Episode 290 Fire Offering Dzi

Since the dzi has extraordinary blessing energies such as those mentioned above, obtaining a true Tibetan dzi is not an easy task in itself.

In the biography of King Gesar, it is clearly recorded that King Gesar made a vow when he opened and buried the dzi: "May the dzi be gathered in the hands of the deity and the guru, and may the protector guard the dzi until the blessed disciple comes." ”

Therefore, having a dzi is the result of the manifestation of the good fortune accumulated through successive lifetimes of practice, and if you get a dzi in this life, it is also a sign of success in your cultivation in a sense.

Because the energy of the dzi is enough to make up for the defects of any of the five elements of innate numerology, and to obtain the magnetic field blessings of body, life, fortune, blessing and wisdom, as well as financial resources, so that the wearer can be at ease physically and mentally, and as he wishes, such a precious holy relic, of course, requires the blessings of cultivation to obtain.

According to the Vedas, due to the influence of the geographical environment and natural disasters in ancient times, the heart of asking for God's help naturally arose, and the "Dzi" was created.

At the same time, various medicines were infiltrated to cure diseases, and the totemic ideas of witchcraft spells were used to draw on the stone to obtain the blessings and protection of the Buddhas and gods.

Dzi is used to worship the deeds of the Buddha and Bodhisattva representative record for the Tang Taizong Zhenguan fifteenth year (AD 641) when Princess Wencheng married Tubo Zampu Songtsan Gampo, brought a Buddha statue invited from India as a dowry, and finally this Buddha statue came to our here in the Shakya Palace, this Buddha statue in addition to the dzi you see for worship, but also by the local believers inlaid with more than 100 kinds of dzi, including three nine-eyed dzi, and three-eyed dzi, two-eyed dzi, treasure bottle dzi (or immortal bottle dzi), Tiger striped dzi and other eyed dzi.

Dzi has a special effect, as Master Ajiwang Jiudrakpa said, "Those who are proficient in examining the scriptures of all treasures can be described as wise men, and those who want to prolong their lives should wear wish-grants, rubies and other jewelry, which can also cure untimely death, and should not be doubtful about the strange effects of jewelry." ”

The "Dzi Sayings" compiled by the Karmapa and others also said, "In ancient times, it was called 'Chamu', and today it is called 'Si' (Dzi'." This is the wishful treasure, also known as the 'four continents check the mother' treasure, is the supreme treasure, do not know the nature of the treasure, still look at the riverside stone, understand the nature of the treasure, the treasure of the wishful thinking, all kinds of effort from time to time to pay the flow, a thousand kinds of greed after all, nothing has been done, although the jewelry has a big thumb, but look at everything as expected. ”

It can be seen that the great masters of all generations have greatly appreciated the efficacy of jewelry.

Gongchen Jigme Lingpa (1729-1797) pointed out that "Dzi stones can be divided into various types such as eyeless and long-eyed, which can resist all kinds of blood diseases, demons, and the disasters of the eight ghosts, pleasant the body and mind, friendly to people, and enhance happiness and reputation." ”

Tima Geshe Tenzin Phuntsok (1673-1746) said in "Crystal Beads" that "among the dzis, the best protectors are eyeless, round, long, etc., and the dzi can be wiped externally to remove eye diseases, and the cold water after soaking the dzi overnight can relieve blood diseases, and after drinking, it can drive away the diseases of the fierce Yao, and the Dzi can also be taken internally, or worn on the body to defend against the diseases brought by the fierce Yao." ”

From this, we can see the effect of dzi.

In addition to the writings of the great physician Tima Geshe, the efficacy of dzi is also introduced in many classics such as the Tibetan medical classic "Four Medical Classics".

The well-known Tibetan medicine Seventy Flavor Pearl is also the main ingredient of dzi.

In addition, dzi is used in religious activities such as blessing offerings.

Tibetans still believe that dzi is a stone that fell from the sky.

Its history can be traced back to 5,000 years ago, when the Tibetans found that this mine has a strong magnetic field, is to mine this ore and grind into the shape of a pestle, round plates, etc., because the engineering technology was not developed at that time, so it can only obtain the shallow ore with gray and white color and no obvious lines, so the Tibetans draw a variety of auspicious patterns on it (such as vase, lotus, tiger stripes, eye lines, lines, etc.), after high temperature treatment so that the pigment penetrates deep into the ore, if it is blessed by the great practitioners, it can have incredible magical power.

Those who are not blessed with profound blessings really have no chance to get this holy stone from the sky.

With a long history, beautiful and mysterious legends, and the Tibetan people's devotion to collect and make offerings, the dzi has become a precious treasure in people's hearts.

There is also a rare dzi called the fire offering dzi: there is a ritual called the fire puja in the puja, which is derived from the tantric rituals of Tibetan Buddhism.

According to different needs, the great monks of Tibetan Buddhism will practice some corresponding methods for the prosperity of their disciples or Buddhism as a whole.

For example, in Tantra, the Dharma is divided into five parts, namely: Buddha, Treasure, Vajra, Lotus, and Karma.

Among them, the karma department belongs to the business department, and there are many types of cultivation methods, the most common and important are: the method of relieving calamity, the method of gaining, the method of Huairou and the method of killing.

When firing dzi, you have to meet the fire puja.

This is because it is only through this stage that the formation of the dzi and the initiation of the spirituality can be embodied and consummated.

Before the puja begins, a fire puja mandala is first set up.

Depending on the purpose of the fire puja, the fire puja mandala will also be different.

The mandala of the Calamity Method is square and the color is mainly white.

When there is a plague or war, or when there is a disaster in someone's home, it is common to ask the lamas and living Buddhas to practice the Dharma, and if the matter is serious and urgent to solve, it is extremely effective to hold a fire puja for the disaster relief method.

At the beginning of the puja, there will be a dedicated cause messenger.

The little lama painted a plan of a mandala on the ground with white paint mixed with various Buddhist blessings.

According to the pattern, a three-dimensional mandala is built with pine and cypress branches and sandalwood.

In the center of the mandala, the seven treasures of Buddhism such as gold, silver, glass, agate, pearls, clams, and coral, as well as precious jewels such as ivory and turquoise, are placed on top, and various precious herbs such as snow lotus, rhodiola, saffron, and cordyceps sinensis are covered.

The Great Living Buddhas sat on the sidelines and recited the Dharma with all the monks.

Beside them, a number of business envoys began to light a fire when they read the corresponding local envoys, or add various delicacies and pour ghee on them, all of which were offered to the Buddha-figures, Dharma protectors, and empty lines with the blessings of the gurus and living Buddhas.

At the critical moment of cultivation, when the Buddha-figure descends to receive the blessing of the offering, if there is a fate, you can put the dzi with the pre-depicted pattern into it for the fire puja.

Of course, this is also a requirement, and only the dzi that naturally have the origin of the calamity can be placed in the fire offering cultivation method of the disaster relief method.

After the fire puja, the seven treasures and other things were all turned to ashes, but the real dzi shone in the fire.

Since then, a gemstone that can give people happiness and well-being and fulfill all their wishes has been born.
