Chapter 45 Kakatslan Steppe

Amgan left the Etobaa steppe and entered another, larger steppe, the Kakatslan steppe.

The Kakatslan steppe is the largest grassland among the several grasslands of the Mahucha steppe, and the tribe of the king of the entire Mahucha steppe, Chijin Bo Khan, lives in the Luerdian River valley of the Kakatslan steppe.

When Amgan entered the Kakatslan steppe, it was already the early winter season. A heavy snowfall that has been going on for two days is covering the endless savannah.

It was in this heavy snow that Amugan came to the Tura tribe, one of the five major tribes of the Kakatslan steppe.

Amogan was covered in snow, and the wind stirred the snowflakes to cover his eyes, and from time to time he heard the cries of sheep.

A flock of sheep ran at Amukan, who dismounted and held down the two tall sheep in front of him, turned the direction of the two sheep, and he brought the flock back.

Amogan led the sheep and soon met the people who came to find the sheep, and after Amogan gave the sheep to his master, he rode his horse and ran into the distance.

From the morning to the second half of the night, Amogan braved heavy snowstorms and helped the shepherds of the Tura tribe to find the scattered sheep.

When it was about to dawn, Amugam and a shepherd came to a settlement where twelve shepherds had gathered.

In the tent, he drank hot milk tea and ate dried meat as he began to teach the Dharma.

An elderly herdsman said to him, "There will be a big snowstorm every few years in our grassland, but there has been no major snowstorm in the last eight years.

Another herdsman said: "When a heavy snowstorm comes, it is very dangerous for a person to walk on the grassland, and there are heavy snow nests everywhere that are difficult to find, and once they fall into it, it is difficult to get out, and people will suffocate and freeze to death; when the snowstorm comes, wolves who have nowhere to forage will come out of the mountains and forests in groups to attack herdsmen, cattle and sheep." ”

The older shepherd, who spoke earlier, added: "The central and eastern parts of the Kakatslan steppe have the greatest snowstorms, while the snowstorms in the Etobaa steppe, which you have visited before, are much smaller. So don't go to the central and eastern parts of the Kakatslan steppe, and wait until after the winter to see what happens!"

Without any stop, Amugan resolutely walked towards the middle of the Kakatslan steppe.

Ten days later, a second heavy snow fell in the Kakatslan steppes, and a third heavy snow fell on the eighth day after the second heavy snowfall.

Amugan struggled to walk across the white grasslands, and with the help of the shepherds, he was able to spread the Dharma to the tents of most of the herdsmen in the Tura tribe.

Eventually, Amugan came to the big tent of the Turak chieftain Hebu Bald Tano, who found that the chieftain's tent was as simple as the tent of the Turak shepherds, and that the tents of the Na U Lao chiefs and the Sui Nu chiefs on the Etobaa steppe were very ornate and well-equipped.

The chieftain Khbukbald Tano said to Amgan, "Subduing the demons and arhats! I have heard from the herdsmen of our Tura tribe who have been to the Etopae steppe, and I know of your glorious experience of spreading Buddhism in the Etopae steppe. We also have a monk from the capital here, who has been here for two years, and his Buddhism has not been able to spread here. You have been in our Tura tribe for less than a month, and you have received the deep love of all the herdsmen who have seen you, and they all believe in the Buddhism you have spread, so it can be seen that you are really a great monk! This year's heavy snowstorm has come, and the disaster will continue to deepen, because there has been no major snowstorm in recent years, and most of the herdsmen, as in previous years, have not stocked enough hay for cattle and sheep to survive the winter, and most of the herdsmen's cattle and sheep will starve to death and freeze to death this winter, and most of the cattle and sheep will die of death, and the death of most of the cattle and sheep means that the shepherds will die of a small half!"

Amukan said, "Om Mani Nyorai, Oma Nyorai, Amitabha Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Bodhisattva Manjushri, Vajrapani, Avalokiteshvara, King Jizo Bodhisattva, Puxian Bodhisattva, the Four Great Dharma Protectors, and the Sixteen Vajra Arhats will all chant sutras and vows for the herdsmen of the grassland. Does the chief have an emergency right now?"

"The only way to ask for help is to go to the old tribe of the Etoba'e steppe, where the snow is very little and there is endless hay in the surrounding forests. However, the powerful old tribes have always despised our Tura tribe and have ambitions to annex us, and it is only because we are now under the Chijin Bo Khan that they tolerate us. Now that their chieftain, Gelaiyu Xiaoyan, has married the king of the steppe, Chijin Bo Khan, and is even more dismissive of our Tula, so all they can give us is boos and taunts. ”

All grievances in the world are illusions, all actions are impermanent, and the only thing that remains unchanged is the Buddha's heart. ”

Twelve days later, Amugan sent 20,000 carts of hay from the Nawu Lao and Suinu tribes in the Etoba'e steppe to the Tura tribe in the Kakatslan steppe.

