Chapter 3: Childhood Memories
Thinking of this, I put on my coat and walked gently towards the door. When I walked to the door, I found a key question, why don't you have a cat's eye on the door of the student dormitory?
Just when I was depressed and had no cat's eyes, there were three more "bells" on the door, as if it had knocked on my heart three times, making me tremble lightly three times. No matter who was knocking on the door, it was quite rhythmic, and the pauses between each time seemed to be just right.
"Who! I won't open the door if I don't say it. "I gave an ultimatum. But the other party just ignores you, and the silent door seems to be saying, I'm just kidding you!
After waiting for a while, I thought to myself that I would just leave it alone, if I like to knock him, knock it down, and I will sleep on my own. I don't know what other girls will do, whether they will be curled up in the quilt or pick up the phone and call 110.
I wouldn't do that, not since I was a kid. I don't know if it's because of my personality, but no matter how scared I am when I am small, if I can't escape, I will face it head-on. Thinking about it, my childhood self should have been much braver than now, but when I grew up, I was a little timid.
Just as the knock on the door sounded again, I gritted my teeth and slammed open the dorm door.
A light breeze blew in, and the door was empty. I poked my head out, and the dark hallway was empty and deadly silent.
At this moment, I seemed to be able to hear my heart beating violently, and although I had a certain amount of psychological preparation in my mind, the instinctive fear still made my body tremble slightly unconsciously.
After closing the door, I closed my eyes and told myself: don't be afraid, don't be afraid, everything that is more afraid than this has been experienced, what is this thing. Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, there is righteousness in your heart, and all evils cannot be defeated!
Turning my head, I was about to go back to bed when I noticed that the two candles on the candlestick had been extinguished for some reason.
Outside the window, it was drizzling, and the small bedroom suddenly seemed extremely dark, and a chill crept in, making my body chill in my coat.
The dorm room was still the same as before, but I felt something more. Walking back to the bedside, I undressed and fell asleep again, and after getting into the quilt, my heart was a little more steady. Turning around and facing the wall, I silently said to myself: Go to sleep, if you fall asleep, you won't be afraid.
I took deep breaths to relax my nerves and body, trying to divert my attention from the description in the novel. I was so timid, and when I remembered that when I was a child, I would not be afraid of what I saw.
Just as my breathing slowed and my nerves began to loosen, there seemed to be a sobbing sound coming from the empty bed facing my back!
I know it's finally coming to me. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and turned to look at the empty bed across from me, I didn't believe what it could do to me.
Of course I can't see anything, but I know that it's right on the other side, my feelings. I just turned sideways and looked at the empty bed across from me, listening to its slight sobs. When I could face the empty sobs so calmly, I suddenly felt that I was not so scared anymore.
I seem to have regained a little bit of the courage I had back then, and that came from the courage and memories before I was seven years old. It was still sobbing, but I was not in a hurry, and quietly opened my eyes to look at the empty bed that was supposed to be slept on by Zhang Lili.
I don't know if it was a little surprised by my calmness when it sobbed, and it may not know that I was different from ordinary girls, because it was not the first time I had encountered a ghost.
For as long as I can remember, when I was about three years old, I could always see things that others couldn't see.
When I was a child, everyone who met me, except my parents, said that my eyes were brighter than the eyes of ordinary children of the same age, like a crystal clear black agate, shining with some crystal light.
Unfortunately, it's not a good thing that the eyes are too bright. At first, I thought that everyone could see the world I saw, so I didn't care. My parents were the first to notice the problem, because they would always see me grimacing and talking to myself in an empty corner or in the toilet.
When they ask me, I'll say, Mom, look, this aunt is ridiculous, her tongue sticks out ...... her chest. My parents were a little upset after this kind of thing happened so often because I never lied on a regular basis, so they could only trust that their baby daughter did see something they couldn't see.
One day, my parents and I went to my grandmother's house in the countryside to play. In the evening, there was a shower of rain, and the sky was suddenly dark, and when the rain had stopped, my grandmother and I took out small stools and prepared to eat freshly steamed corn in the garden.
At this moment, I saw a long black snake flying in the sky in the east, with two horns on its head and several claws sticking out from under its long body. Of course, I didn't know at the time that what I saw might be a black dragon.
So I pulled my grandmother and pointed out to her the long snake I saw in the sky, and said that the snake was very funny shaking its body.
Grandma looked at me excitedly looking at the eastern sky, pointing, and talking vividly about the long snake she saw, but she herself saw nothing, and couldn't help but be startled by my strange behavior.
To this day, I would also say that not only did I see the black dragon, but it also nodded at me three times after hearing me call it before disappearing into the clouds on the horizon.
My childhood memories are intermittent, but I still remember the strange things I often saw, such as the faceless man who squatted in the corner of my house in the middle of the night, the kid who hung on the willow branch in the middle of the night and made a face at me, and the old man I used to deliver letters to his family on his behalf. As a child, I wasn't scared at all and treated them as friends.
Another time, my father took me to a very famous Buddhist mountain, and after going up the mountain, I naturally burned incense to worship the Buddha and pray for the blessing of the Buddha.
Many pilgrims worship it religiously, because it is said to be the dojo of Jizo Bodhisattva, and there are several immortal golden bodies of high monks on the mountain. Because I was a child, I saw that the lively component was far greater than worshipping the Buddha, so I looked east and west, and I only felt that the Buddha statues in those halls were all amiable and vivid, and I couldn't help but feel happy and happy.
