Chapter 21 Water Grace Temple
Shi Servant's nose is very big, and when he first became a monk, people who knew him called him a big-nosed monk behind his back.
The dense forest of the servant land captured the thief alone, saved dozens of monks in the Geri Temple, especially with super force, to avoid the disaster of the great influence of the Su Huo Gate, the death row rescued the bitter endive The deeds have spread all over the Central and South Plateau, because the name of the servant land is not easy to remember, the person who began to talk about things called him the big-nosed monk, and the name of the big-nosed monk who came and went was called.
Shi Fudi left Lou Wei, all the way to the east, stopped when he encountered the temple, preached Buddhism, during this period someone recognized Shi Fudi, the big-nosed monk.
Shi Fudi gradually walked down the central and southern plateau, and at this time, the rainy season in the south began, and the vast area on the south bank of the Pangbo River was often shrouded in misty rain and fog.
The Pangbo River spans the southwest, central and southeast, and is the largest river of the Xurui Dynasty.
When Shi Fudi and a few people entered the central and southern sections of the Pangbo River Basin, there was a climate anomaly, heavy rain continued to fall, how many days did not see the sun, and a catastrophic flood that had not been encountered in more than 100 years was approaching both sides of the Pangbo River step by step.
Heavy rain, heavy rain, heavy rain, you chased after me and filled all the rivers and lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Pangbo River, and the roaring waves of the waves broke through the embankments along the river, swallowing up tens of millions of acres of fields, as well as tens of thousands of houses and people, and the once vast plain turned into an ocean.
There are corpses all over the place, as many as stars in the sky, and in the shape of stinky fish floating on the water.
Refugees poured into large towns and cities, where there was food to fight death from starvation.
He walked among the dense crowds of refugees, and everyone who starved to death on the road weighed on his heart, and he walked into a large town with heavy steps.
Shi Shidi asked his attendants to go to the yamen to negotiate a solution to the refugees, and he walked into the largest shop in the town, and after half an hour, the owner of the shop humbly sent Shi Shidi out of the gate.
For most of the day, Shi Servant visited more than a dozen large businesses.
At noon the next day, more than a dozen large businesses set up porridge farms in different parts of the town to give food to the refugees.
More than a dozen of the congee farms have added the words "giving alms with the servants" in their names, and when asked why, they all said that they had been educated by the servants' lands and converted to Buddhism.
The refugees who ate the meal remembered their dead relatives and lost their homes, and the sorrow came from it, and the sound of lamentation and crying spread to every corner.
He preached Buddha on the streets to comfort the broken hearts of refugees.
At the end of the day, listen to the servant talk about the Buddha
The streets of the towns were crowded, refugees were listening, citizens were listening, officials were huddled with ordinary people who usually despised them.
That night, Shi Servant quietly left the town with his retinue, and he went to the next town where there were more refugees.
He walked through towns and villages, persuaded the rich and wealthy to give alms to the victims, and the Dharma for the purpose of relieving the suffering of the world has comforted the hearts of countless suffering victims.
There were more and more refugees following Shi Servant, and finally someone recognized the "Big Nose Monk", and the deeds of Gerig and Suhuomen spread from the Central South Plateau to the Pangbo River Plain, and Shi Servant Land became the loudest name in the disaster area for a while.
Most of the flood areas are under the jurisdiction of Sun Han, the king of Liangjiang, Sun Han is also one of the seven military commanders of the Xurui Dynasty, since the flood, Sun Han has gone deep into the front line of the disaster area every day, led the army to release the flood to save people, opened a warehouse in the rear to release grain, and provided relief to the victims.
Sun Han deeply felt that the number of victims was too large, the people's hearts were fluctuating, it was difficult to organize and control, and it was extremely difficult to rescue them.
When Sun Han heard that there was a foreign monk in the disaster area called Shi Servant Land, and he had a very high prestige among the victims, he personally approached the Shi Servant Land and begged him to persuade the victims not to move around.
He settled on the border of two major cities, the hardest-hit area with the largest concentration of refugees.
Sun Han ordered the army to set up a large number of simple tents for the victims here, and the government set up a number of porridge fields, but there were still "more monks and less porridge".
He traveled all over the town and persuaded many wealthy merchants and squires to open a porridge field here.
After that, the servant land began to open the altar for the victims to preach the Buddha, because there were too many victims, they had to crowd to the front, and the order was very chaotic.
