Year-end summary and interim report
I want to say sorry again, I will return to China tomorrow night to visit my relatives, so that the fairy road will not be updated until the beginning of next month. Originally, I wanted to finish the last chapter of volume 10 before returning to China, but the submission of the paper on the 19th required a lot of time, and there were many things to deal with in the next two days, so I couldn't write it calmly, so the final chapter of this volume had to wait until next year.
As my first novel attempt, "Smoke and Dust on the Fairy Road" was written in three days and two ends in my spare time, and it has almost just passed a year now, and it is also the end of the year, so I will make a year-end summary by myself, review the writing process of this online article, and talk about some heartfelt words.
This novel has always been considered a new work in my mind, so sometimes when I reply to a forum post, I often add a link to the advertisement. This kind of mentality may help me to keep writing honestly. After all, the current state of this book is not heard at the starting point, and the subscription is far inferior to the many new books that rise every month, and the necessary mental adjustment is also needed. Believe it or not, I haven't used this book as a tool to make money since I started writing it. To a greater extent, it's really my hobby. Why have you been able to do it until now? Because I like it. However, frankly speaking, there are more famous authors who have recently come into contact with them, and looking at their prosperous and lively scene, my heart is also a little fluctuating;
"Why don't I try to write side-rubbing and see how it goes!"
Of course, this thought never really went to heart. Because no matter what other people think, I have my own criteria for judging. Now I've figured it out:
After a year of mixing at the starting point, the smoke and dust of the fairy road and the flat tide of Guan Pingchao are still well-known today; who gave these things? No matter how insufficiency the fairy road is, it is bland and redundant, but there are still so many readers who have persevered to this day, clicking, voting, subscribing, reading, and even recommending to friends, writing advertisements for me in forums - in this case, how can I have any other thoughts? I think all the friends who pay attention to this book hope that this book can continue and finally have a happy ending; in this case, Guan Pingchao, who is a little famous because of everyone's recognition, must take this as a responsibility.
Also, the recent publication of Xianlu has had some twists and turns, and there seems to be no hope for both traditional and simplified Chinese. And with the increase in the number of words released by the public version of Xianlu, the possibility of publication is becoming more and more slim. Therefore, I also want to take the opportunity of returning to China to relax and adjust my mentality. Because, I have noticed that my writing mentality seems to have changed a little bit lately. Maybe it's like the real person in the book says, "I forgot what I was!" so I need to remember the main purpose of writing in the first place, and I don't mind other redundant tasks such as publishing, subscribing, clicking parameters, etc. After all, I am not short of money now, and I have the conditions to support my hobby.
All of the above is to warn yourself: it is better to return to the original state of newcomers and new works, press down the impetuous mood, and seriously weave your favorite words.
I've confessed my mentality, so let's talk about the work itself. Although this debut novel seems to have won a lot purely in terms of numbers, for me, I have accumulated a lot of experience in writing it to this day, and the work itself has gone from naïve to more mature.
In the past, because I rarely looked back, I was ignorant, and I felt that I was starting to write okay. But when I looked back recently, I suddenly realized that the first and second volumes were really wordy! I haven't read the third volume again, and I don't know what the situation is. But now, I think that although it may not be much in the plot in a chapter, I can guarantee that I am talking about something, whether it is a small thing or a big thing. In the first two volumes, there are often unnecessary redundancies. Maybe this will affect the mood of the first-time viewer, so without affecting the update, you still have to change it when you have time.
It can be said that there are not as many flaws in the writing as it used to be, but in terms of the plot, it may still feel a little bland. I don't have much to say about that. After all, this involves a matter of imagination, and if the plot cannot be recognized, you can only blame yourself for not having enough imagination. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing I can do now is to modify the unnatural and unreasonable fragments of the plot that has already happened according to the feedback of my book friends, so that they don't seem so abrupt. And for the future, just as I posted earlier may be more ridiculous, this fairy road will continue to write more pages, and the future scenes will become more grander - the smoke and dust of the fairy road are never afraid of magnificent and bizarre scenes.
