Exciting female man! Interview with rookie voice actor Ya Lee Ozawa

Every year, a large number of newcomers emerge in the Japanese voice actor industry, and for this reason, the Japanese media specially produced a program called "New Voice Actor Illustrated Guide". The show interviews and reports on some of the most promising rookie voice actors, to understand the behind-the-scenes stories of their entry into the industry, and their prospects for the future. In the latest issue of the "Rookie Voice Actor Guide", it will be introduced that he has been in the "Luo Qiu Club! SS (Kitano Wakana), "Monthly Girl Nozaki-kun" (Sakura Chiyo) and other works have an excellent expression of Ozawa Ya Lee.

Q: This is the first time you've been interviewed by us. How do you feel about photography?

Ozawa: I was shy to take pictures outside, but when I looked at the photos, I was shocked to see that the person on it had a maturity that was beyond my imagination (laughs). Since I'm also relatively short, I always look young. But I guess the person in this photo matches my real age (laughs).

Q: The word "Ya Lee" is pronounced as "ARI", which is still rare in Japanese names.

Ozawa: That's what I think (laughs). But that's really my name. I will also work hard to make this name known as a voice actor as soon as possible.

Q: Do you have any nicknames?

Ozawa: I've never been called by a nickname, and I'm basically always called "Ah Li-chan" or "Ah Li".

Q: If you had to give it a nickname, what would it be?

Ozawa: Because my personality is more female...... So if you have any cute nicknames that match the characters, then of course I'd like to solicit them (laughs).

Q: So, what did Alee-chan do about becoming a voice actor?

Ozawa: I learned about "The Magic Teacher" when I was in my first year of junior high school. Because I used to like animations where there were a lot of girls, I was a little shocked to see 31 female junior high school students about my age appear in "Magic Teacher". I'm a bit of an introvert and I'm not very good at dealing with people, so after watching a lot of girls chattering and smiling so happily, I thought, "I want to be that girl too." "After that, I watched an exclusive video of the voice actors, and they seemed to be happy singing on stage. That's why I fell in love with female voice actors. When I was in junior high school, I spent my time watching various anime.

Q: What kind of voice actors do you like?

Ozawa: I love works like "Girls Love Girls" and "Fruit Baskets", so I like voice actors like Yukari Tamura and Yui Horie . In some of the more strict plots, they vividly revealed the inner feelings of the characters, which moved me very much...... It turns out that the actor can be so powerful. They are not only sparkling and active, but also able to move the audience; Not only is it cute, but it's also handsome...... So when I was in my third year of junior high school, I decided to become a voice actor.

Q: So how did you go through the next phase?

Ozawa: I did some research and found out that popular voice actors were all trained at the training center. And most of the people I look forward to are from the Japan Institute of Narration Acting. So I thought: I have to take the same course and get a lot of experience! That's why I made the Japan Narration Acting Institute my only goal. In my first year of high school, I worked part-time as a food processor to save for tuition, and in my second year of high school, I entered graduate school. My parents once said, "You have to make your dreams come true." ”

Q: What an amazing parent? So what kind of part-time job do you do?

Ozawa: My family is a childcare worker, so I take care of the food at the place where they work. I worked there for a year. It's a pleasure to do this job in a nursery school.

Q: So you also have a therapist qualification?

Ozawa: After graduating from high school, I haven't been able to join a firm. I think I can't give up the path of voice actor, but what should I do after graduation...... While I was thinking about it, I was going to experience what it was like to be a full-time employee. I looked at the qualification certificate that is more suitable for finding a job, and found that the chef qualification certificate can be obtained in only one year, so I chose to take the exam. If I really want to find a job, I think I'll go to a nursery school, but after I got the qualification, I decided on an office......

Q: What was your first job after becoming a voice actor?

Ozawa: I got the chance to say a line in "My Sister Can't Be That Cute"!

Q: Do you remember the lines?

Ozawa: "The sacred night of Christmas! "My heart was beating very fast (laughs). Because I have been studying for a long time at the training center, I have mastered this aspect of acting skills for a long time. But it's useless if you can't come out on the dubbing scene, so I'm complicated.