The servants set up a large circle with wooden sticks and ropes, and at a time let some of the victims enter the circle to listen to the lectures, and then another part of the victims come in to listen to the lectures.
Shi Shidi erected a wooden sign of "Shuien Temple" in the middle of the circle, and the rich merchant squires of the porridge field paid for the construction of the wall, built the house, and built the pulpit, and Sun Han went to the temple in Pushan to invite a Guanyin Bodhisattva.
This is how the original Suienji Temple was built.
With the blessing of the Bodhisattva, the victims of the disaster were able to devote themselves to rebuilding their homes with peace of mind.
After the establishment of Shui'en Temple, there are a large number of local and foreign victims who come to worship the Buddha every day in the temple, although the internal strength of the servant is profound, but for more than a month, he preached the scriptures loudly for a long time every day, and his throat was inflamed and could not speak.
The local people were deeply touched by the act of giving to the servants, and the people who donated money and goods to deliver medicine every day crowded the temple.
During the day, he organized manpower to distribute a large amount of gold and silver to the victims, and at night he wrote Buddhist scriptures with the help of several of his former followers who had already followed him as monks.
Two years later, Shui'en Temple has been rebuilt by some wealthy businessmen and tyrants into a large temple in the south second only to Pushan Guangfa Temple.
Shuien Temple has built eight halls, 12 halls, 10 floors, three Xuan and two pavilions, there is a release pond in front of the temple, Sun Han funded the construction of a debate hall that can accommodate 1,000 people in the temple, and the emperor Zhou Tian sent a statue of Shakyamuni and other gilded bronze statues.
The buildings of Shuien Temple are all in the style of the Xurui Dynasty, but the spiritual life of more than 100 monks in the whole temple led by the abbot Shi Shifu is completely different from the ordinary temples of the Xurui Dynasty.
The servants did not wear the silk robes of the abbot monks, and the monks of the whole temple did not dress according to their positions, and all of them were dressed in hundreds of clothes.
The incense money of the general monastery is mostly used to maintain the monks' spiritual life, and the amount of incense money received by the temple is huge, but the money will not be used by the temple, and it is given to the villages and towns that have suffered unexpected disasters and are in urgent need of relief.
Generally, the monasteries have accepted a large amount of land allocated by the government, and the income is quite large, and the servant land does not accept the large fields allocated by the king of Liangjiang, and takes the monks to open up the wasteland and cultivate the land every day.
The life of the general monastery includes morning class, morning porridge, running incense, sitting meditation, running incense, lunch, sitting meditation, drinking tea, evening class, the monks get up at four o'clock in the morning, the life of the day is tense and busy, in addition, the monks also have to participate in the labor of carrying water and farming.
After the daily morning class, he took the monks of the whole monastery to go out to make a relationship, regardless of whether they were rich or poor, everyone spread out and went door to door.
A monk asked Shi Shidi: If there is money to eat in the temple, why bother to change the relationship? Like many other monasteries, isn't it more merit to use the time to study the Dharma and educate the people of the world?
The servant replied: We work tirelessly to bring the Buddha's gospel to each donor, regardless of the rich or poor, to provide them with an opportunity to give, and every time the donor gives alms according to his ability, he is practicing the Dharma, and the renunciation of things outside the body means getting closer to the Buddha, and what we do is a meritorious Dharma act.
In general, when the temple eats in the hall and the main hall, the monks sit behind the table in order of their position, and each person has a fixed position, and the abbot sits alone behind the low Buddha statue.
When he came back to eat, the abbot sat with the monks regardless of their positions.
In just a few years, the influence of the abbot of Shuien Temple, especially among the people, has been comparable to that of the prestigious royal temple Pushan Guangfa Temple.
The spirit of the abbot monk and the servant land deeply touched everyone who saw him, and the folk Buddhists and people called him the Bodhisattva of the servant land.
There is only one person who is not surprised by all this, and that is Zhang He, the head of the palace who invited the servants.
When Zhang He saw the four eminent monks in the Luo Danpo Dynasty, he saw that Amugan and Shi Servant were people who had become Buddhas, and that Gaya's and Mo Shi's Dharma were extremely high, but they were one realm behind.
Zhang He came to Shui'en Temple once, and he decided that Shi Fudi was the most trustworthy person in the Xurui Dynasty.
