Chapter 33: The fire of jealousy burns the merit forest

The disciple who asked the question was called Tianqu, and he was a disciple who had been practicing with the Buddha for decades. In the first ten years, he practiced meditation and mantras, and he made the most rapid progress among his disciples. As long as it is the Dharma spoken by the Buddha, it often enters the ears and hearts, and the realm of the Buddha's appearance is always known to the eyes. On weekdays, among the disciples, they often recite the words of the Buddha and argue with others, and no one is invincible.

But ten years later, for some reason, Tianqu became arrogant, and realized that what he saw and realized was equivalent to that of the Buddha. At first, he regarded himself as an achiever among the disciples, and when he walked with the Buddha, he no longer followed behind him, but stepped forward to stand in parallel with the Buddha, which aroused the suspicion and disgust of the disciples. In the end, it evolved to get up and ask questions when the Buddha was speaking, and all the questions were tricky and strange, and when I heard it, I knew that I had hollowed out my mind and wanted to stump the Buddha's questions. But the Buddha always asked and answered, and did not make Tianqu stump once. Despite this, it did not make Tianqu's heart truly respectful, and as he was defeated again and again, Tianqu's heart felt more and more jealous like a hot oil.

Eventually, the jealous and lost in the heavenly pleasure could no longer bear to let his disciples respect only the Buddha and not himself, and he began to sow discord among some disciples who followed the Buddha but did not attain the attainment of cultivation, or arranged slanderous words and deeds against the Buddha, or pretended to be kind to guide the cultivation of the Dharma, but only talked about the realm of wisdom to make these disciples yearn and doubt, without caring whether they were able to practice those Dharmas. In such an act of Tianqu, many disciples who followed the Buddha left one after another, or turned to follow Tianqu.

Tianqu became very proud because of this, but he knew that there were not enough disciples who followed him, so he told those disciples who followed him not to be silent and still pretend to follow the Buddha. Seeing that the Buddha didn't seem to be aware of the surroundings, Tianqu was secretly proud in his heart. I feel that the Buddha's supernatural cultivation is nothing more than this, and I can't even notice what I have done. So he became more bold and arrogant, and even wanted to kill the Buddha and replace him.

One day, the Buddha took his disciples out to beg for food. The so-called begging, as the Buddha said, is to receive the blessings of sentient beings. Forming a relationship with sentient beings. There happened to be a disciple who was unwell and couldn't follow, and Tianqu also took the opportunity to pretend to be unwell and deliberately didn't follow. When the Buddha and his disciples passed through a canyon, they secretly overtook the Tianqu who was ambushed above the canyon in advance, and used their great magic powers to cut off half of the mountain. After the mountain peak cracked, it let out a huge roar and smashed into the Buddha and the disciples in the canyon from mid-air.

When the disciples heard the loud noise, they looked up and saw that the sky was dark, and half of the mountain had come down, and they were immediately frightened and ran wildly in amazement. That's when it happened. But he saw that the Buddha seemed to be unaware of anything, and continued to walk forward unhurriedly. Seeing this, some of the disciples who had escaped immediately ran over and tried to pull the Buddha away, but when they pulled the Buddha's arm, they did not move at all, as if they were pulling a mountain, but the Buddha who kept moving forward dragged the disciples who pulled him forward.

The disciple was terrified and wanted to take care of his own escape, but found that somehow his hand was stuck to the Buddha's arm, and he couldn't shake it off. And the half of the mountain peak had already broken through the sky, but it roared and smashed down. He only had time to shout: "Master!"

When the Buddha heard this disciple shouting, he reacted. Looking at the disciple, he saw the disciple's frightened expression, but he smiled slightly. At this time, the half of the mountain peak had fallen, and the Buddha's body did not move, tilting his head and blowing out a breath with one mouth. Immediately, the half of the mountain peak was blown back, and it still landed firmly on the original cliff, and it merged into one again. And as soon as the disciple's hand loosened, the hand that was glued to the Buddha's body was freed.

