Chapter 20: The Bodhisattva's Journey
There is a basin at the junction of the north and west of the central and southern plateaus, there is a Bad Plum Mountain at the southwest edge of the basin, because it is located in a special zone, the altitude difference between the foot of the Evil Plum Mountain and the peak of the mountain is more than 3,000 meters, forming a mountain with four seasons, ten miles of different days.
The peculiar and magnificent landscape of Evil Plum Mountain has attracted many cultivators, temples and Taoist temples have been built on the mountain, some legends of Buddhism and Taoism have also spread here, Evil Plum Mountain has gradually become the most famous Foshan in the south of the Xurui Dynasty, and its reputation as a Taoist cave blessed land is only inferior to Wudang Mountain.
Shi Servant left the Rige Temple, trekked between the mountains for more than ten days, came to the Evil Plum Mountain, and under the strong recommendation of the guards who followed, he first came to the Wanfa Temple.
In front of the mountain gate of Wanfa Temple, there are gorgeous sedan chairs parked, and the tired sedan chair drivers lie on the side to sleep.
The temple was crowded with pilgrims, most of whom were richly dressed and wealthy, with a few civil and military officials in between.
The life-size bronze statues enshrined in the Guanyin Hall, Manjushri Hall, Fuxian Hall, Luohan Hall, Medicine Buddha Hall and Amitabha Buddha Hall are all donated by the royal families of different dynasties.
After walking through several halls in several courtyards, he came to the front of the Daxiong Treasure Hall.
The two pilgrims who came out of the temple talked as they walked.
A pilgrim said, "I donated 3,000 silver, so I wanted to see Master Haishan and pray for me, but the elder on duty said that I could only go to the Dharma Hall to receive the collective blessing of the first seat."
Another pilgrim said, "What are you complaining about?" I donated 5,000 silver, but I can't see Master Haishan, who is the abbot of Wanfa Temple, one of the three great national teachers who was crowned by the emperor of the dynasty, and there are many Buddhist things.
The pilgrim who spoke first said, "Let's go to Ilunin-in, and there are more pilgrims there than here." The abbot is reluctant to pray for the blessings of the Zen master, regardless of status and wealth.
......
Ilenin Temple is the smallest of the six major temples of Mt. Yama, but it has far more pilgrims than the other five.
After leaving the Wanfa Temple, he came to the Nian Temple of Evil Plum Mountain.
There is no mountain gate in Yinian Temple, and there is no one in front of the temple gate. In a large open space between the Tianwang Hall and the Daxiong Treasure Hall, more than 100 pilgrims sat on the ground, most of them were dressed in coarse cloth clothes, mixed with a few wearing silk and satin, and a monk with long face and big ears dressed in a hundred clothes sat opposite the pilgrims.
When the servants walked into the clearing, the monk stood up, folded his hands and saluted, found a vacant seat for the servants to sit down, and then returned to his original position and sat on the ground.
The attendant of the servant whispered to the pilgrim next to him, "Who is the monk sitting in front of you?"
"That's the abbot of the Ichinin Temple. A pilgrim said.
As soon as Shi Shidi sat down, an old white-haired pilgrim in the front row cried and said: "Don't give up the Zen master! Our family all sincerely believe in Buddhism and worship Buddha, my eldest son has done all the good deeds, every family in the village has received his selfless help, he never argues with anyone, but a few days ago he fell into the valley and died when he was running a merchant to deliver goods over the mountain. Why doesn't the Buddha bless such people!"
The Buddha said that he is not a god and does not have the magical power to protect sentient beings. ”
The old pilgrim said, "What's the use of the Buddha?"
The Zen master said, "The Buddha said that he can help people to relieve suffering. Your son was extremely happy in his lifetime, and this is the power of the Buddha. ”
The old pilgrim said: "He was happy when he was alive, but he was still young but died early, leaving our family with endless suffering, I truly believe in Buddhism, why can't the Buddha relieve my current suffering?"