Q: What kind of table is it, for example?

Ozawa: I thought it was a dream to be a voice actor who was "looking like a happy job". But when I saw the professional voice actor's appearance, I realized the harshness of reality. Everyone is really engrossed in the creation of the work. I found the job to be not only rigorous, but also difficult.

Q: Have you consulted with other voice actors?

Ozawa: I have a good relationship with my seniors. When I first saw them, I was worried about whether I would be able to fit in with the circle, so I first communicated with people who were near me during the dubbing. And if the other person is the same age as me, then I will take the initiative to talk.

Q: It's the first time you've played the heroine's voice in the currently popular "Monthly Girl Nozaki-kun"! So what kind of girl is the heroine Chiyo-chan Sakura?

Ozawa: Very frank and cheerful. No matter how you look at it, it's an ordinary girl. She fell in love with a boy of the same year, Nozaki-kun, and once she decided on it, she took a positive attitude. Because it's a funny plot, her setting may be a little strange, but overall it's a character who likes Nozaki-kun very much and always laughs. In addition, her complaining skills are also very good!

Q: How do you feel about the use of dubbing?

Ozawa: Except for me, everyone else is a popular voice actor, so naturally everyone has superb acting skills...... I'm afraid that a newcomer like me can get the opportunity to perform on the same stage with them because of my similar relationship with Chiyo-chan. When it came to creating characters, I was also told "don't try to create characters." Please keep your own characteristics. "Chiyo-chan is a heroine of the remnant system (laughs). The harder you try, the more you mess things up, and sometimes you will "oh! "Shout out. When I'm not going well, I'm a little too aggressive, or I want to release my feelings. It's very similar to Chiyo-chan (laughs). It would be nice if Chiyo-chan could become a character who is loved by everyone.

Q: Chiyo-chan is a member of the art department, so is she also good at drawing?

Ozawa: Chiyo-chan is very good at drawing that kind of art. The things I draw are a little different from the illustrations, but the love is still the same. When I was in junior high school, I was at the peak of my drawing, using some pens for drawing comic strips, and I also used a hand-drawn tablet to create things. I feel like I'm mostly drawing when I get home from school.

Q: Have you ever drawn anything lately?

Ozawa: Lately, I've been focusing on acting, so I haven't been drawing much. But I also think, "If I could draw something in my own line book, I would definitely draw an expression like this, right?" ”

Q: How do you spend your holidays?

Ozawa: If I have time, I'll watch anime. And I just go to play with my friends. Now I have more voice actor friends, so it's a pleasure to meet and chat with them. We'll talk about things like "difficulties with recording," but that's probably a problem that only newcomers have (laughs).

Q: Since you are a chef, you must be very good at cooking, right?

Ozawa: Actually, I prefer to eat rather than cook (laughs). If I'm craving something delicious, I'll make a lot of them while I'm making zuò! I prefer vegetables to meat, so I guess it's a Japanese pie, and my favorite thing to eat is the delicious udon noodles that are sucky and stingy. If I can eat udon, I will be happy!

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to try as a voice actor in the future?

Ozawa: Ranch Story is one of my favorite works, and I wanted to be a character in it

Little warm world. I also want to expand my voice acting field as a voice actor and participate in various works. When I was a child, I was excited, moved, or dream-like about the world of animation. And it would be great if I could pass on this love to more people as a voice actor. Although this goal is a bit too big......

Q: Do you have any aspects that you would like to share with everyone?

Ozawa: "Keep yourself and always move forward in your own style!" "I'm a "very noticeable" type. But I don't have much confidence in myself...... However, there must be better merits in me, so I feel that I don't need to think about too complicated things, and I just need to express myself as always.

Q: Finally, would you like to say a few words to the readers who read this interview?

Ozawa: This is my first time doing a photo interview, so it's stiff and I have a lot of other questions...... But I'm just getting started, and I hope you'll look at me gently! If you have some kind of affection for the role I played, then please listen to the voice of this character! Ah, my last name is "ARI" Ozawa, which is a very special name, but if you can remember it, then I will be very happy. Please advise!

Q: Thank you for your time today!