Blowing air and retreating from the mountain, what a miraculous power this is! Don't talk about the disciple who went to pull the Buddha's arm. The disciples who had fled in all directions turned around and froze in place when they saw this scene. At this moment, a sudden change occurred, because the half of the mountain peak returned to its position, and when it fell, a huge bombardment force was generated, and a sharp stone the size of a finger burst out under the collision and shot towards the Buddha.

At this time, I only heard an exclamation: "Master, be careful!" and then a figure appeared in front of the Buddha from the void and blocked the small stone. The stone flew out of his arm, scratching a little skin, oozing a bead of blood, causing the visitor to snort slightly.

Seeing this, the Buddha asked with concern, "Tianqu, are you okay?"

It's none other than the pebble that's in the way, it's Tianqu. When he saw the Buddha blowing and retreating from the mountain, he felt that he had no such magical powers, and suddenly had a fear of the Buddha in his heart, worried that if the Buddha knew that he was secretly causing harm, he was afraid that he would not let himself go. In his anxiety, he suddenly saw the stone fly out, and immediately flew forward to resist it, as a sign of loyalty. Hearing the Buddha's words with concern, he couldn't help but feel proud, admired his quick response, and really hid from the Buddha, and at the same time smiled: "Master, it's just a drop of blood, it's no big deal." ”

At this time, all the disciples also came over one after another to greet Tianqu, and at the same time, they all showed shame. At that time, when the accident happened, he and the others left the Buddha to flee for their lives, but Tianqu was able to protect each other regardless of his body, how could he not let them feel red and hot? Many of the disciples even knelt on the ground and wept bitterly to the Buddha to express their repentance.

The Buddha stroked the heads and cheeks of the weeping disciples one by one with his broad and gentle palm, and said, "Why do you want to weep bitterly because you cherish your lives? Do I want to see you die for me?

When the disciples heard the Buddha say this, they all stopped crying bitterly and stood up from the ground with each other's arms. The Buddha came to Tianqu and asked, "Tianqu, didn't you stay in the ashram because you were not feeling well, why did you suddenly appear?"

Tianqu said, I clearly blocked the danger for you, but I still have to doubt my intentions, such a master is really cold. But he said, "Master, I was resting in the ashram, and suddenly I felt uneasy in my heart, as if something ominous had happened. The only thing I remember and worry about in my heart is you, Master, so I hurried here with my magical powers, but I didn't expect to see this scene. ”

The Buddha nodded, saw that Tianqu's arm was broken, and a drop of blood oozed out, and stretched out his finger. He put the drop of blood on his fingertips and looked at it for a while. Tianqu didn't understand the Buddha's intentions, and his heart was uneasy, and suddenly he saw the drop of blood on the Buddha's fingertips swelling up and changing into a red lotus. Amidst the exclamations of the disciples around him, the Buddha handed the red lotus flower to Tianqu's hand. He said, "Today you have a drop of blood because of me, and I will give you a drop of blood in the coming day." Today I turn a drop of your blood into a lotus, and what will you turn my drop of blood into in the future?"

At first glance, the Buddha said this, originally with the wisdom and wisdom of natural fun, he could always give a beautiful answer to the Buddha's question, but this time I don't know why I didn't know how to answer, I just took the red lotus in the Buddha's hand in a daze.

At this time, a disciple on the side asked, "Master, are you joking with your disciples? Why is it still bleeding?"

The Buddha smiled but did not answer, turned around and walked forward, and continued to beg for food. The other disciples also followed one by one, Tianqu held the red lotus, his heart was empty, looking at the figure of the Buddha in the distance, he wanted to follow him several times, but finally took the red lotus and turned to the house.

After Tianqu returned to the house. When the sick disciple saw him return, he was about to ask him why he had left in a hurry. Suddenly, when he saw the red lotus flower he was holding in his hand, he asked, "Senior brother, where did you get your red lotus, why did I feel comfortable physically and mentally when I saw it, and my sick body that felt heavy was lightened?"

Tianqu pondered all the way, and even how he returned to the house was a little unclear. Suddenly hearing this, he replied casually: "This is our master, the red lotus turned into a drop of blood, not from where I picked it. ”

Tianqu said unintentionally, and did not explain that this drop of blood actually came from his arm. When the disciple heard this, he thought it was the blood from the Buddha's body, so he immediately struggled out of the hospital bed, knelt down at the red lotus, and said with tears in his eyes: "Shizun is indeed a person who has achieved great magical powers, and such a red lotus turned into a drop of blood can also eliminate the pain." Since the opening of heaven and earth, when has there ever been such a person of incredible merit, who deserves the respect of all!"