The servant said: "The Buddha said that the human body is just the virtual appearance of heaven and earth, born by gathering and dying by fate. Your son's form has been reincarnated in another world where his smile is even brighter. The old donor is suffering now because the old donor has not seen the Buddha yet. ”
The old pilgrim said, "Where is the Buddha? I came to the temple to find the Buddha, and I beg the Zen master to help me!"
The reluctant Zen master said: "The Buddha is not in Yinian Temple, nor is he in Evil Plum Mountain, he is in the heart of the old benefactor." ”
The old pilgrim said, "The Buddha is in my heart, how can I not see it?"
The Buddha said: "The Buddha said that sentient beings cannot see the Buddha because of the greed, ignorance, and ignorance that grow in their hearts all the time, and they have built a thick barrier in front of the Buddha. ”
The old pilgrim said, "How can I remove these barriers?"
The reluctant Zen master said: "As long as the old benefactor no longer thinks about the good and evil of the past, the good and bad of the future, pursues the good law, and reassures this thought, he will break the barrier." ”
The old pilgrim closed his eyes and stopped talking.
One of the two incense sticks that he saw at Manfa Temple also came to Ilnen-in, and one of them said, "The more money you give, the more blessings you will receive from the Buddha, right?"
At this time, the reluctant Zen master turned his gaze to the servant and said, "Amitabha! Seeing that this master's appearance is from the Radanpo Dynasty, where there are many eminent monks who have preached the supreme Dharma, can the master help the poor monk to solve the doubts of this benefactor?"
He stood up and said, "The poor monk is from the Radan Po Dynasty, and he is not reluctant to give up the profound Dharma of the Zen master, and he boldly speaks of the Buddha and prays for the blessing of the Zen master. ”
After the servant finished speaking, he turned to the pilgrim who asked the question and said, "Amitabha! I wonder what the blessings of the Buddha that this donor just talked about?"
"Of course, wealth and longevity!" said the pilgrim.
The servant said: "As far as the poor monks know, the Buddha said that the charity is financial charity, fearless charity, and Dharma charity, and the Bodhisattva does not give money, but gives confidence in the face of painful fate, so the Buddha does not look at money, but only looks at people's hearts; the Buddha only has the Dharma of liberating the troubles and sufferings of the world, but does not have wealth and longevity, so praying to the Buddha for wealth and longevity will never see the Buddha." Amitabha!"
......
That night, Shiluodi had a long conversation with the reluctant Zen master in Yinian Temple, and the two agreed to meet again in half a year.
Before leaving the Evil Plum Mountain, he came to a dense forest in the south of the Evil Plum Mountain, which was the base camp of the Suhuo Gate that the Zen Master strongly recommended him to come to.
Most of the people of Suhuomen lived in caves, and a few lived in wooden houses built on the mountain.
In the outermost porter made of simple wooden frames, he saw the plantain of the gatekeeper of the Corn Fire Gate.
Originally, everyone who entered the gate of the fire had to take the name of a plant as the name of the plant, and no one could call out the original name. In this way, he shows that his life belongs to the earth, and he will give everything to the people of the earth.
The servant said, "Donor! The poor monk came to the Suhuo Gate, but I wonder if the poor monk can be allowed to enter the Suhuo Gate?"
Plantain said: "The purpose of the Corn Fire Gate is to give corn by day and torches by night to those in need, and to burn all evil forces with fire." The master of the door told us that the Buddha is the messenger of goodness and love, and he is one family with the Su Huo Gate.
When he entered the camp of Suhuomen, he saw some disciples wearing linen clothes and straw sandals in the open space in front of the cave, practicing martial arts under the scorching sun.
The people who saw Shi Servant Land took the initiative to smile and nod to him, and Shi Servant Land suddenly had the feeling of returning to the motherland to see his relatives.
He walked around and stopped, and was later fascinated by a very complex ballista several meters long.