Just as my father led me to a large main hall, an old monk stood in the oblique corner. In my impression, the old monk's long snow-white eyebrows could hang down to the side of his face, his forehead and face were full of wrinkles, and he was wearing a gray cloth monk's robe, watching the pilgrims and people coming and going.
Such an old monk stood aside, and I couldn't help but look at it twice. Although he looks old, his face is full of red light, his complexion is full, especially his eyes are bright, standing there with a straight waist, and he has a momentum like a pine. And I found that since I entered the courtyard of this large university, from the moment I entered the courtyard gate, the eyes of this old monk have never left me.
I followed my father to the main hall and kowtowed to the Buddha, and the one sitting in the middle was the Jizo Bodhisattva. Seeing the Bodhisattva sitting on the lotus platform with kind eyes and a peaceful expression, I couldn't help but look up. As I looked at it, I suddenly noticed that Jizo Bodhisattva seemed to nod and smile at me, and I was stunned.
After rubbing his eyes, the Bodhisattva was still sitting still, and his appearance was kind. I'm afraid it's my delusion, I muttered inwardly.
As soon as I walked out of the Buddha hall, the old monk walked in front of me and my father, folded his hands and bowed slightly, and said, "Amitabha."
Dad was a little overwhelmed by the old monk's sudden salute, and he hurriedly bowed with his hands folded, and listened to the old monk ask kindly: "The benefactor is the daughter?" The father nodded and said, "Yes, it's my daughter who brought it." The old monk nodded and said, "The old man saw that the benefactor's daughter was full of treasure and brilliance, and this kind of luck was extraordinary, congratulations to the donor for having such a wonderful daughter!"
My father didn't understand what the old monk was talking about for a while, and when he was about to ask, the old monk took out a string of Buddhist beads from his arms and handed it to his father and said: "Heaven is ruthless, Buddhism is affectionate, the sea of suffering is boundless, and the back is the shore, donor, I see that the little girl is clever and cute, and I specially give her a string of Buddhist beads, Amitabha, Amitabha." ”
Just as his father was about to thank him for the beads, the old monk turned around and stepped into the Buddha hall, sat cross-legged on a futon in front of Jizo Bodhisattva, closed his eyes and meditated. Seeing this, my father couldn't bother me anymore, so he had to bow three times to express his gratitude and leave the main hall with me.
In this way, one thing after another accumulated, and the family slowly believed that I was a little different from other children.
I heard that if I saw too many unclean things, it would have an impact on my child's body and mind, so my family asked around to see if they could turn me back into a normal person. Finally, when I was just seven years old, an old blind man who was said to have some magical powers was brought in from far away.
The old blind man was a thin old man, trembling with a blind cane carved into the head of an elm cane. The blind old man's two eyes are all white, and it is said that he is a little exquisite, called "the eye of the blind", which is what ordinary people call "blind with open eyes", which means that he was born with eyes and no beads.
The old blind man's eyelids blinked a little scary, and when I saw this blind old man, I was too frightened to speak. After the family let the old gentleman into the house, it is natural to serve tea and water to offer a fixed money, which is all said before, please come all the way to a trip, whether it is done or not, or to express some thoughts.
I heard that this old blind man is also very disciplined, no matter what happens, he will first "see" whether he can solve the matter, if he says that he can't solve it, then he will not turn around and leave; if he can do it, then after he has done it, there will really be no more "quality" problems. Therefore, this old blind man has a good reputation and reputation.
Before coming, the introducer had already given the old blind man a rough description of my situation, and after entering the house, he asked a few casual questions, such as my birthday, appearance, etc., after listening to the family's story, only to see him close his blind hand and pinch his thumb on the other four fingers, frowning thoughtfully.
After pinching his fingers like this for a while, he suddenly opened his blind eyes and said, "Quickly bring your child to me!"
I was forced to force myself in front of the old blind man, and when he grabbed my arm with his thin black hands, I was too frightened to move. His white eyes stared at me, as if a little light was coming out of the belly of a dead fish and strifing at me.
I remember very well that the old blind man was indeed looking at me with his eyeless eyes, and very carefully. This was a very deep feeling he left on me at that time, and I felt that he must not be blind.
After watching me for a while, the old blind man touched my head with his left hand and motioned for his family to take me out. When I had gone out, he talked with the adults in the house for a while until he called me into the house again.
When he went in again, the old blind man had already taken out a small carved wooden box, black lacquer, gold carving, and something like red mud in the box. I listened to the words in his mouth, stirring the red mud in the small box with his index finger, and asking his family to bring me to him.
Seeing the old blind man pressing a finger of red mud between my eyebrows, I hurriedly closed my eyes in fright, only to feel that the old blind man's finger drew between my forehead and eyebrows for a while, until he exhaled a breath of air before finishing the drawing. I still didn't dare to open my eyes, and after the old blind man whispered a few more words like a mantra, I only felt as if a ribbon was tied to my forehead, and then I was carried out of the house by my father.
The blind man was gone, and the red silk tied around my head was not untied until seven days later. At this point, I couldn't see anything, and my family said that the blind man really had some Taoism.
When I was a child, I didn't understand anything, and this matter was over. It wasn't until I was in middle school that I was curious when I thought about it, so I asked my parents, but they wouldn't tell me. Just when I was about to go to university and live alone, one day, my father finally came in and told me something after hesitating for a moment at the door of my room.