The disciple knelt down at the red lotus as he spoke, but he didn't notice that Tianqu's face had changed terribly, and he was gloomy and about to drip water. The red lotus is clearly transformed by his own blood, and if he feels that his pain is alleviated, it is also his own merit. On the contrary, this person is due to the master, he is really blind and confused, what is the need to live in the world.

Tianqu thought of this, and coldly watched his junior brother kneel on the ground and kowtow, and while he was prostrate, he raised his hand and slapped it with a palm, which was on the other party's bare head. This time, he exerted all his strength, and suddenly slapped the bald head to pieces, but the poor disciple didn't know what was going on, and he was already dying.

After Tianqu killed, looking at the corpse that fell to the ground, he suddenly thought that this junior brother saw that the red lotus could feel the relief of his illness, although he didn't know that this red lotus was transformed by his own blood and mistook it for the blood of the master, but it also proved that his blood had such a miraculous use, and he did not lose to the master at all, maybe the blood of the master did not have such a miraculous use?

Thinking of this, Tianqu couldn't help but laugh, thinking that the time had come to replace the Buddha. He decided to challenge the Buddha face to face, to justify the Buddha, and then to replace him in the open. So he first moved the disciple's body to the back of the ashram and buried it, wiped the blood all over the ground, and then sat in the courtyard of the ashram, waiting for the Buddha and the other disciples to return.

Unexpectedly, this wait was seven days, and it turned out that the Buddha took his disciples to beg for food, but he was invited away by a lord of the country, and he preached the Dharma for seven days in a row before he reluctantly sent the Buddha back. The lord of the kingdom was so respectful to the Buddha that he sent his own personal guards to escort him, and let the Buddha return on his own royal mount, the six-tusked white elephant.

Tianqu waited in the ashram for seven days, looking forward to piercing, and finally on the eighth day heard all kinds of beautiful music from afar, and soon saw the Buddha riding a six-tusked white elephant, surrounded by a large group of soldiers slowly coming to the ashram, and the rest of the disciples were following behind the white elephant, many people were full of excitement and triumphant looks, only a few disciples who had followed the Buddha for a long time were still calm.

Seeing this situation, Tianqu suddenly went crazy with jealousy, these six-tusked white elephants should be used to carry themselves, and those soldiers, they should also protect themselves, but this qiē was snatched away by Shizun. Tianqu was so burned by jealousy that he gritted his teeth and jumped in place, and couldn't help but rush forward in a hurry, wanting to use his magical power to knock Shizun off the six-tusked white elephant.

When he came to the six-tusked white elephant, those soldiers had already seen him rushing over, and their expressions were fierce, and they immediately rushed out and four people with spears in their hands stopped him, and asked, "Who are you?

It turned out that during these seven days, the lord of the country had already worshiped the Buddha as a teacher. Tianqu was drunk by this, and immediately became furious, and with a wave of his hand, he flipped the four soldiers to the ground, and rushed to the six-tusked white elephant with an arrow step. The white elephant was infected by the ferocity of his body, rolled up his long nose, raised his two front legs and stomped on the ground, and let out a loud scream, seeing that he was so mad that he was about to tear the Buddha off.

The six-tusked white elephant foot was as tall as two or three people, so huge, it would be great if it started to go berserk. For a moment the solemn procession panicked, and everyone lost color. The soldiers wanted to subdue the white elephant and calm him down, but they couldn't do it, so they had to wave the spear in their hands, surround the white elephant, and keep shouting loudly, but it didn't work at all, the white elephant became more and more manic, and his whole eyes were red.

At this time, I saw the Buddha reach out and touch the forehead of the six-tusked white elephant, and the white elephant immediately regained its calm. Then, on top of the white elephant, the Buddha asked Tianqu, "Tianqu, did you come to me in such a hurry because of a matter of vital life?" (to be continued......)