The ballista is divided into two layers, and a total of nine repeaters of different sizes are installed, which can fire more than 50 crossbow arrows at the same time, and can also be fired in batches; the bottom of the ballista is equipped with six wheels with wooden axles, which can move quickly, and there are two boxes full of arrows in the middle of the ballista.
A large shirtless man was burying his head in installing a new sub-crossbow on the ballista.
After carefully observing the ballista, he was extremely shocked that the greatness of the Dharma made him worship every day, and at this moment he also wanted to bow to the ballista.
A disciple of Suhuomen brought a few corn tortillas, a few pieces of pickles, and a pot of water, and when the shirtless man who had installed the new crossbow sat down to eat, he found the servant land.
The disciple who delivered the meal was called lentil, and he told Shi Fudi that this shirtless man was the big leader of the Suhuomen, bitter endive, and the crossbow cart in front of him was made of bitter endive.
Shi Shidi and Bitter Herb were talking, when suddenly a disciple who was sweating profusely and panting came running, and Bitter Herb poured a bowl of water for the visitor and said, "Honey locust! Drink some water first." ”
The disciple called the honey locust said: "The second leader, the second leader, the camellia with pepper and pomegranate, accidentally injured people while performing a mission in Louwei, and was arrested by the local government. ”
Bitter Herb listened to the words of the honey locust, and immediately said goodbye to the servant: "The master is a master in the world, the second leader and the disciple have an accident, and the third leader is not in the door, I will go to the rescue in person, and I can't ask the master for advice." The master can come here at any time, and the Su Huo Gate will always welcome you. ”
Shi Servant Di did not leave the Suhuo Gate after the bitter endive, and he felt here that these people outside the Buddha Gate were giving with their lives, and their deeds were more noble than the disciples of the Buddha Gate, and he deeply felt the greatness of the people of the Xurui Dynasty.
On the tenth night of the day when Bitter Herb left the Suhuo Gate, most of the disciples of the Suhuo Gate had just gone to sleep, when a group of people with swords broke in.
The disciples of the Suhuo Sect are all ascetics with strong martial arts, and they are all waiting for the night and can enter the battle state at any time, and they fought back in the shortest time after the sneak attack, but because the sneak attack was also full of people with outstanding martial arts, the disciples of the Suhuo Sect suffered serious casualties.
Shi Fudi was meditating at the time, practicing the chakra qigong of the Radanpo dynasty, and he was the first to throw himself into battle.
The servant in the black monk's robe was like a predatory vulture, a jump, and the moment it landed, there must have been a sneak attacker who fell to the ground and fainted, and more than half of the sneak attackers lost consciousness when they just saw a flying black shadow.
At the end of the battle, only one person was left in the sneak attack, and several disciples of the Suhuo Gate surrounded him.
When the servants arrived, many of the besieging disciples had already been slashed by the man and were lying on the ground in agony, while the man in the middle was getting braver and braver.
"Bitter Ivory has been locked in a prison, his life is not guaranteed, he is not here, today I will extinguish the Su Huo Gate!" said the man after swinging his knife and slashing another disciple of the Su Huo Gate.
After the disciple fell, the other disciple was about to rush over, and the servant jumped to the front.
As soon as Shi Fudi entered the battle group, he was just in time for the man to slash at a Suhuo Sect disciple beside him, this knife was too fast, the disciple couldn't dodge, seeing the head of the knife slashing towards the disciple's head, Shi Fudi had no choice but to hit the falling knife with his hand.
Seeing that the knife had slashed on Shi Servant's wrist, several disciples couldn't help but let out an exclamation.
The moment the screams of the Suhuo Sect disciples came out, the fierce enemy fell to the ground on his back.
Everyone hurried to look at Shi Shidi's arm, and saw that there was only a very shallow wound on the back of Shi Shidi's hand, and everyone was relieved.
The servant said: "Thank you! The poor monk is fine, hurry up and clean up the battlefield to save people!"
