriptures. In addition to making a fire and cooking all day long, the old monk is to go to the field to farm, and in addition, he sits in the main hall of Xuanyin Temple, and he sits for most of the day - I forgot to say that in the main hall of Xuanyin Temple, not to mention the golden body of the Buddha, even the golden body of ordinary Bodhisattva Arhats is not there. Sometimes, Xiao Xuanye looked at the old monk who was sitting there motionless, as if he felt that the old monk was like a sculpture. And after Xiao Xuanye grew up and could cook and farm, the old monk who died well even saved the first two items and sat in the main hall all day.
However, although the old monk who died well did not look like a high-ranking monk, or even like a fake monk, Xiao Xuanye still had great respect for the old monk who passed away. I heard from the people in the village that he was an abandoned child abandoned by his parents, and he survived by being taken in by his master. Therefore, even though the old monk who passed away didn't give anything to Xiao Xuanye, Xiao Xuanye still respectfully treated the old monk as his closest person.
On this day, Xiao Xuanye made breakfast, ate it with the old monk who had passed away, took care of the farmland, took some grown vegetables, said hello to the old monk and went out. He's going to the bazaar to get some salt.
However, not long after the little monk left, the old monk who had been sitting quietly in the main hall with his eyes closed all day suddenly opened his eyes and said lightly: "It's all here, why are you hesitating?"
Hearing this, a faint voice sounded outside the temple: "The poor monk entered the West in order to seek the way to Pudu. Since entering Mahayana Buddhism, the poor monks have studied the Dharma every day, seeking the way of Pudu, and the Buddha said that the Buddha has purified all sentient beings, but the poor monks have never been able to find the way. After the poor monk entered Theravada Buddhism, he still studied Buddhism all day long, but Hinayana and Mahayana are of the same origin, but they still can't find the method of Pudu. If there is no Dharma of Pudu in the West, then what is the significance of what the poor monks have done? Over the years, while the poor monks have painstakingly studied the Dharma, they have not forgotten to save the world from fire and water, however, the poor monks have been able to save one person, 10 people, 100 people, 100 people, 100 people, 10,000 people, but the poor monks have an end to their own strength, and if there is no method of Pudu, how should they benefit all sentient beings? The poor monks have been thinking hard for many years and cannot understand it. I heard that the Buddha has studied Buddhism intensively over the years and has gained a lot from the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism, so I want to find the Buddha to solve my doubts. However, I was afraid that the Buddha would not have an answer, so he stopped. ”
Between the words, a woman dressed in white slowly walked into the temple, if there is a person who expounds the two religions here, he will recognize it, this person is one of the twelve golden immortals of the original exposition of the Cihang Daoist, now the Guanyin Bodhisattva of Buddhism.
If it is said that Manjushri, Fuxian, Cihang, and the four people who were afraid of leaving their grandsons to apostasy and explain who the most hated by everyone was, it was the former Cihang and the current Guanyin. Unlike the other three, Manjushri Puxian is the second sage of the West who has been left behind in the teachings for a long time, and he is afraid that his grandson is a scum who is simply moved by interests, but Cihang is just a practitioner who seeks the path of Pudu and has the best path of the common people. In order to seek the way of Pudu in Western teachings, Cihang entered the West and became the Guanyin Bodhisattva of Buddhism.
However, although Guanyin has been in the West for many years and has been studying Buddhism diligently, so far, he has not yet found the method of Pudu. This made Guanyin doubt the Dharma. For this reason, Guanyin will come to find the good death to solve the doubts.
That's right, this seemingly ordinary old monk who died well is the current master of Buddhism, Shakyamuni.
Walking into the main hall, Guanyin came to the front of the good death, sat down on a futon at random, looked at Shakyamuni seriously, and asked: "The poor monk is ignorant, and I still hope that the Buddha will teach me." ”
Quietly looking at Guanyin sitting in front of him, for a long time, Shakyamuni slowly shook his head: "The poor monk has walked the world for many years, tasted the suffering of the world, and wants to seek the way of Pudu, looking at the world, no matter whether it is rich and poor, whether it is stable or turbulent, no matter where it is, there are always some people in the world who are in the midst of fire and water. As Guanyin said, the poor monk can save one, ten, and hundred, but he can't save everyone. Therefore, the poor monks do not know what Pudu is. ”