This is also the basic idea of this book from the very beginning. At present, the scene may be smaller, for example, the location is Raozhou - > Luofu Mountain - > Zhenyang - > Yang Mountain, and it seems that it has only been a year and a half in total. This is because one of the basic starting points of this book is to describe the growth process of the protagonist Zhang Xingyan more naturally. At the beginning, neither his knowledge nor his ability could make too big a big deal. And Xianlu is writing now, it is at a turning point. Some of the characters of the protagonist due to his background in the market will be transformed due to the change of his current identity. Specifically, it is to go with the flow to be more proactive. Perhaps so far, this change has not yet been clearly manifested. And in the next volume, you may see it more clearly.
If you are too specific about the future direction of the book, you may lose much of your interest. For example, so far, although book friends don't seem to be very happy with the plot, they are basically not very able to predict the plot of the next chapter. For example, the more unknown the entropy, the greater the amount of information. Personally, judging the quality of a book is to see how much information it has: if the protagonist is similar to a large number of novels that I have seen before, then he will not have much information; if we look at its plot, not only is it very familiar, but I can often guess what is going on below, and this amount of information is also very small, so it is boring. To say that a certain book is cliché is actually that the book is small in information.
Maybe it's a bit too far, but back to the plot of this book. Although I don't want to say much, after some inconspicuous foreshadowing in the front, if you pay a little attention, you can still guess the fate of some heroines in the future, and the impact on the protagonist. In the specific writing process, I will determine the basic words and deeds of the person according to his/her personality. Although this is a bit vague, there is one thing that can be stated in advance:
"Smoke and Dust on the Fairy Road", bright YY, beautiful and cute, is a non-spoof Xianxia comedy.
So, in case there are three long and two short things in the future, please hold on first. And at that time, if you look back at the journey that the protagonist has gone through back then, you can find how different Zhang Xingyan at this time is from the beginning, and the fate of an ordinary person can be so magnificent and colorful in the end!
When I write "Smoke and Dust on the Fairy Road", I am actually weaving a dream, a dream that is impossible to realize in the heavy reality. In this sense, it can be called a fairy tale for our adults.
By the way, seeing now, maybe my friends who read Xianlu will also be a little tired, so I also need to relax for a while to check whether the next ideas can rekindle your interest.
After talking about the plot, let's talk about the writing. It seems that most of the book friends who have read Xianlu will think that my writing is not bad. I also need to do some mindset adjustment for this. Basically, my writing is average, but it's a little better than normal composition. It's still far from really good writing. Therefore, in the future, attention will be focused on updating, and the level of the text will be maintained while ensuring the speed of updating.
When it comes to this, I can't help but talk about the poems in the fairy road. I have heard two different opinions on this: one thinks that the painting is more than enough, and the other thinks that it adds to the charm of the novel. I have my own distinct opinion in this regard: although the poems used and written by Xianlu may not be very beautiful, they can still add some classical charm to the scene, and I will stick to this. If you don't like it, you can skip it, if you like it, you may be able to read it, and if you can't read it because you are disgusted with the poem, then you can ...... I can't help it. Personally, I also hope that I can use a more natural state to see with all my compatriots what is going on in our traditional culture. Perhaps, in the future, I can devote a separate chapter to the outer volume, which will include the rare words that appear in the fairy road and mark their pronunciation, and I can also explain the rare fixed phrases. In any case, I feel that to become a complete Chinese, it seems that Chinese nationality alone is not enough. There are some national imprints imprinted in one's own spirit, and you can still explore them if you have the opportunity.
Of course, when it comes to poetry, many of the immature chapters in the first few volumes, especially the verses at the beginning of the chapters, have been added to the novelty, which I have now abridged to the first chapter of the second volume. Since the fourth volume, I don't think it's a big problem, at most there is only one place, and I'll fix it if I'm empty.
Well, having said all that, it's time to end too. Here I wish you all book friends in advance 2006:
Happy New Year
All is it!
Finally, when it comes to poetry, I remember that I can see my relatives the day after tomorrow, so a poem naturally comes to mind:
I dreamed that you picked up spring water like a song with your hands
Splash my shallow lines of poetry......
Dear book friends, we'll see you next year!
