Chapter Seventy-One: Christmas (Ask for Recommendation)

A morning of "farce" allowed Matthew Wakefield to get some very important information.

The first is that the book is not as "omnipotent" as he had imagined.

Perhaps Professor Horace Slughorn was right in his previous judgment...... It was indeed a "weak" mysterious side dark magic object, and it lost its power after attacking the Toad of the Cauldron and then Draco Malfoy.

Or perhaps, it has a special "meaning" to it, so it has been reluctant to attack itself.

All in all, Matthew doesn't have to worry about losing his life all day long.

In addition, in the process of "dialogue" with that book, Matthew also discovered one point:

That book is a way to learn about some of the things that are going on around you through various channels.

But certainly not through yourself.

Because it can't even touch its own memories—

That book, in order to tempt him, put forward three conditions.

Matthew didn't need to know the root cause of all these attacks at Hogwarts, he already had a lot of clues.

And Grindelwald's true face, he scoffed at it and had no interest.

As for learning powerful magic through a self-conscious book, Matthew thinks that any wizard with a normal mind would not believe it.

If the book had really known itself, it would not have put forward these three conditions, which were not attractive to Matthew Wakefield.

As he locked the book in a drawer, Matthew felt a little lighter.

Facing this "big trouble" that has besieged him for four months, he finally sees a ray of light now.

......

When Matthew arrives at the auditorium at dinner time, he finds that it has changed dramatically.

Twelve glittering Christmas trees surround the Great Hall, countless ribbons flutter in the sky, and enchanted snow, warm and dry, falling from the ceiling......

What is even more striking is that the last long table has also been moved to the corner, and in its place is a huge round table that can hold almost thirty or forty people.

Professors Grindelwald, Rozier, Slughorn, Flitwick, Sinista, and Sprout were all seated at the round table, and of course Mr. Pringer, the administrator.

The rest of the round table was reserved for the students, and the total number of students left at Hogwarts in each year was about thirty or so.

The students who arrived in the auditorium first gathered together with some hesitation, looking at everything in front of them in surprise.

"Merry Christmas, kids!" said Principal Gellert Grindelwald with a smile, "Weta has come up with such a great idea to make our Christmas a little more vibe...... Sit down, sit as you please!"

Then everyone stepped forward and sat down in twos and threes.

Matthew sat at the far end of Professor Grindelwald.

Within ten minutes, everyone had arrived.

Matthew is Hufflepuff's Justin Finchrie boy to the left, Gryffindor's Hermione Granger is on the right, and Harry Evans is on the right.

"Let's have some Christmas presents first!" exclaimed Professor Grindelwald happily.

He waved his hand lightly, and a large number of colorful packets and firecrackers fell from the sky.

One of them landed in front of Matthew, who pulled it slightly, and then heard a loud explosion, and Matthew and several people around him were swallowed up in a puff of pale green smoke.

At the same time, a heavy bearskin hat fell into Matthew's hand, and Matthew put it on his head, instantly feeling very warm, and at the same time feeling that he was being pressed a little upright.

Mr. Pringer then pulled a colorful bag firecracker, and more than a dozen flesh and bones exploded from it, and Mr. Tang hurriedly pounced excitedly.

Professor Grindelwald was leading a few girls and singing his favorite Christmas carol.

Professor Slughorn drank a large glass of eggnog and burped, and Professor Rozier gave him a stern look.

The Christmas feast was more sumptuous than expected.

Twenty fat roast turkeys, piles of roast meats and roasted potatoes, lifelike tree trunk cakes, bowls of emerald green peas, large plates of smoked ham and small sausages......

For Matthew, it was the first time he had attended such a banquet.

After the turkey, there is a fiery Christmas pudding.

Hermione Granger was eating, suddenly covering her teeth, and slowly spat out a silver coco from her mouth.

"Oh my God. She exclaimed, "I almost crushed my teeth." ”

Professor Grindelwald took the lead, and everyone looked at Hermione and began to applaud.

The entire auditorium suddenly burst into thunderous applause.

"Thanks......" Hermione looked down in embarrassment.

Muggles and wizards alike would put a silver silver coin (Muggles are sixpence silver) into the pudding when making pudding at Christmas. Whoever finds sixpence in his piece of pudding cake on Christmas night will be considered to have wealth and good fortune for the year ahead.

Professor Slughorn drank eggnog by eggnog, his face flushed.

Professor Rozier's pointed black top hat was crooked to the side, devoid of manners.

Professor Flitwick stood on his stool and sang loudly......

The whole auditorium, like a big family, was happy at this time.

......

The dinner lasted for two hours, until everyone was stuffed with all kinds of food.

Professor Grindelwald had left half an hour earlier, and after he had gone, a few students had left in a scattered manner.

Justin Finchrie also left the round table slowly, holding a large number of knick-knacks that had been blown up from the firecrackers in his arms.

Matthew also picked up his heavy bearskin hat and followed.

"Fenriri!" shouted Matthew.

"Hello, Wakefield...... I can barely walk with food. Justin Finchrie replied.

During the banquet, the two chatted casually for a while, and they were a little familiar with each other.

"Me too. Matthew nodded.

The common rooms of Slytherin and Hufflepuff were both in the basement, and the two were a short walk away.

After walking for about half a minute, Matthew asked casually, "I remember the first day of your Christmas holiday, why was you criticized by Professor Sprout and Professor Rozier?"

"yes. Justin Finchrie said embarrassedly: "I was in the two broomsticks bar that day, I accidentally fell asleep, and I was late for the castle......"

"So......" Matthew asked lightly, "So that day in Hogsmeade, have you ever seen a witch with a thick black scarf......

"A witch with a thick black scarf...... Witches with thick black scarves ......," Justin Finchrie muttered, his eyes a little misty.

Suddenly, he covered his head in pain, and the gadgets in his hands were scattered all over the ground:

"I'm sorry, Wakefield...... I...... I don't remember anything......"
