Chapter 395: Imparting
Hearing Sakyamuni say this, Guanyin's beautiful eyebrows couldn't help but wrinkle deeply: "The Buddha Lord has a lot of luck, and if you talk about the understanding of the Dharma, it can be said that no one can match it." If the Buddha doesn't know, then who knows? Could it be that there is no way to purify in this world?"
However, hearing Guanyin say this, Shakyamuni laughed.
"Why is the Buddha laughing?"
Glancing meaningfully at the outside of the temple, Shakyamuni said: "Today's poor monks don't know, but it doesn't mean that tomorrow's poor monks don't know, tomorrow's poor monks don't know, but it doesn't mean that the poor monks in the future don't know." Moreover, even if the poor monks in the future do not know, it does not mean that no one knows, even if no one knows, it does not mean that the law of Pudu does not exist, but Guanyin is a picture. ”
Shakyamuni's answer seemed like a sophistry, but Guanyin fell into deep thought, and sighed for a long time: "The poor monk thanks the Buddha for his teaching, if it were not for the Buddha, the poor monk would probably go astray." It's just the Buddha Master, could it be that we can only wait like this?"
With a faint smile, Shakyamuni said, "Naturally not." Among the poor monks, among my Buddhism, no one has found the method of Pudu, and I am afraid that it has a great relationship with the lack of prosperity of my Buddhism. If my Buddhism is lucky, I can't say that there will be people who will be affected by the luck of Buddhism, so as to realize the method of Pudu. Before, the Taoist ancestor promised me that the Buddha Gate would prosper with a catastrophe, and the time was calculated, but it was also fast. In the eyes of the poor monks, this is an opportunity, an opportunity to seek the way of Pudu. ”
Nodding slightly, he agreed with Shakyamuni's statement, and Guanyin said: "Can the Buddha have any arrangements for this? ”
Smiling lightly, Shakyamuni said, "That's nature. The poor monk is ready. If Buddhism wants to prosper, it is absolutely impossible to live in a corner of Xiniu Hezhou. After all, the human race is the protagonist of heaven and earth, but there are very few human races in Xiniu Hezhou. Therefore, if Buddhism is to flourish, it is necessary to spread the Dharma to the east. And this requires preachers and apologists. It's just that although Buddhism is booming, it was promised by the Taoist ancestor himself, but the spread of Buddhism to the east, after all, will infringe on the interests of Xuanmen, so we must be cautious in the selection of preachers and protectors. ”
"The Buddha has already been selected?"
Hearing this, Shakyamuni's gaze passed through the temple gate and looked at the little monk Xuanye who had returned from the bazaar in the distance, and said with a smile: "The preacher is far away in the sky, close in front of him. As for the protectors, they still need to think about it, but the poor road also has a preliminary candidate. ”
Hearing this, Guanyin followed Shakyamuni's gaze for a long time, and nodded: "What a pure heart." This man is also suitable as a preacher. ”
In Guanyin's gaze, in the distance, the little monk who returned from the bazaar was like a piece of uncarved glass, without the slightest mixture. And such a pure and clean person is naturally the most suitable person to seek the way of Pudu—a preacher is not a seeker.
............
The days passed.
I don't know when it started, but the old monk actually took a scripture book that he didn't know where to find it and began to teach Xiao Xuanye Buddhism.
In this regard, Xiao Xuanye was very surprised.
The old monk who had never practiced Buddhism in all these years and had studied the Buddhist scriptures actually wanted to teach himself the Dharma? Moreover, this Buddhist scripture could not have been stolen by the old monk from somewhere? He had never seen such a sutra in the Xuanyin Temple, or in other words, there were no sutras in the Xuanyin Temple at all. Moreover, the workmanship of this scripture is so exquisite, although Xiao Xuanye can't recognize what material the scripture is made of, but some things are precious and can be seen at a glance from the surface.
Regarding Xiao Xuanye's suspicions, the old monk naturally did not admit it, but told Xiao Xuanye that this scripture was passed down from generation to generation in Xuanyin Temple.
However, it is better for the old monk not to explain, but when the old monk explained this, Xiao Xuanye was even more suspicious - with the brand-new level of this scripture, it doesn't look like something that has been passed down for many years!
Looking at Xiao Xuanye's suspicious look, Shakyamuni secretly told himself in his heart - the next time he uses a spell to conjure a Buddhist scripture, he must change it to an old one!
In the end, Xiao Xuanye was persuaded by the old monk - the reason is also very simple. The old monk meditated in the main hall all day long, and he basically didn't even go to a few nearby villages, let alone go far away, so there was no place to steal scriptures, right?
And after finally fooling the little monk, Shakyamuni secretly pinched a cold sweat at the same time, and at the same time, he also began to teach the little monk Dharma.
This year, the little monk was already thirteen years old.
Perhaps, in the eyes of others, Shakyamuni should have taught the little monk the Dharma from an early age, but in Shakyamuni's view, if the little monk had been taught the Dharma since he was a child, then the little monk would have been exposed to all kinds of Dharma earlier, but in this way, what is the difference between the little monk and those monks in the current Buddhist sect? The mind is full of nothing but the Dharma, and the head is rigid. The reason why we have to wait for the little monk to grow up and then teach the little monk the Dharma is because Shakyamuni felt that only when the little monk grew up and had his own independent opinion of the world, and then taught the Dharma to the little monk, this could be regarded as truly teaching the Dharma. Only in this way can the little monk realize what belongs to him on the basis of Buddhism and walk out of his own unique path. As for the kind of behavior of instilling the Dharma from an early age, in Shakyamuni's view, the disciples cultivated by that method have no future at all, and at most they are just high-ranking monks in the eyes of the world who have died to cultivate Buddha. There are many such people in Buddhism, and he doesn't want this kind of person.
Moreover, Shakyamuni did this with another intention.
Buddhist scriptures have the effect of moderation. Even if you are a person with a vicious heart, practicing Buddhist scriptures all day long, you will gradually be dissolved from the anger in your heart. Therefore, if you teach the Dharma to a person from a young age, then no matter what their nature is, when they grow up, they will most likely be a good-natured person.
However, in the final analysis, the means of Buddhism only suppress the evil in people's hearts, but do not completely eliminate them. Since it is suppression, there is a danger of an outbreak. The reason why Shakyamuni wanted to wait for Xiao Xuanye to grow up before teaching him the Dharma was also to find out the nature of Xiao Xuanye. If there were any traces of evil in the nature of Xiao Xuanye, Shakyamuni would have given up on this preacher of his own choosing.
Fortunately, Xuanye did not disappoint Shakyamuni.
Although it is said that the Xuanye that every ant encounters on the road has to avoid is a little pedantic and cute in the eyes of Shakyamuni, there is no doubt that such a Xuanye is undoubtedly the best candidate to seek the way of purification.
In this way, under the teachings of Shakyamuni, Xuanye began to practice Buddhism.
