Chapter 139: Sybil Trelawney

While Aven, Harry, Hermione, and Hagrid were discussing Azkaban, the door to the hall was opened again.

It was Professor Trelawney who entered, and she slid towards everyone as if she were standing on wheels.

She wore a green dress decorated with small metal discs, which made her look more like a shiny oversized dragonfly.

"Good afternoon, everyone!" said Professor Trelawney, in her most faint and distant voice, "I have been looking at my crystal ball from the tower, and to my astonishment, I have seen myself leave my lunch alone to come to your dinner. What am I, and how can I refuse the urging of fate? I immediately walked out of my building, and I sincerely ask you to forgive me for being late."

No one spoke, and everyone looked at her in amazement.

Evan noticed that Professor McGonagall's mouth was pursed tightly, and her face became even more ugly.

Professor Trelawney didn't sit down, she circled around the table, putting invisible pressure on everyone, and she stood behind Hermione, Ron, Harry, and Evan for a long time, her big eyes all the time looking at the table.

Suddenly, she let out a low scream!

"What's wrong, Professor?" asked the first-year student in front of her, uneasily.

"You can't believe it, dear child, I saw it," she said, her gaze just fixed on Evan, her expression as if he were dead.

"Sit down, Sybil!" Professor McGonagall interrupted abruptly, "Those owls and roaring letters are enough to upset you that you don't need to add extra pressure to everyone!"

"I can't sit down, Minerva!" said Professor Trelawney, as if she had just noticed Professor McGonagall, "I can't do that, if I sit down, there will be thirteen people at a table! There is nothing more unlucky than thirteen! Never forget that if thirteen eat together, the first person to stand up after the meal will be the first to die!"

"We're willing to take that risk, Sybil. Professor McGonagall said impatiently, "Sit down, for the sake of the Christmas holidays!"

Professor Trelawney hesitated, and then she sat down next to Aven. Evan had a bad feeling that Professor Trelawney had chosen the spot on purpose. She was looking at herself with those big watery eyes, as if she had something to say to herself.

You don't have to guess to know that this is definitely not a good word!

With what Evan knew about her, what she was going to say to herself must be ominous, bad omen.

Evan tried not to look at the other person, focusing entirely on the plate in front of him. The situation was troublesome enough, and he didn't want to take a curse from Professor Trelawney before tonight's action.

"Honey"

"Do you want tripe, Sybil?"

Professor McGonagall interrupted her again, and she reached for a large spoon into the nearest bowl.

Professor Trelawney ignored Professor McGonagall, she glanced at Aven, then looked around and asked softly, "I didn't see my dear Headmaster and Professor Lupin, where have they gone?"

"Obviously, everyone knows what happened in the castle last night, and they know where Albus and Lupin are now!" Professor McGonagall said with an eyebrow raised, impatiently, "Even if no one tells you, you know about it, don't you?"

"Of course I do!" Professor Trelawney gave Professor McGonagall a nonchalant look, "but people don't flaunt that they know everything, and I often behave as if I don't have the Celestial Eye, so that others don't get nervous. ”

"That says a lot. Professor McGonagall said bitterly, "Your so-called Heavenly Eye"

"If you must know, Minerva!" Professor Trelawney's voice suddenly became less indistinct, "I had seen the end of poor Professor Lupin from the crystal ball two months ago, standing alone, in a place full of fear and despair. ”

Apparently, the place in her words was referring to the Azkaban Wizard Prison.

That place was full of Dementors, and only there was fear and despair. Everyone took a breath of cold air at the words of Professor Trelawney, which seemed to foreshadow the tragic end of Professor Lupin, who would spend the rest of his life in Azkaban.

Except for Snape, whose mouth was still sneering, the faces of the others had turned bad.

Harry looked at Professor Trelawney for a moment, rarely without arguing, perhaps he didn't think it was worth it.

For an entire semester, Professor Trelawney had been prophesiing death to him, but nothing had happened, and Harry had become accustomed to it.

Now it was predicted that Professor Lupin would be imprisoned in Azkaban, which was nothing short of pediatric to her.

Evan heard Harry and Hermione start whispering to Hagrid about Azkaban again, asking for details about Azkaban, trying to imagine the lives of Professor Lupin and Sirius Black being held there, and then turning to the Hippogriff's winged beast Buckbeak and Hagrid's post-Christmas lessons.

Evan turned his head away from Professor Trelawney beside him, listening absentmindedly to Harry's conversation.

Harry and Hermione seemed desperately trying to find something to say in order to divert attention from Ron.

Except for the three of them, no one spoke at the table, and the atmosphere was very depressing.

It was definitely the most unpleasant lunch experience that Evan had ever experienced, and he ate the contents of the plate as fast as he could, whispering a few words to Harry and Hermione, and refraining himself from looking at Professor Trelawney beside him.

Fortunately, until the end of lunch, Professor Trelawney's demeanor was almost normal.

About ten minutes later, Ron finished his meal and was about to leave the table.

Aven, Harry, and Hermione glanced at each other and hurriedly stood up.

"Oh my God, you four, who was the first to leave your seat?" Professor Trelawney suddenly screamed loudly.

"I don't know!" Ron said in a deep voice.

"I don't think it makes a difference!" said Professor McGonagall indifferently, "unless there is a mad axe waiting outside the door, intent on cutting down the first person to walk out of the Great Hall." ”

Everyone forced a laugh, and Professor Trelawney stopped talking, as if greatly offended!

She glanced at Professor McGonagall with contempt, grabbed a bottle of sherry from the table, and left the auditorium without looking back.

Ron followed, and Aven, Harry, and Hermione hurriedly followed, and according to the plan that the three of them had discussed in the school hospital this morning, they decided to talk to Ron first. While learning more information, try to keep Ron and Peter in the Gryffindor common room.