After leaving the Turas, Amgan continued towards the central part of the Kakatslan steppe.

It took him another month to walk through the second tribe of herdsmen in the Kakatslan steppe, and as he left, the herdsmen sent him out of their tents with the sound of "Om Mani Horn Mi Ng".

When Amugan came to the Huowumeng tribe by the Luerdian River, it was already the depths of winter.

The fourth heavy snow of this winter also came quietly and silently to the banks of the Luerdian River at this time.

The first three heavy snowfalls only brought small snow disasters to the grasslands because of the long intervals, and only formed heavy snow disasters in local areas, and the fourth heavy snow fell for more than ten days in a row. Heavy snow becomes blizzard, and blizzard becomes big blizzard. The winds and winds came to the grasslands along with the snowstorms, and they landed a great snowstorm in every settlement of the Khorumon tribe where the Khormon tribe lived by the Kagodian River in the Kakatslan steppe.

On the first day of his entry into the Howumeng Division, he helped the shepherds drive the sheep under the heavy snowstorm, but the storm and snow gradually scattered the sheep, and the wind and snow squinted the sheep's eyes, and the sheep lost contact with each other, and the sheep could no longer be stopped.

Amugan soon stopped driving the sheep, and he found that the frail shepherds and children had been pushed by the storm to the wasteland far from the settlements, and some had fallen to the ground.

Under such high-intensity wind and snow conditions, it is impossible for herdsmen who are far away from settlements to return, and the consequences of herders who are far away from settlements are buried in the snow and freeze to death and starve to death.

From time to time, he put his ear close to the shepherd to ask the location of the settlement, and then he walked slowly step by step against the wind and snow, and after a few steps, he was about to peel off the snow and stick to his eyes, but he still couldn't see the direction clearly, so he could only walk intuitively.

After sending the half-supported and half-hugged shepherd to the settlement, Amugan threw himself into the storm as soon as he inquired about anyone in the settlement who had not returned.

On several occasions, Amogan sent the shepherds to the wrong settlement, but they were temporarily taken in by the kind shepherds.

Amogan headed eastward, towards the center of the Houmon tribe.

For more than two days, he rested for two hours in the tent of the herdsman's settlement, drank a few bowls of milk tea, ate a few pieces of dried meat, meditated for a while, and then went on the road again to find the herdsman trapped in the wilderness by the wind and snow.

Amogan learned from the herdsmen how to identify the valleys and the settlements of the herdsmen based on the terrain and trees. But Amugan fell into a deep ravine twice, and the snow never covered his head. Ordinary people pushed and bumped under the snow ditch in a panic for a while, and they couldn't get out of the ravine when they ran out of strength, and finally they suffocated and froze to death in the snow ditch. After Amogan fell to the bottom of the snow ditch, his heart was very calm. He has 30 years of tantric cultivation and can hold his breath for more than 10 minutes through a kind of "visualization" exercise. He turned on the spot and touched the rock on the edge of the ditch in one step, and he grabbed the rock with his hand and quickly climbed to the ditch.

Amogan found several small settlements, the sheep were swept away by the blizzard, the source of food was gone, and they did not dare and could not leave the settlements to call for help, these shepherds would face the threat of fasting, the blizzard lasted as many days as they wanted, and the ghost of death was already wandering in the wind and snow not far outside the tent.

Amogan went deep into the wilderness and found the frozen sheep buried in the snow, and he carried the sheep to the tent in the settlement.

Amugan hadn't eaten for two days, and he was walking slowly on the snowy grassland where the temperature was close to minus 30 degrees. When the right leg fell into the ravine, a half-foot-long hole was cut by a sharp stone, and the bloody mouth was frozen into a red steamed bun, and with every step, the red steamed bun was torn apart. From time to time, the hungry howls of wolves coming down from the mountains and forests to feed could be heard in the distance.

No shepherd dares to come to the wasteland in a blizzard, he will freeze to death, and he will be eaten by hungry wolves.

Amugan had been practicing Tanmi Gong since he was ten years old, and for more than 30 years he had not stopped for a single day, and the internal qi of Tanmi Gong burned like a fire in the chakras of his body for many years. The leopard skin pants that the chief of the Na Wu Lao tribe, Gelai Hui Xiaoyan, gave to Amugan had already been given by him to the shepherds. Dressed in thin clothes and trousers, Amme made his way through the blizzard and sent the frozen sheep to a small fasting settlement.

Amogan walked in the snowy wasteland for eight days, and the wound on his right leg and stomach was cut by a stone tip and turned pus due to infection.

Unconsciously, Amugan limped to the center of the Kakatslan steppe, which was the center of the Howumeng tribe, the largest tribe in the entire Mahucha steppe with an army of 150,000 troops, and the leader of the tribe, Chijin Bo Khan, was also the leader of the entire steppe, one of the seven military commanders of the Xurui Dynasty.