Zijing was the four leaders of the Suhuo Gate, and he counted the battlefield and found that twenty-nine disciples of the Suhuo Gate had died and more than forty were seriously injured, and the enemy who had attacked by the attack had killed thirty people and seriously injured more than fifty people.
After Zijing finished counting the battlefield and came to the servant land, he knelt down on his knees, and all the disciples of Suhuomen fell down one after another.
The disciple who survived by smashing the enemy's sword with his hand said, "Master Xie saved my life!"
With tears in her eyes, Zijing choked up and said, "Master, the Bodhisattva of great mercy and compassion! You disregarded life and death, and with boundless mana, you subdued this group of extremely ferocious wicked people and saved the Su Huo Gate, and I will kowtow to you for the big leader Bitter Ivy and the disciples of the Su Huo Gate!"
......
Over the years, Su Huomen has fought and chased Jiangyang thieves and folk bullies within hundreds of miles around Evil Meishan, looking for evidence of corruption and corrupt officials, robbers, villains and corrupt officials have hated Su Huomen, but they are afraid of the strong martial arts of Su Huomen disciples, and dare not fight against Su Huomen head-on.
This time, the second leader of Suhuomen led his disciples to rob in Louwei, and killed a thief in the defense, and the robbed businessman ran away secretly because of fear, and the three disciples could have run away, but they took the thief who was caught, and took the initiative to report to the official mansion of Louwei, and when they arrived at the official mansion, the thief who was caught bit back and said that the disciples of Suhuomen robbed and killed people, and the corrupt official had always hated Suhuomen, and put the three of them on death row without investigation.
After leaving Suhuomen, Bitter Herb went to Lou Weiguan's mansion and asked to replace the three disciples with himself, and the stolen official agreed to release the two disciples and leave the second leader, Camellia.
A big thief near Lou Wei heard that Bitter Ivan had been put on death row, so he looked around for a strong martial arts thief who had been suppressed by Su Huomen, and formed a gang of more than 200 people, wanting to take the opportunity to extinguish Su Huomen.
In this gang, there was a military attache who was once a first-class military attache of the Xurui Dynasty, but because the crime of stealing the national treasure was exposed as a guard, he lost his official seal and fled to the frontier, where he made a living by robbing, because his martial arts were extremely high, and the samurai who protected the goods could not beat him.
Later, the bitter endive found him and severely injured him, and he did not dare to come out to commit the crime. This time, when he heard that Bitter and the second leader were in prison, he joined the gang.
This military attache was the one who finally injured more than a dozen Suhuo Sect disciples, injured the back of Shi Shidi's hand, and was finally knocked down by Shi Shidi.
Zijing went to the government to report the case, and rushed to Louwei with the guards to save the bitter endive.
With the help of his entourage, who was an official of the Xurui Dynasty, Shi Servant saw the bitter endive on death row. After inquiring about the situation, Shi asked the entourage guard to negotiate with the corrupt official, and the corrupt official learned that the guard was sent by Zhang He, the head of the palace, and was so frightened that he immediately released the bitter endive.
The stolen officer interrogated the thieves who had been imprisoned together, and the two disciples who had been replaced by the bitter lettuce and released from prison also found the robbed merchant who had escaped, and the merchant testified, and the stolen officer re-established the case according to the facts.
Shi Di said goodbye to the bitter endive in Louwei.
"I was born in a family of craftsmen, I loved martial arts, and I also practiced in a monastery for a year, and I deeply felt that Buddhism was noble and the Dharma was subtle, but when I came across Suhuomen later, I found that they could help people in distress more directly and quickly, so I joined Suhuomen. The Dharma practiced by the master made me realize the greatness of the true Dharma. ”
The servant said: "Amitabha! What the bitter giver does is exactly the same as the great Bodhisattva of my Buddha, and the Buddha said that all the names and appearances in the world are false, and the bitter donor does not need to be entangled in the word Dharma. ”
