Chapter 18: Aven's Revenge
Even harder than the Transfiguration class was the Potions class, which was what all Gryffindor House students thought.
Deep in the basement, the cold Potions classroom, because of the perennial handling of various potions, the air here exudes a faint unpleasant smell, and the classroom is lined with glass jars, soaked animal specimens inside make you shiver.
Even colder than the Potions classroom was the face of Potions Professor Snape. As long as he stood there, no one in the class dared to speak.
In the first lesson, after taunting everyone, Snape shouted at Evan and prepared to give him a dismount.
But Evan was prepared, and he answered all the questions asked.
"Tsk, tsk, another Mr. know-it-all!" Snape pouted disdainfully.
That's right, this is the new nickname that Evan got from him since "the famous savior's sidekick", matching Hermione's "Miss Jack-of-all-trades".
Snape still deducted a point for his untidy uniform, but after discovering that Evan had memorized almost the entire book of A Thousand Magical Herbs and Mushrooms and Magical Potions and Potions, he changed his strategy.
He treated Evan now like he did to Hermione, that is, he didn't care.
It made Evan a lot easier, but it was hard for him to be happy when he listened to Snape keep finding all sorts of reasons to deduct points from Gryffindor students.
Truth be told, Snape is still very capable.
For example, a simple potion for scabies that they want to prepare today, the configuration steps on the blackboard at the front of the classroom are different from those in the books, and there is an additional step in the process of steaming slugs with antennae.
A small change that makes the potion more effective.
None of the students present noticed this, except for Aven, who had practiced concocting this potion before.
Snape didn't make any point of it, as if it wasn't something to make a fuss about, but Evan knew how difficult it was. Each potion recipe and preparation process recorded in Magic Potions and Potions is the best method that has been practiced thousands of times by countless Potions masters.
Snape was able to alter even the most basic and simple potions, which was a remarkable thing.
"As everyone said, Professor Snape is terrible. "By the time of dinner, Colin hadn't recovered from the shadows of Potions class.
He looked distraught, and if Evan hadn't stopped him from putting the porcupine thorns in the boiling pot, he might have gone to the school hospital right now. But then again, if Snape hadn't been staring at him, he probably wouldn't have forgotten that.
He was deducted two points for the mistake and received an "idiot" rating from Snape.
"Colin, be happy, Professor Snape is just not very expressive, and he is still a good person. Evan comforted him.
This was heard by Ron, who had just sat down, and he immediately stood up and said in surprise, "Oh my God, you're actually praising Snape, you can't be cursed by him, are you?!"
"I'm just telling the truth. Evan ignored him, bowing his head and destroying the pie in front of him.
"Hello, Harry!" Colin said excitedly as he saw Harry coming after him.
"Hello, Colin!" replied Harry, who seemed to memorize his timetable, having already told him six or seven times today, but Colin still enjoyed it, as if it was the most exciting thing in the world.
Harry looked at Evan with a pleading look for help, and Evan couldn't help with this.
He couldn't stop Colin and Ginny from worshipping Harry, just as he couldn't stop Hermione from worshipping Lockhart.
"That's right!" Evan turned to look at Hermione, "Professor Lockhart has agreed to help us, he invited me to his office after dinner, and promised to put his manuscript in the newspaper as if it were an unpublished part of the book Traveling on a Vampire'. ”
"Really, Aven!" Hermione looked overjoyed, "Is it tonight, can I come with you?"
"I think it's fine, but I still have something to write about in the evening, you can go with Colin, and remember to take some more pictures and come back." ”
"Oh, I thought after yesterday's terrible Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson, you knew what that guy was, Hermione!" Ron muttered, "He's a liar who doesn't know anything." ”
"Nonsense!" Hermione glared at him, "You've all read his books, think about the amazing things he's done"
"It's just that he himself says he's done it. ”
The argument didn't last long, and after dinner, Hermione and Colin went to Lockhart's office, and Harry and Ron agreed to go to Gryffindor Castle's ghost, "Nick who almost lost his head", and asked him to contact the other ghosts and provide news to the newspaper.
Evan had planned to go with the two of them, but suddenly received a reply from Bathilda Basshat, detailing the lives of Harry's father and mother on the day Voldemort was defeated, including various details.
These are first-hand historical materials, and they have never appeared in any book.
Evan didn't even have time to tell Harry about it, he made his way back to the common room as fast as he could, and read the letter back and forth a few times in front of the familiar couch by the fire, before writing it in a somewhat trembling hand.
"Love's Guardian, Great Mother Lily Potter!"
This is the topic he has prepared, and Evan first gives a brief introduction to Lily's life, including her excellent performance at Hogwarts and her escape from Voldemort three times.
Then the style changed, and he recounted Lily's last day in a slightly pompous but rigorous tone, as if he had seen everything happen with his own eyes, adding countless details to Bathilda's reply.
Especially at the end, after James Potter was killed by Voldemort in a failed duel, Lily prayed to Voldemort many times for Harry's sake, but she still struggled to protect Harry, and the article reached its peak here.
Evan used a lot of sensational ink to highlight Lily's greatness as a mother, as well as her love for Harry, as well as the brutality of the battle scene at that time, I believe that anyone, as long as they are not a Death Eater, will not be able to help but shed tears when they see this.
As for the last magic Lily used, Evan brushed it off. First, he didn't know what the spell was, and secondly, he wasn't sure if Dumbledore wanted people to know about it, as Bathilda didn't mention it in his reply.
As rumored to have it, after Voldemort killed Lily, he tried to kill Harry, but he failed, either by the rebounding spell or by running away, and he never appeared again.
The truth can't be said, but that doesn't stop Evan from conceiving the details.
According to his description, Lily slowly fell to the ground after falling under Voldemort's death curse, still clutching Voldemort's robe with both hands, preventing him from going to Harry, and in her arms was a circular pendant, with a family portrait of the Potter family on the front and a photo of her with a dark-haired boy when she was a child.
The picture is finally frozen here, and the whole text ends.
As for the dark-haired boy, Evan wrote exactly like Snape, and whether he could be guessed who it was was was not a matter for him to consider.
"Well, this doesn't count as my revenge on Snape. Ai Wen thought maliciously, "Hmph, since you dare to deduct my points, then I can't make you feel good!"
